Holiday rentals with a fireplace in South Lakeland District

Highly recommend a stay at Emma’s place, it was absolutely perfect! Me and my friend stayed over the weekend and what can usually be a busy loud touristy weekend in the lakes, was a lovely cosy quiet stay at Emma’s place. Emma was extremely helpful and sent us lots of local reccomendations. We loved all the toiletries and bits that were there for us to use! The house was a lovely cosy cottage absolutely perfect for two. We had a brilliant time, thank you so much!

The venue is stunning, the photos do not do it justice! Everyone has everything the need in each room with their own en suite and the grandness of the building is something else! You have so much space, the large garden area wraps around back and side and is beautiful with stunning views! Everything you could need in the kitchen and welcome bottle very kindly provided by our hosts! Plenty of entertainment and eating areas! When leaving one of our cars broke down and they were very understanding and accommodating! Perfect location, made our stay extra special!

We had a lovely stay. The space was thoughtfully laid out with lots of added extras. Rachael was very responsive and helpful with our questions. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect location. 10/10. I did not want to leave. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, unbelievable views, superb location, easy access to logs for fire with which my husband was delighted. 100% would return... tomorrow if it was possible! Our dog (border terrier) had a fantastic time too and was very interested in the wee hedgehog who appeared to be living in the bushes outside and the free range chickens!! There was also a free range doggo popping round to the garden in the evening. Vigilance/ Lead/ supervision was a must for our super inquisitive pup.

10/10, wonderful place to relax & have a day off from life. Enjoyed every moment. TV worked, which was a massive bonus. Everything was as described, worth every penny. Will be back soon. Thank you.

We’re just home after a very lovely stay in the most beautiful location. Louise communicated well and provided us with a pristine place to stay with everything we could wish for to make us feel at home. The apartment has the most amazing views from every room and is very comfortable and well equipped. There are so many lovely places to visit in the area, some walkable from the accommodation, that we definitely need to visit again. We would have no hesitation in recommending this air bnb - it’s one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you Louise and Mick 😊

we really enjoyed our stay at Michelle's cottage, it was just as advertised: cosy, three comfy bedrooms, nice kitchen dining and living room so we could sit and chat! really handy for town and close to nice cafes, brew brothers and comida being our favourites. Michelle gave us clear instructions and was quick to respond to questions, and we were grateful for the option of paying for a late checkout. thank you!

Great property with amazing views, will definitely be coming back

This was one of those places that you would wish to keep a secret. The views are breathtaking, the area is quiet, perfect for a retreat for people willing to charge their batteries from their busy lives. It's a bit off the beaten track, so you need a car or a taxi from the train station to get there, but you can rest from the busy touristic towns of the Lake District. Jeanette was a very discreet and lovely host. She furbished the place with great care. Thank you Jeanette for hosting us, your place was a dream come true!

Enjoyed our stay at Kate's place for a second visit. Has all the amenities we needed and we can feel very relaxed there. Kate was very helpful with our booking. She dealt very promptly with one minor maintenance issue. She's a thoughtful host and there were fresh flowers, milk and biscuits to welcome us. We enjoyed chatting to Kate. Great place! Super spacious and spotless.. comfortably fit three of us. I really enjoyed the quirky style and colorful decor, and there were plenty of books and games to keep us entertained during downtime. Siobhan was very responsive and helpful throughout. The location is fantastic, easy to walk to shops and restaurants, but still nice and quiet. Plus, the views from the window were a lovely bonus!

Beautiful place in the countryside! Super clean, has everything you might need… and more (like an homemade cake we found in the kitchen waiting for us ❤️) The hosts are super friendly, responsive and helpful, the location is superb if you like quiet and off-the-beaten-track places!

Great caravan in a perfect location, not far from Windermere with a bus stop outside so easy to travel around. Clean, has everything we need with views across rolling sheep fields as an added bonus. Liz is very friendly and helpful, she put a bus timetable out for us and a always responds to messages quickly.

The apartment was clean, easy to access and in the middle of Ambleside, close to everything the town has to offer. Parking was close by. We had one question/request to which George responded in the most positive manner on the same day. Beautiful town. Good People. Good spot. Good value.

Wonderful 4 night stay . Margaret was kind enough to find us in the local pub when we arrived late and helped with getting us into the accommodation - which was lovely. Great location for the town with lovely views over the church. Cant recommend this venue and host enough.

Exactly as described. Set up with everything needed for a self catering stay. Central location to shops and beach. The flat decor is a little tired but was clean and comfortable.

Beautiful property, excellent location. Would love to have stayed longer. Would have preferred the garden to be more private and secure, but this didnt spoil our stay and we had a lovely time . Kitchen was well equipped and the property was bigger than it appeared on the photos!

Such a lovely place, had a nice girly weekend for my hen do with my bridesmaids and maid of honour and the hosts were really sweet. They were happy to co-ordinate with my maid of honour so the whole thing was a really nice surprise and it was overall really private and peaceful with such stunning views. Would highly recommend and think we will definitely be booking again 🤍

With a 15 minute drive into Lancaster and the Forest of Bowland on the doorstep. The Barn was set in an ideal location. It was what my wife and I needed. Some quiet time and fabulous walks in the countryside.

Really brilliant place. Lovely house and great amenities. Really well stocked (unusual to have such good wine glasses!!). Well def use again!

We had a great stay. The house was in a beautiful location, right on the estuary. Plenty of beach for walking. Beds were comfy and ample linen and towels were provided plus a great welcome hamper. The games room provided hours of entertainment and the hot tub was lovely for relaxing in after a busy day. The nearby rock park/quarry was a really interesting day out. We also enjoyed a meal out at the King William IV in Kirksanton. Jenny was a great host and was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
