Cottage holiday rentals in Sonoma County

Our family enjoyed our stay at Sarah’s place. Access to the river was a very short walk from the home. The house was clean and clear of clutter.

This is a charming place, beautifully kept with lovely furnishings. We really enjoyed the well appointed kitchen as we cooked every day. The yard and gardens are beautifully kept, peaceful and serene. Oranges growing right outside the house! We were in town for a wedding, and Santa Rosa is right in the middle of so many enjoyable things to do. We hiked on the CCT out past Bodega Bay, enjoyed restaurants in Healdsburg, visited the redwoods and shopped at the Barlow in Sebastopol. Thank you Cheryl for sharing your lovely home. We had a fabulous time!

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! The hosts, Lynn and John, were friendly and welcoming. We brought our baby and they left out a booster seat, child plates/bowls, toys, and made up the crib for him! We were able to do a barrel tasting, which was fantastic! We loved the hot tub and the garden. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the corn hole and fire pit! Will have to come back!

This was our second time staying at Red Door Retreat and we had another great visit. As before everything was exactly as pictured and described. Checkin was very smooth and communication with Brett was great. We particularly enjoyed the several nice outdoor spaces and the hot tub. Quiet setting but short drive to local attractions and Guerneville town center. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful place to stay! It has everything you need and is steps away from Sonoma Plaza , full of fun shopping and dining! The host was so nice and everything was very clear and easy. We will definitely be back!

We just completed a lovely stay at Emily's place -- the home is on a very quiet road, spacious, well-appointed, and the decor is a great match for the environment. One bedroom with adjoining bathroom is on the ground floor and the other is on the second floor, making it perfect for two couples -- plus there's a bonus bunkbed in the front room for kids. The outdoor space, surrounded by redwoods, has several seating areas with a nice hot tub (seats 4). The neighbors were all very welcoming and nice, we felt right at home in the area. We've been coming up to Russian River for about 20 years and had never heard of this small community, it was wonderfully off the beaten path yet close to everything! There is also secluded and well-maintained neighborhood beach which was great for sunbathing / kayak launching. Emily had alerted us that map apps weren't reliable for the area and sent a pinned location -- definitely use it and pre-load an area map, especially if you'll be arriving in the dark.

Great stay and a short drive into Calistoga. We were visiting several wineries and that part of Napa Valley is our favorite, so this was the perfect spot for us. The place was very clean and comfortable. The windows have screens on them, so at night we opened the windows to get fresh cool air and to hear the creek. Will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the Napa Valley!!!

Quaint little cottage and private deck away from and yet close to the town. Excellent and super-responsive hosts, very sweet and kind. Highly recommend for a serene experience in nature on your next Petaluma trip. :)

Our group of three stayed here for a night to enjoy a vineyard experience before making our way to Yosemite. The cottage was clean and well maintained and the hosts were extremely responsive.

We’re very familiar with the surrounding area and this home is classic to the Russian River vibe. It’s easy to access Jenner Highland preserve, Armstrong woods and river activities. We found the listing to be accurate and very clean. We did not access the small secondary building but appreciated the hot tub. We also were glad we left our dog at home as there is no grass on the property and several stairs to navigate. It would certainly work for some dogs, but not ours was quite large. We did appreciate David’s immediate response to our request to edit our reservation when we decided not to bring our dog; excellent communication!

Linda is a great host. Cares about her guests. She had the room set to be cool upon arrival. The room is spacious and pleasantly comfortable. The Friday farmer's market is an easy walk, just down the street. Quiet neighborhood.

My family and I had an enjoyable weekend stay at Peter’s cottage. The location was beautiful and home was cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed and I appreciated a clean porta-crib that was provided.

I had the very BEST stay at Mark's place! Everything about the stay was magical - the cottage was quaint and lovely, surrounded by redwoods. Mark's hospitality was of the very best I have seen...he was so kind, helpful and caring and lovely to talk with during the stay. He cares so much and wants to make sure his guests have the best experience. And wow the baked goods are incredible! This was the best mini retreat I could have imagined..I will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Valerie’s place! I truly can’t say enough good things about it. The place itself was perfect for us. The kitchen and bathrooms were so well appointed, everything was absolutely spotless, the beds were comfortable, and it was wonderful to have a private backyard. Valerie was so responsive and kind. She thought of absolutely everything, and we were so grateful for her flexibility with our checkout time. We will definitely be coming back!

My friend and I loved our stay at Chad’s property! The place was exactly as described, and super cozy. The fire pit was amazing, and he had extra propane on hand. Both the front and back porches were great for a lowkey hangout. The neighborhood was quiet, quirky, and bohemian. It was a close drive to the local market for ingredients to make dinner in the amazing kitchen. Also it was close to local beaches/sites to launch for a river float. I would 100% go back. Plus we love how it was dog friendly!

Wonderful Airbnb located right outside of proper Cotati and rural enough that you'll hear a rooster crow in the morning. We spent almost a week here leading up to our wedding and felt at ease in this Airbnb. Plenty of complimentary items - something I don't see a lot of at Airbnbs anymore and something of which we took full advantage! Clearly someone loves their label maker because just about everything has a label, which we found amusing, but also quite helpful. Highly recommend this location for your next vacation!

From the moment we arrived, we felt at ease—surrounded by the redwoods, with everything so thoughtfully designed and cared for. You’ve created a place that feels both grounding and inviting, and we appreciated the attention to detail. The location was perfect for exploring—close to the Russian River, Armstrong Redwoods, and not far from the coast. But honestly, just being able to relax in the quiet, surrounded by trees, was a gift in itself. We also really appreciated how warm and responsive you were throughout our stay. We really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Bed was comfortable. Hot tub chemistry was well maintained (not always the case). Best of all, such a great location for anything in Monte Rio. We were there to see a concert and could walk to the beach, to town, and to and from the event. And after the event, we could sit out in the backyard in the hot tub under the beautiful redwoods (which were nicely lit) in the evening. Great spot. Would recommend and will stay there again if we ever have reason to be in Monte Rio. Plus Tom was very communicative as a host which I appreciate.

The Creekside house and extra cottage was ideal for our family. The deck in the middle of redwoods was relaxing for reading. Kitchen was well appointed. We will definitely stay again! Healdsburg is the best small town CA for dining, wine tasting, shopping.

We arrived during a black-out of electricity. Cindy, our hosted, made us feel welcomed and assisted with genuine care of our concerns. We felt welcomed and cared for. The property was charming and it made us feel like we were truly in the country. Each cottage was detached--so no neighbors to listen through walls. Many thoughtful amenities throughout and the continental breakfast had quite a few options, including Oat Milk for those that cannot have dairy product. Great place to stay!
