“It is a great location. It’s a bit of a walk to get to anything. Bikes or car are mostly ideal to get around the resort. The back patio is a nice treat. The bed I slept in was very comfortable. Had a great stay in Snowshoe during these strange times. Most of everything in the village was shut down because of the pandemic. There was still some great hiking to be had. Ended up hiking to “enchanted forest”, and another day made it up to the fire overlook above “bail-out”. On the last day Skip at the horse stables got me on a horse and it was a great time. Would recommend it all. Can’t wait to come back when it’s coated in snow.”
Experience deep quiet and take relaxation to a new level after an exhilarating day of WV adventure. Tucked away in the forest, "Woodland Gem" offers modern convenience and ultimate escape. Only 3.5 miles from the Snowshoe entrance.
“Directions provided were easy to follow. Definitely be sure to have 4 wheel drive. There were a couple cars sitting at the entrance of the “neighborhood” because they didn’t have 4 wheel drive so I’m assuming they couldn’t make it up and down the hills. Some of them are steep. The host was very helpful when I asked about grocery stores near on our way in since we had no clue about the area. Definitely be sure to stop at a grocery store before you get too close for all of your items. There is an IGA 30 minutes away but the town has a little small store that is basically a gas station that has your basic basic items such as bread, milk, some canned items, etc. I’d also recommend renting your ski and snowboard equipment from the ski barn that’s really close to the house on the way to snowshoe. It was $35 per day compared to $54 per day on snowshoe the day of ($40 if you book online ahead of time). So any bit saved helps! Also, if you plan on going to night skiing at Silvercreek, I highly recommend you just drive your vehicle over and pay to park. The wait and lines for the shuttle are insane and would take you forever to get back and forth, it’s just less frustrating to pay the money and park! The house itself was clean and we definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to others. The hot tub was a hit and we created forever memories together in Slatyfork!”

“This place is clean and quaint. The host was very responsive and quick to offer any help when needed. Couldn’t of been easier to check in and out and the location was beautiful! The hot tub was relaxing and nice, a rain storm came in and getting to watch it from the panoramic windows was awesome.”
