Lorette’s place is a tiny slice of heaven. I highly recommend staying here. The house is older but that’s what makes it so wonderful and have such great charm. The house was on a dead end which made it incredibly private and quiet. We were lucky enough to see a beautiful, bright rainbow and we’re treated to our very first time seeing the northern lights!! Rachel, Lorette’s sister was extremely friendly and helpful and they are both there for you if you need anything very responsive. I have to say it again I highly highly recommend staying here and I will definitely be back. If you have children she had such a wonderful stocked location of toys, coloring books sidewalk chalk and for adults plenty of movies and games and crossword puzzles . The backyard was my favorite with the huge deck and the view of the field and path to the water with the beautiful pine trees at the end. I enjoyed every morning with my tea and the birds thank you so much, Lorette!!

Jon was an absolutely fantastic host, first of all. We had to cut our visit unexpectedly short and he was very kind and understanding about it. Regarding the airB&B - I would recommend it, but you absolutely need to know what you're booking. The place is heavily circus-themed (do not book if you're afraid of clowns) and quite remote. You have to be okay with small bugs and a few odd design quirks - like the front door in one of the bedrooms. But overall, the location is gorgeous, the place is charming, the cactus solarium was beautiful in the spring sun, and Jon was a fantastic an accommodating host. I would recommend, just make sure this is the right place for you based on my description - this place won't be for everyone, but for people who do like it this will make for an amazing stay.

Jackie’s place is amazing!!!!! You will not be disappointed. The home has absolutely everything you need, along with an amazing view. We spent 5 wonderful nights and enjoyed it every minute. We highly recommend Outlook Lodge.

Gorgeous property. Better than photos convey. Decor is very tasteful, bathroom large and beautiful shower. Everything was done thoughtfully and professionally. Hosts were very responsive and clear. We got some snow during our stay and they were on top of having everything shoveled. Stayed for Christmas while visiting family and couldn’t get over how cozy the place was. I felt like I was staying in the Nova Scotian version of Kate Winslet’s cottage from “the holiday”. Would be gorgeous in the summer too.

We really enjoyed Kelly’s place. Lots of room, everything we needed. Great information for exploring the area. Lovely beaches - the tides were not in our favour but we made do and shifted our days a bit. If we decide to come back this way we would not hesitate to book again.

Located on a picturesque small island, Mont’s place provides a tranquil and beautiful stay as you can dream of. With the exceptionally detailed information and instructions shared by Mont by email beforehand as well as in hard copies on site, it is easy to find and use what you need. We enjoyed every moment at the place, particularly cooking at the handy kitchen and playing UNO by the warm steel stove. The Crescent Beach that connects the island with the mainland is unique - you can drive on the beach in low tide!

Our stay was amazing and we have no complaints. We would definitely book this spot again! Check in and check out were simple and the host was quick to respond. All of the rooms in the house are bright with natural light and there is a view of the ocean from the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed and a big fridge. The gate to barricade the stairs was very handy to keep the children safe. The yard was well kept and included various gardens. Lots of space both inside and out. You can walk down the road to the ocean in about ten minutes. Thank you for a great week!

This place was so comfortable and inviting. The bathroom was also newly renovated and beautiful. The mattress in the upstairs bedroom was even cozier than an upscale hotel mattress too!

A great place to stay when exploring SW shore of Nova Scotia. The hosts communications were excellent. The bed was very comfortable and very nice property. highly recommend.

This was a great stay and we hope to be back. The weather was less than favorable but it didn't matter, we loved staying here. Beautiful location and an amazing home. It had everything we needed!

My dog, girlfriend, and I stayed at The Petite Retreat for my birthday and had a wonderful time. The area was close to the ferry and there were plenty of things to do in the area. Alana gave great recommendations on places to visit (highly recommend Cape Forchu) and there were some great food spots within a close driving distance. Alana was very reliable when it came to communication and instructions. The only drawback was that there was no running water but there is water access in the tiny home so very small problem with a easy solution. I will definitely be recommending The Petite Retreat to any friends interested in visiting Nova Scotia!!

Loved this quiet peaceful space for a family getaway. Close to gorgeous beaches. 15-20min away from Carters beach and Summerville beach. The latter is a great beginner surfing beach.

We had a wonderful stay in Clark's Harbour. So much to do and very serene. Jorge provided almost everything needed. The cottage was VERY comfortable. A great place to relax. We visited as much as we could from Yarmouth to Shelburne. Hawk Beach is just breathtaking. It is huge, clean, very few people, and the water was so blue! I have a passion for lighthouses so we visited as many as we could. My dog was very happy too. So glad Jorge's is pet friendly. Barrington has all the stores you need. Everyone was very friendly. We loved the wild life, deer in the yard, crows having their meeting on the fence posts, seagulls everywhere and beautiful great blue herons! We just loved this little place. One of my favourite things was the teeny tiny lamp on the window sill by the couch - it was so adorable. Thank you for the beautiful painted rock. It is now with my beach rocks around my lighthouse out front at home. To be able to see the bay out the front and the waves out back!

Highly recommend this place!! I stayed here with three of my friends and it had everything we needed. It was a clear night and the stars were out so bright. This property also has beautiful views of the lake and is in a very peaceful area. To top it off, the host is wonderful at communicating! Check in was made extremely simple for us. Would definitely stay here again.

I had a different reason for staying at Mink Lake ... we are considering purchasing a property on Mink Lake and I wanted a place to stay that would allow me to get a better feel for the lake and the area. Amanda was super helpful in accommodating my timeline and duration and was very good at communicating throughout our reservation and stay. Much appreciated!

The place was wonderful and well equipped. It was in beautiful condition and there so many convenience items available. It felt fresh and comfortable. We enjoyed walking to the beach, the hot tub and the fire pit area. A great spot to unwind.

Nice spot right on the main street. Very convenient for a concert at the Astor Theatre. There's a nice path to walk along the water a couple of streets over... Just a heads up we couldn't find any paper towel or napkins so if you plan on eating you might want to bring some :-) ... Would stay again! thank you

Great spot to stay! Super close to both Summerville and Carters Beach. Very clean and comfortable place. We wish we could’ve made use of the fire pit/hot tub as it was lovely, it poured rain during our whole weekend stay. Would love to return to this same location for a future stay.

What an amazing place! The view is amazing and the house is beautiful. We listened to the waves all night. This was just the staycation we needed.

Wow! This Airbnb was absolutely gorgeous! Meticulously clean throughout,& the beds were very comfortable.The view outdoors was stunning and our stay could not of been more perfect.. definitely rate it a 10/10!! We enjoyed our time at Castaway Ocean Lodge. The location is very peaceful and scenic. We wanted to escape from the city and relax while taking in the ocean views- the deck was a perfect place to hangout. We had already been to the area before, so we knew that most of our time would be spent at the cottage. It had everything we needed. Loads of board games, all cooking necessities and even some kayaks! We explored Crescent beach in Lockeport and drove down to Carter’s Beach for the day (well worth it). Thanks for having us!
