Family-friendly holiday rentals in Santa Cruz

This is such an amazing house in the Potrero area. Just a quick drive up the hill from downtown, easy access to restaurants in the beach. The caretakers went above and beyond to make our stay special, and the hosts were really responsive when needed. As other reviewers have said the pictures don’t nearly capture how wonderful the view is from the property. We were surprised by the overall size in space in the house, it was much larger than we anticipated but very nice to have all of the room. I would recommend this property for an upscale getaway to anyone.

The place is very close to beautiful beaches, without unnecessary noise, accommodation equal to what is offered on the page, clean, well equipped, very good attention from Andrés for all the concerns we had, the facilities very clean and safe. I would definitely come back in the future. It is advisable to have a high vehicle for these rainy dates, to be able to move within the area, since the entrance street is ballast

We love going to Reserva Conchal and Daphne's place had everything we wanted, from plenty of bedrooms, to a great location and view overlooking the golf course. Once inside the reserve, we had access to both The Westin and The W and all the amenities they had to offer. Great place to spend a weekend.

Great location, our only wish is that the property would have an elevator. Everything about this condo was exactly as listed, great private beach to anyone that finds this place.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Ilyas place. We had asked Ilya for recommendations of places to eat and see while we were there and he sent over detailed messages of places around the area. He provided us a thorough walkthrough of the condo and the property. Made us feel right at home. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Coco

Absolutely five star location, condo and resort. So many amenities and attention to details at the condo. We were a family of four with grandparents joining and the condo was the perfect fit! We were all drawn to the wrap around porch and hammocks instantly. As other reviewers stated Andreina is super sweet and helpful. We were able to explore the resort and take advantage of the pool as well as several private beaches within the property. I would highly recommend going to a grocery store on the way in or having them delivered upon arrival. The kitchen was so well stocked we ate almost every meal at the condo for the week we were there. On our last day the howler monkeys came right to the the trees across from the condo to wish us fare well! What an unforgettable trip! Hope to one day be lucky enough to return!

Cabinas El Ceibo was a great place for our family group of seven (all adults) to stay--close to the beach, a kitchen to be able to make food, and our own space to be together. The kitchen had a blender, which we loved, as we bought fruit and made our own smoothies several times. It also had other necessary items (frying pans, spatulas, salt & pepper) to be able to cook breakfast. A sharper knife to cut fruit would have been nice, but we made do with the dull ones. The house is one of several in a small area with a gate that leads directly to the beach. Attached to the washer is a spinner to remove excess water before hanging clothes on the lines next to the house. Very convenient. The Spanish-speaking family (& friendly dog) that lives next door takes care of the place and gives you the keys when you check in. The monkeys throw mangos on the roof early in the morning. Startling the first time. Also, we left shoes on the beach without someone watching them and two pair went missing.

What a spot for a vacation! The location was prime and the room itself was well suited for everything you need. This is a hidden gem in the area. Things I appreciated the most: The ocean was steps away for a swim at anytime. The shop keepers and restaurant owners downstairs are great people and pleasant to talk to during your stay. Waffle monkey (breakfast) and Portofino are the best spots for breakfast, fresh seafood, low cost happy hours, and fire show at night during sunset. You can literally walk anywhere in minutes. There is 3 separate door with locks to get to your top floor rental so this spot is very safe! If you are lucky, you'll notice a 5 foot iguana that rests in the trees to your right off the porch, spending days in the trees. Alvaro is the mgmt person who helps you. He speaks great English and responds rapidly to questions. Can't wait to return and bring family. The two units next to each other would be an ideal joint rental for a group of 5-7 people. Highly recommend!!!

Nice comfortable and clean place, right in the center of Playa Grande. There's everything in the house for a short and long stay. We recommand.

i just loved the accommodation is as the description the beds are great allowing a good rest, the pool and barbecue area great and Cartagena is a beautiful village to enjoy , you have access to many beaches , Hersol always pending and with a lovely kindness, I loved it, I recommend it 100% , I hope to return soon.

This is a great drop-in spot for families. The pool is private and just right to let the kids play while you can see them, bug-free while sitting inside. Super easy to walk anywhere to the beach / restaurants. And the hosts are incredible to work with. We’d easily choose this place again when visiting Sámara.

This was the final stay of our 2 week trip in Costa Rica and easily our favorite stay. David was such a lovely host, a kindred spirit as my wife would say, and very helpful. The condo had everything you could need, even beach equipment like chairs, cooler and boogie boards. It was very homey and stocked with all your general essentials, even less common items like a crockpot! We had a 10/10 stay and hope to be back again soon! Thank you David!

Everything at Jeff's was more than I expected. I am so grateful and thankful to him for sharing his Oasis with us, everything was out of this world. We spent our mornings at the beach enjoying the sunrise, followed by playing with Carver, and our afternoons in the beautiful pool. Our space was completely separate from Jeff's house, had a full kitchen, bathroom, AC and was clean. The location is walkable to the beach and restaurants, everything you need is close by. Jeff, and Carver, are so friendly and personable, his local knowledge was invaluable. He gave us tips on private beaches, delicious restaurants and different ways for us to enjoy everything Los Pargos has to offer. He really made our stay there so special and we will be visiting him again the next time we're in Costa Rica. Jeff truly cares about the space and wants his guests to experience Pura Vida, and it shows. Thank you, thank you, thank you Jeff, and Carver, for everything!!

Staying at Rancho De Linda was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the lush Costa Rican jungle on the beach, it offers the perfect blend of natural charm to fully immerse yourself in the local ecosystem. The property is surrounded by vibrant wildlife — from colorful frogs, friendly iguanas, beautiful butterfly’s, hermit crabs and chirping birds. The views are breathtaking and the sounds of the ocean are mesmerizing — making it a true ecological retreat. Douglas and Irena were delightful hosts. We enjoyed visits from their sweet pup Bambi and loved the availability of the housekeeper. The place is very clean and well taken care of. We loved our Yoga class Irena taught under the palapa and enjoyed the delicious cooking of two local chefs. We drove into Tamarindo for the day and visited the Diamanté Eco Adventure Park for a thrilling zip line. This home is a great location walkable to Nosara restaurants and shops. Worth noting, although the listing pictures a golf cart there is not actually a golf cart for use. We walked to nearly everything but a few dinners farther away required a passenger van pick up. Ola Coffee was a 12 minute walk, but Rolling Waves Coffee was closer and preferred. The walking was good for us. Wen also walked to the beach from here. In CR, I have learned that you have to get used to living with bugs so the ants are plentiful inside and the mosquitos are intense outside by the pool... bring lots of spray if it is rainy season like our trip. Max was incredibly helpful to us with assisting us with adventure plans, lining up transportation when we needed it, and recommending dinners - He is amazing Overall this was a beautiful stay, with wonderful aesthetics throughout the home with wood vaulted ceilings and beautiful bedrooms. It is a fabulous home Sharon and Garry.

Wow, what a beautiful spot. The views are breathtaking, surrounded by 180 degrees of jungle canopy and the ocean below. The pictures really don't do it justice. Torrie and Esthefan met us to personally take us to the villa upon arrival, which is a short 5 minute drive from the town and beaches of Samara and was a great jumping-off spot for adventures. We spent mornings in town, or exploring nearby waterfalls and beaches, and afternoons cooling down by the pool or relaxing in the shade with a book. The outdoor bbq and well equipped kitchen was perfect for making meals, and we had a local family of monkeys visit us daily, along with Coaties, lizards, frogs, crabs and a variety of birds. The villa was equipped with lots of fans, which were welcomed as there is no A/C in the villa, and with temps reaching 100 degrees the fans were very much needed at night. We had a great time and look forward to returning to this beautiful spot one day. Thanks for an amazing time!
