Villa holiday rentals in San Carlos

Ferminc's place was absolutely stunning. The view from our cabin was gorgeous., excellent value for the price we paid. We love El Castillo , a small town, but fits our needs. The restaurant served delicious food with a flair .

We had a great time on the outskirts of Monteverde in this home. close enough to get to the attractions too. TV was good with apps available netflix etc. for when it was chucking it down with rain! can get a bit loud in the heavy storms with rain on the roof. The place was big enough to feel like a little home in the mountains. Clean and well thought out. Hot tub was a bonus! Thank you for having us.

I cannot say enough about how great this stay was our bnb was amazing, but our trip was truly made by Guillermo! He is a local who has a transportation service and was recommended by Rafael. He not only drove us from place to place regardless the time or distance with a smile on his face and became a part of group( inside jokes and all!)

We loved our stay and enjoyed the house and the amenities. The hosts were very thoughtful, very responsive, and very kind/friendly. Cold bottles of water and snacks were there when we arrived. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We used the pool several times and we were the only ones there each time. Being in a gated community provided an extra feeling of safety. Having a washer and dryer was very helpful. We would definitely stay again!

The villa is truly exceptional! With a balcony overlooking Arenal Volcano it is truly a unique place.

We had the best time! What a wonderful experience. Everything was provided to us that we needed. The air conditioning worked great. The shower water was really hot. And all of the tap water was filtered and drinkable.

From beginning to end, everything was absolutely perfect. Arnaldo was so easy to communicate with and answered all questions quickly. I knew this place would be gorgeous but the pics really do not do justice to how insanely gorgeous the property truly is. I would 10000% stay again if in area. Felt like luxury! Truly loved this spot sooooo very much! Only a 15 min drive to La Fortuna center. Thank you, Arnaldo and family! We could not have been more pleased!! Wonderful stay!!!

This place was incredible! Had a perfect combination of feeling like a true costa rican build with a sense of modern such as an outdoor shower and jacuzzi tub on the master balcony. This was by far our favorite part! Spent almost all of our time sitting in the rocking chairs and enjoying the quiet, and peaceful views and sounds. Aside from those spaces, the kitchen was just perfectly stocked with what we needed, beds and bedding plush and comfortable and we were able to comfortably watch a movie while it poured rain! The surroundings of the property are beautiful, so much lush vegetation, and the pool, which was slightly heated was a great bonus! I would just recommend that if you are getting there later, the restaurants in the immediate area closed at 7pm and it was dark and foggy to go out looking for others. Maybe it was the season, or something else but we recommend other travelers to go prepared and / or eat on the way in.

This location is so beautiful and unique! It is like being in a multi tiered treehouse in the jungle that is a block from civilization. One afternoon we had monkeys visit us and play on the trees around the house and roof! The host and housekeeper are very responsive. Know that some beds and rooms are separate apartments. But the main house is beautiful wood with an open layout that we all met up in by the fireplace in the evening. Amazing memories and trip!

We were two families with teenage kids and really enjoyed the sleeping arrangements and that each adult couple and sets of kids had their own bungalow. The area was peaceful and just outside of town but quick and easy drive/ride into town (no problem Ubering to town). It’s a very authentic accommodations but still had AC and full kitchen. The owner was very helpful and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great home with a centralized location. Very walkable to nearby shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. Our group of 6 had plenty of space to share and relax. Mario and Carlos went above and beyond to help coordinate our transportation and excursions. The house had many amenities including air conditioners in each bedroom and box fans that can be used in the common areas if you need to cool off after a long day of activities. Two bedrooms have excellent closet space and the other two have space to spread out personal items. The 4th bedroom and laundry room are secluded towards the back of the house but you may need a raincoat since there is not a covered path. The condensation in the fridge may pool on the top shelf - be mindful of any items you may store. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful place in a secure gated community!

Our group of 8 adults and 2 teenagers stayed at Allan & Jorge’s villa, and it exceeded all our expectations. The villa offered the perfect balance of privacy and a shared space, ideal for our group. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and communication with our hosts was seamless. We especially appreciated the thoughtful welcome gift of fruit and drinks. Thank you, Allan & Jorge!

We thought the place was perfect! I traveled with my young daughters who loved having the pool just off the porch. And not very far at all from the beach. The condo was clean, quiet and refreshing. We didn’t even explore the rest of the property because everything we needed was right there. Close to the gate to exit / enter which made walking simple. We walked to main part of Coco for meals but really loved the location being on the quiet side of town and the restaurants/ grocery by the condo. The decor was so fresh and beachy. Very comfortable. The condo had all we needed. I would 100% recommend and book if I travel back to Coco.

Absolutely stunning stay! The host was incredibly responsive and gave us a full tour upon arrival. He was also very flexible as our arrival time changed due to traffic and flights. The pictures don’t do the property justice—it’s immaculate, peaceful, and beautifully designed with thoughtful details throughout. You’re fully immersed in the rainforest with the sounds of wildlife and even a family of sloths on site! There are so many areas to relax and enjoy nature. The on-site staff was attentive and helpful with anything we needed. Even though there are a few other homes on the property, it still felt very private and secluded. Perfect for both small and large groups, with the option to rent the entire estate. Highly recommend and would love to return! Thank you, Andy!

We had such a great time at Alfonso’s house! The location near the river and out of town was perfect for what we were looking for. Highly recommend!

Amazing place to stay with friends or family and close to La Fortuna downtown and the El Salto rope swing. Great backyard with grill and pool that is covered from the rain.

Stayed there with a very large family group including children, infants, and toddlers. Host was helpful and gracious with check-in and stayed in touch throughout our stay to make sure everything was fine. The space fit our group great. The pool was a hit with the youngsters. It was an easy walk to downtown La Fortuna whenever anyone wanted to get out. Just what we needed.

Great spot in a quiet neighborhood, close to the supermarket and restaurants. We walked to the Red Frog several times for coffee and meals. 20 min drive to Arenal Park and Mystico. Great touches around the home. Would definitely stay again!

We had a great stay at Sunset House! Randall was very responsive to all of our questions. The kitchen was well stocked for the nights we decided to cook in. The location was convenient- close to restaurants and a lot of the attractions. We even saw sloths on our walk around the property! The only hiccup that we had was unlocking the door from the inside, as the lock is a bit sticky

Joshua's place is the perfect spot to make a pit stop for a couple of nights. The house is very clean and comfortable and has a gorgeous view of the volcano at sunset. The washing machine was a little tricky to figure out but we got there in the end. You definitely need a car for getting into La Fortuna, but the neighbourhood around the house is really beautiful and interesting, and definitely worth seeing in addition to the bustle of La Fortuna. Overall, really good value for money.

First and foremost, the view was absolutely incredible. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the porch or reading from the small pool with the scenery of this villa. Everything was exactly as described and was very clean. Cristina, the co-host, was responsive to all our messages/questions/concerns and was even able to provide room service. There were also horses out and about in the pastures behind the villa! The only downside to this place was the location. The roads are unpaved and hard to navigate, especially in the rain or dark. The location is pretty remote and far from any big towns, so be prepared to drive, even for groceries. The listing mentioned that you would need a 4x4, so be sure you have one, you’ll definitely need it. Otherwise, I have nothing bad to say! Overall, this place was great and we loved it. The hosts were very friendly and their property was extremely welcoming!

Marco was an amazing host. He was very responsive and helped us with anything that we needed. The property was beautiful. Felt private, loved the little lounge pool and the hammocks all over the property. The back patio was nice and big and we could sit out there and watch the rain and the animals. We saw howler monkeys and tons of birds since Marco puts fruit out for them every day. Having a washer and dryer was an added bonus. The location was perfect and super close to town. Each room had its own AC unit which kept the place nice and cool.
