House holiday rentals in Saint-Jean-du-Gard

Due to personal circumstances we had to rearrange this holiday 2 times, of which Remy was very understanding. We booked the villa based on how well the photos looked but were really not ready for just how much better the place was in reality! Le Magnanerie is tucked quietly away in a totally idyllic spot in a gorgeous old French hamlet, boasting the most impressive westerly views across the private pool of the Cévennes, with stunning sunsets. The covered outside area is spacious and perfect to escape the direct summer sun, and the thick stone building is naturally cool. Comfortably set over 3 pretty floors with portable air conditioning in the loft bedroom area. Kids bunk beds are perfectly placed and even though everything is wooden, nothing creaks. Local agent Deborah was very helpful and after driving from the UK, we were pleasantly surprised to have had our best family holiday to date here! We rarely return to holiday destinations, however we will certainly be coming back. Merci

The Atelier is a truly exceptional place to stay. It is a unique, beautifully styled property in a wonderfully peaceful location. Staying at the Atelier allows you to completely unwind surrounded by nature whilst being close to fantastic places to visit, like Nîmes and the Pont du Gard. The pool was very welcome on a hot day! Yolène is a wonderful, very responsive host, who has created a very special place to stay. She gave us great recommendations for local restaurants, shops and fêtes when we arrived but completely respected our privacy after that. We would definitely recommend the Atelier to our friends (in fact we have already done so!) and hope to have the opportunity to return one day.

We had a great stay at the magnanerie du Monteil. The place is quiet and charming. We were able to benefit from Lydie's many tips on activities (hiking, canoeing, swimming in rivers, visiting charming villages, lunch in good restaurants). A perfect stay!

The property is lovely and the hosts were very welcoming and respectful and helpful with suggestions. Our only critique would be that the pool whilst lovely is not private and shared with the hosts who admittedly did not use it whilst we were there and if you like me love to cook the oven was portable and a slight challenge to use. The village and walks were incredible and the location near to Uzes, Nimes and Avignon makes for a lovely stay. A big thank you to Pascal and Catherine x

The place is simply sublime. The house is beautiful and the environment is a real postcard. It is a peaceful place, between stones and nature. The owners are adorable and Blandine is really responsive. Thank you very much.

Our stay was perfect from start to finish. The place is beautiful. The garden, pool, sauna, petanque court and house, everything is nice, clean and well thought out. The bedding is extremely comfortable. And Sandrine is so kind! Thank you again for this welcome and this great stay.

Silvia and Joseph are really super hosts. The reception is very warm and the accommodation itself is exceptional. La petite Clède cévenole au bord de l'Herault is very clean and practical: everything you need is there. The cottage has been renovated with an eye for authenticity and furnished with love. It is in a remote location but is still easily accessible. Due to the nice chats, the spontaneous helpfulness and the good balance between privacy and pleasant contact, we immediately felt at home. Staying in la petite Clède cévenole is great and we can absolutely recommend it.

My parents stayed in Stéphane's place and had this to say: "He was such a kind, helpful and mannerly host. The accommodation was excellent, really comfortable and clean. He left us teas, coffees etc. He checked that we were happy with everything a couple of times without interfering. He was most accommodating. He has a swimming pool which is lovely and clean. The gardens are amazing with small rock and pebbled pathways, trees and grassy areas. There were a number of villages within driving distance which had anything you might need to buy and lovely areas to explore. We have stayed in many Gites and AirBnBs over the years and we both agree that this is the best one we have ever stayed in."

It’s a beautiful house located in a nice little village. The house has two terraces so that you always find sun. It’s very clean and functional while preserving its cosy cottage style. Just perfect. We will come back.

We were looking for a feeling of "alone in the world" lost in a generous nature, and bingo! All while having the comfort of a well-equipped and warm home. François is very attentive and responsive, very pleasant too. The view is memorable, the surrounding hikes wonderful. We loved the songs of the birds and the river below. We recommend it 100%!

Our stay in Suomen was simply wonderful a true hidden gem in the South of France! The accommodation was spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and full of charm. You can really feel the care and love the host has put into every detail. What made it extra special was the peaceful setting surrounded by nature, perfect for unwinding, yet still within easy reach of nearby sights and villages. We had breakfast outside every morning, with a view of rolling hills and the sound of birds all around pure magic. Our host was warm, helpful, and always available if we needed anything, while also giving us space to relax and enjoy. We felt truly welcomed and at home from the very first moment. If you love peace, nature and freedom, this place is fantastic. A beautiful, diverse environment with many hiking trails right next door, but also further away. We explored the region by car and took several walks with the dog. But coming back was always a party, and then we received a warm welcome from Wallace, in a nice, well-kept and tasteful cottage with everything on and off. Admired the starry night from the deck chair and the last night a thunderstorm spectacle as the icing on the cake. Haryhanta provided the delicious and fresh eggs in time and she was there if we needed anything. We highly recommend it and we would love to discover more in the Cévennes at Harryhanta.

An incredibly pleasant place, a peaceful and bright environment. It was a real pleasure to stay in Alexandre's house: the rooms are spacious and pleasant, the outside perfectly maintained and Alexandre's welcome perfect, knowing that he was able to be very flexible with the arrival time.
