Places to stay in Tolland
Cozy log cabin nestled into a hillside with wonderful view of the lake (Cranberry Pond). Located in the Berkshire Mountains of southwestern Massachusetts the cabin comfortably sleeps 6 people in 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. ( If you want to have 8 people in your party we also have a sleeper sofa with a queen bed foldout that is located in the living room). Our grand children love sleeping on it! There is a full kitchen complete with all utensils, dishes, glasses, a microwave and coffee maker. There is a full bathroom on the first floor and a half bath located in the basement. We have added an enclosed "outside shower" with hot and cold water with enough room for changing if you wish. (It is great for rinsing off after a day at the beach or for a "starlit evening shower"). The cabin features a lovely covered deck equipped with Adirondack chairs, a gas grill and a dining table all of which overlook Cranberry Pond. Great for enjoying outside dining with beautiful sunsets. The cabin also has free WIFI and free Netflex access. The cabin is a one minute walk from the beach area. The beach has a men's and a women's restroom facility on site and is bordered by the boat and kayak storage areas. The cabin rental includes unlimited use of a row boat, a kayak and a Sunfish sailboat (specific information will be provided for the use of each watercraft). "Please note"...The Wildwood Association does not allow any outside boats to be brought in to the complex for use in the two lakes. The Association works very hard in keeping the lakes weed free and by limiting the boats brought in they have kept the lakes in fantastic shape. Cranberry Pond is great for fishing (Bass, crappies, bluegills, sunfish, pickerel, and bullheads are plentiful). There is a second pond called Otter pond that is located about a ten minute walk from the cabin. This pond is stocked every year with trout and has a small intimate beach and also has a men's and women's bath house. A good place for the kids to go looking for frogs and salamanders.
One of the nice things about having a cabin in the Wildwood complex is that it is a very secure area. They have security personnel that are constantly driving about the complex and it is a very quiet, peaceful place where relaxing is easy!!! • We have stayed in Robert's lovely, rustic cabin several times. He is an excellent host, with quick communication, a seamless process and many thoughtful touches from a welcoming bottle of wine to a bucket of worms for fishing. We enjoy walking the woodsy community and relaxing on the deck that overlooks the lake. Always a wonderful weekend in Tolland for my whole family. The sole drawback, if you would call it that, is the community is quite isolated. If you forget anything, you're in for a bit of a drive to buy it. The peace is worth packing thoroughly.

  • A wonderful locale. The ‘pond’ and beach are fabulous. We had 5 adults and were roomy and comfortable. Easy commute to Bliss Farms. Friendly neighbors

    Derek2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect! It was quiet and private, but any neighboring families we encountered at the beach or on trails were equally as friendly and welcoming. Robert was so communicative and helpful. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon!

    Sophia2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful week on Cranberry Lake. The cabin is fine, the porch overlooking the lake is divine! Loved the quiet beauty of the location, the lake, swimming, kayaking, hiking. We had one issue and Robert responded immediately, going above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. We'd stay again, for sure!

    Beth2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Robert keeps the cabin very clean and he offers plenty of tips for the area. The deck was outstanding for eating dinner or just enjoying nature and the lake. He had a great gas grill available too! Inside, his cabin had ample room to sit and play games and talk. A good kitchen with all the basics for any meal. A great simple space if you're looking for a lakeside getaway.

    Matthew2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time - spent four nights at this cabin with 5 adults and toddler. The lake is beautiful - sandy beach and clear water, not crowded at all. The host provides a sunfish sailboat, a kayak, and a rowboat. The cabin is across the street from the lake. It's a 3 minute walk to the beach. You can sit on the cabin deck and see the lake. It's a bit of a distance to grocery stores or restaurants, but we happily cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. We were delighted to be there!

    Russ2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, friendly & a ton of things to do in area. You won’t be disappointed.

    Janice2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A great place for a friends getaway! Robert was on top of everything - from quick responses to thoughtful touches in the cabin with extra info for our stay. EVERYTHING you need to know is in his very thorough binder. Top notch communication that made it easy for our group of 5 not to have to bother him other than upon arrival/departure. A bit confusing re checking in with the Wildwood community security - we were expecting some kind of road checkpoint like a little building a gate for check in but was just some staff on the side of the road. We missed them the first time! The area is wonderful. We did some swimming, browsing of local shops, restaurant sampling, and hiking outside of Wildwood where the cabin is. The Wildwood area is very peaceful and nice to wander around. The beach and lake (a 2 min walk from the cabin) were perfect for the lounging and swimming our group wanted to do. The cabin itself was cozy and just the right rustic feel we were looking for. We had no complaints! If I ever go back to the Berkshires with a group (and I hope to) Robert's cabin will be on my list.

This is what happens when a realtor and an expressive-therapist make a vacation home. You get a decent property, in a good location with little things to do to help you de-stress, have fun and connect with friends and family. Eighteen minutes from downtown Lee, in the private Sherwood Forest Community with lake access, and laundry, this 1500 sq. ft home built in 1987 rejuvenates. Our hope is that you will leave here a little more relaxed, recharged or maybe even a little bit happier.
Set on a 3/4 acre lot in the peaceful and serene forest this home has hardwood floors, granite counters, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and washer/dryer. The open concept living room, kitchen/dining area is a bit tight but can definitely accommodate 6. The beds and linens are comfortable and good quality. We hope and expect you to have a good night's sleep and be well fed. Kitchen has all the basic tools you need to cook a meal.
The Real Estate: Therapy house is located in the Sherwood Forest Lake District, on Big Robin Lake, the largest of five. Guests have access to the boat beach, Will Scarlet Beach and North Beach. The Sherwood Shoppe across the lake is a cute, down-home, country style restaurant and store that has all sorts of goodies and supplies you might need. There are lots of little hills in The Forest that make for good walking or jogging.

It was nice to have a kitchen stocked with pots, pans, utensils, cups/plates, appliances etc. Edson was kind enough to let us know we could use their sleds! We highly recommend this place for your next family vacation! Beautiful and clean home with friendly hosts!

NEW GUEST HEALTH PROTOCOL: 24 HOUR SPACING BETWEEN ALL STAYS FOR ADDITIONAL SANITIZING AND CLEANING PROCESSES. The Windy Top Cottage is an old stone building constructed in 1932 by H. L. Bitter, a wealthy Hartford businessman. This area of Granby was a favorite of the Hartford elite for a place to 'summer' in the early part of the 20th Century. The cottage was the quarters for the domestic staff while the family was in North Granby. With an elevation of 970, we offer clean, fresh country air!
Dawn and Ken have refreshed the interior with newly sanded "pumpkin pine" floors and warm, decorator wall tones. The cottage has over 1000 sq.ft. of living space with the original bath fixtures from the 30s and a huge stone fireplace with propane fired gas logs for those cool mountain nights. Although there is no kitchen, the large first-floor great room has a small coffee service area with a 1935 Fridgidaire refrigerator filled with cold drinks. Limited cooking is available with several electric appliance offered. The second-floor bedrooms are spacious and yet very cozy. The home has an English Country House feel with all furnishings provided by Dawn’s painted furniture business: A Girl With A Paintbrush. Flower boxes adorn several windows that overlook an herb and flower garden. The property is accessed by original brick walkways and lead to the private entry door. The exterior patio out the rear door is covered by an awning and has solar twinkle lights. The firepit makes great campfires for grilling hot dogs and making S'Mores.
Granby is an "upscale", small suburban Hartford community with tons of nearby amenities and located in an area known for working dairy farms, equestrian centers, apple orchards and farm wineries. Our beautiful community also offers self-serve farm stands, homemade ice cream stores, art galleries, country libraries as well as gourmand evening dining establishments. The Windy Top Cottage is located in an area with breathtaking views of Massachusetts (walk just a little more than a half mile to the amazing Mary Edwards Property) and a 5 minute drive from the best waterfalls in Connecticut! We are surrounded by thousands of acres of hiking/walking trails, a game refuge and several state forests. Our street has huge old oak trees with amazing old stone walls and is a local favorite for jogging and walking. Ask us to send you our "Granby Hiking Guide".... Connecticut is home to many historic covered bridges, waterfalls and a few ghost towns. See our local guidebook for more details.

  • Nancy's place is simple and modest with a comfy bed in a quiet and dark bedroom on the 2nd floor. It was all I needed for a one night stay in western Mass. She was attentive in her communication and generous in her sharing of food (which I did not take her up on). I arrived at night in the dark and was grateful she'd given me tip that hers was the second house on the left. Lights were on and it was very welcoming in the rainy dark. Kitty cat greeted me on the couch.

  • Charming cottage steps to the lake. The place is set up for a nice relaxing weekend and by set up, i mean they have thought of everything from bathroom necessities to bug spray to fireplace setup. The kitchen was fully functional and the grill was super easy to use with all the tools available. The boat was an extra treat to have an easy way to get on the water without needing a reservation.

    Anuj2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Patty’s East Otis cottage was a wonderful weekend getaway. Patty (the house owner) thought of everything, from extra toothbrushes to small notes around the house to call out extra things to make the house more comfortable. You can tell Patty has put a lot of love into the cottage, it was filled with games, firewood, and coffee when we arrived. Check-in was easy and Patty was available for any questions we had. Location was great as well, a 5 minutes walk down to the lake. Our 2 dogs had a blast hanging around the house and exploring the area. The only call out was confusion on who to communicate with - The Evolve Team who listed Patty’s cottage or Patty herself. Communication with Patty was a 5/5, communication with The Evolve Team could have been better and they could have done a better job explaining who the main point of contact for the stay was going to be. Overall, a great stay, a great place, and we hope to return again.

Our place is on a gentle flowing river, close to waterfalls, walks and the Berkshire cultural sites like Tanglewood and Jacobs Pillow . You’ll love our place because of the river, the deck, the hot tub; complete tranquility and a home away from home. Close to some great sites and activities, far enough away to escape. • We had a wonderful time at Patrick and Fiona’s home! It was impeccably clean, large and comfortable. Lots of old home character. The river is lovely, and the hot tub was highly enjoyable. Just enough personal touches around the house to make it feel homey and give you an idea of the owners adventuresome spirits, without feeling like you’re an intruder. Very pleasant and relaxing place to stay! Carrie & Wade

  • I only rate this as "exactly as I expected" because this is our third time staying here! We are frequent AirBnB'ers, and this is the FIRST AirBnB we've ever stayed at more than once. That should speak for itself. (You can read my previous two reviews for more details.) Always a relaxing getaway at Patrick's place. Thank you again, Patrick!

    Meg & Stefan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick and Fiona are such wonderful hosts... very quick to communicate and share a wealth of local knowledge and recommendations that make staying at their lovely ‘small mountain town’ retreat a memorable escape. Their place is packed full of everything that you will need to just move in, make a tasty French Press coffee and take in the sights and sounds of the Berkshires.

    David2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick’s home is an incredible getaway in a remote area of Western Mass. The space was sparkling clean and much bigger than we anticipated. The shining star of the property was the patio out back. Settle into the private hot tub and let the ambiance of the babbling brook melt away your stresses. Make sure to do some grocery shopping in advance as the nearest stores and restaurants are about 30 minutes away. We had a lovely time and would definitely return in the future.

Comfortable 1850's farmhouse, 25 minutes to Bradley International Airport and close to Westfield State University, beautiful Stanley Park, Columbia Greenway Rail Trail, and many other local activities. You’ll love it because of the unusual architecture, private bed/bath suite with 1 queen bed on the second floor. Guests are welcome in the whole house and yard (pool, hammock, and garden - weeding welcome). Friendly host, knowledgeable about the area.
Large bedroom and bath on the second floor. Wood floors, pressed tin ceilings and a big walk in shower.
A couple of miles to Westfield State University, walking distance to Amelia Park Ice Arena, Children's Museum, groceries, library, town center and just 3 blocks from the bike trail.
  • Martha is a great host. I highly reccomend staying here. It's a very clean place, located in a quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again.

    Scott2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Martha keeps a beautiful home which is sparkling clean and beautifully decorated. Her attention to details both and design and attention to her guests is outstanding. This was our 1st experience with Air B and B and because of Martha it will not be our last. I would highly recommend Martha's home to anyone seeking a comfortable and attractive place to stay. Amazing first impression! ❤👍🏼

    Marye2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We lived our stay here, comfortable, quite, and very restful. Martha's hospitality was awesome, and her home was beautiful.

    Paul2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Martha is the ultimate host. Her space is the quintessential New England getaway— complete with Americana decor and ambiance. we slept beautifully. The bed was immensely comfortable and cozy (we were there in winter) and the space was so private it felt like we were in our own little apartment. Impeccably clean and aesthetic, the stay was truly a bargain. This is everything a guest could ask for and more. Martha offered so many guidebooks and local tips, and we enjoyed the area so much. She understood that it’s really the little things that count, and we appreciated these touches so much. We cannot wait to visit again soon!

    Charlotte2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect an excellent, immaculate, calm, and quiet place to stay.

    Akintunde2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Martha is the epitome of what a host(ess) should be. Immaculate place, peaceful. I will return if ever in tje area again. Highly recommended. A+++. Thanks Martha!

    Al2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I said 'same as expected' because I have always felt "at home" at Martha's. Whenever I need a place to stay within the area, I always go to Martha's. You will be delighted!!!

Note: I've had to temporarily change my minimum stay to 14 days due to Covid-19. I had too many people book then cancel due to quarantine rules etc. This is not only frustrating for you and for me, it is also unfair and confusing for my cleaners with the schedule changing all the time. Please try to make sure you will be able to commit to 14+days before booking. Please research rules for MA. Thank you!
Listing: Comfortable, modern rustic cabin in the woods - sandy private lake beach down the road. Canoe available at lake. Private yard w/ fire pit and hot tub. Wifi, smart TV's, comfortable beds, kitchen stocked w/ utensils, amenities, coffee, tea, spices & condiments. Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival is just down the road, and Lenox / Tanglewood is a very scenic short drive away. Visit the cute Sherwood Shoppe for home-cooked meals including breakfast all day long, beverages and food to stock the fridge with, and take some local grass-fed meat home to grill burgers on the propane griddle. We try to think of anything you might need to forget all your cares and relax - please let us know if there's anything else that would help in that aim.
Community is free of streetlights, and is mainly dirt roads. Snow: road clearing is quick and thorough, but please use caution during snow or muddy conditions (usually early spring) Some roads can be steep, as this is very hilly territory, but we have provided maps to show you how to get anywhere in the community via the easiest and flattest routes (You do NOT need W4D). I send different routes depending on the season, prior to your stay. We have also provided detailed routes to the lakes, where the canoe is docked, and so on (in house guide book).

  • Beautiful space to get away from the world for a nice quiet weekend. Will definitely be coming back in the summer!

    Zakary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely love the cottage and hope we can come back in summertime when we could enjoy the lake, as well. We loved the extreme privacy, especially of the hot tub (omg, the hot tub, just right out the sliding glass back door onto a private deck surrounded by woods, no houses anywhere nearby, so amazing). We also loved the art and rugs and the overall loveliness of the place; everything is done in sweet shades of blue and teal. We had a great hike to the Sherwood Shoppe, which served us a delicious breakfast. We loved being in the cottage so much we canceled our dinner plans and just stayed in.

    Lanette2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended, Alison’s home is the perfect nature getaway. The thoughtful, stylish touches really invoked deep relaxation and rest for us. It was our anniversary, so the hot tub beneath the night sky and dawn light left us in awe. We cooked delicious meals, enjoyed great films on Roku and reconnected while exploring the natural surroundings such as the lake, Jacob’s Ladder, and walks in the woods on the property. We hope to return again someday.

  • Very low key in the woods house great for a lot of people to feel comfortable tons of room and beds the bathroom was perfect and had a really cool old school vibe close to snowboarding mountains

  • Steve was very responsive and the place was truly wonderful for a weekend getaway retreat. The home is clean, large, has lots of games and perfect for a weekend with friends or family. Checkin and checkout were easy with the instructions provided. Steve was very flexible for the check out time which was really nice as well. Sometimes the WiFi might be spotty but it’s a perfect excuse to truly disconnect from the rest of the world ! There is also a beautiful lake just across the street.

    Sarvazad2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great space especially for families, fully stocked kitchen, plenty of games and things to do in the house. Super clean and comfy

    Dina2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's place was beautiful. Perfect for a ladies weekend, really close to a beautiful lake with amazing sunsets. The house was pristine with a real fun 70s mod vibe! There is some nice hiking nearby, and the little town is adorable. Would absolutely come back and would recommend for anyone looking to get away and enjoy nature in a spacious but cozy home.

    Avery2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lakeside Oasis was a great find! Very affordable, very stylish home, lots of board games to enjoy with friends, and beautiful lakeside view just across the street. Steve was very accessible and answered all questions and concerns very promptly. The house is located pretty far from most places, but its a great location if you just want to get away from the city and enjoy some quality time with friends!

    Alana2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is an outstanding place. There are games available for all ages (our kids enjoyed it as much as we did) in a beautiful setting. Western MA impressed us. The 70's style of the house is extremely charming...a true lakeside oasis.

    Felix2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 6 that had a great time at the Lakeside Oasis. The house was clean, the beds were comfy, and there was more than enough space for our group. We enjoyed a long walk around the lake, and played board games late into the night. There was plenty of privacy with bedrooms both downstairs and upstairs, and it was great having two full bathrooms.

We want to assure our guests that we are diligent in sanitizing our home after each stay. The cleanliness of our home remains our top priority. Linny's lakeview cottage is 100% renovated, grey & white as the basic bright color scheme. The hardwood floors are refinished, in beautiful tradition. The renovated kitchen is finished in white shaker cabinets, granite counter tops & new ss appliances. The counter joins the kitchen/living room & comfortably sits 6. This is a small 650 sq ft home
This is a small 650sq ft house. Our lake house is 100% renovated. Top of the line fixtures, & we have a lake view from the front deck, but it is not lakefront.
Our home is a mere 100 steps from the Lake Congamond. The fresh water lake is great for boating, kayaking, fishing, swimming, and all water and ice sports.
  • Very clean, spacious and enough of everything! We truly enjoyed our girls weekend!

    Keri2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Linny's cottage. The cottage has two bedrooms and 1 bath. The kitchen is equipped with a full stove, refrigerator, garbage disposal, and dishwasher, as well as a washer and dryer. The cottage is very clean, and I particularly like the very good water pressure and the blazingly fast wifi. Linny's cottages offer two televisions, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom with a great complement of channels to watch. The cottage has lake views from the bedrooms and front porch. It's a very quiet side street, with only the sounds of the geese as the sun is setting. Access is by digital lock and code that Linny provides. I'd definitely return a third time.

    Alyssa2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, cozy, relaxing.

    Sandra2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Linny’s place is awesome! It was clean and warm and inviting and very well decorated. Lenny even had a checker board that looks like it’s decoration but it’s an honest checkerboard. She provided cookies for baking there’s tea and coffee and her place is well-stocked. Can’t wait to visit connecticut again and hopefully book with Linny. If you have a chance you should check out Congamound Artisanal Pizza ... https://www.congamondpizza.com

  • This cottage is adorable and has many nice touches of luxury with high-end kitchen appliances. High marks for the blazing WiFi and the incredible water pressure. The house was very clean and better than promised. I would certainly stay again.

    Alyssa2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a quiet and charming place in this region - I strongly suggest considering this option. A comfortable, well-equipped, warm place for this time of year. The "icy" lake is a fantastic look.

    Agnaldo2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Linny’s! Her space was the perfect respite we needed during a week of family time over the Thanksgiving holiday. We got snowed in on our last night, and Linny made the extension of our stay super easy. The cottage had everything we could’ve needed (including a stash of delicious cookie dough and popcorn!). We also loved all of the TV options (cable, Netflix, you name it). We will definitely be staying at Linny’s again!

  • We really lucked out getting this amazing space during one of the busiest summer weekends. It is exactly as described and probably even bigger than you would expect. We didn’t miss having a kitchen as one of the best parts of the trip was all the amazing food we had at restaurants in Great Barrington and just a couple miles from the property. All in all, this was the perfect spot for our family of 3 and I would happily return.

There is off street parking and a quiet outside second floor porch.

  • My husband and I needed to get away for a few days and Katherine’s place was the perfect winter getaway! It was so quiet and peaceful. Very clean. One of the best and most unique places we’ve stayed at! Hoping to visit again sometime.. maybe in a different season. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • This was the winter weekend lodging we were looking for when in need of a relaxing getaway. It was easy to get to but set apart from the rest of the world to feel warm and cozy. If you want to cuddle up with your partner or just get away from the bustle...this is your answer. The suggestions Katherine gave on local shopping and activities were SO helpful. We hit up Rubiner's Cheesemongers in Great Barrington and a few shops in the adorable downtown. Thank god Katherine had cheese knives for all the cheeses we purchased. I love to cook so I loved making comfort food in the adorable and functional kitchen. It wasn't missing utensils or cooking tools, which was greatly appreciated. At night we hung out by the fire (thank you for providing all the firewood), or played games. Do you think you know your 90's Trivia? We visited during a winter storm advisory and Katherine was ON TOP of making sure that our driveway was plowed and making sure that we were ok. FYI, there is no microwave, so plan accordingly for cooking. We weren't looking to watch TV, but if you need one, you won't find one here and given the type of venue this is, there shouldn't be a TV here. All in all, I would strongly recommend renting this house. It is so gorgeous but cozy. It made for an amazing weekend for me and my partner. Thank you so much Katherine!

  • If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! We were looking for a night away and a place to unplug and relax and that is exactly what we found here! The space was so clean, cozy, and beautiful. Marge was such a great, accommodating host and the hot tub was so relaxing. We didn’t want to leave and hope we can come back!

    Deanna2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I still can’t believe how delightful this experience was! Marge is such a lovely person, and her place is so cute, so cute, that we did not want our weekend to come to an end. The hot tub place is stunning! We felt so welcome, comfortable, and mellow during this trip. Thank you, Marge, for this amazing weekend ♥️

    Aline2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We are honestly at a loss for words to describe the experiences we had while staying at Marge’s beautiful getaway. We stayed for one night over a recent weekend for our anniversary and were completely blown away by the welcome we received and for the following unequaled hospitality. It really just kept getting better and better. Marge is the definition of a true inspiration and one of our favorite moments was walking down the stairs from our GIANT private living space and seeing frame after frame on the wall detailing the timeline of her building her business from the ground up. Of course there is also the breathtaking indoor pool and hot tub where there were candles waiting for us later in the evening, visiting Marge’s beautiful home and meeting her family, fresh eggs for breakfast, a fully stocked kitchen with everything we could possibly need including bread for toast that Marge made sure to get before we arrived and of course Buddy the puppy. We absolutely cannot wait to come back and if you are lucky enough to find an available spot, book it immediately as this is an experience you will remember forever.

  • Great place to stay. Marge is an excellent host. Can’t wait to go back

    Kyle2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Marge’s place fully exceeded our expectations. The hot tub is located in a huge indoor tropical paradise that also includes a pool. The rustic chic decor of the private suite was exactly what I’d want in a weekend getaway to the country. We were also welcomed to the home by Buddy, her black lab puppy, who was the cherry on the cake. Overall, we would love to stay again!

    Oksana2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! Marge’s home and property are so relaxing and gorgeous. She was the perfect host and made us feel right at home. She offers a private beautiful apartment with access to the main home accommodations including an amazing pool/hot tub. We had such a lovely time! Definitely will be returning and highly recommend this bnb!

  • Marge I know we’ve shared our thoughts with you about our stay at your beautiful farm, but I want people interested in staying there to know also. Your hospitality was above and beyond our expectations, the apartment was perfectly and thoughtfully stocked with all the amenities we needed and then some. From your warm greeting, amazing aromas throughout the Main house and “ sun room “ hot tub area to the farm fresh eggs you are an amazing host. Your property is just outstanding, we are looking forward to coming back soon :-)

Walking distance to local convenience store / diner was an unexpected gem as well. Would be back in a heartbeat!

A quiet, secluded house in the forest with fireplace and jacuzzi on a clean swimmable lake near Jacob's Pillow and other Berkshires attractions.
2 Bedroom house on a half acre on beautiful clean lake. 3 Mbps wireless internet, washer-dryer, large deck and sunroom. The original house was a single story open plan. We added a second floor which includes a spacious queen bedroom and a fireplace as well as a spacious bathroom with granite counter tops and a large Kohler jacuzzi. There is a memory foam 3 inch topper to the bed for extra comfort. The downstairs has a bedroom with a full size bed and closet. There is an additional bathroom downstairs with shower. We also added a beautiful sunroom with a full futon couch. The downstairs has a wood burning stove for a cozy night indoors. The downstairs is also open and spacious with wood floors, the kitchen and upstairs are furnished. We left the bathroom downstairs as it was originally. It had a metal shower stall and is small. Instead of trying to squeeze new fixtures in there we put an ultra-luxurious Kohler jacuzzi in a spacious bathroom upstairs. It's not a nice shower downstairs so you don't have to use it. The lake is clean and very nice for swimming. There is a sandy beach across the way that you can walk to from the house for an easy way into the water. Don't go into the water from the property as it is muddy and slippery. The beach across the house is private and has sand all the way into the water. The house is 5 minutes from Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, 15 minutes from the Dream Away Lodge (quite the night spot! with live music and great food and ambiance) 25 minutes from Shakespeare and Co and Tanglewood. The house is in a forest and prone to visitations from wild critters. Be sure not to leave any food outside. Put the fire out completely before leaving the fire pit by the lake. Field mice are everywhere but they are friendly and non-toxic. You may hear them occasionally but they are docile and keep to themselves.
The forest and the clean lake are the reasons I like the neighborhood. There is also a quaint general store in the forest that serves breakfast. Lots of local color and friendly helpful people. New England style friendliness is reserved but positive.
  • Lovely home in the woods. Indoor fireplaces and jacuzzi tub make it a great getaway. Situated about 15-20 minute drive from a few local towns. Home as described. I would come back to this place :)

    We are dog-friendly, 420-friendly, eco-aware, lgbtq & vegan-friendly! - yoga/meditation space. - wood stove - downstairs bedroom has media hookups (bring ur DVDs/Chromecast etc) - screened-in back porch.
Highlights include: wood-burning stove, cozy sleeping loft with a view of the woods and a meditation area beneath a skylight. Very comfortable built-in double bed. First floor has second bedroom (adjacent to living room) with double bed, large chifferobe, view of the back woods. Directly across from bright yellow bath (with tub). Hot shower has excellent water pressure. Tiny but fully-equipped eat-in kitchen. With small refrigerator and, full stove, cookware, dishes, etc. Screened in back porch faces woods. In front is small garden (strawberries, blueberries, young peach tree and mostly native flowers.) In addition (unless we have worked out some sort of week-day/last-minute discount), we provide all bed, bath and kitchen linens. And usually have shampoo and other random toiletries you are welcome to borrow.
A cozy home base for apple, peach, and berry-pickers. Antique hunters. Downhill and XC skiers. In the summer the Granville Gorge is good for cooling off, and the Barkhamsted Reservoir has a "secret" public beach (Lake McDonough), popular with locals. Equine opportunities and at least two wilderness adventure (rock-climbing, kayak, canoeing) outfits are a short drive away. Shopping and cultural excursions include Northampton, Amherst and Great Barrington. Tanglewood and Jacob's Pillow for music and dance all or = an hour away. For serious hikers the famous Tunxis trail is nearby, and for XC enthusiasts there is For downhill riding, skiing and tubing try nearby Otis (very old school resort with "vintage" lifts), billed as good for kids and beginners, but in truth it is also a great place for more experienced adults. Skilled boarders/skiers will appreciate the price (so inexpensive!) and all the space (no lines!) to do your own thing. Blandford is similar and also close by. More of a drive (and more famous) is Butternut in Great Barrington. Awesome tubing there and worth the drive. Granville Country Store makes fresh bread, cellar-aged cheddar cheese and carries locally sourced fruit pies, maple syrup, cheese. They also have basic grocery items. If coming from NYC or Boston, best to buy food there and bring it. Food around here (unless it is harvest time or summer fruit season) is not as good, in general, and costly. This is a very rural area. Granby has Stop'n Shop and Big Y, as does Westfield - about 20 min drives in opposite directions. More about hiking (from (website hidden)) Day trails in the Granville area start at the Granville State Forest, located less than four miles from town. The forest hosts a network of trails, the longest of which is a roughly four-mile dirt road bisecting the forest. Because most of the trails intersect, individual trails can be tied into much longer day hikes that loop back to the forest's central parking area. Roughly 20 miles west of town is a semi-circle of protected areas, including the Tolland and Sandisfield State Forests. Each of the state forests and parks in this area offers networks of day trails similar in size and flexibility to those at Granville. Long Distance Hikes The southern border of Granville State Forest also serves as the northern terminus of the Tunxis Trail, a major cross-country route in neighboring Connecticut. Directly across the state line from Granville State Forest is Connecticut's Tunxis State Forest ((website hidden)) and a 21-mile trail extending out of the forest, with an additional 58 miles branching off into the northwestern Connecticut countryside. The trail and its branches are marked by blue blazes; they are characterized by a mix of barely improved tracks with unpaved, abandoned road beds.

  • The cabin is absolutely beautiful and spacious. My family (2 young boys and my husband) spent a couple of weeks at the cabin and we really enjoyed it. Even though it was cold outside, you very much felt you we in nature due to the open floor plan, big windows and sky lights. I highly recommend the cabin and I hope to return next year. Also, Hollise is an awesome host. She is very responsive and left nice touches like Starbucks coffee! The cabin is also very clean. If you are looking for a beautiful log cabin among nature and in the heart of the Berkshires, this cabin is the place for you!

We went out for the day and when we came back the driveway was plowed. The beds are very comfy and the gas fireplace really heats up. Hollise was very responsive and helpful. A great getaway.

  • We had a wonderful weekend at Rick and Melissa’s! The lake and neighborhood is absolutely beautiful, and so charming. We loved relaxing in the hot tub and being in nature. Saw an awesome show nearby at the Dreamaway Lodge, A legendary music and Destiination! Highly recommend the spot to anyone looking for a special getaway.

    Dana2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend stay at Melissa & Rick’s. We loved the pups, the lake views, the hot tub, Melissa’s breakfasts & homemade baked goods, having our own bathroom, walking to the one little diner/market, and chatting w Melissa & Rick. Bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, but the bed is super comfy and you wake up to lake views. Do realize that you will be driving 30-45 min to get to most places for food, restaurants, entertainment, museums, big hikes. We did really enjoy our evening of food & music at the Dream Away Lodge which is one of the only options that is 20 min away. It was a bummer we weren’t there during a time of the year when we could’ve enjoyed the lake more - either for paddling or skating/xc skiing. They have a beautiful porch, deck & dock. However in colder months, you are more limited in terms of hangout space as you really only have your small-ish bedroom.

    Laura2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had an excellent columbus weekend stay at Rick and Melissa's house. We loved relaxing in the hot tub in the evening and then listening to the sounds of nature in our robes. Every morning we had breakfast down by the lake which was truly magical. I even had a chance to take one of the kayaks for a spin and it was beautiful. The two dogs were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

    David2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful, warm and relaxing. Rick and Melissa are thoughtful hosts for a lovely space. The house is on a serene lake. We got lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the included kayaks and canoe amongst the changing leaves in the woods that surround the lake. We took full advantage of the hot tub just steps outside our private entrance and found it so relaxing. The room is clean and comfortable. Melissa even went out to get a ironing board after we requested one. The breakfast she leaves is also a delight. Nothing like having morning coffee on a deck overlooking a calm lake. We stayed here for a wedding we attended about 20 minutes away, and could not be happier with our stay. Thanks again Melissa and Rick (and Bella and Murphy!)

  • Very peaceful retreat. We had a genuine Berkshire experience.. incredible views, nice amenities, we went to Dream away lodge (recommended by host,) and thoroughly enjoyed the food and music. It’s not quite as private as expected, as the room is directly connected to the rest of the house, and it’s easy to hear hosts walking/ talking upstairs. However, since we stayed from Sun- Mon, they were gone very early in the morning which allowed a lot of privacy. The breakfast was simple yet high quality.. homemade plum tart was delicious! Very hospitable hosts.. we were thoroughly satisfied !

    Joel2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a tranquil and peaceful stay that makes it feel like an exclusive gem that emerges out of the lake. Loved all the luxurious amenities that Rick & Melissa provided. The cozy bedroom with the accompanying bathroom was generously appointed and spotless. The outdoor deck and the hot tub looked out onto the pristine view of the woods and the lake. Which, by the way, is made accessible by the wooden plank walk. Breakfast goes a long way, with a delightful peach galette made by Melissa. Also, you will instantly make companions with the pair of dogs that will greet you fondly.

    Paul2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • They recommended this amazing and super cute restaurant around the area, although we only stayed for one night we had so much fun! We used the super cool hot tub, went paddle boarding on the lake, and had so much fun with the dogs!! 10/10

This small home is country simplicity at its best, and is close to all of the natural beauty and culture of the Berkshires. Willow, my cat, will be here during your stay and is wonderfully independent (just needs to be fed in the morning & evening; spends the day outside, sleeps inside). With private riverfront, spend time outside grilling, tending the fire pit, or bathing in the cool river water (the clean Konkapot River). This tranquil place best accommodates 1 person or a couple. Sleeps up to 3 people: Queen mattress in the bedroom + foldout sofa (and Aerobed, additionally).

Cantina 229 is a hip evening spot with cocktails, burgers and tacos = 5mins away! Great Barrington is just 14mins drive from the house, with: GUIDO's (like a mini-Whole Foods); the food coop; Bizen (best sushi around!); a cinema; CVS pharmacy; and lots of great shops and hangouts.

We are offering a peaceful, quiet cottage home as a place for people to “land” when they are looking for a cozy safe haven to call their own for a while. We are private enough to feel rural but 3/4 OF A MILE FROM BUTTERNUT SKI MOUNTAIN & 3.5 miles from Railroad St in GB. We offer amenities for adults & children from games, a playground, to a screened in patio & a stone fire pit for lighting up the night with those you love -all surrounded by our 3.6 acres of beautiful woods & protected wetlands
When you pull into our long private driveway surrounded by nature, Our lovely cottage style home greets you with a rustic yet modern grey board and batten exterior and the sense of “coming home.” You then enter the home from a small wood deck that leads into the open concept kitchen/dining area. There are two living spaces. The living space just off the kitchen to the left creates a cozy open concept mingling area that allows you to cook from our stainless appliances while visiting family and friends. There is a smart tv (has Netflix, Hulu and YouTube) in this living room and this living space is surrounded by the three bedrooms and the bathroom - making it easy to access your private space from the main cottage center. To the right of the kitchen/dining area, is a step down into the 2nd living area that holds the pull out couch. This area has been designed for the child (or inner child in us all). It also has a flat screen tv with a fire stick (for viewing Disney+,Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and listening to pandora etc). There is an office desk and chair in this space for work related matters and shelves with books for adults and children alike. A pottery barn child’s wood table with 2 accompanying chairs make eating and art time easy and fun. Board games for all ages, a full wooden train set with trains, duplo legos and puzzles dress the shelves as well. Both living spaces have functioning wood burning stoves...The stoves are usable but not without signing a waiver form first. You also will need to purchase the wood for burning if you choose to use them. We have a brand new heat and air conditioning system throughout the house so the temperature should always be comfortable to each guest. Part of the front yard is the expansive stone/rock parking area and then the other part is a grassy area with the wood swing set and slide. The back yard can be accessed by walking around the house or through the sliding glass door in the dining/kitchen area. This sliding door leads to a back porch with an outdoor dining table. Follow the rock trail to our stone fire pit then continue the path to the screened in gazebo where the gas grill is located (perfect for bug free entertaining). All of this space is yours to use. Please do not venture into the tall ferns or grass as we are in the woods and protected wetlands and it attracts an ecosystem of all sorts of creatures and bugs. Best to stay in the designated areas. Welcome to our modern, rustic Zen Oasis! Enjoy!!!!
The Zen Cottage is nestled within 3.6 acres of our own private land (and surrounded by additional protected wetlands). It’s the perfect place for anyone who wants a little solitude but still wants to experience the many gifts that Great Barrington has to offer, as it is only a 3 mile jaunt into town and only 3/4 of a mile from Butternut Ski Mountain.

You’ll love my place because of the lakefront location and quaint cottage privacy. It's part of a waterfront recreational community, with secure access to swimming, boating, biking, tennis, hiking. New stove, water heater and furnace, outdoor shower and renovated bathroom. Berkshire culture, antiques, museums and local orchards and farms make this a relaxing and enriching holiday option. Within 40 minutes of 6 Flags New England. There is free WiFi access for guests at the Clubhouse 24/7.
Located in the Berkshire Mountains of southwestern Massachusetts, this cottage is part of a private association called Wildwood, surrounding two lakes called Cranberry Pond and Otter Pond. Our cottage is a modified A-frame hand made by a father and sons, who were founding members at Wildwood, and has lakefront access to the main lake (Cranberry Pond) down a short flat path to the water and private dock. The cottage comfortably sleeps 6 people with 1 double-size bed bedroom, 2 twin-bed bedroom and a single bed bedroom as well as a trundle bed that can open up in the living room and a day bed in the upstairs gallery if you want more people in your party. There is a galley kitchen, dining area/living room and half bath downstairs, and 3 bedrooms and full bathroom with shower upstairs. A back utility/boat room has another small bed, across from the downstairs bathroom. The cottage features a lovely screened in porch that overlooks Cranberry Pond. Great for enjoying outside dining, bird-watching, and entertaining. We have sighted scarlet tanager, great blue heron, kingfisher and many other woodland birds. No outside watercraft of any sort are allowed in the lakes. The Association works very hard in keeping the lakes weed free and by limiting the boats brought in they have kept the lakes in fantastic shape. The cottage rental includes use of a row boat, 3 kayaks and a canoe (specific information will be provided for the use of each watercraft).
There are many walking trails and paths throughout the complex that you can explore and information and maps are provided. The lakes have wonderfully clear, soft water that is always refreshing and enjoyable for swimming and boating. Trolling motors only are allowed, so the pond is very quiet, with paddlers and sailors, and fisherfolk, and some say mermaids and mermen have been sighted.
  • Location on the lake is fantastic! The cottage is quirky and makes it so much fun! Our boys loved using the kayaks and canoe straight off the private dock. Wonderful welcoming hosts. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for something a little different in a great location. Porch is a great place to sit and watch nature. All in all, a great time!

  • Beautiful lakeside retreat. Nestled in gorgeously green woods. A true cottage experience. Great for a family.

  • My family and I (2 adults, 2 kids ages 7 and 13, and 1 dog) just came back from a long weekend at this house. We drove up from Westchester County in NY. The house was easy to find and the drive wasn't bad (about 2 hours). We stopped in Winsted, Ct (~30 minutes south of the house) on the way up for groceries. There's a stop n shop there, and it's right on the route to the house coming from the south. We arrived at the house around 4pm or so on Friday. It was too late to do much once we unpacked and put the food away, so we just had dinner and made use of the domino set and radio in the living room. On Saturday, we drove to Campbell Falls in CT, about 20 minutes away. We took lunch with us and made an afternoon of it. Great, easy hike for families with a very pretty waterfall at the end. We also went to Gran-Val Scoop that evening for ice cream and to check out the animals. Another winner for families. We spent Sunday on the property enjoying the lake, kayaks, and sunshine. The house is very pet friendly and our dog LOVED the lake. The kayaks, life vests, and paddles at the house were in great shape. The deck itself is the perfect spot to sit and watch the lake. This really is the stand-out feature of the house, and what we came for. It was as lovely as we hoped. The rest of the house is very well furnished. Everything you need, except your groceries, are there. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The living room is full of games and there are books and blankets to enjoy by the wood burning stove. The kitchen is very well stocked, pots and pans in great shape, the oven/range looks to be brand new and we had no trouble at all finding what we needed to prepare our meals. We loved sitting in the screened room off of the kitchen for our meals. It was very nice. The outdoor shower is AMAZING if you are traveling with a pet. Our dog ended each day covered in mud and loved rinsing off in that shower. He came home looking cleaner than he did when we started our weekend. I hope we have another opportunity to come back in the future. Our kids had a blast and I only wish we had more time to spend in the water.

  • This is an excellent vacation destination. The cottage is cozy with a wood stove, and the location on the lake is beautiful. We stayed a little later on in the season, so it felt like we had the lake to ourselves. We spent the first evening sitting down by the private dock on the lake enjoying the sunset. The place comes with kayaks, canoes, and access to tennis courts. Also, I really appreciated Barbara's hospitality. She came up to welcome us in person, and make sure we had access to everything we could want. Thanks for a great weekend!

    Matthew2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Barbara and Adrian place! We reached out to Adrian in advance with a couple of questions (we have a dog and wanted to run somethings by him) and he was super quick in his responses, which we appreciated. We booked the cabin for Labor Day weekend and are so happy that we did. Check in/check out was a breeze and upon check in Barbara directed our attention to loads of hikes and fun things to do nearby (e.g. Jacob's Pillow, antiquing in the Berkshires, etc). She also suggested that we make use of the kayak and canoe on the lake. We were provided with everything we needed (towels, life jackets etc) and enjoyed swimming and paddling around the lake. As advertised, the cabin doesn't have a tv or wifi but that is exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed unplugging, hiking, and relaxing by the lake. If you are looking for a quiet lakeside trip, Barbara and Adrian's place is for you!

    Andrea2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great hidden little get away gem. Plenty of option of things to do. The place was welcoming and cozzy. Adrian was a fantastic host and even agreed to meet us and give us a tour. The place is amazing, makes you feel like you grew up and spent your summers there. Be prepared for the quiet and dark at night, you don't realize how much noise and light pollution you deal with everyday until you're there, peacefully in the woods.

  • This cottage was the perfect way to spend the weekend to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet without an extensive drive from the city. The property is well-maintained, and the outside shower was perfect! Very quiet area, and there are no motor boats allowed on the pond, which is great.

  • We had such a great time staying at the farm house. It had everything we needed including some extra groceries already stocked. It was fun to explore the trails, do some sledding, get some ice skating in on the pond, hangout in the hot tub at night, and it was a nice quick walk to the brewery. We highly recommend this house for a relaxing family getaway.

Imagine driving up to your own three season, windowed and screened, fully furnished gazebo. Having at your disposal and being surrounded by a 34 acre, park like, setting, with natural bedrock and sand bottomed swimming area that is fed by cascading water falls. A place centrally located, just minutes to all the amazing cultural offerings of the Berkshires and surrounding towns. Well, dream no more.
This Airbnb offering will provide you with glamping at its finest. Immerse yourself with the soothing sounds and views provided by nature. Wake up and go to sleep with the sound of rushing water, cascading down multiple water falls into your own sandy and bedrock bottom swimming area (floats etc. provided). View wildlife from your scenic perch above Roaring Brook in your very own three season gazebo. The windows are easily opened, or closed to provide you with the air flow or warmth that you desire. Even your campfire just outside, is an effortless and smokeless affair, being that it is a gas fired fire pit. New this year , a gas fired fireplace has been added to the interior of the gazebo, for ambiance and warmth. The bathroom consists of an immaculate porta potty such as the ones you find at a country fair. Your shower is a private one. It is located on the outside of the main house. If you haven’t showered outdoors, then you are in for a real treat. Watch the birds and the white fluffy clouds breeze by as you wash the cares of the world away in the ample hot water. Due to the large collection of tropical plants, even the air is scented with fragrance of tropical jasmine plants and large citrus trees in bloom nearby. If you are new to roughing it, there are no worries here. Your space is electrified with ample lighting, fan and heater if needed. A deluxe futon bed and complete set of fresh bedding and pillows are also provided for your comfort. Basically just get in the car with a change of clothes, and swim suits and you will be all set. While private (even your own driveway), you are still close to the main house, so any needs or questions can be taken care of immediately. If you decide you can tear yourself away from the walking trails, scenic rock formations and water activities, and just need a bit of a cultural diversion, then you are in luck. Northridge, the name of the property is located centrally in the Berkshire hills. It literally is smack in the middle of everything. In under twenty five minutes you can experience the scenic towns of the Berkshires and attend a variety of cultural activities from theatre to museums and more. Jacob’s Dance Festival is just a few miles away. Lee, Stockbridge, Lenox, Great Barrington are all within easy reach. In the opposite direction, you have the Pioneer Valley. The bustling, multicultural, progressive college town of Northampton is also only minutes away. Here you will find no end of food offerings, and interesting shops to poke around in. Your hosts will be more than happy to give you the lay of the land and ensure that you have plenty to do and see. Just ask them for some recommendations. We want you to take full advantage of the natural wonders of the property: the walking paths along the ridge, the brook, and the variety of impressive, mighty stone features. Also check out the tropical plants and enjoy the twenty four foot palm trees as they rustle in the Berkshire breezes. Canoe rental available for canoeing on the crystal clear, nearby Littleville reservoir. Our property offers a lot but most of all it offers a space for just relaxing. So, come and take advantage, you deserve it.
    Picturesque location in the countryside.
  • A cozy spot for a quiet weekend! It was extra chilly during my visit (dropped to about 13* overnight according to the weather app) but inside the gazebo was very toasty. The warm coffee was greatly appreciated during my slow mornings! Can’t wait to visit again once the winter passes!

    Meg2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for our 4 year anniversary on Saturday night. It was only one night but it was exactly what we needed. One night away without kids and it was so peaceful! We love camping but that would never happen in November because it's too cold. The fireplace inside the gazebo, along with the heated blankets did the trick on a 28 degree night. It was slightly drafty being that cold but I enjoyed the fresh air sleeping as long as I was keeping warm! The morning was 1000x better waking up to hot coffee and an assortment of breakfast snacks to hold us over till we got started on our day. Walking around the property with our hot coffee was the highlight for me. We will return someday for sure!

  • Absolutely beautiful AirBnB with a fantastic host. We had a fantastic time at Ed's and are looking forward to coming back. The amenities were perfect, the gazebo exceeded our expectations in every way, and the scenic views made this trip unforgettable.

    Matthew2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Bob’s gazebo and grounds are striking in their uniqueness, tranquility, and comfort. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience in the woods!

    Jason2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! The “hut” was very cozy, clean, and comfortable. Outside temperatures dipped down to around 35 degrees the night we were there, but we were perfectly warm inside all night. The property is beautiful, and coffee and breakfast in the morning were such a nice addition. Highly recommended!

    Elizabeth2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The view of the grounds from the gazebo is beautiful. Nice gas fire inside. Good, simple breakfast. We liked the outdoor shower, which was warm enough even when the air was in the 30s (°F). Toilet is a clean port-a-potty. We hope to go back.

    Madeleine2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! The property is stunning. The gazebo itself is so cozy and unique. We wished we could have stayed three or four days instead of just overnight. Edward is an attentive and charming host, and he provided us with a delicious breakfast—something we weren’t expecting. I’d come back anytime.

    Tim2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I think Edward was the most hospitable host I have ever had in air bnb. I originally only went as a half way point for my trip to Boston how ever after staying just one night I plan on going back again for sure!
