Places to stay in Portland
License#STHR0011152019 Spacious 1 bedroom w/living room, eat-in kitchen and bath in ideal Portland peninsula location, walk to all. situated on the edge of the west end and downtown. 2 blocks from the ocean. Walk everywhere in this central, historic, perfect location. Easy street parking. Simple furnishings, older retro flair. 2nd floor of 3 unit Victorian on dead end, quiet street. Queen bed and futon sleeps up to four. There is no parking but often spaces are available on this dead end street
Please read carefully: This is a well-loved apartment in an 1875 building full of sunlight, with Hardwood floors and tall ceilings, you'll be in a classic Portland "triple decker" Victorian building surrounded by the stunning architecture of portland's historic west end. You can walk anywhere in town within minutes. Basic kitchen and bathroom essentials provided. One queen memory foam bed and one fouton can sleep up to four. Large living space-this is an older apartment with older kitchen and bath-it is simple-not luxurious or modern-but it is clean and in the best location. Please appreciate the value of my space-that it is affordable, clean and large, with a retro flare and in a very desirable neighborhood, walking distance to everything on the peninsula. however, be advised, there is no tv and towels do not match and I have never been to ikea. This is the 2nd floor of a 3 unit and the second floor walk-up has steep steps, consider this if you have mobility issues. One Window a/c unit in bedroom, radiator heat (steam heat=white noise which apparently bothers some) I live below and tenants live on the third floor-you will hear occasional sounds throughout the building from residents and even though it is a quiet street you may still hear people on the street (it is an apartment in a city-after all). There is no parking for air bnb-even though there is a driveway-the spaces belong to tenants...guests parking in the driveway for a few minutes to unload luggage is fine..guests have usually been able to park easily right on my street at no cost. Street parking is free on most streets in the neighborhood-Just read the signs as there are usually 2 nights a month overnight parking is not allowed on certain streets for cleaning. Guests arriving late in the evening may have trouble finding street parking. There is also a $5 daily parking lot on commercial street next to Irving gas station about a 3 minute walk. This is a quiet building and no partying is allowed. The apartment is located on a dead end street off park street on the right called Stetson ct-it is a block away from the landmark historic Victorian mansion on park street and danforth. Additionally, early check-in or late check-out can most likely be accommodated with a $20 fee. That said anyone staying beyond the 11 am check out for whatever circumstances will receive a $20 payment request.. Thanks
Portland's west end is such an amazing neighborhood, wandering through these tree lined streets filled with incredible architecture is one of my favorite pastimes. Smile at everyone out for a stroll and enjoy the beauty and character surrounding you. Rosemont market, oh no cafe, and speckled axe coffee are all staples of the west end. Commercial street is two blocks away and uptown or downtown are both 10 minute walks.
  • Beautiful and affordable place to stay with a very nice host who was very helpful and responsive! Would definitely recommend to people visiting Portland :)

    Rob2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a giant place with plenty of room for staying in and feeling like you're at home. Perfect part of town, friendly and helpful notes, generally lovely all around.

    Georgina2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a great location. There was a lot of snow while we were there, which made it a little more difficult to walk around the city. Sharon was great about helping us navigate the winter parking bans that were instituted because of the snow. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants the ability to exploring the city on foot.

This small, cozy, fully functional one bedroom apartment is walking distance to everything that the city of Portland has to offer. It's an older building with a lot of character.
There is parking for 1 vehicle, but we always tell our guests to check the street first, as it’s free parking and typically not an issue finding a spot in the neighborhood.
It's easy to get to wherever you're going.

  • Angela's place was very clean & cozy. It's a great location & she has so many nice touches that really make you feel comfortable & at home.

    Sara2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Angela’s place was cute and perfect for what we needed! The parking map was super helpful, as was the binder with all the local suggestions. The shower is great and I loved the spiral staircase - super cute! It was easy to call Lyft whenever we needed a ride and left the car parked in the street with free parking all weekend. Definitely a good spot to stay in Portland!

    Meghan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Angela’s description is exactly right! Port City is within walking distance to a lot of great things to do, see & eat. We love Portland and would definitely stay here again in the future!

    Julie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place was great. It was exactly as described so there were no surprises! The apartment was small, but it was a perfect space for our time there. The bathroom was amazing and the bed was super comfortable. The binder that was made was such a thoughtful and helpful touch. I plan to stay here again during the summer months, but even in the winter it was still in such a walkable location. I definitely recommend this place!

  • We are giving Ralph 5 stars even though we didn’t get to stay at his location due to unexpected maintenance issues with a furnace. However Ralph went above and beyond to make sure we got the trip we were looking forward to, he gave us number options to make sure we were able to find a suitable replacement. He gave us knowledge and places we need to see in the city. He was extremely hospitable and will for sure be booking another trip to Portland again soon to stay in Ralph’s air bnb!

    Gary2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph was an excellent host! It is very apparent he is extremely thorough and thoughtful when it comes to welcoming guests. He was very responsive and never left me hanging. My stay in Portland was short but his space definitely made it feel comfortable and cozy. It was very stylish and clean and very easy to feel at home at. His local recommendations were extensive and well researched. I would highly recommend this space!

    Ray2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment was larger than expected. Well furnished and had more than we could ask for when it came to appliances. The apartment is walking distance to the main restaurants and bars but if you choose to drive Uber’s were cheap (5-7 dollars) for everywhere we needed to go. Ralph is a great host, I plan on coming back to this apartment for any future visits. Highly recommend.

    Andrew2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place. Ralph was very responsive and attentive to detail.

    Regina2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Place was clean, well lit and extremely comfortable. Ample street parking and was located in a great area for walking to and from spots in Portland.

    Brandyn2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph is fast to respond and offers great local tips in his welcome packet. The place is very well decorated and super clean. Only thing is 2 hour parking is enforced 9-5 Mon-Sat. for street parking. It didn't impact us, but just something to be aware about when staying longer.

    Ben2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome time! The place was clean and in a great location. Ralph is an amazing host.

    Margaret2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing spot and place to stay. Ralph met us for check-in, gave us a tour of the apartment and amenities, and gave us some great tips for adventures. He was very accomodating, friendly, and easy to contact. The apartment is charming, well-appointed, and perfectly situated. Definitely recommend and will stay here again for sure!

Recently renovated modern studio cottage, located in a quiet Portland neighborhood only a 7-10 minute drive (and $9 Uber ride) from downtown Portland, the Old Port, and all local visitor attractions. Allagash Brewing is just a mile down the road, and you are within walking distance (.5 mi) of the bars and restaurants at Morrill's Corner. Everything in my cottage is new, hand-made, or 'upcycled' (my hobbies include refinishing antique furniture and building furniture).
Sliding barn door for the bathroom, custom-made concrete countertop, handmade furniture and refinished antiques, USB ports for charging electronic devices. Modern rustic: the best of the old world and the new! As a frequent traveler myself, I put a lot of thought into what makes a stay a fun, convenient, and relaxing experience, and designed some of the amenities and layout with that in mind. I hope you enjoy!
Even though it's only a short drive away from downtown, my neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. You can look at the stars and fall asleep to the sound of crickets after a fun night in town. Local neighborhood pubs (Samuels, Bruno's Tavern) and restaurants (Susan's Fish & Chips, Po' Boys & Pickles, Bruno's, Babylon) are located a short 10-minute walk away. The complex that hosts Allagash Brewing Company, Foundation Brewing, and Austin St Brewing is a short 25-30 minute walk away (and passes Noble BBQ, one of the best bbq restaurants in Portland).
  • Tony’s place is so charming and comfortable! Small, but very cute and perfect for two people who want a cabin getaway, still close to the lively city of Portland! :) The place is very clean, and Tony was the ideal host— responsive and helpful. We felt confident that if we needed anything, he was a short text message or call away! When we arrived, an essential oil diffuser was on, which made it feel like home right away. We miss it already!

    Jessica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tony's little cabin was perfection! His design style and creativity is awesome. All the amenities you need for a weekend away. Very comfortable bed pillows and furniture. The kitchen is anything to people could want so you don't have to eat out for three meals a day. Location to Olde Port and all surrounding towns is fantastic can't go wrong booking this place.

    Lisa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tony’s place was exactly what we were looking for. It was a bit small but had everything we needed for our short stay (2 1/2 days). True to his advertisement, we never saw him but knew he was nearby if we needed anything. Great value!!

    Roy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and very clean! Would highly recommend!

    Nate2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, stylish little cottage. Would book again

    Marah2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best places we’ve stayed at. Great aesthetic, good vibes!

    Tyler2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very last minute trip up to Portland and Tony was very accommodating. The cottage is very cozy and has everything you could need. It is apparent that Tony really cares about his space and wants to provide the best experience for his guests. We can’t wait to be back!

    Elise2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Tony's place for one of my employees who was traveling to Maine for work. There was an unexpected snow storm that required her to check in a day earlier than planned, and also lengthen the stay. Tony was incredibly responsive, friendly, and accommodating to the last-minute changes.

Wake up and grab a donut from the famous Holy Donut right down the street. Grab some brunch from Bayside American Cafe just a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Catch a baseball game during the summer months at the Portland Sea Dogs baseball stadium located just a few blocks away. Trader Joe's, Hannaford, Whole Foods, and Shaw's are just a 5-10 minute drive. • Daniel’s place was perfect for our winter get away! Thank you!

    Janet2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel and Ben’s place is spacious, beautifully bright and sunny, and conveniently located. I loved that the apartment had all of the amenities you could ever need! It was just a quick ride (or walk) away from tons of great places to eat and explore. Portland has so much to offer even during the off season. Daniel’s communication was extremely quick and his messages were thorough and clear. We were given the opportunity to check out later than stated and we highly appreciated that. My partner and I would love to stay here again! Thank you Daniel and Ben!

    Victoria2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place centrally located and no more than a 5 minute drive from everywhere we visited in Portland. Surplus of breweries, restaurants, and bars nearby, many of them within walking distance. We have a large vehicle so street parking was a bit of a struggle, but as long as you’re okay with walking a block or 2, it’s not really a problem.

    Olivia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Uber’s and lyft were only $6 to get downtown!

    Robin2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel & Ben were amazing! Super quick responses, and everything was super smooth! This was our first AirBnb experience and we were nervous but it was perfect and Daniel & Ben definitely set the bar high! I 100% recommend this place!

  • I am so impressed with this place; it was a beautiful space, very close to downtown but also easy to get to any of the main roads out of Portland, and such a great value. I loved having off-street parking and Katrina was very clear and quick with her directions and responses. I would love to stay here again!

    Emily2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Katrina has a lovely space very well located close to the main Portland thoroughfare. The space was clean and cozy; my wife and I enjoyed relaxing there each evening on a cozy couch and very comfortable bed. Katrina was also very responsive and her instructions on accessing the room were very clear. We’ve stayed in several Airbnb’s in Portland and this is definitely our favorite!

    Wesley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were very happy with our stay. The bedroom is much nicer than the photo suggests, tastefully furnished with hotel quality bedding. I contacted Katrina once and got an instant response. The entire unit is warmed by an electric heater in the living room and it works very well (we were there on a very cold weekend); we were nervous when we arrived because the bedroom was chilly, but we turned the heat up a bit and that took care of it. I would happily stay there again on a future trip to Portland!

  • Wonderful apartment a short walk from the heart of town. Great value, and perfect for a weekend away.

    Patrick2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful airbnb. It is clean and Katrina responded to our questions before and during the visit. The location is perfect -- walkable and easy to find. We loved it and will be back!

    Olivia2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is great! Awesome location that is walkable to lots of great restaurants and coffee shops. Very clean and perfect for a quick getaway.

    Kylie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had to cancel my trip due to some sudden unfortunate circumstances and Katrina was very understanding. She was helpful, quick with responses and kind. My cancellation was on such short so I figured I would not get any refund (which I was totally okay with) but Katrina was super nice and refunded the cleaning fee for me. I recommend staying with her and know I will for my future visits to Portland 🙂

This is a newly renovated apartment on the 2nd floor of my building and is above an existing Airbnb unit that has been a great hit for the past 2 years and holds a 4.5 star rating w/ over 300+ reviews! It's in walking distance to everything Portland has to offer! It's an older building and has a lot character!
As old as the building is, the 2nd floor sags to the left when you first walk in and levels out to the center of the room and the 3rd floor bedrooms are level. We recycle in the entryway hallway, so you will see the bins when you walk in. Parking is as follows, there is parking for 1 vehicle, but we always tell our guests to check the street first, as it’s free parking and typically not an issue finding a spot in the neighborhood.
It's a safe neighborhood, with the Maine's largest hospital 200 yards up the street and the city's largest park 200 yards down the street.
  • Great place to stay! Perfect location.

    Andrew2020-03-02T00:00:00Z

  • Nick's Place is in proximity to everything and what a value for the money! We had an entire two floor/two bedroom apartment to ourselves within a mile of the Old Port. Nick was awesome with speedy replies and when the weather got treacherous he made sure we had off-street parking.

    Tari2020-02-10T00:00:00Z

A mix of cozy with modern touches, this just-renovated space is what you've been searching for! Come couples and small families, it's much more spacious than a hotel room and has far more character. We are located near quaint Deering Center, right outside the hustle and bustle of the city; a short walk to UNE graduate campus. We are on the bus line with close walking and biking paths. We've set this space up for you! So, whatever reason brings you to Portland, be our guests!
The entire apartment is set up for guest to be travel-friendly and convenient. Washer and dryer outside the unit, on the same floor.
  • Awesome place. Great location. Amazing price.

  • We had a wonderful trip to Portland and made even better by this wonderful Air BnB! It’s in a great location, about 10 minutes to downtown Portland, very clean, and many amenities including lots of blankets and toiletries. The apartment is great for a couple, friends, or family. It’s very nice to have a full kitchen as well! There was coffee for the Kureig machine, water bottles in the fridge and even candies around the apartment! Thank you for a great trip-would definitely stay here again :)

    Julia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so much more than we expected! They had every little detail covered! We had privacy the whole time and were able to do a load of laundry before we headed back home. A 10$ Uber ride away from Old Port and the downtown area of Portland, and they were quick to answer any questions we had. Thanks guys for an amazing stay!

    Cuong2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Really incredible spot. The hosts truly thought of every amenity and went above and beyond. Only thing of note is that if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs because it’s a thin ceiling. Absolutely no complaints though. Perfect experience.

This spacious one bedroom apartment is located in a restored house built in 1845. A colorful, cozy space that boasts tons of character with original honey-colored hardwood floors. With plenty of on street parking and a 10-15 minute walk to downtown and the historic Old Port, you can park your car and forget about it for a while. My partner Jennifer, a fellow Superhost in Portland, manages the Airbnb for me and handles all messaging and coordinating for the space.
This apartment features great natural light and has an open concept feel. The morning sun floods into the living room as the sun rises. Newly renovated bathroom with walk-in tile shower. Hulu, Netflix and Pandora are all available on the TV. For the 3rd and fourth guests, there is a single as well as a queen inflatable mattress available. The sofa is super comfy for sleeping as well. Pack and Play and a highchair are available for your little one. Most of the artwork throughout the apartment is by my Mom. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
The West End is a lovely neighborhood, tucked on the edge of the peninsula. There is a playground and a lovely park just two doors down and a few restaurants and shops within two blocks. You can walk downtown (to the Old Port or the Art's District) in 15-20 minutes.
  • Stayed for the weekend, I loved the independent check in process. The house was warm, comfortable and had everything I needed to cook a meal.

    Lexy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy stylish space lecated in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to everything. I would recommend this space to anyone needing a place to stay in Portland. The host is quick to responds and is very accommodatiing.

  • Couldn’t have asked for any better, more authentic Portland experience - loved the artwork and the gorgeous hardwood floors. Great location close to downtown! Bianca and Jennifer were fantastic hosts - very responsive to messages, and flexible. Immaculately clean, and very spacious. We would absolutely stay again in a heartbeat.

  • Amazing, cozy and charming space. Lots of great things to do and see within walking distance without any parking issess right at the house.

    Sonny2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly comfortable, aesthetically wonderful apartment perfectly located in Portland. Close enough to walk anywhere, but in a quiet neighborhood at the end of the night. Jennifer was especially kind and let me know about the parking ban and suggested local parking garages during my stay. 10/10!

    Chelsea2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest place! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. So clean and homey and in such a great spot.

    Ellen2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I have stayed here twice now and both times it was the perfect base for us to explore Portland. Its a close walk or quick Uber (if you stay in jan like us) to many great restaurants and breweries. The place itself is very clean and full of personality. we have greatly enjoyed both of our stays

Stay in Portland's most walk-able location. Parking space provided just two blocks away. Portland Maine Short Term Rental Registration# STHR 000040 2018
The urban retreat is a beautiful, self-contained, first floor, private studio and bath. The room is visually pleasing, with high ceilings, crown molding, bay windows, hardwood floors, a king sized bed, sitting area, table and chairs for eating or working, bureau for clothes storage, and all linens provided. There is no full kitchen in the room, but a mini-fridge, toaster oven, electric water kettle, coffee pot and carafe, dishes and utensils are available. Stocked with fresh roasted coffee, cream and sugar. A parking space is available for the apartment. It isn't on site, but a four minute walk away.
This West End location is a walker's paradise, with excellent restaurants, coffee shops and gourmet grocery stores all within blocks and parks, museums, galleries, theaters, the Arts District, and the Old Port are all just a short jaunt away (10-15 minutes or less).
  • Awesome space and location! It's tiny but cute, and it's a great starting point to see the city! There's a single room and a small bathroom, but there's a cute sitting area in the room and tons of space to put your luggage.

  • One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at! I work from home and the Internet was very fast, neighborhood and building very quiet, and tons of natural light in the studio that made it a wonderful place to work. The bed was also super comfortable and the pour over coffee was delicious! Would definitely return!

    Caitlyn2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and super clean place! Can't wait to go back!

    William2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • You will appreciate having an all-day parking space, a big help because street parking is limited in central Portland. And, Michelle’s location is a quick stroll to both Congress Street and Old Port!

    Carl2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we couldn’t stay long but it was easy to get in and out. The space is clean and organized and is on the first floor. Parking space is closer than you’d expect if you take the right walking route. The bathroom may be a bit of a squeeze if you’re taller than 6’ but has everything you need. Great value, definitely recommend!

    Abe2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place a little removed from downtown that still offers great walkability and comfort.

    Ben2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a easy overnight stay in Portland to attend a work event. Michelle's place was perfect. Really easy to get to, really easy to get into, off street parking ended up being a big plus as a snow storm hit that night, and the room itself was perfect. It's a really spacious one room apartment with a cute and very clean bathroom. Really big and comfortable bed and everything needed right there. Plenty of room for bags and spreading out and a fantastic coffee situation for the morning. I would definitely recommend this place!

    Steve & Ellen2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t say enough great things about Michelle’s! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location, adorable studio, super clean, and lovely touches such as coffee from a local roaster. My favorite part was the handwritten guest book with tips from not only Michelle but all the travelers who stayed there before us. Highly recommend!

Grocery stores (including Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods) are only a couple of minutes away by car- very convenient! The skylights are a really charming feature, and things are decorated so nicely. • This apartment was absolutely perfect for our short stay in Portland! It snowed the first day of our trip, so having off street parking during a city wide ban was a major plus. A snow shovel and rock salt were provided inside the apartment, but we were pleasantly surprised to see someone shoveled for us and salted overnight. We had an issue with the front door sticking the following morning, but our host was quick to respond to and remedy the situation. Overall the space was extremely clean, organized, and stylish. We didn't do much walking on account of the cold weather, but we were definitely close to everything we wanted to do. I highly recommend this apartment!

We would gladly stay here again for future trips to Portland!

Park in your private drive and relax in a tranquil urban oasis. Nine foot ceilings, original pumpkin pine floors, exposed brick, and sunny southern exposure make this 175 year old Greek revival home warm and inviting. An updated kitchen and bathroom offer modern comforts steeped in historic surround. Experience the history of the property and its inhabitants through displayed objects and photographs discovered during the 2016 preservation style renovation. Live like a Portland native.
Built in 1842, by Captain John Hasty, this landmark property underwent a three year preservation style rehabilitation completed late in 2016. The result is a historic property boasting distinctively modern touches that respect the buildings history. The original floors were restored. The original moldings, fireplace casings and doors were tediously preserved. Exposed brick was reclaimed. Nine foot ceilings and southern exposure will brighten even the coldest winter day. Items found hidden in walls and under floorboards are on display as decoration and help tell the 175 year story. For nearly two centuries the Captain Hasty House overlooked the harbor, welcoming mariners and travelers. Stay in a part of Portland's rich maritime history.
Located perfectly harbor side where the commercial Old Port meets the historic West End. This steep sloped corner of the city is steps from a 2.5 acre city park, playground and surrounded by historic architecture. A coffee shop is across the street and a gastro pub with craft cocktails is 600 feet from the front door. Within a seven-minute walk is an organic grocer, a deli, a dive bar, a bakery, butcher, and waterfront fish monger.

    Kelsey2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Next time we're in Portland, this is the first place I'm checking for availability. Gary literally thought of (and did) everything it takes to make someone's stay perfect here. The place was immaculately clean upon our arrival, the decor is Maine / Portland themed (tastefully), and every little amenity you could think of was available. They provided thoughtfully written out guides on the neighborhood, local restaurants, and other fun things to do. I honestly don't think there's anything that Gary could improve on!

    Stephen2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot for exploring Portland. Convenient, classy, clean and comfortable. I'll be back!

    Chad2020-01-17T00:00:00Z

    Joe2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Gary’s house was amazing. It was as accommodating as possible. Plenty of information on the area and the history of the house it self. Almost just worth the stay to see the apartment !

    Joseph2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was great! Excellent location, responsive host, plus the apartment was beautiful and well decorated. I didn't realize "historic" in the listing's title was literal, but it actually does have a really cool history which is explained in a really fun way! I would happily rent this apartment out for another weekend trip some time soon!

This STUDIO apt is bright, comfy, beachy, beautiful! The location is outstanding - walking distance to all of downtown. Central to beaches & activities. A/c and parking included. I am flexible, friendly, and happy to share info about Portland. Check our reviews, ask us questions, or just come stay with us!
This studio space is simply perfect for what you need. It's comfortable and it feels like home because it is. It's filled with great art, pieces of handmade furniture, etc. The space is ideal for 1 or 2, as there is only the one QUEEN size bed. But you could sleep a third person on the couch. I've slept on that couch myself many nights and it is very comfortable. Additional details to know... As stated and pictured, this is a studio apartment - meaning all one room. But for a studio it is quite large and spacious. We have a bistro set in the bay windows for dining, enjoying coffee, or sitting on your laptop. TV with apple TV set up. Full size couch and coffee table. Full kitchen. Small, but clean bathroom, with a stall shower - no tub. A/c and ceiling fan. Black out curtains if you like to sleep in. Off-street parking included. Coin-op laundry in the basement.
GREAT neighborhood! We are in the historic district and surrounded by beautiful old homes and brick mansions. We're also right around the corner from Longfellow Square, filled with great restaurants, bars, shops, small live music venues. Longfellow Sq is in the Arts district, home to Portland's best galleries and the Portland Art Museum. We neighbor the Old Port, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from our home. Here are some other landmarks that are helpful... *** About 5 blocks from the Portland Museum of Art and handfuls of galleries. *** Just a couple minutes any direction to great coffee shops, breakfast spots, and my personal favorites, Tandem and Holy Donut. ***Just a couple of blocks South of Deering Oaks Park and a couple of blocks North of the Western Promenade. Both are great parks for walking or watching the sunset. *** Just a couple of blocks from Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. A short 10-15 minute walk to USM and to the 3 grocery stores in Portland (Whole Foods, Hannaford, Trader Joes). ***A short 5 minute walk to the Seadogs Baseball Stadium and 10 minutes to the Civic Center. ***3.7 miles to the closest beach; 7-10 miles to 3 more beaches and Two Lights State Park on the ocean. 4 Miles to Fort Williams Park and Portland Head Light on the ocean. *** 15-20 minute drive to the airport (about $15-20 for a taxi or Uber)
  • Terrific location, includes parking! all amenities provided. The studio apt is in a great neighborhood in the Arts district, in my opinion much preferable than Old Port. Close to great restaurants and bars, within a mile of Old Port fun. Everything we needed was provided, the kitchen had what we needed to make meals. I saw a review that said the apt was small, I didn’t find that to be true. We had plenty of space. I would say a very large person might find the kitchen and bathroom snug but not a problem for most. The host’s folder of suggestions of things to do and restaurants/bars was very helpful. I hope to stay here again soon!

  • Nova’s apartment was in a great location for our weekend trip to Portland. It’s a cozy space and an easy walk to downtown. Her detailed instructions made check-in easy.

    Fiona2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a PRIME location. We barely used our car. We were able to have late nights around the town since the location was walking distance to the bars. Nova leaves a very thoughtful booklet of local tips and places that's very helpful. I'd book this Airbnb again.

    Melissa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Good location--pretty close to a lot of great restaurants, shops, etc. Lots of light, but good curtains to keep it dark for sleeping. And Nova's booklet of local tips was very useful in planning our stay.

    Zack2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot, and excellent location to explore Portland's art district and Longfellow square. The space itself was both cozy and well appointed. My partner and I would return anytime.

    Erica2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place. Great location. We enjoyed the congress street restaurants more than any others in town. Everything was clean. Shampoo, conditioner etc provided. We would recommend.

    Tania2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nova was a great host with quick responses and was very resourceful. She had a ton of great suggestions for things to do and the location of her place was great. Congress St., which is only a couple of blocks away, had awesome restaurants and bars. The bed in the place was extremely comfortable, especially after a camping trip. Would highly recommend this place for a 1 or 2 person stay.

    Sergio2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cute space! It is a little smaller than I anticipated from the pictures, but we were in town for a wedding so we weren’t in the room much. Definitely a good location and is walkable to the old port as well as a bunch of restaurants and other spots close by. Very clean and easy check in.

(City of Portland Registration 11 34 20 19) PLEASE NOTE: Price above is base only; varies by season, day of the week, and more than 2 guests. Let my experience help you enjoy Portland. I have earned over 1,500 reviews, meaning experience, professionalism, and satisfaction for you. 19th century townhouse in the heart of Portland, historically preserved outside with all the comforts and features of this century inside. Park your car and forget it; walk to everything.
On one of the most coveted streets in Portland, this apartment will be the perfect hub of your stay. Measure distances from here in steps and minutes as you seek dumplings, sandwiches, seafood, fine dining, museums, galleries, and the life of this wonderful city.
This is one of the premiere neighborhoods of Portland, and it's a privilege to be able to host guests to the city in this location. Brick sidewalks, street lamps, trees. You walk with ease from here to the Portland Museum of Art (literally just around two corners), to elegant or informal restaurants, coffee shops, farmers markets, the Old Port, the working waterfront, and Portland's Trail System. Heading to Acadia National Park? Portland is a logical stop along the way.
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The apt is in a historic row house on a quaint side street. Its on the third floor so a few flights of stairs are required. The space itself is huge and full of character: 2 bedrooms (1 very large), living room, small kitchen. Plenty of room for a family. Beds were very comfy and the place was super quiet. The location is a few blocks from shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

    David2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph was a great host and the apartment was very nice and cozy! The master bedroom was huge, and there was plenty of space for us to spread out and relax. The location was great too, even though it was freezing out, everything we needed was only a short walk away. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay near downtown Portland.

    Kasey2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph’s place is clean, charming and in a great location. It is within easy walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants. We would definitely go back.

    Nancy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is great. It’s very spacious and conveniently located. Ralph was easy to coordinate with and he even made sure to have the big game already on tv when we arrived so we didn’t have to hunt for the right channel. My only suggestion would be a bigger ceiling mount shower rod for the shower curtains. Because it’s smaller than the tub, the curtain suctioned to me as soon as I stepped in. It’s an easy fix, and definitely not something that would deter me from staying here again.

    Erin2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph’s apartment in the historical building was clean, warm, and had all that the 4 of us needed for our over night stay. We visited during January and Ralph was very helpful with proactive communications about parking bans due to a snow storm and where to find alternative free or paid parking options. The apartment is centrally located and offers many choices within walking distance for delicious dinner and breakfast. (We chose Mi Sen Thai and Tandem Bakery and were not disappointed by either). We would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Marijke2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really spacious, sunny, comfortable full apartment, at a great location in Portland. The unit has everything you would need to make a few meals (even a dishwasher), and really fine quality sheets, towels, beds, and a true claw foot bathtub/shower. Ralph is working really hard to be a good neighbor to the surrounding housing and he expects guests to do the same by following the house rules. Ralph was very helpful with directions and local attractions.

    David2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph was an incredible host and the apartment was perfect! Highly recommended!

    Jason2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • First let me say that communication was first rate. Always heard back from Ralph within minutes. He met us at the apartment upon check in, which we appreciated. The location was perfect for us. Great dumpling place and tavern right around the corner. The apartment was very clean, bed was comfy. Nice touches with the charging station and coffee maker stocked with coffee! I highly recommend this apartment

The Walker House was built in the mid-1800s as a private home by Henry B. Walker who was wise enough to capitalize on all the clay in the soil in Maine and owned 3 brickyards. Now on The National Register of Historic Places, the house is located just over Portland townline so you’ll enjoy the space, quiet and safety of a family-oriented area with just minutes to the center of town.
  • This is a thoughtfully curated space full of curiosities and delightful visual touches. Pete is an excellent host!

    Michael2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location and space. Pete was super accommodating and responsive. It terms of amenities he thought of everything.

    Ashley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely charming apartment. The studio is huge and has absolutely everything that a visitor could want or need. We had a very short spur of the moment trip to Portland and felt very lucky to have found an apartment that was pet friendly with a fenced in yard. I will definitely go back to Portland (great little city) and when I do I hope to be able to stay again at this darling apartment.

    Joanne2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pete's place is the perfect space for a quick stay in Westbrook and AWESOME if you have a dog. The fenced in back yard was fantastic and the loaner chew toys were much appreciated (we loved the artwork, by the way...).

    Brandon2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Great space, gorgeous decor, smooth communication and check in, and a great big yard completely fenced off that our dogs just loved! Thanks for the stay.

    Jennifer2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was cute and had everything you could need! There was plenty of space and Pete was very accommodating to both my dog and I. We would definitely stay again!

    Sarah2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space, friendly host. Will return!

    Diana2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pete had a very unique apartment. Part of it almost felt like I was living inside an art exhibition! Harley (my dog) and I stayed here for a day. Pete was very accommodating of having a dog and left very clear instructions for everything and check in was a very easy process. There is also access to a fenced in backyard which is ideal for anyone traveling with a pet. The location is also amazing as it is a very close driving distance from the docks/main hub of Portland. Will definitely stay again if I visit!

A comfortable, bright room with a spectacular view of the Fore River, in easy walking distance of the Old Port and the Arts District, on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Portland's lovely West End. (Portland City License # STHR-002050-2019)
As our only guest, you have a comfortable, light, second floor room in our "more than a hundred years old" house. Old Maine charm, wide board floors, great views of the Fore River Estuary and a quiet dead-end street all make this location a great place to stay while you explore Portland and the surrounding areas. We are in walking distance from Portland's Arts District and its charming Old Port. We are also very close to both its major hospitals. Three generations live here. The house is generally quiet and peaceful but on the days when my granddaughter is with us it becomes more boisterous and lively. On those days one can expect to hear the usual sounds one associates with young children. If your plans include sleeping late on quiet mornings please be sure to check with us about the dates to see if they coincide with her visits or not. (We want your stay to be enjoyable!) The room has a queen size bed. There is a natural gas heater in the room so you can keep it comfortable. You would share the upstairs bathroom. There is a rather steep staircase to reach the second floor. (Have a look at the pictures to see it). This can be a challenge with large luggage or those who have difficulty with stairs. We are not a good options for folks with mobility issues.
The West End is one of the best places to live in Portland. It has tons of historic old houses, with lovely gardens and interesting architecture. It's the perfect place to walk around and take in the city. As you do, you'll find the West End Promenade, with views west as far as the White Mountains on clear days. There are schools, shops, and gourmet and everyday restaurants. You can get a pizza to bring home or sit at an outdoor table as you enjoy a variety of cuisines. It can be noisy at times. During the day you can hear trains and trucks below on Commercial street, jets overhead, and tugboats honking out in the harbor which you can see from my back porch.
  • Loved Marsha’s space. It was exactly as advertised. A lovely, bright, and cheerful room. Just what we needed for our weekend getaway. Highly recommend.

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Marsha's directions were very clear on how to locate the key, which door to use and the general rules of the place. The room was very tide, and the unexpected view of the bay was a welcome surprise, would definitely stay here again.

    Alex2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the coziest and warmest space. Waking up to the sunrise over the water was just the cherry on top of a great room. The area is about a 20 minute walk to downtown restaurants and venues. Marsha and Krista were wonderful hosts that thought of everything :)

    Jenny2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay with Marsha - we appreciated the nice touches (e.g., coffee, tea). It was a ~15-20 minute walk to downtown Portland. Check in was easy and Marsha was communicative. The only downside is having to walk through the backyard in the snow and up a tiny staircase (as noted in the listing).

    Jeff2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were fortunate enough to stay with Marsha overnight in Portland. Being my first AirBnB experience I was honestly a little skeptical. Honestly Marsha blew us away. She was clean, organized, accommodating, and friendly. I'd have no hesitation recommending her to anyone else in the future. In fact I've already shared my experience with my peers and they have noted Marsha's AirBnB for their trips.

    Jarid2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great room in a great area of town. View of the water from the room was nice. Could walk to many places or take a quick ride-share. Felt like I experienced a part of Portland history.

    Gary2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, great location.

    Daniel2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Marsh'a place was an excellent place in downtown Portland! Easy to get to and just a short walk into the heart of the city. The place was very clean. I'd definitely recommend for a short stay in the area!

This is a third-floor apartment. Spacious living room and kitchen. Great for relaxing after a long day of touring the city. Full-bath/shower. The bedroom has slanted ceilings, but it is perfect for crashing after a long day of exploring Portland. This is not a hotel. This is a converted apartment in a really cool location at a reasonable price.
Located in the heart of the west end, our apartment is a hop, skip, and a jump away from hundreds of local restaurants and bars. But at the same time we’re only a five minute walk away from the western promenade.
  • This is my third time staying in Portland, the first time was a hotel and this is my second Airbnb and I've got to give this one the best review for location. If you want a very walkable vacation, stay here. It's very clean, cute and cozy and so conveniently located to entertainment, food and bars whatever time of day you're looking for them.

    Ashley2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy, clean place. Great location, easy check in. All around great experience for a short stay.

    Paul2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this apartment really can’t be beat. Convenient to all that downtown Portland has to offer. As others have noted, the space has some quirks but for a pair of folks under 5’3 it was just fine! We worried some about the one hour parking signs but left our car on the street all day on Saturday without an issue.

    Reann2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for a week trip to Portland. The low ceilings in the bed room did not bother me or my 5'11" boyfriend. Would go back anytime!!

  • This place is centrally located which makes walking or getting on the bus a breeze! Asher was very responsive and the self check in was really easy.

  • My stay at Shalini's was incredible. The space is cozy and comfortable. As I was traveling alone, I felt extremely safe. The location was perfect for all the activities I wanted to do. On street parking was easy to find. Shalini has a binder of house information as well as many recommendations for places to eat and activities. I followed her advice and went to Soakology, a 10-15 minute walk down the main road from the house, for an hour foot soak. The front deck was enjoyable in the silence of the morning with coffee from the provided coffee press. I arrived after sunset, the temperature was freezing (being that it is February in Maine) and the heat was already pumping in the house. It was the most enjoyable stay. Thank you, Shalini!

  • We were very pleased with the neighborhood from which we easily get to our daughter's home in the Back Cove and also all the wonderful shops and restaurants downtown. The place itself was charming and clean and had all the kitchen and bath stuff that anyone would need. Will definitely go back. We had one small problem which didn't affect our stay, nor would it keep us from going back. I mention it only because we were so surprised and pleased with how quickly it was dealt with and resolved.

Amazing City Scape Views! Sleeps 3 : 1 Bedroom with queen bed and there is a Futon in small auxiliary room.
Although a lot of places are called "great locations" it's truly hard to beat this one. We are next door to two coffee shops two restaurants, around the corner (literally) from one of the best coffee spots in town. 50 feet from a bakery, a well known donut shop, a one minute walk to a movie theatre and less than a minute to the Public Market House. Even a men’s and woman’s hair Salon are less than a half minute walk! Portland's Old Port is two blocks away.

Our living room has a beautiful mid century couch that pulls out to make a full sized bed. Kitchen is fully equipped and has a gas range if you want to play chef.
This full and spacious apartment is conveniently located in the safe and quiet Hezletine neighborhood of Portland. It's less than a mile off-peninsula, a half-mile from the highway, a quarter mile from Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and our local grocer, and walking distance from coffee shops and some great local restaurants.
  • Ian and Jessica’s place is exactly as the great reviews and pictures describe. I definitely loved the feel of the place and it was super clean.

    Tamara2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, apartment has a nice style and is very good for kids. My son spent the morning trying the origami and looking at the books. For those who speak Spanish, one hundred percent recommended, comfortable and clean. Many extras like a vinyl player and many LPs, my son spent reading books that had been included and making origami

  • Super cute space, convenient location, responsive hosts! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    Tara2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is what Airbnb is all about! Ian checked in with me before our arrival to see if there was anything he could help with. He gave us some excellent recommendations for places to go. Ian and Jessica have done an amazing job of making the apartment homey, cozy, and welcoming. They've thought of everything! The decorating is modern/eclectic and creative. There was everything imaginable in the kitchen that you could possibly need for cooking and eating meals there. The bathroom was fully stocked as well. We found special little touches … like a chess set, books and magazines to read, the vinyl record player … all incredibly thoughtful. The bed was comfy and they even had a fan which I use at home for white noise. Felt right at home. Convenient to everything in Portland and South Portland … we will definitely be back. Easy to see why Ian and Jessica are rated as Super hosts!!!

  • This is an awesome spot in a pretty quiet neighborhood close to everything! Ian and Jessica know how to make a space stylish and inviting! Warm, comfy bed, good water pressure, private, easy access.. and we were able to bring the pup! Highly recommend.

Enjoy your relaxing weekend in Portland with this wonderfully located 1 bedroom apartment located downtown! During your stay you can walk five minutes to Portland favorites such as Tandem Coffee Shop, Hot Suppa, and Bramhall. Other fun activities include watching a SeaDog’s game or visiting the farmer’s market on Saturdays at Deering Park, which are also a less than 10 minute walk! This airbnb features air conditioning, washer/dryer, and full kitchen.
Open and bright apartment comes with a full kitchen (stove, kettle, blender, dishwasher), washer/dryer, and two queen beds (1 normal & 1 sofa bed)
Located in the heart of the peninsula (Parkside). Apartment is within walking distance of all of Portland's top restaurants
  • Perfect isn’t even the word! It’s located at a walking distance to so many shops including hot suppa, boda and even a 7/11 for a late night bite. The place itself is awesome. Parking right out back, entrance steps away, kitchen was big with all the necessary things for a quick breakfast, living room was perfect size, roku on tv, bed was behind a wall but so perfectly well put - gave the right amount of privacy, the bathroom was very roomy although the shower itself is a little small still gets the job done, washer/dryer came in handy. Like i said perfect is not even the word! We will definitely be coming back. So much we didn’t get to do in our 3 days. Only a short 5-10 min drive to some great water view restaurants - Luke’s, DiMillos. Brian was super quick to respond when we needed an extra hour to check out.

    Crystal2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean, and cozy! 100% would stay again, Brian was also very responsive and a great host

  • Cute place, very nicely decorated. Washer and dryer were helpful, cozy atmosphere.

    Jessica2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Brian's place. It is on a nice, quiet street, but is within easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, etc. If we lived in Portland, we would love to live in this neighborhood. We also greatly appreciated the parking space, since there was some snow and ice our first evening in town. A perfect spot for a couple!

Lovely one bedroom apartment in the heart of Portland's Arts District. Newly decorated and fully appointed. Relax in modern comfort in this convenient location where you can walk to almost everything Portland has to offer. Free parking included for one car a block away. 2020 City of Portland registration STHR 000847
This is a newly renovated historic building. Enjoy being in the center of the action in the heart of Portland's Arts District. This bright spacious apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. Walk to just about everything Portland has to offer including museums, restaurants, shopping, and the Old Port. Drive to many beaches in 15-20 minutes. For your comfort bamboo linens, extra pillows, shampoo & conditioner, soap, and cotton towels are provided. Blackout shades and a white noise machine will ensure a peaceful sleep in the city. A fully-appointed kitchen with plenty of barware, cookware, coffee, tea, sugar, and creamer will allow you to feel at home and eat in if you choose. Two closets are provided for your items. Convenient, safe and free parking for one car is just a block away. Most guests park and don't drive again until they depart. One can walk most anywhere on the Portland Peninsula from the studio. There is also plenty of public transportation.
The Arts District is just a few blocks from the waterfront. This section of Congress Street is lined with art galleries, antique shops, and artist studios as well as the Portland Museum of Art, the Children’s Museum of Maine, the Institute of Contemporary Art at the Maine College of Art, the Center for Cultural Exchange, the State Theater, the Portland Stage Company, the Center for Maine History and more. This is the place to be for dining, live music, and culture.
  • Nice apartment on Congress Street. Close to lots of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and easy 10 minute walk down to the old port area. Off street parking is in an uncovered lot about a block away, which it was convenient. There is some street noise from Congress Street below, but there is a noise machine in the bedroom that did a good job of drowning out all of that at night. All in all, would definitely stay again!

    Ken2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay here. The location was amazing, and the apartment was fantastic. Super easy to get in and out, we would definitely come back next time we're in Portland.

    Vanessa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Clean and comfortable while maintaining a style’ish feel. Loved the location. Also, the sound machine in the bedroom was a nice touch to block out the street noise.

  • This place is just like it looks in the pics. Open and bright, absolutely spotless!!!!! Communication with Tom was great.

    Kyle2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot downtown! Close to everything within walking distance! Will definitely be back!

    Ali2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a perfect AirBnb!! The location is amazing. My husband and I wanted to see a lot of Portland in a short period of time, and we liked being right in the middle of everything. I'm a stickler for cleanliness and this place was the cleanest AirBnb ever. I was so happy with everything about it. The check-in was easy and I never even had to contact the host. We are heavy sleepers and city people, so the noise outside wasn't an issue, but if you're looking for something quiet this is NOT your place. It's lively outside as one floor down are restaurants and bars. Nothing out of the ordinary for a main street.

  • Lovely apartment in an historic neighborhood. Very quiet area. Right near a beautiful park. Our stay included ice skating there with our grandson! There's also a farmer's market in the spring/summer/fall. The apartment is just a few blocks from the main strip, Congress Avenue, loaded with restaurants, book stores, antique shops and other amenities. The furnishings create a calm atmosphere, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is great to work in. Very light and airy overall. Highly recommended. The hosts are super responsive to queries.

Our home is near parks, nightlife, hospitals and the city center but located in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk to everything. It's very small, but quiet and has a separate entrance. If you want to socialize with us you can, but you also have privacy too. The house was built in 1894, so the room/ bathroom are older, has a clawfoot tub and is small. Many guests ask about off-street parking. We have it available for 5$ per night in a nearby lot.
Full size bed. Very comfortable double bed. The room is small!! Electric heaters are available for your use to supplement the heat. Did I say the room was small? Its small but really comfortable. The bathroom is older and has a clawfoot tub, so you must be able to lift your legs over a 24" lip. Water pressure is very good.
The West End is primarily residential, with apartments and single family homes. It is very safe. There are nearby convenience stores, markets and laundry mats. The hospitals are both a ten minute walk away.
  • Comfortable stay near downtown Portland. The host was very kind and communicative. The room is small but has all the essentials. I would stay again.

Well lit, large room with an extra futon (second bed) in a cozy old-fashioned Maine duplex with your own private entry. The queen size bed, plush with 800 (or more) thread count sheets, a down comforter and cozy pillows will prove to be comfortable. The room has a private bath with a tile shower, refrigerator, microwave and coffee/tea. We provide towels, hi-speed wifi and small speakers for music. We are an easy walk to everything, and we offer our driveway for parking.
(Please read my entire listing as it will answer most, if not, all questions you may have. It will also help you decide if what I have to offer will meet your expectations and needs so you can have an amazing stay here in Portland) Hi, I'm Christine. I'm here to help you have an enjoyable stay at my home. But, also, I have made my Airbnb as self-sufficient as possible in case I'm off doing unpredictable life & mom things. I don't want my busy schedule to hinder any of your plans. As much as I would love to meet all of my guests, I may not be able to. (Do know, I will always be reachable by phone or text and would love to help in any way I can) My place is right in Portland and you can literally walk to most, (if not all) desired locations. It is a two story duplex that I have converted into a home for my family with a designated Airbnb area. To ensure privacy, my family stays in an area that is totally separate and secure from the Airbnb space. I have a dog (Harriet) and she will bark. Even though she is friendly, you will not have direct contact with her. My house is not modern. In fact, it is well over 100 years old. Calling it a "fixer-upper" is a bit harsh, but it does need some special love and attention. As much as I am very serious about making these upgrades happen, it has been a slow process. Take comfort in knowing that I have prioritized the Airbnb space and its the best room in the house! I am proud to have made it into a unique/comfortable/clean and cozy little Spot for my guests. (I intend to use my Airbnb revenue as a means to make such improvements to the rest of my home) I love my neighborhood. Back Bay Grill, Bayside Bowl, Bubba's, (voted best dance club) Isa and American Bayside Grill are primo hot spots within a block of my house. We are a short walk to The Museum of Art, Nickelodeon, the Old Port, (waterfront) Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market, Deering Oaks Park and some of the nations most highly regarded microbrew pubs. On the downside, there is a resource center a few blocks from my house. You may encounter homeless people who may/may not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol. The area can easily be avoided by foot and/or by car. I provide a map that clearly shows where the resource center is and how to best avoid it. (if you choose) Please take comfort in knowing, I have lived in my neighborhood for 15 years and I feel safe in my home, and I would never have an Airbnb if this were not the case. Also, we are less than 2 minutes off the 295 highway, so traveling north or south of the city will be as easy as it gets with minimal city driving. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MY PLACE: Q: When can I check in or check out? A: I will try to accommodate your desired check-in or check-out, no matter what time it is. Note that early check ins are not always possible if I have a guest leaving that morning, as I need time to have the room cleaned for you. Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please? And, where do I leave the key when I leave. A: Yes, yes and leave the key in the room.
Parris street is a little two-way street right in the heart of downtown Portland, in the most diverse area of the state. Online maps measure distances in feet to the most celebrated and award winning restaurants and night spots. We are located just blocks from Portlands highly touted art district with the Portland Museum of Art within ten minutes on foot. My family has lived in the neighborhood for over a decade. We feel safe in our home and have never had an incident where someone even tried to break in.
  • Christine's place was so clean and comfortable! Perfect location to explore, close to so many great restaurants and shops. I'd definitely recommend and stay again in the future!
