We have long since wished there were easy ways to escape our busy city lives and retreat into a magical, beautiful and peaceful space that feels like another world. This idea eventually evolved into a mission to build with our own hands Melbourne's very own magical sanctuaries, and to share it with the rest of the world. We love imagining what we could create, to build, and to share them with the world through hosting. We constantly think about how to make our creations bring even greater sense of joy and wonder, and not about how much it'll cost us. We're genuinely excited and happy to host each new guest, to hear about what they love about our creations, and what we could do to make it even better. We have built and opened our first instalment of Melbourne's hidden sanctuary, which we lovingly refer to as "Heaven & Earth". We have plans to make it even better, as well as other ideas for other worlds we want to try building for our next instalments. All Melbourne's CBD attractions are within easy walking distance—you can reach Flinders Station, Federation Square, and the Yarra River in five minutes. Degraves Street is a three-minute walk, and Hardware Lane restaurants are six minutes away.

The place was just as described, with amazing attention to details and extra touches like great coffee machine and milk provided, plenty of towels and warm, cozy bedding. The forest theme created an environment more relaxing than I even imagined. The location of the apartment, being at the end of the hall meant it was a quiet oasis in the middle of the CBD. The view is magnificent, & directly opposite the State Library lawn, where students lounge in the sun, buskers entertain & many historic celebrations & demonstrations have occurred. You'll be in the centre of it all.
    The freshly renovated apartment has everything you'll need to stay comfortably and safely in the heart of Melbourne. The space is clean and practical, with phone chargers, storage, and lots of coat hangers. It is particularly suitable for music lovers, with a guitar and a record player for guests to enjoy.
    Swanston Street includes many landmarks including the State Library of Victoria, the Capitol Theatre, Federation Square, and RMIT University.

Easy to find, great location, easy access, clean, lots of little extra’s such as; cell phone charging cords, universal plugs, lots of towels, face clothes, things that you may need, but forgot to pack. Some may find the street noise abit loud for sleeping at times, I did not, but, she even has ear plugs there for you. I would highly recommend 👍

    A beautiful sunny space in the heart of Fitzroy with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Ideal for a solo traveller or couple who want to experience Melbourne like locals.
    This beautiful studio apartment has been recently renovated and is ideally located in Fitzroy within walking distance to Melbourne CBD. It is ideal for a single person or a couple. The apartment is on the first floor of a small block of units (18 in total) surrounded by greenery. Our studio apartment (approximately 32m2) is tastefully decorated and has a large window overlooking Napier Street which gets lovely morning light.
    Fitzroy is one of the most exciting and vibrant neighbourhoods in Melbourne. Our apartment is located just off Gertrude Street, between Brunswick Street and Smith Street, all which offer some of the most interesting cafes, restaurants, bars, galleries and shops in town.
  • We had a great stay at Kate and Has’s apartment. The location is perfect for discovering Fitzroy and a stones throw from the tram for exploring further. The space is ideal for 2, we didn’t use the kitchen area as there are too many good food options right on the door step! The communication with the agents was really easy when needing to leave our bags at the office in the city and they were also able to get us checked in earlier than scheduled.     This beautifully designed apartment covers the 2nd Floor a unique, open plan and light-filled space. The guest bedroom has a comfortable Queen bed fitted with fine quality linen. We provide Breakfast with a selection of Cereal, Yogurt & Artisan bread. The Guest lounge has big comfy sofas. Flinders Lane has Galleries, Boutiques, fabulous Restaurants & Bars; a safe and exciting neighbourhood. Perfect location to stay for Travellers & there are also facilities for Board meetings & Presentations.
    We live in a spacious and light-filled warehouse, furnished with French provincial furniture and Contemporary Art. The building was a Fashion House, converted to Apartments in the '90s; it has very high ceilings with Architectural details defining the space, the bathrooms have an industrial edge with stainless steel fit out. We have comfy sofas for when you need to relax with a coffee or a glass of wine after a busy day of work or sightseeing.
    The area of Flinders Lane has a history of Fashion and Art for over a century; the area has changed over the last 2 decades, tho' it has always remained edgy, Boutiques, Galleries and now fabulous foodie Restaurants, there are also several Live music venues and Bars tucked away in Laneways throughout the city.

  • I wrote an extensive review about my last stay here back in May 2019 so feel free to check that out. This time around I stayed from 5th to 9th February 2020. As with my last visit, it’s a wonderful experience staying with Bronwyn, Michael and their furry child Chai. So great to meet Michael in person this time too! Their super spacious warehouse apartment has everything you could ask for, plus the very central location in the city makes getting to the major local sights and CBD shopping / eating districts a breeze. I also really appreciated the complimentary continental breakfast that was so thoughtfully laid out the night before. This gave me a good energy boost at the start of the day as this time I ventured a bit further out and caught more trams - note that Melbourne is quite flat and very easy to get around on foot, which I mostly did during my last visit. Thank you for your warm and gracious hospitality as always.

  • I spent five wonderful days here. The location of the apartment is really amazing, in the heart of the city center. From here, it is very convenient to go anywhere. The house is the same as the pictures look like an art gallery, full of art atmosphere. Living here, has the private room and the bathroom, also can use Brown's kitchen, open kitchen, the tableware is very complete. Brown & Michael, They are very enthusiastic and made me feel very warm. They also gave me some very convenient and useful tour advice. There are extra services, a hearty breakfast, a bottle of wine, a transit card, washer, and dryer, and can store luggage for a while. They are really considerate for the guests. If you want a deep experience of Melbourne's life, come here ! Brown loves food,if she has time, you can cook with her. I'll come again next time.     We are located on ground level so no stairs to worry about with heavy bags. We are ideally located if you are looking to spend a few days or more in Melbourne and especially if you are looking to discover the Hawthorn or Camberwell area or wish to go to the Camberwell market or a quick tram ride from the street takes you straight to the city. The room looks out onto the front and up to the street. It has a large bright windows and cute stained glass feature window. There are coffee/tea making facilities, a kettle and a small refrigerator but unfortunately no kitchen facilities. A microwave and basic crockery/cutlery is available for use. Beautifully furnished with attention to detail, this is simply a great feel good space! Simply gorgeous original ceilings and beautiful Turkish ceiling lamps provide a beautiful ambiance. There is also a mattress which is available if requested to accommodate an additional guest. Cute cafe’s and local groceries 5 minute walk away and great restaurants and bars a short drive or tram.
    Right in the heart of vibrant shopping precincts, public transport and the choice of 2 high streets featuring cafes, eateries and shops within walking distance you have Melbourne culture at your fingertips. Camberwell’s shops boutiques and restaurants or the Sunday trash and treasure market, Auburn village, or Glenferrie rd’s abundant eateries, bars, cafe’s and more means you are spoilt for choice. Walking distance to the lovely Rivoli cinema where you can enjoy a movie in style, or try out Gold class cinema for a treat.

Shampoo, conditioner and body wash was provided, which was convenient. The provided milk was also awesome. We shopped at the Coles nearby for food for breakfast. The kitchen is well equipped. Maybe a few more small things could be added like a non stick pan and spatula. You are close to the bus depot for airport transfers. It’s pretty centrally located to access the CBD area. The coffee place across from the main door was heaven! We would definitely stay again.

    The house is on a quiet residential street but just around the corner from the main road with tram stops and nearby station and shops. There is ample free unrestricted parking in the street. The guest accommodation consists of a double bedroom at the top of a private flight of stairs with a comfortable double bed, air-conditioning/heating, TV with Telstra TV internet connection and Netflix available. Plenty of storage space; plus exclusive use of the downstairs shower room (towels provided). Guests can expect a clean and comfortable night's stay. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in your room, and there are plenty of great cafes nearby. There is a hairdryer on request and a full-length mirror in your room. We have a labrador, Haidee, an ex guide dog, who has run of the house but is not allowed upstairs (as nobody is perfect we do suggest keeping your bedroom closed to ensure no unexpected visits though!) Laundry facilities and an iron and ironing board available on request. Unfortunately, only adults can be accommodated here as the room is not set up for children, however little! Breakfast is provided in the dining room which will be delicious homemade muesli, juice, fruit in season, artisan bread/toast with homemade jams or organic honey and tea or coffee. We have a range of herbal teas in addition to Earl Grey and English Breakfast and an espresso coffee machine if you need a little caffeine kick to start your day off right! We are only a 15-minute stroll from the nearest station and only 5 minutes from the tram stop Excellent range of guide books, local information, local restaurant recommendations.
    Our house is perfectly located for you to enjoy and explore abundant restaurants, cute bars, and shopping. Easy walking distance (15 minutes) to a range of cafes, pubs and restaurants, the cinema and the fresh food market, open 5 days a week. The nearest wine bar and local fish and chips are just 2 minutes walk away! Auburn Village, a short stroll away down one of the finest residential strips in Melbourne, is an untouched strip dotted with boutiques and cafes for the sophisticated and friendly clientele that will keep you coming back. A perfect spot to spend a weekend brunching, riverside walking or hitting the shops. Also in easy walking distance is Camberwell shopping centre with numerous eateries, cafes and bars and a great range of shops and boutiques, as well as several other lovely local shopping areas - Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn and Maling Road in Canterbury. Here you can find pretty much anything you may want and there is plenty to choose from in terms of restaurants and cafes, books and clothes. Buses to Chadstone shopping centre with all the designer stores. Because of the large student population (we are just over 2 km from Swinburne University) there are several pubs offering cheap meals and a good atmosphere. Then we have probably Melbourne's best flea market which is held every Sunday morning in the car park in front of Safeway supermarket in Camberwell. We have a Walk Score of 79 out of 100. This location is Very Walkable so most errands and outings can be accomplished on foot. Nearby parks include Rathmines Reserve, Sir William Angliss Reserve and Deepdene Park.

The house is beautiful and the room is private and comfy with its own bathroom downstairs. Water, tea and coffee are provided in the room and a wonderful breakfast each morning accompanied by great conversation. I do not hesitate to recommend Toni’s place and I will be returning soon.

You will be sharing the space with a couple, but have your own private room & bathroom. Due to the current pandemic we are taking extra precautions to keep ourselves and guests safe. Including limiting interactions, self isolation, and extra cleaning and sanitising precautions.
    You will have your own private bedroom, furnished with a queen bed and large wardrobe. There is a bathroom, separate to the room that you will have to yourself with the exception of the small laundry off the bathroom, and we will provide toiletries/towels. There is unlimited WiFI and Netflix/Stan on the living room TV. Please also note that the bedroom does not have air conditioning but the nearby living room does and can keep the apartment cool. There is a fan which can be made available for your use in the bedroom.
    There are parks nearby, and a strip of shops next to the station, including a cafe & convience store. Woolworths is also less than 1 km trip away. Toorak & South Yarra shopping/cafe precicts are also easily accessible.

    One thing I often get is people don't realize how good this location is until they arrive. 10 minutes walk to the famous Abbotsford convent, close to Fitzroy and Melbourne botanical garden and Melbourne Cricket ground. On one side you have all the prominent cafes, exquisite restaurants, bbqs, dessert house, bars, shopping strips, entertainment, music/DVDs, cinemas, local bakery.. a multicultural bonanza. On the other side you have gardens, parks, river, walking trails, castles and convents, boathouses, secret alleys, picnic, children's farm and farmers market etc This house is amazingly located on a quiet tree-lined street sandwiched in the middle of all above.     Welcome to our Victorian period home located in Hawthorn East, just steps from our front door it's just a quick tram ride into the heart of the CBD, the MCG & Olympic Park. Swinburne University & Melbourne Uni Hawthorn campuses are minutes away. Deakin University is a short ride on the #75 tram and Camberwell junction with a major shopping strip with loads of cafes and restaurants is just a short walk away.
    Your bedroom has a Queen-sized bed, and if you are visiting in the cooler months an electric blanket to keep you toasty, You have your own private bathroom/toilet just down the hall from your room. The room has period Victorian features including a non-working fireplace. The street is nice and quiet. but within easy walking distance to a fabulous shopping area. There is a box in the room with tourist information for Melbourne and surrounds as well as a tv and wifi information.
    The street is a dead end street that backs on to a lovely park. Camberwell Junction shops and the Art Deco Rivoli cinema are about a 5 minute walk from the house. There is a fabulous Sunday market every Sunday selling clothes, furniture, antiques, flowers and all kinds of odds and ends and a great atmosphere with musicians. There are loads of great shops at the Junction on Bourke Road, as well as supermarkets and a fresh food market.

But guests don't really need a car - the tram is right there, train nearby and most things in Melbourne can be walked to in 5 minutes from this great location - central but quiet!!
  • Excellent stay in the centre of Melbourne. I would stay again. Having the free breakfast was great. Shame the sauna was under repair as I was looking forward to that.

  • Such a wonderful experience beyond expectations! We were able to check in early as our flight landed an hour and a half prior to check in time. So many amenities available! There were teas, coffee, cooking utensils, extra body washes, shampoos and conditioner, hand wash, towels, toilet paper and towels. They were branded too. I absolutely loved the cereal dispenser and hair dryer. I just hoped there would have been a bowl available and more cups. One of the ice dispensers in the freezer are broken. The plates were very high from reach. The couch and table were a little dirty but it was fine and the toilet flush button was slightly broken. The bed was clean and amazingly comfortable. I loved the comfort of the pillows. I wasn’t expecting such an AMAZING view and VERY VERY convenient location. As well as access to the pool, sauna and gym. We were so close to coles, trams, the sky bus and a whole outlet shopping centre opposite the building. It was never a struggle to travel, find stores and places to eat and drink. Overall I am so grateful for staying with bill and chris on our melbourne trip and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend, the room was perfect for my partner and I. Very homey and spacious.

  • Great place to stay. The location is superb for exploring the city and for those arriving via Southern Cross Station and airport (using Skybus). The apartment was well equipped and very clean. I appreciated the communication on arrival as my flight was delayed twice. It was great to be personally greeted by Gavin. The cafe suggestion was fantastic too, literally around the block, Hudson Cafe.

  • Bill's place is a great place to stay when you are in Melbourne. Everything you need is very close by: trains, trams, grocery stores etc. The place was very clean and have all the amenities you need. I would recommend this place to anybody who is traveling to Melbourne.

  • Bill's place is located directly opposite Southern Cross station which is very convenient. There are many trams available nearby too and it is within the Free Tram Zone. Communication with Bill was replied very promptly.

    The room is big, and besides sleeping arrangements the room has its own living area with sofa, table and a 40" TV with Netflix. Two adults can live here very comfortably.
    Balwyn is a family suburb east of Melbourne, about 10km from the city. It's a residential area with many schools, families, kids and pets, and very quiet and safe both day and night.

  • We stayed in the En-suite room for five days. The instructions for self checkin was perfect and easy to follow. Wei and Ting were very thoughtful hosts, they knew what travellers would need and prepared them all in advanced. The room, attached bathroom, shared kitchen and common amenities were clean and well maintained. Highly recommended for couples/friends who enjoy a tinge of serenity in busy Melbourne. :)

  • The home was lovely, the en-suite room was beautifully laid out with a couch and excellent wardrobes (we stayed a week). The shower is awesome and the bed is comfortable. The shared kitchen/laundry space is well laid out and everything is labelled. Communication was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
