Places to stay in Farmington
Guest suite with private bath in classic Maine farmhouse. Spacious loft room with your own fireplace to take off the chill. Great for weekend skiers or adventure enthusiasts looking for a home base for exploring Western Maine. In the summer months our property is a working farm and you are welcome to explore all that we have going on here! You have to walk through a shared kitchen and dining room to reach your suite.
This room is on the second floor of an older updated farmhouse. Expect classic features like low ceilings and narrow stairwells but charming details such as porcelain bathroom features and an original slate sink in our kitchen. The bathroom is private for your use during your stay and is located on the 1st floor, right at the bottom of the stairs leading to the loft. The room also includes a television. Guests are welcome to bring their own gaming or streaming devices or login to their own account on our guest Roku.
We are one mile from downtown Farmington, a quaint town in Western Maine home to many independant shops, artisan galleries, and a local college. We have a great local ski slope, Titcomb Mountain, which is a great community ski area and perfect for learing to ski. About 40 minutes North is Sugarloaf ski resort as well as lots of hiking and biking trails.
  • Nice, quiet farmhouse. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Nice place to get away.

  • Stayed at Erica’s place for a few nights and had a very pleasant stay. Plenty of privacy as the house is basically split into two parts. I used the house as a base for skiing Sunday River/Sugarloaf and for some snowmobiling. The TV was nice to have to sit back and enjoy a movie at the end of a long day. Kitchen and dining room always available for coffee/tea and for cooking your own food if needed. Erica was extremely hospitable and nice to talk to. Can’t beat the friendly cat as well, who is always looking for a warm body to cuddle with. Great spot!

  • Super great stay perfectly located around the mountains and farming spots with a quaint down town. Their home was so adorable. Entire loft to yourself. They go by a pick up after yourself policy that I wish I knew before hand. Aside from that it was peaceful and beautiful and their amenities were fabulous. Amazing book collection and games

    Miranda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place! Great hosts! Really good-hearted people :) Erica and Dave went out of their way to help me- even coming to my friend’s rescue to tow him out of a snow bank when he was stuck!

    Chelsea2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a great place to stay and your thoughtfulness and kindness! We had a really nice time skiing at Titcomb Mountain AND appreciate you shoveling the 6-7 inches of snow powdah to our truck! Kevin, Rena and Addison

Plenty of space to move around inside. The location is great, only a few minutes from town. Can't wait to stay again, this will be first choice when in this area again.

Check in/check out couldn’t have been easier (despite us arriving late and leaving very early), the bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was clean, cozy, and easily accessed with a bathroom attached. It felt like we had our own little area in the house. Would definitely stay again the next time we’re in Farmington or passing though!

  • Lyn and Bruce are an example of PERFECT AirBnb hosts!!! Communication was amazing from beginning to end. When I checked in, they made it clear that I could call (upstairs) with any questions or if I needed anything. Their basement apartment is quintessential Maine, complete with stunning views of mountain sunrises and sprawling night stars!!! They have thought of everything for the comfort of their guests, including snacks and breakfast items to start you out. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Wilton/Farmington area, look no further. This is it!!!

  • Linda was an amazing host, she was there to welcome us to the place and was very accessible if we ever needed something.

    Kyle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place was very cozy and very clean. The bed matress was amazing, both me and my daughter said that we didn't want to get out of for being so comfortable, even for me who I normally like firm mattresses. Linda had thought of everything a guest may need including emergency items such as nail filers, Tylenol (which I was so grateful Linda had thought of), treats and breakfast items. My kids loved the space as well! Excellent host! Thank you Linda!

  • Lyn is a wonderful host. I appreciated her clean and comfortable accommodations. Many thoughtful extras. If you are staying during winter snow, an AWD vehicle is required to get up the steep hills to this neighborhood.

The privacy on this 3 acre property and the proximity to town, (1 mile).
  • This is the second time I've stayed here. The first time was over four years ago. The hospitality and comfort I remembered years ago has remained! What an awesome and affordable place to stay, close to the mountains. After a long day at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center I decided to stick around Sunday night instead of making the drive back to Portland. I remembered staying at Nathalie's place from a trip years before, so I set up a reservation to stay that night (super last minute, making sure to let her know that I understood if it was too rushed and didn't mind finding other options). She got back to me right away and had the room ready for me in no time!! I even got to spend the evening in the hot tub (my favorite part!). This is a great spot to stay for an individual or a couple looking for a ski or bike getaway in the Carrabassett Valley, without paying resort prices! One of my favorite spots to spend a night.

    Ryan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A nice stop for the night on our way up to Sugarloaf. We got in after midnight, we had clear instructions on how to enter the house and didn't have to bother anyone to get in. Unfortunately didn't have time to check out the jacuzzi but it looked awesome!

    Arlie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hosts. Natalie can't do enough for you. Friendly, homely, clean and welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

    Richard2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nathalie is an incredible host! She was very sweet and was extremely helpful during our stay. We were even offered some apples off her apple tree and there were some trails off the back yard we got to explore with our pup. She told my husband and I where all the good spots are in town, and we were not disappointed. Our area in the home was very cozy and hope we can come back to see her again!

See you in the spring! Large windows to enjoy the view, even when you are lying in your comfy queen bed. Designed for relaxation, enjoy morning sunrises and evening sunsets, either inside or out by the gas fire. The cabin has "spectacular views and utter peacefulness". Yet it is only 5 mins from downtown Farmington with its shops, restaurants, movie theater, concerts, groceries, and walking trails. Experience hiking trails, kayaking, swimming, mountain biking, and more. Enjoy a unique getaway!
There are a lot of beautiful views in this area, but people are truly amazed when they see my view, with the mountains to the north and the lights of the town to the east. This is my hometown. I know the area very well and am ready to share my favorite spots, history, and anything else you might want to know about the area and grand state of Maine. I have maps, ideas, and the knowledge. Although the house is near the main house it is very private with a private outdoor seating area. With the comfortable cabin as your home, you'll be happy you chose the Hilltop House! Sorry, due to allergies, no pets.
The neighborhood is rural, with the occasional sound of cows, owls, crickets, birds, distance chain saws, occasional mowing.
  • We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was exactly what we needed. Quiet and relaxing. I was particularly happy about the extremely comfortable bed. The cabin has a lot thoughtful little touches and the view is amazing!

    James2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to unplug and get away I would highly suggest the Hilltop cabin! Such gorgeous views with a very friendly and helpful host.

  • Great location, just a few minutes outside of downtown! If you're in the area for a few days this apartment is much more spacious and private than a motel, perfect for parents visiting their kids at UMF! Bob & Kathy responded quickly to any inquiries we had, very accommodating!

  • Much more than I expected. Bright and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches.

    Stephen2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, clean place. Enjoyed how close it is to town, and the food and coffee for breakfast was a nice touch. We recommend staying here.

  • This second floor apartment with private entrance has plenty of space. A large living room, kitchen area with microwave, mini fridge and toaster oven, full bath with shower, and bedroom. Everything was in good shape, and the living room has comfortable seating, a good TV - it felt home-y and cozy with the wintry country scene out the windows. Kathy greeted us warmly. There is a garage space (no garage door) for a guest to park in - a nice amenity during the snowy / icy winter. We would be happy to stay again!

Spacious, quiet carriage house in the Western Maine foothills nestled between farmhouse and barn. 15 acres of gardens, meadows and woods. Great for meandering and wandering about, walking the labyrinth, resting in the shade garden and orchid, and visiting with the donkeys and goats. Sleeps five. Great for time with family and friends, as well as solitude. We gladly accept all persons 21 and older. We welcome children and infants. 4 miles north of Farmington towards Sugarloaf.
Fun, roomy design with a Maine woods spirit. Sleeps 5. 2 bedrooms, one on first floor and one in the loft. Sofa Sleeper in common area. Pac n Play available. Porch and Deck. Great for cross-country and snowshoeing in the winter. Very cool woodstove. Fire pit in the meadow and a cozy hammock hidden under spruce trees. Downtown Farmington is great--University of Maine Farmington, good restaurants, a great independent bookstore and Reny's (a Maine tradition!). We are about 45 minutes from great hiking trails—Appalachian, Mount Blue, Tumbledown. Kingfield is 25 minutes, Sugarloaf area about 35 to 40 minutes. Rangeley Lake area about 45 minutes. Clearwater Lake is about 10 minutes. We have lived in Maine about 10 years. We love Maine. We love to share our small farm and our more rural way of being in the world (we spent many, many years in the city). We love our animals. We have two rescued miniature donkeys (Lulu and Rosta), a baker's dozen of free range chickens (plenty of fresh eggs for you!), and two cats, Percy and Zoe, who roam here and there. Welcome!
Woods separate farm from highway and neighbors.
  • What a wonderful getaway spot!

    Jennifer2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Bill and Victoria's place. We chose to stay here on a weekend trip skiing at Sugarloaf and thought this was the perfect spot. From the cozy beds, to the gorgeous shower, to the snacks thoughtfully stocked up, the farm fit our groups' needs and then some. We loved watching the donkeys in the morning as we were waking up. You won't go wrong staying here! Bill and Victoria are fantastic hosts.

    Becca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really great place to stay. we loved the design of the space; part of us was sad that we didn’t have a day just to spend some time relaxing there.

    Christopher2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Victoria are gracious hosts! From the beginning, their communication was excellent. They gave us detailed directions on how to find the farm which made our arrival much easier. After a 7 hour drive, we found the kitchen stocked with peanut butter/bread, juice, fresh eggs from the chickens, coffee, and any snack and kitchen essential waiting. After a tour we settled in to the loft and bedroom and found them very comfortable and a perfect warm temp for winter in rural Maine. There are large beautiful windows with great views of the farm, and lots of natural light that fills the cottages open floor plan. This place is spotless, and every corner has special/thoughtful touches and amenities that make the carriage house home. We can’t wait to be back!

    Tristram2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria and Bill were absolute WONDERFUL hosts! The house was so cozy and wonderful to come back to after our long work days. We so appreciated their quick responses and communication throughout for this was a work trip and we had a very busy weekend. Thank you two so much!

    Grace2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A true gem. I would stay here forever. We loved the fun interior and the ability to bake and cook all of our own meals, finding the kitchen well stocked with pots and pans. Bill and Victoria thought of everything!

  • Bill and Victoria's place is fantastic and lives up to its many great reviews. Beautiful and comfortable space with everything you need for a great stay, I hope to visit again sometime.

A cozy private cottage on Brettuns Pond where you can relax, swim, fish, and enjoy a getaway. Cottage is located on a dead end road and has over a hundred feet of water frontage right out the front door. Enjoy a campfire or a quiet evening listening to our loons singing at night. Sorry no pets allowed.
    Quiet neighborhood with nearby stores.
  • The view is beautiful and the cottage is a perfect place to relax!

    Elaina2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Matt's place was so cozy and impressive! We spent very little time at the cabin as we spent all Saturday sight seeing by the shore and Sunday left early morning to make the most of the day snowboarding before heading back home. Matt's house was very clean and cozy. I loved the layout. I can't remember how many guests it's listed to host, but I think the beds were a little small to share even with my 7 year old daughter (and I am small myself). I think it's an ideal get away for 1-2 people, probably not for a family or for 3 well-developed adults. But nevertheless, both my children and I loved it!!! The location is also beautiful and secluded. Must be amazing in the summer!! I would definitely recommend Matt's place and I would love to come again just to experience the lake in the summer!! Thank you so much Matt for your hospitality!!

    Irene2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's cottage is fabulous. This was my second stay. It is peaceful, super clean, extremely well appointed and furnished. The view is unbeatable. I'll be back again in May! Can't wait. I highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing and beautiful getaway.

  • Matt and Christine's Cottage is truly a gem! It is beautifully appointed, cozy, super clean, peaceful and lovely in every respect. The view is outstanding and the perfect winter quiet was exactly what I needed. Great gas fireplace, very comfy beds, jetted bathtub....what more could one want? Matt and Christine are so responsive, too. I highly recommend this cottage! You will love it. I can't wait to go back and will be doing that next month.

  • What an amazing stay+ experience, blown away by the beautiful scenery by the lake, sunset and sunrise are astonishing, the cottage is very clean and cozy, fireplace was a perfect touch, and Matthew is very hospitable, we were met with snow on our second day and his son shoveled our driveway. Can’t say enough about this cottage.

Home is on 11 acres with spectacular views of Mt. Blue. 6 miles from downtown Farmington. We are a quiet university town, with many grocery stores, shops, restaurants, and a hospital. Fishing, hunting, boating, swimming, hiking, ATV'ing, snowmobiling, skiing minutes away. 45 minutes to Sugarloaf. 15 minutes to Maine's ITS. One garage and 2 driveways. Pet friendly. We installed a whole-house generator, so power problems are a thing of the past!
If you've been looking for a vacation in the quiet countryside of Maine, this is the place for you! Our place is on 11 acres, much of which is wooded, but we also have a huge side yard for your family fun. You can hike and snowshoe in the woods right on the property, or you can drive 10-20 minutes to countless opportunities for hiking, boating, swimming, hunting, and snowmobiling. We are truly out in the country, but only 15 minutes from downtown Farmington, the home of the University of Maine. There are several large grocery stores, many restaurants, and shops in Farmington. Don't miss the parades throughout the year (I guaranty you've never seen anything like the Chester Greenwood Parade in December), and the Franklin County Fair in September. Just search online for western Maine events for an endless supply of fun things to do. We have a first rate hospital in Farmington. Then, of course, there are the amazing views of the mountains of Western Maine right from your living room window!
We are truly out in the country, six miles outside of Farmington. We're located at the top of a hill, which provides spectacular views of the western Maine mountains, including Mount Blue. The only homes nearby are this one, ours next door, and the one neighbor across the street. There's plenty of wildlife.
  • Paul and Bette’s place is adorable. It is beautifully done up and extremely comfortable. The beds are incredibly comfortable with memory foam mattresses! The kitchen is well equipped with several sets of dishes and cooking utensils. They were very thoughtful, to the extent that not only did they provide all the essentials for us humans, but also kept a dog dish and poo bags for our dog. While my son skied, I spent time in the house with our dog just relaxing. There is one space directly upon entering that is very sunny and a perfect spot to sit, relax, and read a book. Actually, the entire house is filled with sunlight from sunrise to sunset which made the stay that much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this home to all.

    Sanghamitra2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin/cottage is fantastic! It's clean, roomy, has a great view of the sunrise/sunset, and most importantly my dog loved it! The hosts were more than accommodating and lived next door. Kitchen had all the kitchenware needed and I'm hoping to come back up for another skip trip in the future!

    Hanley2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay in the winter. We loved snowshoeing in the woods behind the house, and also within walking distance was a nice little hike to what I would assume to be a gorgeous waterfall in the spring. The propane fireplace was a very nice touch that really warmed the room with no hassle of a wood stove. The king size bed was so comfortable for us, as we like firm mattresses. We slept great while there. Paul and Bette were great hosts, with plenty of helpful info before arriving and they also were happy to let us borrow an extension cord while we were there. Our only downside is a personal preference, so I didn’t reduce the five-star review. We had thought that the house would seem more secluded. There are only two neighbors, but they (the owners) are right next door and another neighbor is right across the street from them. The road was busier than we expected, but still not too much traffic in comparison to being closer town. Like I said, this was a personal preference, so might not even matter to most.

    Manda2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third time staying at Paul & Bette’s place. It’s such a charming, clean, cozy, and comfortable home. We spent the week snowboarding at Sugarloaf, and we find that the drive up 27 is smooth and quick. It was great to have the full kitchen available to us so we could cook meals throughout the week and limit spending on mountain. The house has everything you need for a week away. Paul and Bette are very responsive hosts, extremely welcoming, and available to help if at all needed. They’re always quick to thoroughly clear snow after a storm, as needed. We would definitely stay again when looking up in the area!

    Molly2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in sub-zero weather into this warm and cozy home. House was immaculately clean, and everything we needed was there. Enjoyed the propane stove. Comfortable seating and beds. Beautiful view of the mountain. Nice touches- chocolates for our Valentine Day stay!

    Therese2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Paul’s home is beautiful and spacious! The location was perfect for a ski weekend at Sugarloaf. The kitchen is well equipped and the view is gorgeous!

Dave's Place is located on a dirt road just west of Clearwater Lake. It's just a half mile walk to public boat launch and beach. Downtown Farmington is approximately 5 miles where you can find all the local necsecities, restaurants, shopping, groceries, laundry, banks, hospital, police, and a post office. The cabin has a kitchen, dining room, bathroom with a shower, bedroom with a queen size bed, another bedroom with a full size bed.
The livingroom is downstairs. Enter through garage, daylight basement. There may be a few of our personal belongings in the garage, for we are constantly trying to upgrade the space. Suggestions are encouraged Thank you for everyones suggestions, and costructive criticism.
There are only 2 neighbors in sight. One across the road, and the other is through the woods a piece. Great neighbors, and a wonderful neighborhood! There's always lots going on arond the lake. Don't be suprised to hear the loons or owl's at night. you might even spot a whitetail deer in woods out back. It's a short walk to the store, public beach, and public boat launch.
  • Such a great little cabin! We drove up to go snowmobiling for a few days and it was so beautiful. Right above Clearwater lake. Jane and Dave were quick responders, helpful and very nice! We would stay again. 😀

    Ashley2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy cottage! 10 minutes to town, nice quite private road. Bar downstairs. Nice place for a weekend getaway. Do recommend

    John2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and we couldn’t have had a better time. What a great little cabin in the mountains of Maine. So much better than a hotel room. Jane was an amazing host. We will definitely be visiting again.

    Missy2019-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for the perfect cabin in the woods to rest and relax and we found the perfect place at Jane and Dave’s cabin. They made sure everything was perfect for us and we will certainly go back again.

    Courtney2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin just far enough from town to feel peaceful and quiet. Pleasant deck, working TV and Wifi, and frequent visits from adorble wildlife friends. On a dirt road that's in great condition, and has zero potholes (far less than many of the surrounding paved roads!) Great location for a quick drive into town for ice cream, or a long walk along a gorgeous little chunk of Maine. We had a great time!

    Ellen2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Jane and Dave's. The house was exactly as described. It was very clean and comfortable. The view off the front deck, master bedroom and dining area look out over the lake across the street. It is clearly visible this time of year, maybe not so much when the leaves come back. The neighborhood is peaceful. I recommend a SUV in the winter as the access road is dirt and can get muddy. Dave let us know that right when we book and communication was great via text through the AirBnB app. We never met Dave and Jane but they were very helpful and live close by if we needed anything. The downtown of Famington was great. We enjoyed the little shops and recommend visiting Liquid Sunshine and the Homestead Kitchen for anyone who stays here. It is a great little New England downtown. There are farms all over, especially maple syrup farms. We felt that we totally got our moneys worth staying at Jane and Dave's house.

    Glenn2018-04-08T00:00:00Z

Cozy home in the western Maine mountains. Close to Rangeley (30 minutes), Sugarloaf (40 minutes), hiking, hunting and snowmobile trails. Enjoy exclusive access, including permission to hunt, hike, snowshoe, and cross country ski, to over 600 acres of land and trails at Riverweb as part of your stay. Our property is very close to regional snowmobile trails that are part of the Maine Snowmobile Association. We welcome dogs! Our pasture-raised beef and pork is available for sale during your stay.
I think this home is really cute and special. It has lots of light and great views. Being close to both Rangeley and Sugarloaf is ideal for 4 seasons of fun. What really makes this home unique is the access it provides you to Riverweb's 600 acres of forests, fields, ponds and rivers. There is outdoor space for you and your dogs: a picnic table, a fire pit with a swivel grill (please bring your own wood), and a dog run.
This is a very rural part of the world. I think it's stunningly beautiful every day.
  • Place was super clean, slept 5 people comfortably.

  • This place is a gem! Nicely situated on a farm... nice master bedroom and cozy loft bedroom... well-Appointed kitchen and living space... we had a great overnight on our way to ski at Sugarloaf. The sunset and views of the mountains were great. Check-in was easy. We will definitely come again if we are in the area.

  • We were a group of six students from boston and after a long drive coming to a place like this was just unbelievable. Secluded midst nature the place was well maintained with all facilities. The view to which we woke up will be left in our minds forever. Will surely be back to this place again

    Kushal2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a peaceful weekend retreat. The place is well and intentionally designed. Well furnished kitchen with great cookware. Not too far from great slopes and trails for skiers. The hosts were friendly and responded quickly. Roads around the property are pretty rough. Bring a vehicle with good suspension, the higher off the ground the better. 4WD in winter

    Steven2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jos’s place was beyond our expectations. Large clean space with every amenity you’ll possibly need. It is a great place for those looking to enjoy nature or sight seeing in beautiful Maine. **snowmobilers take note** There is no trail access from this property. The nearest trail is 1.3 miles down a paved road. Trailering and find a spot to park/unload daily is the best option.

    Deb2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Katrina was such a lovely host from beginning to end! We stayed here only for the weekend but she made sure we had everything we needed, and made sure we got comfortable! She had apples and oranges and some popcorn and oatmeal waiting for us! Along with OJ, eggs, grapes, water bottles, bread and bagels, and even some coffee creamer in the fridge when I forgot mine at home, like she read my mind! My boyfriend and I love to cook together so she left her own waffle maker and a brand new box of waffle mix for us too! The bed was so comfortable it made the end of the long days that must better. She left shampoo and conditioners and a cleanser and even extra toothbrushes in the bathroom as well. I will definitely be coming back, what a memorable experience, thank you!!

  • This was a spectacular hidden little gem. Words and pictures, don't even begin to say or show just how wonderful it was there. My husband and I were beyond happy with our stay there. It was such a wonderful surprise to get the beautiful flowers for our anniversary. We loved the sunrises on both days that we were there and the beauty of nature and it's sounds. There was still some wonderful foliage to see. We definitely want to go back again and hopefully bring another couple with us. And we definitely highly recommend this place to any and everyone, especially if you are looking for a wonderful place for a getaway.

    Kim2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Access to lake and the view is awesome. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace. Stay was made comfortable with the heater.

  • Lovely home by the water! Michael and Karen are outstanding hosts! They are very thoughtful - my husband and I booked for the weekend for a little getaway and they left us a bottle of Prosecco, which we appreciated. In addition, since the water is not potable, they had left us a gallon of fresh water. The cabin itself is beautiful, very well decorated and cozy. Perfect for relaxing and taking time away from the noise of everyday city life. My husband and I love birds, and it was wonderful to find a pair of binoculars since we forgot ours at home. We got to see a couple of loons and a bald eagle! We had a wonderful time and strongly recommend Michael and Karen’s cabin!

Private bathroom, private entrance, lots of space! Beautiful 4 season enjoyment. Close to hiking trails, ski slopes, and LLBean. It is rural Maine, GPS and internet can be sketchy. You might want to print directions before you travel. Don't hesitate to call if you need assistance.
Private bathroom/shower! Private entrance to basement space all to yourselves. Full size futon with memory foam pad, folks tell me it's very comfortable. Plenty of room for reading, Journaling, movie watching or sipping coffee. Includes a mini fridge, microwave, kuerig, and toaster. Sleep to the song of the loons, wake up to a view of the lake. Use the kayaks or SUP available.
We have a Sheriff that lives across the street. We live on Norcross Pond, it is usually very quiet.
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my 1-night stay there. As others have mentioned, it's a large, stylish space - can perch at the table to eat and drink, microwave to heat things, plates, bowls, cutlery etc. provided, keep things chill in the fridge, coffee maker (with coffee!) in the mornings - and a great comfy bed to sleep in, combined with a cozy seating area and even movies. Sparkling clean, and a lovely view in the morning out the window by the bed. A thoroughly charming place, great find, and a great value. I did have trouble finding the place - my fault - did not read thoroughly enough the notes on the location and Google's mis-identification of the location, so it is a good idea to double check - it's on the northern end of Norcross Pond, on the main Ridge Road. Vicki's responses were always extremely fast and thoughtful. Heartily recommended.

  • Vicki's place is a real gem. It's big, private and the view to the pond is breathtaking. We really loved the fact that there was no internet or cellphone reception, it felt like a real vacation that way. Vicki was very welcoming and it was so nice of her to let us use her kayaks. We would love to stay with her again in the future.

  • Lovely place! All the amenities you need for a short stay. The pond is lovely, we made it for a swim,. Vicki has done a great job of making the space comfortable. We were in town for a family wedding, while we were there we used the refrigerator, microwave, played cards, ate snacks out on the Adirondack chairs overlooking the pond. Really a lovely place.

  • It was so comfortable for the two of us. Had its cute oddities that made it interesting and enjoyable. The Hosts were amazing and did not seem to be bothered when we bothered them. Had information for the area and offered info as they found out our interests. The internet service was very good and not slow. Very clean. Had all the utensils needed for cooking on the stove or out on the grill. I would definitely go back.

Your comfortable one bedroom is on the first floor with your private bath across the hall. You will be able to enjoy the country atmosphere on a quite dead end street. There is lots to do on the property as our home is located on a pond. You will be within driving distance of many area attractions.
You will have a private bedroom with a queen bed and your own bathroom with a shower right across the hall. You will have access to many shared parts of our property to include a dining room, a sun room overlooking the lake, a tv/exercise room downstairs, a small deck overlooking the back yard, a laundry area, a large back yard and lake front to swim or boat.
If you like the country you will love this area. There are six homes on our street with beautiful trees and fields with views looking down onto the lake and up into the hills. You will have access to hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, canoeing and boating right outside your door in the warm summer months. In the winter months you can use the same areas to snowshoe, cross country ski, snowmobile, and ice fish. If you want to drive a little there is unlimited Maine attractions like ski mountains and hiking trails close by. The ocean and its many beaches is close enough for a nice day trip. Being at the heart of Maine the possibilities are endless.
  • Our stay in Livermore was lovely. Denis and Brenda provided a nice room, clean and spacious, with closet and drawers (a few drawers were not empty, but there was room for our modest stuff) and access to a basement TV/game room, sunroom with breakfast table, kitchen, and their huge yard sloping down to a beautiful pond. (We didn't use the kayak or float, but it looked like fun!) Plenty of food choices for cook-your-own breakfast. Our own drawer in the main kitchen refrigerator and our own small refrigerator in the basement. No grocery stores in the immediate area, and Denis made sure we knew this before we arrived. The surrounding area is nice for walking. Denis and Brenda were knowledgeable about the area and the neighbors, quick to respond to pre-trip correspondence, happy to answer our questions and chat about anything we found in common.

    Becky2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Denis and Brenda's place while in Livermore for a wedding and could not have been more pleased with our stay! The space is quiet, private, and immaculately clean in a perfect setting by a lake. We felt immediately at home with a very comfy bed, our own AC unit, and spacious bathroom. There is also a nice rec room in the basement for guests to relax and watch TV. Denis and Brenda were friendly and caring hosts, turning the lights on outside for us when we came back late at night and providing a lovely spread for breakfast each morning. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

    Shayna2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A stay at Denis place was a real treat. The house is located right by the lake providing it with a beautiful view as well as the perfect spot for a refreshing morning swim. The hospitality was phenomenal with Denis always going the extra length for us. He even called the pawn shop a few towns over to see if they had a used guitar for us. Highly recommend!

    Alexander2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Denis and Brenda were great hosts. They accommodated my late check-in and had everything in order when I got there. They also made sure I had enough to eat the next day even though I intended to leave very early. And what can I say about Brenda's banana bread- it was out of this world. I could not have started my day better.

    Kiran2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Maine primarily because of the hospitality and friendliness of Brenda and Dennis which was way beyond our expectations. The accommodations were comfortable and private. We did not have to go far for recreation since the house was located on a pond where we could canoe, fish and swim and even listen to the loons. They even invited us to pick some of their raspberries and sent us home with two jars of delicious homemade raspberry jam. We are already contemplating a return visit.

    Fred2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! Brenda and Denis are the consummate Airbnb hosts – welcoming, kind, generous, and quick to suggest ideas (and provide materials for) restaurants, hiking, sightseeing, activities, etc. They made me feel like a part of the family, and as a solo traveler, that’s especially appreciated. AND, they were very respectful of my space. The room is clean, private and on your own side of the house. Bathroom isn’t attached, but it’s right across the hall. Breakfast was great, and they check in with you before you arrive to get a sense of what you like to eat so they can have it on hand. The house is great, with a beautiful sloping lawn down to the lake. LOVED the lake, swam 2-3 times a day in its clear, cool waters, and enjoyed the shade and great breezes while hanging out on the bench they have at the lake’s edge. Would love to return!

    Peter2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a wonderful stay. The house is in a great location by the pond, and Denis and Brenda are fantastic hosts. Breakfast is great and they make sure everything for the stay is perfect. We’ll be back again for sure :)

  • Wonderful, secluded, rustic hideaway with everything one needs - to cook, to recreate, to stay in.... Even though the bathroom was outside, it was hardly an outhouse (flush toilet, sink, shower stall). Highly recommended!

  • This lake cottage is a hidden gem! If you are looking for the quintessential Maine lake camp, you have found it; Such a charming, relaxing spot directly on a beautiful, clear lake. You can’t help but relax and enjoy the nature that surrounds you. Sleeping on the screened in porch and looking out at the stars was my favorite part!

  • Stuart's place is a great deal, value for the money to be in the area. It was the perfect location for my visit. Be aware that the bathroom is downstairs while two of the bedrooms are upstairs. I got some good exercise. There are also steps going up to the front door. I mention that for accessibility awareness. Stuart was super helpful in getting my bags upstairs and back to the car, much appreciated.

  • This was a work stay and had everything I needed. Stuart is a hale fellow - very considerate, very helpful. Also, he has an excellent dog!

    Chris2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Stuart's place in January 2019 and it was an excellent experience. Its fantastically located because it feels like you're in the country, but you're actually within 15 minutes of anything you could want to do in the area. He has a large yard and his property touches the old railroad track bed which is awesome for walks and snowmobiling in the winter and 4 wheeling in the summer. The house itself is well insulated so you stay warm. His dog Bear is well trained and adorable. The driveway was a little slippery, but I went slow and it was not a problem. Overall a fantastic experience. Thank you Stuart!

  • Victor has a great lake cabin that's been in the family for years. You can tell there is a lot of love and work that's been put in, not to mention good times. The layout is perfect for a few couples and singles. Kitchen has every tool and then some that you could need, which helps if you enjoy to cook like us. The lake was frozen over this time of year, with a few people ice fishing. We took the dogs out for a walk there a bit. Would suggest 4 wheel drive in the winter as the driveway can be a bit icy and is steep. Also, make sure you join the wifi or print instructions out before arriving as you won't have any service out there! Was a great stay in ME. Hope to be back someday.

  • Perfect hidden cozy place to get away from the nouse

    Dale2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved every moment of our stay! I don't think I have ever been more relaxed. You'll be surrounded by trees and water and wont see a soul while you're there. The nightly train, the acorns dropping, the call of the loons, the hissing & popping of the wood stove and fire pit are some of the coziest sounds ever. The propane camp stove worked like a champ. We brought it outside on the deck railing for some outdoor cooking. The water access is very private so we ended up skinny dipping. We did yoga on the deck, bush whacked through the woods, explored the train tracks and just breathed in the clean open air. We drove a Chevy Volt and were just fine on the road. We went 5mph and carefully maneuvered the car over the roots. This is a tranquil spot to relax and expand into nature if that is your cup of tea. It was definitely ours.

  • This was my second visit to John's cabin and it was even better than what I remembered from my first! I arrived a bit later than anticipated and ran out of sunlight before finding the road in, John was super quick to respond to ensure all was well when I reached out to him. The driving trail had a few sticky spots and ground clearance would have been helpful, but I just took it easy in my car and didn't have any issues. Everything is exactly as listed and described (minus the gas grill in the pics— bring charcoal!) so there shouldn't be any surprises. I would agree with the suggestion of bringing whatever you think you'll want and need as if on a camping trip and you should be golden. Pro Tip: A strand of battery-powered LED lights adds a lovely ambiance when it gets dark. Or just let the stars do the work! :) I find John's place to be a great balance of quiet and secluded while still having the convenience of anything you may need within a close driving distance if necessary. I would highly recommend it if you're looking to comfortably step back from civilization for a bit and spend some time in nature.

  • UNBELIEVABLE stay at this beautiful cabin. My boyfriend and I got a nice little getaway to unwind and relax. He was skeptical with the no electric or actual bathroom but that ended up being our favorite part. You're really forced to switch up your daily routine. The road to the cabin comes up quick so you really need to keep your eyes open but when you find it you’ll know. Will 100% be back. Enjoy your stay!

    Devin2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! I’m not sure how people could find anything to complain about. If you’re careful driving down the dirt road, you’ll arrive at an awesome little cabin overlooking the water. Great fire pit and deck to relax on. 5 stars!

    Rob2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is exactly as described. Looking forward to my next visit.

  • A great “glamping” experience. The cabin was a great home base and had easy access to the lake for swimming / kayaking and paddle board. Will definitely come back!

Come and play in the beautiful mountains of western Maine! Cozy cabin for two perfect for a quiet getaway. Direct access to ATV trails and miles and miles of exploring the outdoors on nostalgic paths used long ago by the railroad. If you decide to venture away from the cabin by car, Rangeley and Sugarloaf USA are both 35 miles away & the college town of Farmington is just 15 minutes south. We know you'll fall in love with the quiet pace of Freeman Township, Maine.
This is a very rural area. There is a small convenience store a few miles down the road, but grocery shopping and restaurants are just a quick 15 minutes away.
  • Cozy little cabin in a beautiful part of the Maine wilderness. Near a cabin and right off a snowmobile trail. Elizabeth is responsive and the place was very clean and nicely appointed for a rural getaway weekend.

    Ted2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth and Travis are remarkable host! very prompt in responding to my many questions about the snowmobile trails in the area. The cabin is beautiful, brand-new with 24 in Pine floorboards, absolutely gorgeous. Travis even came out to rescue me at night when I got stuck on my snowmobile! I will definitely return again!!
