The house was as described. Quiet neighborhood. Ample parking space. A beautiful view of the lake. A nice TV - we could connect a chromecast and enjoy a movie. Good wifi connectivity. A 5 minute drive from the town - be it coffee(Dunkin Donuts) or a bar or food. Everything was close by. Not too far away from Newport or Providence. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.

I cant thank Dorothy enough. She was kind enough to host my basketball team over the weekend at her beautiful lake house. The view was amazing and the house was even bigger than we expected. We only had 8 people in the house but could have fit 20-25 easily! This house is more than worth the cost. Wish it was warmer and that we were able to spend more leisure time at the house because of how great the house was. This is a perfect place for large groups. It was more of a business trip for my group but i would definitely come back and spend a vacation at this lake house.

The house was a good place for a family gathering. The beach area and dock worked well for our grandchildren. We brought 2 kayaks and enjoyed using them on the lake, as did the kids. The house itself was a bit disappointing - although plenty large, the beds were mostly very uncomfortable (especially the double upstairs and the "king" downstairs) and there was a fair amount of deferred maintenance.

My girlfriends and I had a great time at this house! It's really spacious, and the lake and dock are beautiful. We made full use of the grill and the rest of the kitchen amenities, and everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. I would definitely rent this place again. A few minor issues- the basement area smells a bit mildewy, and there were a lot of tiny gnats (or something) that would get into the house at night - they were small enough to fit through the window screens. Both common problems when owning a lake house, I'm sure! I recommend that anyone staying here keeps the bedroom lights OFF as soon as it gets dark so that the bugs aren't attracted in.

Communication with Dorothy was seamless; the house met all of our expectations. As a bike team that travels, its great to return to an accommodating location after racing in the cold and rain. Dorothy was very responsive in returning a call in order to help us out on Saturday evening. I would recommend this property as a place to stay for large groups!

This house was everything we could of asked for and so much more. Me and my group knew that this could fit 10 easily so we booked it for a quiet relaxing weekend. Most of us arrived later on in the day. The layout took a bit getting used to but we quickly became accustomed to it. Anything that needed explaining or needed to be marked was (how to lock the patio, fan switch, garbage disposal switch, etc. etc). The recycling bin was clearly marked as well as the trash both inside and out. I am so glad we chose this place to rent to unwind. Great host, great house, great community.

This waterfront beach house is in a great location on a body of water which is really clean and great for swimming and water sports! This house has tons of space and everything you might need for a lakehouse getaway. Dorothy was very sweet to work with and called back within a day anytime we had questions prior to our stay. I rated this place a 3/5 stars based on a few downfalls. The property was pretty poorly maintained, and although the linens were clean, the place was full of cobwebs and spiders, the basement was musty from being too damp (dehumidifier had overflowed onto the floor), many of the dishes/grill was dirty and the coffee pot was half full of old coffee with mold floating in it. This place also does not have air conditioning and can be very warm in the summer months just as an FYI.

We had a lovely stay at this unique spot. The hosts could not have been more accomodating, putting on a beautiful spread and kindly inviting us on a hike the following mmorning. We enjoyed a kayak on the still lake and the fall colours in the twilight were perfect enough for an engagement. A very special stay.

Carolyn and Stephen are the perfect badass hosts. Set on the lake, their house encompasses you with warmth and peace. I first met Stephen when I arrived, (Carolyn was at work) and immediately I felt like I was visiting family. He showed me around the house and the room I would be staying in. We had a great conversation about politics, writing and how other countries are laughing at us (>.ll definitely be visiting again.

Carolyn was very accommodating to our late arrival. Her homemade breakfast was a major treat. The lake home is beautiful and despite our short stay, we totally had a good rest and managed to kayak around the lake :)

This was our 1st experience with Airbnb, and we couldn't be more pleased. From arrival to departure, our host went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Carolyn's breakfast alone is worth the price of admission. The views from our room were both lovely and peaceful, as we experienced the fall foliage. We look forward to our next trip to the area. If our future trips with Airbnb are even close to our experience with Carolyn & Steven, we will be very happy campers.

This is an extraordinary place to stay. The pictures don't do it justice--the house is surrounded by a lake, with a wraparound deck. The room is big enough for a sitting area and also cozy, and the bed is super comfy. Carolyn and Steven were warm and welcoming hosts. They made sure I had directions, they asked about my food preferences, they were flexible about my arrival time. My generous and delicious breakfast of quiche, fruit, and blueberry cake were ready the night before--allowing me a much needed snack when I arrived. If you're in the area, you couldn't find a better choice.

Carolyn and Steve were wonderful hosts. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Great communication prior to arrival and adequate parking for my over sized truck and trailer. They invited me to watch the Red Sox game with them prior to going to bed and we engaged in a nice conversation. The house and my room were very clean and inviting. Bed was very comfortable and had access to my private bathroom. I woke up in the morning to a beautiful lake view and a wonderful breakfast. I will definetly be back. Our stay was great. The place is small but we knew that going in. Plenty of room for our family of 5. We were comfortable in the cabin for everything from breakfast to relaxing before bed. The lake was lovely & the host was gracious enough to allow access of his paddle boats/fishing rods. Neighbors were friendly. Restaurant options weren't too far for when we didn't feel like cooking, Chester's was our favorite. No complaints. This was our first Airbnb experience and it was a home run! The cabin was clean, well kept, with all of the amenities a family would need for a weekend stay on the lake. My kids especially like the bunk bed. We thoroughly enjoyed the reviews from the backyard of the cabin, cooked out every night and enjoyed the spectacular views of the water. Although we didn't have much contact with Michael's neighbors, they were quite friendly when we did see them. Our family took advantage of the lake and kayaked for hours. Great experience. My friends and I had an awesome long weekend at Mike's place. Check-in and check-out was very smooth and communication with Mike was easy. The cabin was exactly as described and as pictured. The cabin is definitely cozy, but we already expected that based on the listing. The cabin was very clean and has an amazing backyard with grill, picnic table, chairs, and most importantly a dock opening into the lake, and comes with three kayaks, and a couple little boats that were available for us to use, which definitely made our weekend. Would definitely go back for another weekend by the lake!

It is a cozy space that was perfect for my family of three. In the humidity of summer, I was grateful to have the central air, but the a/c wasn't totally efficient. The bedroom was the hardest room to cool down, and the only place where we really needed it. The kayaks were a treat, as the lake is peaceful and beautiful. Thank you, Michael!

We had a very enjoyable stay at Paula and Pete's. Beautiful house, in lovely surroundings - fantastic views from the deck on the roof. And best of all, Paula and Pete's warm hospitality and lovely food - excellent breakfast and evening meal. We really enjoyed our stay. We had a lot of traffic coming out of Boston on a Friday afternoon so arrived later than intended. As it was dark, we found it a bit difficult to find, as every track covered in fall leaves looked the same, but Paula's helpful directions got us there without a problem. Ali

This is a very pleasant place to stay. Paula and Pete were so friendly and easy going. The house is small and delightful- we felt like we were staying with friends. The weather was warm- so we enjoyed keeping the bedroom deck door open... of course with the screen door shut. The bed was comfortable It was uplifting to be surrounded by nature. In the morning there was steel cut oatmeal, homemade granola and an offer of fresh eggs from their chickens!

Pete and Paula are wonderful hosts! The property is even better than pictured, the room is *very* quiet - you wouldn't even know you are sharing a house with them! Complete with night lights and flashlights, conveniently placed nightstands, and even a closet to hang your city clothes. The bathroom is clean and bright and has a great view of birds and the country. Nice and warm though it was cold outside at night (they had the wood stove fired up), easy to find, and close enough to Providence to go exploring without a long drive back. Plus, although they do have pets, they keep a really clean house and the pets are friendly without being obnoxious. Be sure to check out the roof top balcony (not recommended for the intoxicated or acrophobic) as well as the ancient stone walls that run though the property, a good part of which is forested. Honestly, if we hadn't had some city plans and a trip to the beach in mind, we would have been happy to hang out there the whole weekend. Lastly, I can't rave enough about Paula and Pete. They are friendly, cultured, down to earth, and really welcoming and warm human beings. Very knowledgeable about the area, and willing to go the extra mile to help make your trip memorable. Really, I want to go back to the area again just so I can stay with them again!

This was our fist Airbnb experience, and we were extremely pleased to find it was exactly as we had hoped. Paula and Pete’s place was just as described: peaceful and homey, surrounded by quiet fields, woods, and paths. Privacy was ours if we wanted, but our chats with Pete and Paula—swapping stories in the evening and over coffee the next morning—were delightful. Our only regret is that our stay was so brief. Paula and Pete were fun and energetic hosts! They provided a perfect amount of privacy and carried great conversation. I cannot possibly say enough great things about our stay. We enjoyed everything about the farm from the views, the pond, the outdoor shower, the animals, and the wild berries. After the most peaceful night sleep of your life you can easily get to the beach or the big city in 30 - 60 minutes. Perfect location and amazing hosts.

The land around the house is so beautiful - we couldn't stop taking pictures of everything! Their pets were super friendly and fun to spend time with. Breakfast in the morning was delicious as well! Thoroughly enjoyed Paula and Peter, their comfortable environs and wonderful woodlands. Gonna miss "curly" and "fuzzy" and Frank too. Its off the grid but close enough, and you have wireless if you really need to feel cosmopolitan.

Wonderful relaxing place. Loved taking dips in the pond, rinsing off in the outdoor shower and taking walks in nearby trail through meadow and woods. Sorry Paula wasn't there but Pete was great, as were all the animals.Pete went above and beyond as a host and I enjoyed talking to him, sharing some food. He was great with my dog, too.

I had a very nice time staying at Suzanne's in Smithfield, RI. Her home is exactly as she described. She greeted me when I arrived and gave me my privacy when I was at her home. She even left me a piece of apple pie. Her house and neighborhood are very nice. You not only get a bedroom, there is a kitchenette and sitting room to use. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Another great stay at Suzanne's. Before it was in summer but this time late fall/early winter. The area is just so beautiful and the country roads are so fun to explore from Suzanne's location.

This Airbnb was even better than I had expected. Suzanne greeted us warmly even tho we arrived quite late in the evening. The accommodations were perfect. The bedroom with king bed was ample. The little nook with fridge, microwave and toaster were all that we needed by way of a kitchen. She even set up a small table for us to use to eat our breakfast in a third room. And there was a private bathroom! Lovely artwork and personal items from her travels. We barely saw Suzanne because we were barely there but she was very sweet and considerate. If I ever have to go back to RI, I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

This place is a DREAM vacation. My friends and I went up for the 4th of July and we couldn't have been happier. I knew it was an island but I hadn't thought it would be so large and beautiful. We arrived when it was pouring rain (a setback yes, though tons of fun boating in the downpour- we had a good attitude about it) and had a blast hanging out in the cabin. It's pretty bare bones but there's really no need for frill. It comes equipped with silverware, some condiments and a small gas stove and fire place that made cooking that night a breeze. The following days were spent outside paddle boarding around the island, floating in one giant raft, playing horse shoe, and roasting marshmallows. The last night was so beautiful about half our crew slept outside under the stars. Make sure you pack ample amounts of ice- either way, you may have to boat back to the mainland to grab some more but it's an easy row. Highlight of the trip? Dot riding by on a jet ski waving us all hello. So sweet!

Due to heavy trafffic we arrived very late at the lake and didn't make it to the island with our 4 crying and tired kids. Desperate about the situation we called Dorothy and she arranged another of her houses for us immediately though it was already late in the evening. We stayed at the lake house in Pascoag and we really enjoyed being there. It was perfect for kids and nice retreat for us with nice views of the lake and direct access to the lake. The house had everything we needed and more! I would definitely recommend this house to everyone and would like to thank Dorothy again for her instant help and perfect way of dealing with our special situation. Fantastic!

I had a lovely time at this cabin. Eight of us gathered for an evening of swimming, boating, grilling, and general excellence. The accommodations are rustic but comfortable - everything you need to bring is laid out clearly in the listing. I even accidentally left behind the lantern I brought with me, so feel free to make use of that as well! I will say that you'll be happiest if you have additional boats with you. Toting eight people and their gear across the lake in the rowboat will get old real fast.

My daughter and I spent three memorable nights at this wonderful home. It was such a gift to return to this cozy refuge after our long days out looking at local colleges and visiting the Providence's many neighborhoods. From here we also visited Newport and returned in time for a late dinner in the city. Karen and Cindy couldn't have been kinder both before our arrival and once we were there. Both woman are artists with a great sense of color and design. It's obvious everywhere, both inside and in the stunning yard, even in the dead of winter!

We had a lovely visit (except for the insane snow in APRIL???) but Karen couldn't do anything about that..lol....The room was a great space - comfy, cozy and welcoming. It's like being in your own little hide-a-way. Karen had everything you could need including glasses, plates, silverware etc. I would recommend it highly.

I absolutely loved staying here! The accomodations were very comfortable and inviting; it definitely felt like a home-away-from-home. The residence is also in a great location - within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in town, as well as many of the historical sites and museums. Karen was a fantastic host! Karen's space is lovey and the architectural details make it a warm space to enjoy. Dad and I were sadly just in town to sleep in between graduation activities for my sister in another town, so we didn't get to use any of Karen's helpful tips for places to go and see in Providence. I thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious sheets on my bed, and the coffee was delicious! I'd definitely stay again. Oh! And I got to meet Karen's new puppy after she checked in on us to welcome us! So cute!

The space was clean, charming, and convenient. It was separated from the living area of the house and felt more like a private residence, which was perfect for what we needed.

Karen is a very nice and welcoming host. She was very helpful by giving us information about the area and she recommended places to go eat and shop if you have as little time as we did (just one night). I have never been to a cleaner, tidier and thought through Airbnb place than Karen's place. Even though to us it is normal/standard we don't expect this from other people - amazing! We enjoyed the private bathroom very much. For one it is private and two it is the cutest bathroom ever and I loved all the details and the nice soaps that Karen provided. The parking space for our SUV rental was very spacious. The house is in a quiet neighborhood where you can feel save. All in all I must recommend Karen as a host and her place for anyone interested in staying in Providence for a night or longer because Karen's place let us feel at home.

The picture of the room with the beautiful wood ceiling and comfortable-looking bed is actually what the room felt like - warm and cozy and thoughtfully furnished. The room is on the 3rd floor of a house but feels very private. It's in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of attractions like Little Italy. The off-street parking is great. The place has a lot of personal touches to make you feel at home, such as some excellent guidebooks of Rhode Island, silverware, numerous board games etc, even a raincoat. I would certainly stay there again. Good job!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this historic but modern space. Desi and her husband were very welcoming. The apartment felt even more spacious than the pictures and was located close to many of the Rhode Island attractions. We honestly didn't want to leave! Highly recommend!!

Desi was a pleasure to communicate with and answered very timely. Her place is exactly as described and has all the amenities you could want for a short stay. Everything about the place was easy - finding the house, parking, getting the keys, and getting the wifi password. An added plus is that the bed is really comfortable! The neighborhood is still being developed and there isn't a whole lot to do within walking distance, but Westminster street has a lot of really cool shops/cafes just a short drive away. I highly recommend staying at Desi's place if visiting Providence.

Sorry for writing the review this late. We had a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful stay at Desi's place. Desi and Eric are really nice couple and their place is just comfort as our own home. The only regret is we couldn't stay longer in this place. Really Highly recommend!

This is a perfect place to stay! The location is right in the center of Federal Hill which has many great places to explore. Providence itself is quite small so it is easy to get around anywhere and the location of the apartment is never out of the way. Ben was so easy to communicate with and was there to greet us on our arrival. He was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The apartment is beautiful and very spacious. Would highly recommend!

I really enjoyed staying at this apartment. The owners are terrific - very friendly with plenty of helpful advice about Providence. The apartment is very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed plus lovely extra touches such as fresh flowers, freshly ground coffee, and breakfast foods. The owner even brought us homemade cookies! I would happily stay here again, and I recommend it for your next visit to Providence. Please note there is a full flight of stairs to get to the apartment.

Ben was super! Apartment is fabulous, perfect location and there was so much attention to detail...fresh flowers, a nice assortment of toiletries, bowl of fresh fruit, cereals and milk and fresh ground coffee. One of the best airbnb's we've ever stayed at - and we stay a lot.

Mare's home was just lovely and perfect for us. We stayed there with our 2.5 year-old, who even got her own basket of toys for our stay there! It was a great location, well appointed and within walking distance to all of Wickenden, Thayer and surrounding areas. We could not have asked for a better stay than this. The restaurants were so good, especially the breakfast, and we had everything we needed.

Mare was a great host! She gave us great instructions for getting in the place easily even though we arrived very late at night. When we got in the air was turned on so the place was a comfortable temperature and there were muffins on the kitchen table and yogurt and juice waiting in the fridge. Those were very nice touches. The photos in her listing match reality and the fact that there is parking spot worked out perfect for us. The water pressure in the shower is pretty strong which is impressive for an older building- this is one of those things I wish people would always comment on in reviews. It is also an extremely short walk (1 block) to one of the main streets in Providence (Wickenden Street) where you can find some great little restaurants and shops. Highly recommended Airbnb!

It was our first time to visit Providence and Mare was a very considerate host prior to and during our stay at her place. Her apartment was kept very clean and felt so welcoming every time we came home. She was there to greet us upon our arrival and was so kind to see us off to say goodbye as early as 5:30am when we had to leave to catch our flight. She was also very attentive during our stay when we happened to park our car on the street right outside her house and made sure we wouldn't get ticketed for overnight street parking! Pamela was an absolutely FANTASTIC hostess. We got to the teepee later than initially planned, and she was accomodating and flexible with the sudden time change. Obviously, the teepee was amazing-- clean, comfortable and very cozy. In the morning, Pamela and her daughter told us about the history of their house, the teepee and the grounds. They also provided us with fresh fruit, introduced us to their chickens and offered us breakfast. We will certainly be going back!

My son, our dog Lucy, and I spent the most wonderful two nights under the full moon in Pamela's teepee. Pamela, her daughter and Mac were incredibly warm and welcoming throughout our entire visit! They made us feel at home in their idyllic setting. The teepee was a perfect retreat. Warm and cozy, as beautiful as the photographs, and equipped for both warm or cold weather we slept deeper and more restfully than at home. The last night we stayed there was a wonderful thunder storm. The rain pattering on the canvas, punctuated by occasional flashes of lightening was both exciting and calming. Awaking to a symphony of birdsong the next morning felt like waking up in a very chic sanctuary. So much of the stress from my pre-vacation life had been washed away. I am immensely grateful to Pamela and her family for their warm welcome and hospitality. It was just what my family and I needed. We cannot wait for the opportunity to stay with them again. Thank you!!!

Pamela and Naia were amazing hosts. It was an amazing experience, somehow close to camping but much more interesting. I can imagine how one can live year around in a tepee. I learned a lot about everything and made me think a lot. It was exactly what I needed. One does have to be prepared as it is mostly camping, so you need equipment that is adapted to the weather ( rain, cold, heat...). It is much more then the average AirBnB experience and Pamela's growing farm is a must visit in itself. I very strongly recommend.

It was exactly the remote retreat my boyfriend and I were dreaming of! The tee pee stayed warm all night as long as we kept feeding it. It was clean and spacious for the two of us. It sits over lower fields with a serene view. Pam and her farm were welcoming. We only wish we had stayed longer!

Pamela was a wonderful host -- a perfect combination of welcoming and helpful and respectful of my desire to make my stay a bit of a retreat, given the wonderfully private beautiful clearing that the teepee is in at the bottom of a hill in her backyard - about 75 yards from her house itself. She made the teepee so welcoming with a fire ready to light in the fire pit outside the teepee and 2 comfortable chairs nearby, and beautiful bouquets beside the bed inside. The location is just minutes from downtown, yet I felt like I was camping in the back country. Her home was made accessible to me at all hours. The bathroom was clean, the house charming, and breakfasts ample. I highly recommend the glamping teepee if you want a nice getaway surrounded by nature with a nice comfortable bed.
