“My wife and I stayed here during our transition move between homes. So many great things to comment on. First and greatest is the hospitality and kindness from Julie. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable and help us. Awesome, private and very quiet location with wildlife right outside. Being able to stay with our pets as we traveled was huge and the house is extremely pet friendly. Very nice, clean and homey inside. Felt like we stayed at a family members home. If we didn’t live right down the road now, we would stay again. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family that visit and may want their own space. Thank you again so much Julie! Best Airbnb we’ve stayed in!”
Don’t let COVID-19 keep you from enjoying the outdoors. This is a rustic stop-over hostel. There are 3 upper lofts in the barn. Open-air, fresh sleeping arrangements with double bed. Hot shower. Nice stop for road travelers or weekend city refugees. Sorry no heating or AC. There is hiking on the 29+ acres, a fishing pond, and nearby attractions. The Distillery offers free tastings and on-site sales of whiskey, gin, and other liquors.
“Stephens place was amazing ! It is a must stay for adventurers that love the outdoors ! Upon arrival we were greeted with a tasting of all of Stephan’s craft alcohol which were all delicious! The space is beautiful and we were able to explore the property and enjoy the stunning view from the barn. Stephen made our stay amazing and we enjoyed great conversation amongst the sounds the nature surrounding us . There is a grill and a fire pit to use as well ! We woke up to the fresh mountain air and tea and coffee .Showers and toilet are simple but great with hot water , if you can ,check out the outdoor shower ! Such a unique experience and a gem of a place , definitely recommend for a city escape or just to relax !”
We strive to make this self-serve guest house a comfortable place to spend a week or a weekend with family or friends. Simply but adequately furnished rooms with attention to cleanliness, home-baked goodies, and downtown location make it unique.
“The guest house on Gravel Lane was a perfect spot to stay when visiting Romney and the surrounding areas. We arrived at the adorable home with no doubt we were in the right spot, as we were greeted with a slate “welcome” sign on the porch. The home is very cute and comfortable, and very clean. Our hostess left a nice welcome note, along with a bottle of wine, some cheese, a fresh baked loaf of bread, and a delicious pan of coffee cake. The refrigerator was also stocked with some fresh fruit along with bacon, eggs, milk, and juice among other things. The kitchen has all the pots, pans and dishes if you plan to be eating in. There was no TV, but this is clearly stated in the listing. The WIFI was spotty but worked fairly well in the dining room. We did not have the opportunity to meet with the hosts, but communication via phone and texts was very easy. We were very pleased with our stay and would not hesitate to stay here the next time we are in the area.”
