Family-friendly holiday rentals in Roanoke County

We loved staying at this location. The scenery was amazing and the home was beautiful. It had ample room and everything was so comfy. We had a busy graduation schedule but hope to come back at another time where we can really take in the lovely mountain air and the lake! Thanks Alicia for being a great host and sharing this amazing home with us!

The apartment was nice and clean, close the river. We didn’t know there wasn’t a TV. We should have noticed it I guess. It wasn’t a problem for us. It was a new ce place to stay, and dog friendly.

Ms. Michelle hosted my team as we were in town for a tournament and we thoroughly enjoyed the large space with the nice bedrooms, spacious living rooms, and the hot tub. We had access to everything we needed, with Ms. Michelle even getting some extra towels for us. A great stay!

We stayed at The Frances home July 6th thru July 13th, 2024. The house is so much nicer in person, the pictures just don't it justice. The beds were fine, the kitchen is well stocked and the place was very clean. Tons of room on the lower level to spread out and enjoy the pool table and ping pong. The lot is sloped but not too steep and they have a very nice, concrete walkway. The owners allow use of their kayaks, canoe and tiki hut on the dock. The hot tub on the lower deck was a great way to relax and enjoy the lake view. The house is in a no wake cove and just across the water from Jake's Place. Super close to the SML bridge and Bridgewater marina. Jake's has a restaurant, camper park and beach area with a slide. They do provide internet although we struggled many times with the connections, just power cycled their router and it was back up and running. T-mobile is the provider, I believe. The one major negative is no trash service, not even trash cans. Gotta fix that...

I had the most wonderful stay at Bliss Cabin, to say the least. From the initial photos of the writing desk and yoga deck, to the curious graveled path winding around the property lined with life and decorative details, I was totally immersed in the love and care that was so palpably present! Kathryn & Luke were absolutely lovely, so helpful, and incredibly accommodating! My recommendations while on the property: build and tend to a fire. Journal at the writing desk while playing Miles Davis. Take an early cold plunge in the river, do a round of Wim Hof breathing, then run up to take a hot shower at their beautiful abode. Chat with Luke, have tea with Kathryn. Do yoga on the deck. Say hello to the frogs. Express your inner musician with their drums and sound bowls. Let your soul free here!

Nancy’s place met all expectations. Great amenities. Comfort and space excellent. Perfect place to work, play and relax. Great view. Loved hanging on the decks and dock. Everything was easy and comfortable. Highly recommend. We loved our stay.

We had such a peaceful and enjoyable stay at the Rock Ridge Ranch. The host was amazingly accomadating and the cabin was a slice of Heaven. The space was cozy and close to restaurants and grocery stores. Look forward to returning in the future.

Great stay! All bedrooms are super comfy and well sized, the dock is so fun and well set up for hanging out. We loved all the games inside the house and the kayaks. Nice big kitchen and great outdoor dining options. Perfect for a weekend trip with our group of adults and children.

Clean and cozy! Owner works in law enforcement. Nice to find a pet-friendly place to stay. Check-in was a breeze, friendly and helpful :).

Anthony's place was very clean and welcoming. felt secluded even though was close to everything. was well pleased with our stay. only drawback was we weren't able to control the temperature and the house was 76 degrees too hot for June. Anthony did turn it down some but was still too hot for us . plenty of wildlife if that's your thing, the deer come close enough to almost pet them . I will definitely stay here again it's perfect for just 2 people

This was the perfect location for moving a VT student in or out of their housing on campus. The home has a large garage to keep a packed car, and the home itself is very clean and comfortable. There are a bunch of stairs however to get into the home and up to the second bedroom so that might be something to consider if you have difficulty with stairs or are bringing in heavy luggage. We would definitely stay here again.

We were in town for my sons college graduation. The house was amazing and the surroundings were gorgeous. Angela was so receptive and made sure we felt at home. Thank you for a perfect experience. We will definitely stay here again.

Love this yurt! This is our third stay at the yurt. It has always been clean, with many amenities. The yurt itself is amazing inside, plenty of places to sit, a nice sized kitchen, full bath and although there is a bedroom downstairs, we prefer to sleep in the loft up top. It rained this last stay and we could listen to the rain and look through the skylight. We had a wonderful stay. We'll be back for sure!!

We were visiting Roanoke for a graduation. Perfect place to visit with family and rest at the end of the day. Had everything we needed to share a meal and enjoy each other’s company. Really pretty views of the mountains. Well suited our needs.

Great location at Bernard’s Landing - right next to the club house with the pool and other amenities. Very large space that could easily accommodate 4 couples. Would definitely stay here again!

This Airbnb is in an absolutely stunning location. We stayed here for my daughter‘s graduation from Virginia Tech and it’s a 30 minute drive from campus. It is down some windy mountain roads, but the views are spectacular. The apartment is exactly as described; everything was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment.The host was super responsive and if we are ever back in the area, we would definitely stay here again.

The view from the condo was stunning and beautiful, just like John’s photos online. The detailed directions and descriptions were very accurate. John welcomed us during check-in and thanked us when we left. It would be nice to have screens on the sliding glass door. Definitely would consider staying there in the future!

Seven of us enjoyed a wonderful joint 75th birthday celebration at this beautiful lake home. The mountain and lake views from the spacious back deck were breathtaking. It was exactly as described with prompt and thoughtful communications. Comfortable beds and amenities to meet every need. Can’t wait to return to enjoy outdoor activities with extended family.

It was super cute and close to plenty of things to do. Also a nice little view of the water, which we loved!

We had a wonderful long weekend here, enjoying all the beauty of Smith Mountain Lake. We rented a boat, played mini-golf, walked along the lake, and ate great food. This condo is the perfect location to relax and play.
