Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Roanoke County

After driving up a completely private and secluded road , we pulled upon a private, hilltop home with a stunning view of the Virginia mountains . The outside sitting area with supplied chairs, bbq and fire pit was a bonus . The inside of the home was renovated , cozy and very clean . The kitchen was fully stocked, making cooking easy . Bryan was very responsive and friendly . We will definitely tent again if we find ourselves in Virginia again . Thank you Bryan !

We were amazed the pictures looked GREAT, but being there was the Best!! Easy assessable, 1 story, the massive king size bed was awesome! Location is perfect, It was PERFECT for our two small fur babies that absolutely loved the patio fenced in area!!! Also, seeing the doe eating in the backyard behind the fence area was a delight for us! The Diner in walking distance was fabulous, clean, friendly local staff and the owner was so friendly! Breakfast and lunch was spot on! We have been and used airBNB many years now truly THIS IS ONE OF THE Best Places!!!!! Thanks for sharing this BLESSING with US!

Great place to stay had a lot of communication that was very nice. The park at the front was really nice we didn’t have enough time but really wanted to go to the skate park. The house was very cozy we would stay again.

Fantastic place with great history. I can tell Jim is a great steward of the grounds. this is a place that really needs to be experienced 2-4 weeks at a time. My little girl was scared when we pet the horses but the picnic at the top of the meadow made up for it! I encourage all to really explore the grounds. word of advice for those city folks out there, come in from the west side through bent mountain. The east side entrance from can be treacherous. thank me later and unwind!

We were visiting Roanoke for a graduation. Perfect place to visit with family and rest at the end of the day. Had everything we needed to share a meal and enjoy each other’s company. Really pretty views of the mountains. Well suited our needs.

Fotheringay is, in a word, perfection! The house, the immaculate grounds, the comfort of the bed, the fluffiness of the towels, the perfectly stocked kitchen, the views. this is our fifth year straight coming for a writing retreat and we love the place more and more every year. George, the caretaker who loves on site, is a dream: so kind, helpful, warmest and considerate. Thank you Dabney for letting us enjoy the wonders of this place!

Great place, very large, very eclectic and so many outdoor options. Just a few min from trails and restaurants. Hosts were amazing and very communicative.

This house was great for 4 couples….we each had a nice bedroom and 3 bathrooms. The back porch was nice and large and private. The kitchen had lots of cookware and dishes. We canoed the upper James river and this was very convenient to the livery service. The home is large and welcoming.

Birgit was wonderful throughout our entire stay! She welcomed us and recommended some really great restaurants nearby. Very peaceful neighborhood while still being within a short drive of downtown. Would absolutely stay again, thanks so much Birgit :)

awesome area. was skeptical at first because as some people know downtown next to wasena is a bit sketchy, but overall was amazing and comfort level was awesome! pets are allowed which again, is another plus. thanks neil!

The apartment was colocated with a very cool brewery, but it wasn’t loud. Everyone was very friendly. Location was very close to downtown. I also really appreciated the compilation of suggested things to do in the area, hiking trails, where to eat, etc. The space was just fine- reminded me of staying in a hotel but with much more. I would definitely stay there again. Great value.

The location was great, I mean the Airbnb was connected to A Few Old Goats brewery! We were in town for a family graduation party, perfect location that was clean and easily accessible.

Always responsive and helpful host. Have multiple friends staying on his properties and always say good things about him. Usually exclusively look for Neil’s properties when I’m in Roanoke. Looking forward to my next.

Great location, easy parking in the lot, wonderfully stocked kitchen, and very easy communication with Neil. Would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be staying here again when visiting the area.

My son and I had the best time staying at the black water junction cabin. We fell in love with the view, the animals, and the atmosphere. The cabin was spotless and fully stocked with anything we could have needed. The binder telling all of the history and little unique additions was so interesting! The bed was comfy, the towels were heated, and there were fresh eggs in the fridge. The hosts are so friendly and so quick to answer any questions I had. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We will definitely be back!

The cabin was beautiful! Wish we were there for more than the one night. We will come back for a longer trip! The trout pond was a lot of fun for my 12 y/o as well. He caught several large rainbows!

We loved this private little cabin nestled in the woods. No asphalt or houses or lights in sight, just the occasional vehicle traveling by unseen on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

My fiance and I were able to book the cabin for a last minute weekend getaway. The house was very clean, cute and perfect for what we needed. Our dog enjoyed the big fenced in yard, and we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. We had everything we needed to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner (bring your own seasonings though), and got restful sleep! We were beyond grateful to enjoy this home for the weekend! The biggest complaints on the reviews are the wifi and the driveway... we didn't have any issues with either personally.. but if you're afraid to get your car dirty or need to work the whole trip, maybe pick something closer to town.. otherwise its perfect to unplug and unwind!

Absolutely a great place for a quiet, peaceful getaway. Rented a boat and docked it right at the cabin, the cabin had everything we needed, and the lake is beautiful to be on!

This place is truly a rare find. The house is immaculately kept and is situated on a waterfall and nestled in the woods. It was perfect. Rhonda thought of everything and was so thoughtful and kind. We will be back!!

This cabin is amazing. As soon as we walked in we were in love, and I said multiple times over the few days we were here that I wished I could live here. It is beautifully decorated with a nice mix of retro and modern. Kaitlin was amazing before our stay and gave us lots of ideas on things to do, which we did a lot of! She answered questions we had during our stay as well. She really did think of everything and put a lot of thought into creating this space and making sure it had everything we needed while we were there. 100% recommend Kaitlin and her cabin to anyone. We will definitely be back!!
