Holiday rentals with a kayak in Potomac River

Very roomy for a family vacation. Great location and covered porch was great for taking in views of river and enjoying summer breeze. Host was responsive and provided detailed instructions.

We visited Southern Maryland for a family wedding. The property is beautiful and peaceful. Beds are comfy, house comfy, and they thought of the little things like : a full sized ironing board & Iron, beach towels, good soaps, and all you need for s’mores!Their welcome handbook was very detailed. Our only regret was that we could not spend more time on the property itself (because of family events). Would have loved to use the kayaks and the fire pit. My brother did use hot tub. Great stay! Highly recommend

We loved our short stay at Mason’s place!! We needed a peaceful getaway to just relax and it’s exactly what we needed. The hot tub was amazing, and we hiked all around the property and campgrounds! Had so much fun connecting with nature and relaxing. Also loved how many amenities, spices, oils, pots and pans, etc in the kitchen!!

Fantastic property, fantastic hosts. A+. So many amenities, nothing was overlooked. Very clean and orderly. Loved the layout. Screened in porch was perfect, patio, hot tub, use of kayaks, freshly baked bread, entire interior was awesome. I’m telling you, nothing was overlooked in making our stay so memorable. Thinking about booking? Do it now. You won’t regret it. This can’t be beat.

Great riverfront cabin! Waterfront was absolutely what I was looking for, with a good hot tub view. Great host and the house has all the amenities you need. Close to town and easy road access. Only down side was not having full privacy due to the house next door being occupied. Other than that it was amazing! 10/10 spot!

This is a beautiful home in a serene setting. Although there was plenty of boat traffic it was I. The distance and not noisy at all. The home is furnished simply but there are many more amenities than most airbnbs including children’s equipment and toys! The host readily honored a special request! The pictures are not clear about the water access. It is not a beach, but a stairway. We still spent much time at the water’s edge, and sitting in those great Adirondack chairs!!

Scott and Melinda's place was perfect for a peaceful getaway for our family of 5. The water was so nice to wake up to and fall asleep hearing the water move by! The thought of all the basic needs and had everything easily accessible from fresh eggs from their chickens, a great variety of coffee pods and creamer, and all the other small needs that come up while staying in an airbnb. This was great since it is off the beaten path. If you are looking for some peaceful family time or a secluded retreat with friends, this is a perfect place!

Lovely stay on the water! Mini beach is an added bonus. Great restaurants nearby!

Cottage is very cute and the perfect size for a couple. Beautiful view and has all the necessary amenities. Jim was very responsive and communicative!

We had a great time. The cottage is lovely, very well decorated, comfortable, it felt like home. We enjoyed the deck and the bonfire by the water. We would have loved to use the kayak and canoe but the weather was not amenable to it unfortunately. Julie was proactive and shared detailed instructions and local recommendations. She was responsive when I asked questions ahead of our arrival. I would totally recommend for a couple or family and would definitely come back.

Keith’s water view cottage is so beautiful and peaceful. My husband and I had a lovely long weekend stay with our little dog. Even with the storms that passed through the bay we felt extremely safe and cozy throughout our stay. Keith was very responsive and flexible with checkin /checkout. Would definitely stay again!! To celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, my bride and I stayed at Pretty Byrd cottage for a long weekend - we were just looking to relax and soak in the peace and quiet. We got exactly what we were hoping for - the cottage is very private on its own little island and our only neighbors were all the wonderful birds! The inside of the cottage was wonderfully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. We didn't want to leave and the whole trip home we talked about when's the next time we should come back.

River House – 5 Stars My husband and I stayed in the River House for 4 days. We totally enjoyed ourselves there. It was exactly what we were looking for, peace and quiet while gazing upon nature at its best. The house is very clean, neat and crisp with a touch of warmth everywhere. It has everything you could want for your stay, making it home-sweet-home. The house is nestled between trees and situated right on the bank of the Shenandoah’s running river. Enjoy the lush green forest across the river while drinking your morning coffee in the sunroom. You’ll see that this serene setting brings a daily refuge of birds nesting and hummingbirds feeding to the top deck. The sunroom is so cozy and inviting. It seems as if the house is on stilts sitting over the running river. The River House has two large decks, a patio and boats for your family’s enjoyment. Words cannot describe the feeling of pure calm that comes over you when you arrive. This place is truly a treasure hidden in the woods. Once you cross the creek you leave the world and all your cares behind. The host pays attention to all the little details and it shows. We have stayed at quite a few places but this one is on our return list. We look forward to sliding up for a long weekend in the late fall or early winter. (Tip- be sure to spend 15 min reading the welcome package it is time well spent).

We had a really nice time at the cabin. Everything was laid out very nicely and was ready for us the moment we arrived. The space is beautiful and right on the lake. It was extremely peaceful to sit in the large screened deck and hang out with the stunning lake in view. Hope to stay here again some day!

Stepping Stone was the perfect spot for a quiet getaway! The cabin was very clean and instructions to get in were easy. The kitchen was stocked with all the essentials for cooking, and the beds were comfy! The best part is waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee by the river and ending the evening with a fire. The hot tub was clean and felt great after our hike. I would definitely come back and/recommend Angela’s place to friends and family!

I believe this is one of the best places to stay in the area! We ended up extending our stay by another week. The neighborhood is safe and peaceful, and the neighbors are welcoming. The cabin itself is very very clean, beds, towels, and every corner felt spotless. The surrounding nature is beautiful and calming, and spotting deer nearby added such a cheerful touch for us as nature lovers! Have to say the cabin is more lovely than photos! We work remotely, so we were initially concerned about the internet, but it was completely reliable throughout our stay. The cabin feels like a private, cozy retreat, super comfortable and beautifully designed. There was even a storm during our stay, and while there was a short power outage, the roads were cleared quickly and power was restored in no time! Mark’s a fantastic host, very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. His clear instructions made everything easy. We’d absolutely come back if we’re back in the area!

Beautiful place me and my boyfriend came here for his birthday we had the best time! Brandi had the space nice and clean when we got there. She is has excellent response time and is very friendly. The cabin itself was amazing the view was incredible! being able to go out and kayak was amazing. The perfect get away for you and your partner! we will definitely be back!

Great adorable cabin close enough to Luray / Shenandoah to get around easily, but about 7 minutes outside of town, so far enough to feel peaceful and quiet! Very cute decorations and plenty of space for the two of us. Fresh eggs were delicious and they also provided wood/kindling for the outdoor firepit at a nominal cost. Hosts were quite responsive. It's at the end of a gravel road with 2 other cabins close by. A bit of a stale woodsmoke smell in the cabin which is unsurprising given the fireplace, but may bother people with environmental allergies.
