We had a very good experience, and enjoyed our stay. The house is as described and the photos are very accurate. It is a peaceful surrounding, and we heard and saw a lot of howler monkeys while relaxing on the patio and swimming. We traveled with our young daughter and would just note for families with younger children that the bedroom suite is upstairs, with the entrance and 2nd bedroom on the ground level. the drive is steep but doable. overall highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the House of G. Favourite things about this place were the views of the ocean, the mix of fruit trees, hearing howler monkeys, bird watching (and listening), and the modern architecture. Air conditioning was only on the upper floor bedrooms, so the upper bathrm was hot and the lower level got pretty hot too. The ceiling fans helped and so did the breeze. On the plus side, it forced us to use the outdoor living space more than we probably would have if the lower level had a/c and the pool/outdoor shower offered a quick refresher when needed. The place required a key transfer from super friendly Luis. It would have been easier and more private if there was a lock box setup, but then we wouldn’t have met Luis, so key swapped worked out just fine. We found it easier to make the quick drive to Samara than walk, to avoid walking on the narrow main road. It was easy to find on street parking in Samara. We booked this casita last minute at the end of our trip and it was so much more than we were expecting. The space is beautiful, clean, spacious. We didn't get to use the pool because of rain, but the pool area and view were stunning! We spent a lot of time bird(and monkey) watching and taking in the view in the mornings. Hiking trails around were really nice too! Krista and Guido were soo helpful, generous, and kind! We wished we had more time at Sal Vida to enjoy the area more and if in the area again - will definitely be booking here again!

We had a great time in Samara! The book of local recommendations was such a nice touch - we loved visiting several of the beaches, restaurants, and stores. It was also lovely having the pool at the house to help with the hot temperatures!

Our family of 6 (kids ages 18, 15, 13 and 9) spent 6 amazing days at Villa Las Brisas. The house has a great layout - 3 bedrooms down with the master up. It was clean upon arrival and definitely has a WOW factor when you take that first view out over the pool. So beautiful! The house was well stocked with everything we needed - toilet paper, paper towels, extra sheets and towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, shampoo & body wash. We spent most of our time outside on the deck and in the pool. There's even an outdoor shower and a poolside bathroom. AC in all bedrooms and main living area worked great. It helped to keep bedroom doors closed to maximize AC. The walk down to the beach was 12 minutes - and then we walked along the beach into the main part of town which was another 10-15 minutes. Our favorite restaurants were Coco's (nachos were so good!) and Bahia Hotel Bar and Restaurant. We also ended up at the Supermercado Rindemás for groceries. Ridley was the best host!

We had the most incredible time at this gorgeous spot. Daniella was wonderful to deal with, so easy to get a hold of, attentive and great to chat with. Always had excellent suggestions and recommendations, she made our stay feel so easy and she was so accommodating. The house is very well thought out, spacious beyond what the photos show and the most amazing backyard filled with howler monkeys throughout the trees that greet you in the mornings and afternoons. Had absolutely everything you could think of needing for a relaxing adults trip. A 5 minute drive to the beach town of Samara, which was wonderful to adventure around, so many great beach bars and open market style restaurants with fantastic food! Heritage Bar was a favourite with some of the best burgers and Indian food I’ve ever had! Only 10 minutes to playa carillo. I wish we had booked this spot for longer!

Barbara and John were literally the kindest people in Costa Rica you could stay with. Our toddler, the biggest food critic of them all loved every food recommendation we received. He danced to the music in restaurants and was welcomed with love by locals. The home is so private, relaxing, beautifully decorated, everyone in our family felt at home here. We cooked in the kitchen and found it fully equipped and easy to cook for a group. We loved watching monkeys swaying on neighboring trees and birds singing each morning near the large deck. We slept so peacefully in their comfortable large beds every night and the space was quite large so our kiddo got to get his wiggles out. Their pool was the perfect temperature everyday and large enough you could do laps. John provided such a throughout and very legit surf lesson. Overall we LOVED this home and it was well worth the journey into this cool little surf town. - Christina

We loved this beautiful and spacious home, perfect for our group of 6! The pool & covered outdoor lounge area were favorites, and the huge comfortable beds with well-stocked bathrooms (including unique open-ceiling showers) made for a wonderful stay. The private gated entrance also provided great security. A few practical notes: the final stretch to the house is very steep and unpaved, so I'd recommend having a 4WD vehicle with high clearance. We experienced some water outages due to storm damage—our first night into the next afternoon & a few hours another day. Unfortunately, our last night was cut short by a flash flood requiring us to evacuate. However, the hosts' friends responded incredibly quickly, helping us leave the house safely and covering our meal and hotel costs that night. Despite challenging weather circumstances, the hosts' response was exemplary and we're grateful for their support. The house is stunning and we'd consider staying again, likely outside rainy season!

This place is awesome. Right on the beach. Make breakfast while seeing and hearing the ocean. Kitchen stocked to cook at home if you want. Air conditions keeps it perfectly cool. 10 minute walk to town. On site at the property was Maggie who could not have been more helpful and informative. She gave us the best info for eating and surfing. A very special person. We will definitely be back.

This place is AMAZING! We came here on our honeymoon and were blown away by the beautiful surroundings and the attentiveness of the hosts. The breakfast provided was so nice, and felt like a feast! Even more enjoyable sitting and eating the meal in their outdoor common area, you truly feel like you’re just sitting on a mountain. It was lovely getting to know the hosts. They provided us with fun recommendations on things to do. We drove down off the mountain one of the days and took surf lessons in Samara! One evening we drove about 15 minutes down the road to eat dinner at Restaurante Teosinte (highly recommend checking that out while you’re in the area). Be sure to pay attention to their specific instructions on how to get there, those were very helpful. Especially having a 4x4 is very necessary. The hosts have created a fantastic stay in the mountains of Costa Rica and I’m so grateful they did and offer it available to be enjoyed by others! 10,000x recommend this place!

Such a great home and location for our young family’s week in CR! We spent a ton of time enjoying the pool and beach. We frequented downtown Samara once or twice a day - so many shops, restaurants, friendly people. Maria checked in several times but all was smooth at the house. Highly recommend

Perfect hidden gem right next to awesome beach

Great location, cozy and modern home, we would definitely go back to the place , as the only recommendation to improve the lock of the entrance gate!

The house has great location… safe and secure… two nice rooms and two separate bedrooms… nice deck and area in front house!!!

Our family of four loved our stay at Casa de Suenos! The house was clean, comfortable, bright, and a short walk to the beach. We saw many animals during our stay, including monkeys and a coati. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We’d definitely stay there again, and we hope that we can be so lucky!

Great stay, location is great, peaceful and beautiful right on the ocean. The place is a great rental, everything you need without any of the extra clutter. Super clean and efficient. Highly recommend.

We stayed for one week. We loved how peaceful it was and the pool was much needed. The monkeys are the highlight - they come and go without any bother. Could watch them all day.

Absolutely perfect for our girls’ trip! Villa Koa was everything we hoped for and more. The house is spacious, beautifully laid out, and the beds were super comfy. The backyard and views were absolutely stunning—perfect for relaxing and catching up. Just a heads-up: the villa is nestled in the mountains/jungle, so bugs are part of the experience—but nothing unexpected for the setting and totally manageable. You’ll definitely need a 4x4 with high clearance (we had a Suzuki Jimny and it handled the road great). The house is not walkable to town or restaurants, so having a car is a must. Special shoutout to Sophie, the concierge—she was amazing! She gave us fantastic local recommendations and helped plan some great outings. We had a brief issue with the hot water, but concierge responded immediately and maintenance got it sorted right away. Already planning our return next year—can’t wait!

An exceptional experience! A stunning villa with outstanding architectural design – every detail has been carefully thought out. The combination of total peace, ocean views, and lush jungle surroundings creates a private paradise. The villa is fully equipped, spacious, and beautifully designed – from the kitchen to the outdoor lounge areas, everything is perfect. The service was incredible – warm, responsive, and professional. This place is stunning! It's up in the hills and super quiet. This modern home was beautiful and immaculate and had everything we needed. All the glass windows remind you that you are in the jungle and to slow down, what an amazing space. Claudia the property manager is fantastic and responsive. My family of 5 had an amazing time here! Our three boys (16, 13, and 8) loved the house, the pool, and the great vibe here. The house and surroundings are even better than the pictures, which is saying something since the pictures made it look like paradise. Monica was extremely responsive—more so than any host I’ve ever dealt with previously. They have everything you could possibly need for your stay. The area is gorgeous and Playa Grande is a cute town with great restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Really great place, supportive and welcoming owner/staff, super convenient location. Great yoga and work out classes on property. Security guy was super nice and always helped with the gate. 10/10
