Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Penobscot River

Great location. Woke up to the sounds of birds. very responsive. I would have given it a 5 star all the way, David was amazing and responded in a very timely manner. But, the turn over service could have been much better. The previous guest left a wine bottle in the automatic fridge ice dispenser and it was unfounded until my family found a large peice of glass in their drink, serious hazard to drink glass. Should have been spotted by the turn over service but, who would check the ice maker for a bottle a wine? I understand that. Very uncommon and unfortunate for us. David responded in a very fast manner and gave us options to accommodate the situation. I would have left a 5 star if this was the only thing but everything was so unorganized in the kitchen, they had everything but nothing made sense to why it was there. Sink didn't drain. There were also stains on the sheets and a pizza box left by the fridge that wasn't ours. Little things but the turn over service was a let down.

Very pleasant place to stay and the owners were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Very responsive. Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Highly recommend.

Great stay for our family of 5 adults and 3 toddlers! Lots to do and great proximity to Acadia/Bar Harbor. House was well supplied with clear instructions. Brady also connected with us before the stay and kept in touch for anything that came up as a concern. Thank you!

The house was great, very clean and comfortable beds. We were going to the UMaine graduation at Cross arena and were able to walk, which was awesome! Well appointed kitchen, since it was also mother's day we couldn't find reservations to celebrate the graduate, but we were able to get take out and cook in which made it really easy. Easy to get to and close to downtown Bangor. I would recommend and will want to book here again when I need a larger house. thank you.

This cozy little house was just as expected! My little dog really appreciated the quiet, fence back yard! We would stay here again if ever in the area.

Kings cottage was the perfect place to unplug and recharge! It was so peaceful and quiet!! The sunsets were unreal and the wild life was awesome to see!! Befriended a few loons and bald eagles!!! 10/10 would recommend!!! I would absolutely revisit!!!! Ryan and his family were attentive hosts, very polite and thoughtful!!! Made this vacation such a breeze!! Cannot thank them enough!!! -this place is a hidden gem!!!-

This house/cabin was incredible! The pictures don't do it justice!! The view of the lake is gorgeous from the house and you can see it from all the common living areas. It is all wood inside so it feels like you are in a large cabin! Everything was super clean and felt very new. There was plenty of room to spread out but also very warm and cozy at the same time. It was very peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing. The wi-fi worked well and there were good instructions left to connect to it. The kitchen was great and the bathroom was huge. It was nice to be able to do laundry while staying there, and everything felt very fresh and clean. Karen was a very responsive host, which was much appreciated! Everything was set up for convenience if you needed to find something. It was convenient to go to Hannaford's in Lincoln on the way there, too. We are definitely looking forward to coming back during the summer time when we can use the lake! This is a beautiful place to stay.

What a wonderful experience! Rebecca was an absolutely outstanding host, always quick to respond and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. My family and I had such a peaceful stay. The home and location were incredibly tranquil, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The house and property were absolutely beautiful, and we loved sipping our morning coffee on the amazing balconies with the breathtaking views. There is so much space, and every room in the house is well thought out, functional, and cozy. The pool is even better than we hoped, so big and clean and in immaculate condition. We spent most of our time swimming and relaxing by the pool. We also enjoyed playing pool and having so many rooms to gather in with the comfort of plenty of new comfy furniture. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind for a vacation away from all the noise and chaos of daily life. Every single area was as described in the listing and better. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Adorable cottage, newly renovated. Perfect for two with an open space loft for one more. Kitchen is well stocked right down to the coffee. A good location if visiting Fort Knox, Mt. Barrie and not too far from Bar Harbor if that is on your list. Great stay, highly recommend. Beautiful view and private.

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

The location was perfect - you didn’t need your car to get around. We were right at the main square or park with lots of interesting shops and restaurants close by. We were 10 minutes from Acadia National Park. Highly recommend spending the extra $6 to drive up Cadillac Mountain. The unit was well appointed, clean, and had games for the kids to play. I did’t care for the shower but I am not used to a claw-foot tub shower. Overall really enjoyed our stay!

This stay was absolutely beautiful!!! It looked EXACTLY like the photos, maybe even better! It’s right on the water with a gorgeous view. If you like swimming in your own front yard and sitting up in bed to stunning landscape, this is the stay for you. We spent our time relaxing in one of the most comfortable beds Ive had at any hotel/airbnb, swimming in the water right off the dock, and watching wildlife right from the porch. The area is a large property with multiple stays, and while we passed our neighbors a few times we still had tons of privacy. This would be the perfect location for large groups wanting to rent the entire property/multiple stays on the property. We will hopefully be back in the future with the whole family!

A little slice of heaven! The Nest was everything we hoped for and more. The sunsets over the crystal-clear lake were stunning, but what really struck us was how long the colors linger in the sky up here, creating the most peaceful and relaxing mood to close out each day. The cabin itself was cozy, thoughtfully designed, and the perfect size for our getaway. We left feeling refreshed and grateful, already looking forward to a return visit.

Can’t say enough about Craig’s beautiful lakeside cottage. If you like remote, peaceful and being close to nature this is for you. The house and contents seemed brand new and they had thought of everything we could want, right down to pancake mix, maple syrup and Maine blueberries for our breakfasts. An easy drive to Acadia. Craig was communicative, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and hope we’ll be back.

We were in town for a graduation so that’s all we really did but Reed’s place was perfect for us. Very clean and all in good condition, easy to find, parking, responsive and friendly host. Having the convenience store below was only a bonus, no downside. Little deck on back to enjoy the river was also a bonus. Would definitely stay there again! Thank you Reed!

Timothy’s place was an absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to stay! My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment, it was spotless, incredibly comfortable, and had such a welcoming feel. The attention to detail was clear in every room, from the cozy furnishings to the thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The space was quiet, stylish, and well-equipped, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. If this were available for rent long-term, we’d move in without hesitation! Timothy was also a fantastic host, responsive, kind, and made everything super easy from start to finish. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm and comfortable retreat. Can’t wait to come back someday!

This is such a special place! The cabin is beautifully designed and the views are wonderful! David left perfect instructions as to how to live “off grid” and is quick with responses if needed. So much to explore durning any season- from mountains to coast! Hope to return- maybe during blueberry season!!

I had a lovely visit with a good friend. The air bnb stood out to us because of how beautiful the photos were and they didn’t do the place justice. It was so nice to stay in a place that felt like it was cut from a magazine. The home is in a private space but not far from restaurants and other towns with cute shops. We were close to lots of hiking trails and coastlines. I am quite sure I’ll be back!

Great location right on the lake. Close to hiking spots. Wished there was a closet or larger dresser to unpack our cloths. We did stay for eight nights, so we had more than normal. I asked Zack about camp fires and wood for this, he went out of his way to get us a couple bags of wood to burn within the fire pit. This was an awesome touch!!!!
