Our family hadn’t all been together in over 8 years—the last time was for our father’s funeral. This trip was the first time we reunited simply to enjoy each other’s company, and The Kraken was the perfect place for it. The home was beautiful, clean, and so thoughtfully designed. Every room suited someone in our family, and my husband and I especially loved the cedarwood bedroom on the first floor—it smelled amazing and felt like a true retreat. The deck and backyard were our favorite hangouts, and the easy water access made for nonstop fun. The hosts provided everything we needed—including water toys for both adults and kids, which our grandbaby especially enjoyed. The golf cart was a great bonus, and the location made exploring easy. Melissa and Shawn were incredible hosts—friendly, responsive, and so helpful from start to finish. They truly deserve their 5-star rating. This home gave us the chance to reconnect, laugh, and create joyful new memories. We’ll never forget it. Than you !

I would highly recommend booking this house! Chad was very responsive and open to any questions or concerns I had. He went out of his way to help us book his house and was very friendly. If you’re looking for a house with s great view I highly recommend this house as it overlooked the marsh with a beautiful sunset. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely visit again!!

Amazing home in Surf City, very peaceful neighborhood and 2 great large porches. Plenty of amenities and fully stocked kitchen. Sage puts a lot of heart and work into this place and you feel at home the minute you arrive.

We had a fantastic stay over Thanksgiving week! The layout was perfect for families, with the main bedroom and bathroom located away from the kitchen and other bedrooms, providing extra privacy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the pots and pans were great quality. The laundry room was spacious, and the open kitchen/dining/living area was ideal for gathering and watching football. The game room was a hit, with unlimited video games and a pinball machine—just remember to bring quarters for the pinball! The small, fenced outdoor area off the game room was perfect for our dogs to relax and watch the neighborhood. The neighborhood itself was quiet and peaceful, and we even spotted a red fox one morning! Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay, and we will definitely rent it again for future visits!

We had the most wonderful time at this beach house! It had everything we needed for a perfect family getaway, from beach chairs to sand toys, every detail was thoughtfully provided. My kids especially loved fishing off the boat slip, which was such a fun and unique bonus! The location was peaceful and quiet, making it easy to relax and unwind. The house itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and felt like a true home away from home. We made such special memories here and can’t wait to come back again!

We had a great long weekend stay. The house exceeded our expectations, was spacious and the views were incredible. Only a half mile drive to the bridge leading to the surf city pier.

This was one of the most peaceful and heartwarming stays I’ve ever had. The cabin is absolutely stunning—you can feel the love and craftsmanship Roy put into every detail, from the design to the beautiful artwork throughout. Rebecca’s garden is breathtaking and felt like a hidden little sanctuary. We especially loved relaxing on the screened-in patio and grilling outside—it was the perfect setup for a cozy getaway. And Buttercup!! The sweetest pup ever. She made us feel right at home when she waddled over for a little love. Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described (honestly, even better in person). You can tell this place is well cared for, and it made our time in Wilmington so memorable. We’d absolutely stay again!

We had a great week at the beach staying at Sue’s house! The house was the perfect size for our family of four. It was just a short walk to a public beach access. We also enjoyed kayaking in the creeks behind the house, watching the beautiful sunsets on the back deck, and grilling and eating in the awesome area under the house. Sue was very responsive whenever we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was just as described and in pristine condition. The location was in a quiet area with plenty of local attractions and great dining within a few short miles. Sharlene checked in throughout our stay to make sure we had all we needed. Small instruction notes throughout the house as well as the guest book made our stay a breeze!
