Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Old Saybrook

Katie’s somewhat rustic cottage is right on a beautiful pond, with a beautiful view. It’s cozy and comfortable, and within easy walking distance of downtown Niantic. Katie made us feel right at home. We definitely would stay there again.

The Boulder Lake House was absolutely beautiful. The photos do not do the home justice. They have everything you can possibly need inside and it was immaculately clean! We traveled with our 2 & 4 year olds who are very particular about things & they loved the house. Made themselves right at home. The amenities were endless and the kitchen was a treasure to use; we ate home for every meal. We had an issue with the deck door & owner was at the house within 20 minutes to help. Very respectful & helpful. I would definitely reserve this house in the future.

Wow. What s perfect spot for a family gathering. Bassett house was the best equipped airbnb I’ve ever experienced. Old style charm. Stunningly renovated. Lots of room for entertaining inside and out. And fully stocked for breakfast for all of us. Thanks to the super host!!

Super clean, quiet and comfortable with lots of great touches. We didn’t get the best weather for lake life but the house made up for it nicely. Look forward to staying again someday!

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Eileen's beautiful waterfront home. The view from the living room and primary bedroom of the water was so peaceful. The kitchen was well appointed and the cozy living room made for a wonderful family gathering spot when we weren't dining out at the fabulous nearby restaurants, visiting wineries, or viewing local scenery. Eileen was incredibly responsive to small questions we had. We would definitely book again!!

Wonderful stay! Close to beautiful historic downtown Essex. Short walk to coffee shop in the morning and dinner at night! Kayaking in Long Island sound! Great biking! Super clean, well decorated. Everything was new and Very cozy! Perfect couples getaway in the lower Connecticut valley!! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful weekend at Aude's home in Essex. The setting was beautiful and the house itself was immaculate. It is a 7 minute drive to the center of town, which was convenient. The host was very responsive and quick to fix any concerns we brought to her attention. I would definitely return to this Airbnb!

The space was lovely and included helpful messages (ex. where everything is located and how to use the remotes). We only stayed for an overnight and thought the space was just beautiful. Thank you for hosting!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Barbara’s beautiful home! From the moment we arrived, everything was spotless, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The house is full of charm and character, with thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel like a true home away from home. The location was perfect—peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to everything we wanted to explore. We especially loved the cozy fireplace, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Barbara & Patty were incredibly responsive and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. This was our 3rd time staying here and we highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, beautiful getaway. We’d definitely love to return in the future!

We had a great stay at bobs apartment. The unit was just as described. It has a large yard where we could let our toddler twins run around to burn energy. Bob was very responsive when we had a question. Instructions were clear and concise. He gave us a lot of grace when the little ones had middle of the night tantrums (we had a 24 hr drive so our routines were totally messed up). My only critique would be we really wish we had a broom to sweep up. Thanks again!

Janet's place was perfect for my visit. plenty of space in the apartment to spread out. it had everything I needed and didn't feel cluttered. and it was squeaky clean.

Highly, highly recommend! A gem of a find! Pictures are exact and the place was spotless. Great walkable neighborhood and lots to do. I will definitely book again if I am back in town. Communication was excellent!

My family and I had a wonderful stay - very peaceful and quiet. The house is beautifully appointed and well- stocked. The pool is fantastic and was kept quite warm during a chilly Memorial day weekend. Ann Marie (host) is kind and communicative. We'd definitely return!

The moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a breathtaking panoramic view of the lake that instantly set the tone for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The house is incredibly spacious, with a well-designed open layout and large windows that flood the space with natural light. Every room felt bright, airy, and inviting. Cleanliness was top-notch—the entire place was spotless and clearly very well cared for. We loved how quiet and serene the surroundings were; it felt like our own private retreat away from the noise and rush of everyday life. Mornings spent sipping coffee on the deck and kayaking over the water by the backyard lake were highlights of our trip. Whether you're looking to unwind, connect with nature, or simply enjoy some peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, this lake house is the perfect place. We’re already dreaming of our next visit and would recommend it without hesitation.

We had a great stay at Nicole’s villa. It was very clean and well kept. She was very responsive to all communication. Overall Nicole’s villa was a great little gem close to the casino yet away from the noise!

Cute and cozy space for the 4 of us! The house was great to accommodate our family and this weekend’s events. Jana was a wonderful host, very responsive and proactive to a local power grid outage and made sure we were taken care of throughout the afternoon until power was restored. Very flexible in letting us check in an hour early as we arrived earlier than scheduled. Overall great experience and perfect host!

We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect. The view of the water was everything and was accessible from nearly every room. The home was modern and easily accommodated our large group. Yet it was cozy and beautifully appointed with all the amenities you would ever want. It is ideal for children with every toy imaginable. There was a highchair and a pack and play for our toddler and child appropriate dishes. The kitchen was fully equipped and had 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers and 3 tables for dining. The beautiful pool and hot tub were in constant use. Mary is very thoughtful and assembled a ringed binder with important contacts and suggestions for dining, shopping and entertainment. Although there was no beach on the property there are nearby beaches. The towns of Guilford and (nearby) Madison are charming and well worth visiting. Mary was very accommodating and responded promptly to several inquiries.

Stay was great, enjoyed the Spa and the hot tub ! I wish the hot tub closing times were posted somewhere but other than that it was great ! Fire place was a also very cool and the fire starter that is supplied was very helpful

Dove Haven is truly a special spot that shows that someone (Patty) cares about it a lot. The house is very well stocked and we never lacked for anything. And the collection of available umbrellas was greatly appreciated (yes, a bit of rain). Spacious hot tub (accommodates 8, nicely) is well-located on adjacent deck with beautiful view of spectacular garden. Rare to find a place where each of the five bedrooms, (with en suite or nearby bathroom), would be a master bedroom in a typical Airbnb. The master bedroom lives up to the billing with a monstrous bathroom including an inviting tub and a private porch. Public tennis courts and public pickleball courts nearby (less than a mile down West Rock Ave) were a treat. As was brunch at Bella’s Cafe (highlighted in Patty’s online notebook). Just plain terrific from beginning to end.
