House holiday rentals in Ocean Beach, San Diego

I am a San Diego local, but my family was coming to town and we needed more space. I picked this place because I knew my sister and brother-in-law would love being able to walk to all the restaurants and brewery nearby and my 6 year old nephew would get a lot of use out of the pool. The place exceeded my expectations, it was perfect for everyone. We spent a lot of time in the backyard swimming or playing board games, and my Mom got a lot of use out of the hot tub. Communication with the host was excellent and the place was comfortable and clean. The only downside is my family might visit too often now!

Our host John provides a beautifully decorated home in a quiet, central neighborhood. The setup is exceptional, with both a heated pool and hot tub, and the experience felt like staying in a boutique hotel. He thoughtfully includes amenities like toothbrushes, makeup remover wipes, cotton pads, and more — the attention to detail really impressed us. We absolutely loved our time in La Jolla, and John’s local tips were spot-on. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend booking with him.

Stay at Katri’s was great. Had delicious cookies waiting for us when we checked in, which was a breeze. House was spacious and entire lot was very big. Pool was great and even after we had told them that no heated pool would be necessary, Mother Nature had a different idea and gave us some more than unexpected chilly weather, so they had no problem throwing the heater on for us. Freeway in the background was hardly a noise problem for us personally. Just far enough that it didn’t affect us, and was nice to see what our morning commute was going to be like. Brought two dogs with the group that absolutely loved everything (after one of them finally got over his fear of the staircase). All in all a great stay in a great neighborhood. Cant comment more how quickly they responded to us in the days leading up to the trip, and while we were there. Great hosts!

Great location and the house had everything we needed. beautiful home, nice decoration and really nice view from the jacuzzi.

This has been one of the best places we’ve ever stayed! Jing‘s place was impeccable and she went above and beyond to welcome us! She’s amazing!! We came to fresh cut flowers, fresh baked cookies, fruit, and a refrigerator with assorted beverages! It was so welcoming!!She even went out and bought a box fan just in case we needed it! Everything in the house was clean and tastefully decorated, and it’s all quality furnishings!! She also let us check out later due to our flight schedule!! Wish we could give more than 5 stars!! The location is a ten minute walk to the beach. There’s a sprouts three minutes away and numerous bars, restaurants, and shops. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Great location with a very great host. Very kind people. I would definitely stay again.

I never leave reviews but had to for this home. Truly the most wonderful experience! Stayed for my sister’s bachelorette, and the backyard was even more incredible than pictured!! Every guest wished we could extend our stay, and my sister and I are already talking about trying to return to this exact home for a future family vacation.

Our family enjoyed our stay in this adorable home. It had everything we needed for a weekend stay and was very comfortable, clean, nicely decorated and centrally located. Lindsay was super responsive and the home had great bonus areas such as the rooftop. Thank you!!

Evans’ apartment is an exemplary Airbnb. First off, it’s super clean and well designed. It looks better than a lot of hotels I’ve stayed in, and the renovation level is fantastic. Second, it’s in a cool, trendy location that’s just a 10 minute walk or so from town center, but still very quiet. Finally, it’s super convenient. Checking in and out is seamless with a locked gate with a passcode allowing access. The street parking is free and easy. This place is a 10/10.

We loved how close we were to The beach and the bay. Also were able to walk to restaurants and the arcade.

Very clean and cute home on a nice street near shops, cafes, restaurants and of course the beach. A great spot to walk to places or easy to get to anywhere in San Diego. The only downside was the planes were a little loud starting early in the a.m. but that might be just about anywhere in town.

We really enjoyed our stay! The casita was clean, nicely decorated, and had a great yard for our dog. The home was close to beaches, restaurants, and everything we wanted to do. We appreciated the driveway parking and the fact that Alex was easy to communicate with and allowed us to check in early. The airplane noise is noticeable so I’d recommend headphones/ear plugs to get to sleep. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The Avocado House was perfect for our family of six on our vacation! We loved the location, and the house had everything we needed. The kids loved the game room, and we all made memories on the rooftop deck! Adam was very helpful and responsive and even sent someone to help us when we couldn’t get something to work. Great house in a lovely CA neighborhood!

This was the most perfect weekend getaway spot in ocean beach. The place was so clean and so comfortable and had all you could need if you wanted to cook. The place was close to everything and extremely walkable. I would stay again this place was great!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The location was great. Close to the beach and so many great restaurants within walking distance. Quick drives to other parts of San Diego if looking to go elsewhere, but we felt the area really had everything we could need! Alyssa was proactive about checking in during our stay and gave us great recommendations. The unit was very cozy and clean. A great place to relax after spending the day at the beach. The patio is quite large and a lovely place to enjoy meals and the fresh air. Highly recommend and we hope to be back soon!

Perfect spot! So close to the beach, food spots, coffee spots and stores. Cute place tucked away in a nice neighborhood. Would definitely stay again!

This house was great for my family. Right across the street from a park so my little ones enjoyed the easy access to burn off some energy. It’s walking distance to some great restaurants and the beach, and a short drive to the Zoo. The Host’s made communication easy and answered any questions I had in a timely manner. Overall had a great weekend getaway

Our stay at the Carter Cottage was beyond words. We struggled to find a home that could accommodate our group for the weekend we stayed and we were overjoyed to find such a perfect retreat. Not only was the home well positioned in town near the sunset cliffs and local eateries, it was hard to leave because the house was designed so beautifully. Every detail was thoughtfully done. We really had a hard time saying goodbye at the end of our stay. We will be making this our destination going forward. Thank you Ashlyn and Travis!

The home was comfortable and perfect for the week with my adult children. The view from the front was spectacular and we spent mornings drinking our coffee on the front patio looking at the sea. We also had our dachshund who had a blast playing ball in the back area where its totally fenced in. The beds were ALL super comfy- even the secondary ones, which often is not the case. We did not really cook, but the kitchen seemed very well equipped to do so. Its only about 10 minutes to the airport (yes, you can hear the planes, but a small price to pay for staying here and they do not fly after 11:30), and I was attending an event in the Arts District, which was also only 10 minutes away. We often walked down into Ocean Beach- an easy walk, and to the Dog Beach. So very well located. We had a wonderful stay.

This place was perfect for our trip to San Diego. It was clean, well stocked, and so cute! My six month old loved the swing chair in the living room and we loved the private outdoor space. It was super easy to walk to great restaurants and the beach. We will definitely stay here next time we’re in town.

The accommodations were fabulous. Spacious living / kitchen and a well-designed front patio that can be merged for indoor/outdoor flow. The kitchen was very well stocked with all types of appliances, dishes, serve ware as well as many cooking basics and essentials (spices, oil, coffee, etc). So easy to walk all around OB and enjoy the many beach cottages in the neighborhood. Multiple coffee shops (matcha, açaí) to choose from. We could not have had a lovelier stay. Everything in the space was new and pristine. We loved having the washer/dryer as well as a full ironing board and iron. (We were in town for a graduation)! Matthew was very helpful and responsive to all inquiries. Highly, highly recommend. 5 out of 5
