Waterfront holiday rentals in Nicoya Peninsula

This is our second time at Nick's place and it was everything we remembered. You can walk out the back patio and in 100 feet, go right into the ocean, with great surfing right there. Short walk to Tamarindo for restaurants and shopping, but secluded enough for peace and quiet. Several small maintenance issues popped up during the 10 days, but Nick responded in 15 minutes each time and the problems were resolved in an hour or two. Great host, great location, and great communication. We'll definitely be back.

From the moment we booked Vanessa was very responsive & knowledgeable. She was able to provide all the insight we needed to make our trip a memorable one. She went out of her way to make sure she was there when we checked in which was really nice & caring. She checked in with us via chat during our stay to make sure everything was going smooth. The view & villa were spectacular and all we needed as a couple to be able to rest & relax. If your a big beach person def recommend checking out Playa Cochal, a short commute from the villa. What a spot for a vacation! The location was prime and the room itself was well suited for everything you need. This is a hidden gem in the area. Things I appreciated the most: The ocean was steps away for a swim at anytime. The shop keepers and restaurant owners downstairs are great people and pleasant to talk to during your stay. Waffle monkey (breakfast) and Portofino are the best spots for breakfast, fresh seafood, low cost happy hours, and fire show at night during sunset. You can literally walk anywhere in minutes. There is 3 separate door with locks to get to your top floor rental so this spot is very safe! If you are lucky, you'll notice a 5 foot iguana that rests in the trees to your right off the porch, spending days in the trees. Alvaro is the mgmt person who helps you. He speaks great English and responds rapidly to questions. Can't wait to return and bring family. The two units next to each other would be an ideal joint rental for a group of 5-7 people. Highly recommend!!!

The condo was as described and is in a great location. The views are beautiful and the grounds are well maintained. The little beach is great and there are many iguana around the property, much to the delight of our child. The pool was clean and there was plenty of room. We would definitely stay there again.

Clean, bright, airy apartment right on Potrero beach. Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, and a very well-equipped, spacious kitchen. 5-10 minute walk—via the beach if we wanted—to several excellent restaurants and a serviceable grocery store. Loved watching pelicans dive for fish from the balcony and the stunning sunsets.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience in Nosara and cannot wait to come back. Staying at the Surf Shack made my trip. It was walkable to so many great food places, the beach and shops. Tatiana’s recommendations were also so helpful and she really went above and beyond to help me set up a few things for my stay. I am a solo female traveler and I felt so safe the entire time here. Incredibly peaceful and beautiful. I am very grateful.

We had the loveliest time at this beachfront house. The pool is gorgeous - not too warm or cold. It was so refreshing to relax in the pool and stare at the waves. The house is in the best part of Esterillos, right in front of the “mermaid” and the tide pools. The house is well designed and makes use of all the spaces. It was clean and well equipped. You can also walk to the nearby store and there are a few good restaurants just a block or two away walking along the beach. It was an amazing place to share with family, we will be back!

Our family of five (with three kids under four) had the most incredible month at this Airbnb! The location was perfect, with a breathtakingly gorgeous beach just steps away. We felt completely safe the entire time, which was so important with little ones. The house itself was comfortable and well-maintained, but what truly made our stay exceptional was the wonderful staff. Maureen, the housekeeper, was incredibly helpful and kind, making everything seamless for us. And we can’t recommend Domingo the cook enough—her dinners were a highlight of our trip! We used her services every night, and every meal was absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a stress-free, beautiful getaway with top-notch hospitality, this is the place to be! We can’t wait to return!

Staying at Rancho De Linda was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the lush Costa Rican jungle on the beach, it offers the perfect blend of natural charm to fully immerse yourself in the local ecosystem. The property is surrounded by vibrant wildlife — from colorful frogs, friendly iguanas, beautiful butterfly’s, hermit crabs and chirping birds. The views are breathtaking and the sounds of the ocean are mesmerizing — making it a true ecological retreat. Douglas and Irena were delightful hosts. We enjoyed visits from their sweet pup Bambi and loved the availability of the housekeeper. The place is very clean and well taken care of. We loved our Yoga class Irena taught under the palapa and enjoyed the delicious cooking of two local chefs. We drove into Tamarindo for the day and visited the Diamanté Eco Adventure Park for a thrilling zip line. If you find yourself in Puntarenas and have a taste for history and true hospitality, Casa Fait is the place to go. The house itself is beautifully and carefully restored to it’s early 20th century splendour, which is completely surreal given today’s reality of the fisherman town. The hosts are beyond welcoming and shared a lot of stories, recommendations, anecdotes and wisdom. It has been a great experience on our journey through Costa Rica.

5 Stars – Best Airbnb I’ve Stayed In! This place was absolutely perfect! The location is excellent—just 50 yards from the beach, which made it incredibly convenient to enjoy the ocean every day. The home itself was spotless, with a beautiful pool and a well-equipped, modern kitchen. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Vidal was amazing—super helpful, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Hands down, this is the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beach getaway!

We had slight difficulty finding this place as we arrived after dark. What a treat to wake up the next day to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys and a spectacular view of Lake Arenal! The previous evening we had the best meal of our entire vacation at Restaurante Tinajas just down the road. In the morning, we rented the Paddle board. It was so peaceful out on the lake with gorgeous views. The unit is exactly as described. There are not many extras such as salt/pepper for cooking or shampoo for showering.

This place is a treasure. I traveled solo and had a wonderful stay. I had a surf lesson very locally and it's close to lots of other activities and you can explore the centre of Jaco on foot very easily too! Really just minutes from the beach, but the place feels, calm and tranquil due to a stunning well designed entrance and garden. And it also feels safe, and very secure and private. This condo was exceptionally clean with a beautiful view. It was a very brief walk to the Main Street. Everything was literally five minute walk. They are picky with who they host (with good reason) because of how pristine it is. Thank you :)

Great apartment at a secure location. Pool just outside and access to the beach. Access to the casino next door with restaurant options and an even bigger pool. Can walk the street or beach to the downtown in 20 minutes or get a cab/Uber if the weather is too hot.

This place is fantastic, spotless, well equipped, secure, easy to access and a beautiful ocean view. The beach chairs/umbrella are a great bonus which we used to enjoy Playa Flamingo in comfort David is a generous, responsive host. Thank you for hosting us.

We love going to Reserva Conchal and Daphne's place had everything we wanted, from plenty of bedrooms, to a great location and view overlooking the golf course. Once inside the reserve, we had access to both The Westin and The W and all the amenities they had to offer. Great place to spend a weekend.

Josephine communicated clearly and timely. The condo met my family's need. We needed a place to relax after some days of intense hikes in other regions. The pool was lovely and right outside our door. We watched surfers on the beach though the rough waters and rocky beach did not avail sun-soaking or swimming.

We were 2 adults and 2 kids staying in Sean's beautiful place. It's big, plenty of space and a balcony with unbelievable views! The best thing was a private beach just a few steps away, perfect for relaxing and swimming. Another bigger beach is about 10-15 minutes to walk or a couple minute drive. We came during off season so it was very quiet which was perfect for us. We also walked about 10 min to the Marina for a boat tour which was very convenient. Thank you, Sean!

This unit in Bahia Encantada is excellent, on the beach, clean and well-appointed. Just what the doctor ordered....if he ordered cold drinks at Clarita's (next door restaurant), a beach at your door step and the relaxing sound of surf. An excellent place. Pura Vida!
