The house was welcoming, full of useful items and very clean. Lovely location close to a park, nice walks, within minutes of the town centre. I’d highly recommend visiting this area and staying at Lyn’s house.

A great place to stay for a small group/family gathering. There are 2 living rooms and outdoor space so room to spread out. We loved the hot tub! The hobbit house is a cool addition with fairy lights, a Bluetooth speaker and is very well-insulated so warm even without the central fire going. The house has beautiful views and was a lovely place to relax and be cosy on rainy days. Only a short (15 mins) drive to the small towns of Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas, Threave Gardens and the Kite feeding place at Laurieston.

Lovely cottage, met our needs perfectly for a two night stay. Was nice to be able to have a peaceful walk along the river Nith almost from the doorstep and we particularly enjoyed the garden, what a lovely sunny spot.

We had a lovely short stay at the Old Schoolhouse. House was just as pictured on the site and felt really homely and comfortable and Treacle loved the back garden. We would definitely stay again.

Honestly one of the nicest Airbnb's I've stayed in - would 100% recommend booking. The cottage itself is gorgeous with everything you could possibly need for a week away, comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen (even an air fryer) and lovely peaceful garden/surroundings. I felt right at home and did not want to leave! It's in a great area with lots to do, whether you like sight seeing, hiking or days at the beach. I will definitely be looking to book here again in the future!

Carmen is a super host, we absolutely loved the home from home home feel. My little boy who is 2 years of age settled to sleep well in the childrens room (this tells me he felt safe in the cottage). The roku stick was available to use and worked easily. The trail at the side if the house has beautiful waterfalls to view and a few stopping spots for those who need to go a little slower/steady or have children. We experienced no issues at all with our stay. Thank you Carmen we will definitely be back again.

Beautiful cottage, we really enjoyed our stay. Free parking just down the road. Nancy was an attentive host and responded to our questions quickly, she gave us lots of local info. We even managed to meet Nancy during our stay which was lovely. The homemade bread and flapjacks made by Nancy’s husband were delicious. Our 1st time at Cruggleton Lodge - though we have stayed at the relatively adjacent High Lodge several times. As at HL before, we had an idyllic week - which the facilities at CL provided an excellent foundation for. CL is secluded, set in the edge of woodlands, with breath-taking views out to sea. The walk through the woods down to Garlieston starts literally outside the door. Woods containing deer, hares and a wide variety of bird species. Have already booked again!

Stayed in this caravan for a few nights. Response from the owner was great. Fast response and friendly. Caravan was immaculate, high standard, modern and extremely clean. Check in easy Everyone on the site very friendly, lovely and quiet site. Can't fault whatsoever.

Fantastic stay. Caravan had everything we needed for our stay including condiments, iron, towels etc. Beautifully decorated and in a peaceful area. We will definitely be booking again!

We have had a wonderful stay in this beautiful Lodge. As a family of 6 with 2 dogs, we found the accommodation ample and spacious. When we arrived the lodge was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. we found the area very peaceful and there was plenty of places to visit. It was so nice to have such a lovely beach just a 5 minute walk away, the kids and dogs enjoyed it very much. we will definitely be back!

Beautiful spot and perfect place for our family to stay in. The caravan was clean, with a well equipped kitchen, which we really liked! Wi-Fi was a bit poor, but we expected that as the site is quite remote. I recommend Dorota's place to anyone who wants to have a rest from their busy life. Thank you for having us.

We loved our stay at TOSH! It was the perfect place to escape for a few nights and relax in. The attention to detail throughout is clear to see and creates such a lovely vibe. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting the area.

We had the most wonderful time in this little tree house. Marie and Kenneth have put so much thought into the little details. There was games to play, milk, butter and even little containers of jam. The place was so cosy and the garden was just beautiful. We even got to meet Taffy the little sausage dog who was also very accommodating and friendly. We wish we booked for more than one night.

Our host, Karen, was perfect. She was polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Her property was stunning and had everything we needed to be a a home from home. Her particular attention to our dogs needs really stood out. We were welcomed by milk in the fridge, fresh fruit, treats and toys for the dog and a plethora of leaflets books and dining out ideas for the area. Loved the little touches like notes on the OS maps…it really is the little details that count. We had an amazing stay in this beautiful and peaceful property. Creetown had so much to offer in such a welcoming and subtle way, everyone in the community was friendly and took the time to talk about places to go, local history…and even helped us deer spot literally meters from the front door. Perfect week away.

We had a fantastic stay. The property had plenty of room for our small family and dog. The location is so picturesque, we wish we didn't have to leave. There's beautiful walks to be had nearby and the drive out to the nearest villages or towns are quiet and stunning. Amber and Chris were very responsive and gave us loads of ideas for things to do. Wow! Where to start? I took a long time looking around to find the perfect last-minute break away for us. My wants really should have been impossible at the price we paid. However, it was absolutely perfect and fit our needs completely. it's a beautiful little property that is spotlessly clean The king-size bed is so comfy and it has all the amenities you could want. The spa bath unit with all the additional functions is just incredible. location is perfect. You can walk to restaurants and shops easily and there are so many lovely places to visit close by. Richard and Davina are wonderful hosts. I can't recommend this property enough. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Remote and beautiful location surrounded by fine trees, masses of birds including house martens, geese and red kites. The house is spacious and comfortable with everything you need at hand. The children loved the friendly horses, the boat on the little lake, the games that were available and being able to run round outside. Adults enjoyed the quietness and the hot tub!

Lovely place to stay, exactly like the photos and had everything we needed for our time away. Hot tub was easy to use and such a nice way to wind down at the end of the day whilst listening to the birds.
