Off the beaten path for Waco. A very earthy lovely place. James was great.

The cabin and ranch were very nice and matched the description. We arrived after dark to check-in and it was a little difficult to find our exact cabin as there are several like it but they do have signs showing the cabin names outside each one. Once inside we found the cabin was comfortable and matched the listing. We had one problem the first night with getting hot water but that was fixed by the next morning. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. To note, the only seating options in the living room area are a couch/futon that can seat up to 3 and 2 bar stools and there are no tables or surfaces outside of the kitchen counters so finding places to set things can be difficult. There is a long road to get to the ranch that is paved but does have numerous dips and potholes. Finally, the stairs to the loft area are steep. The ranch does offer activities that can be booked directly through their website, we booked a couple and overall enjoyed the stay.

My stay at Moon River Ranch was unforgettable! The cabin was cozy, beautifully decorated, and provided the perfect retreat surrounded by nature. The safari ride was a unique and amazing experience – we got up close to wildlife with knowledgeable guides who made it even more special. The ATV rentals were another highlight, letting us explore the stunning property through well-maintained trails, offering breathtaking views at every turn. We enjoyed the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, making this place ideal for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We loved unwinding on the porch, soaking in the scenery, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The combination of activities, luxury, and serene atmosphere truly made this a standout experience. Highly recommend and will definitely return!

The cottage at Moon River was great, we enjoyed our time there. The property is beautiful, we felt right at home. We walked around the property and saw so much wildlife. While we stayed we drove to Waco it was very nice, I’d recommend that you visit. Overall the place was great.

I had a wonderful experience at this resort! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The location is beautiful and everything was exactly as described. Highly recommended – I would definitely come back again!

What a hidden gem. The stay was top notch! It had everything you would want and imagine a cozy countryside cabin to have. We felt right at home. Hot tub is always a added luxury after long hours of driving in Texas and this one just hits the spot. Also the donkeys at the farm were lovely to interact with. The host was very responsive and took care of all our needs. She went above and beyond. I would love to visit this place again and again.

This cabin was a wonderful retreat for our family. My wife and I have 4 kids all under 11 and we all loved it! All our kids slept up in the loft (our two boys shared a twin and our two girls shared the other twin) which was like a tree fort for them, they were thrilled! The cabin was cozy, spotlessly clean, and the king bed was very comfortable. All the furniture is very comfortable as well, especially the chairs in the living room and on the deck, which was a lovely feature of property… we got to watch a few Texas thunderstorms roll in while we were there and the peaceful atmosphere on the porch as we enjoyed the sound of the rain and thunder was a highlight of the trip. We had some neighbors in the cabin next-door, but they were great AND there is a large bush between the two cabins which obscures any view, which was nice and gives the porch a private feel. The AC/heating also works fantastic and it was super close to Homested Heritage activities. We will be back for sure! Thanks!

This is a good find! We did not come to the area for an R&R weekend. But, we will come back to Moon River to have one. The exotic animals are an nice touch. Great to watch from the porch while enjoying morning coffee. - bring binoculars! Had a great visit, staff is great, and they are continuing to improve the property. Only slight downside is the public roads getting to the ranch - they are rough!

Place was amazing! Cabin was so nice and very clean. Loved the place. Would highly recommend to any guest in the area!

Great place to stay very close to the town of Waco. Clean and comfy accommodations in a quiet area. I loved everything about this trip especially being able to travel with my puppies. Excellent host who was very responsive. Will definitely stay again!

Very beautiful change of scenery. My kids loved being able to play outside in the rain with no care in the world. The lake was a small walk away but it gave them time to unwind after having soo much fun. Definitely will come back again.

What a great little escape. Host was proactive in reaching out, provided great instructions, and I imagine is very responsive, but everything was just as described and perfect so we had no need to contact Andrew. House was just as pictured and is a nice little home. Seems bigger inside and the windows offer a nice view and great lighting. The location was amazing with close access to the river and a lot of open green space to play in around the house. We spent our days at the river kayaking and talking to the occasional passerby. Just beautiful and peaceful. The water was a little low so we were able to put our camping chairs on part of the dry riverbed and sit and listen to the birds. At night we sat by the fire pit (smaller pit located in the front yard) and watched all the deer grazing on the other side of the yard. It was a great space and we spent most of the time outdoors enjoying the surroundings. Will be coming back to this nice little retreat.

This was a last minute booking , and they were very accommodating. It is an Ideal location for nature lovers. You will get to experience some enjoyable wildlife sightings. Moon river has Peaceful atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I booked the Bobwhite 🐦 cabin last minute. Check in was easy. The instructions were clear and included a map of the property. I slept well, the shower was relaxing, and the property was beautiful. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Waco.

Everything was exactly as listed! We visited because our daughter was graduating from Baylor University and we wanted to find some place that was quiet and peaceful away from the University hustle and bustle community. It is a nice ride about 25 minutes away from the University. This was exactly the place that we were looking for! The pictures of the inside do not do it justice as it is more beautiful than that! Lexi and her husband have thought of everything that travelers would need, have clear instructions and also have it posted inside of the house. We didn't have time to go fishing or anything in the river but we did drive down to it and it is just as beautiful as described. We will definitely stay here again!

Jimmy and Andra’s lodge just outside Waco was awesome! It’s a well maintained, clean, rustic cottage with all the amenities needed for your trip. The owners go over and above providing a bottle of wine and venison jerky as well. The view of the farm was nice to sit on the back patio and enjoy. I would recommend this unique property to anyone visiting Waco. It’s a quick and easy drive into town.

I had a truly peaceful and relaxing stay at Danielle’s cabin! The space was cozy, beautifully decorated with charming touches like quilts and rustic wood ceilings, and felt very welcoming. The kitchen was well-stocked, and everything was sparkling clean. I especially loved sitting on the back porch, taking in the wide open views and the serene country atmosphere. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some quiet time. Danielle was an excellent host, making sure everything was just right. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, country retreat!

Such an adorable place. Our first Tiny Home stay. In hindsight, choosing a place with Murphy bed placement lengthwise would have given more room, but I cannot find fault with The Farmhouse for my lack of knowledge. The area was very drivable to downtown Waco attractions, but gave us the luxury of being out of the city to just relax for a holiday weekend. Plenty of wildlife to enjoy, including a very friendly Roadrunner. We especially enjoyed our visit to Homestead Heritage down the road. Such wonderful craftsmanship and artisans, and the Saturday market is a treat! The neighborhood of Container Tiny Homes was very well maintained, and we enjoyed the neighboring farm kids riding their bikes around the loop. Something you don’t often experience in the city. Kenneth was extremely responsive to a couple of small issues, and a very kind and attentive host. While I’m not sure we will choose a Tiny Home again, I would not hesitate to choose another property hosted by Kenneth.

My family and I had a fantastic time while staying at Julia’s place. Julia was amazing with communicating making everything convenient and simple from the beginning to the end. The location was in a private setting with seating areas for relaxing with a fire pit, tetherball, corn hole and swings in the trees for the kids. The house was clean and welcoming with plenty of space for a large group to sleep comfortably. Overall,it’s a very peaceful place. I would definitely stay again and recommend anyone to do the same.

Absolutely loved our stay. Came with my teen daughter, and she loved the loft. We both thought our beds were very comfortable. The decor was beautiful, and the bathroom was pristine. Air conditioner kept it nice and cool the entire time, while it got into the 90s during the day. We would def stay again. About 5 min from the Heritage community with a coffee shoppe, restaurant, and waffle place….among stores with local handmade crafts from the local Mennonite community. Highly recommend.
