Farmstay holiday rentals in Marin County

This was a great spot for our 48hrs in Sonoma. The cottage was perfect for four adults with a shared bathroom. Check in was simple, checkout was also simple. The cottage, as mentioned in previous reviews, is close to the main road but we weren’t bothered by the road noise. Comfy beds, plenty of towels, cute back patio area to sit and enjoy the complementary bottle of wine. Easy drive to anywhere you need to go.

We were two couples from the Bay Area. It was perfect for the four of us. Beautifully decorated, comfortable furniture and comfortable beds. Plenty of drawer space in bedrooms and closets for our cloths and things. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely outdoor space. Laura was very available for any questions. Check in and check out were very easy. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this place!

We had a magical multigenerational stay at Locke's house in Inverness with my husband, three year old and my parents. We visit Pt Reyes regularly and the location is absolutely perfect, quick walk across the road to Chicken Ranch Beach for kids to romp around, a quick drive into Pt Reyes station for dinner, and easy access to all the wonderful Pt Reyes trails. The house itself was cosy, quiet, had amazing views from the deck (and was sunny most of the day which is rare on this side of Tomales bay!) and felt like a real home. We really liked having the separate cottage to provide a bit more privacy and quiet with a young kiddo with us, and we found the kitchen was well equipped for cooking in the evenings. The only very minor challenge we had was trying to heat the cottage and main house evenly as they are on the same heating system, and the nights were chilly during our visit. Definitely staying here again on future trips to Pt Reyes.

Eliza's place was wonderful for us (two parents and a 4 month old baby) for a weekend - we had everything we needed and it was incredibly easy to check in and out. Eliza and her family were there and great to spend time with, but we also felt we had space to ourselves to rest and relax. We will hopefully be back!

My stay was very relaxing and extremely pleasant. Exactly what was advertised. Jeanne responded very quickly to my questions. I highly recommend this home and will look this place up again when I come to Sonoma next.

We will be back! This property is lovely, comfortable and CLEAN! The sunflower cabin worked well for the 2 of us and was very comfortable. The location is perfect if you are exploring Pt Reyes National Seashore and there are plenty of restaurants, stores and amenities in Olema and Pt Reyes Station.

The most incredible home and location!! So far exceeded our expectations!! The setting was gorgeous and serene and perfectly located - short drive to amazing restaurants and vineyards!! We’re already searching for our next opportunity to visit this amazing property!! Couldn’t recommend it more!!!

I can’t say enough positive things about this beautiful home. It was a little bit of magic in Sonoma county, very close to the town center but private and in the valley surrounded by fields. The home was gorgeous with beautiful linens and towels and a perfectly stocked kitchen.

Had a super peaceful stay here with my dog. Everything was extremely clean and exactly as described. Really appreciated all the details like the morning pastries.

Sonja was a fantastic house and the house was exactly as described. We had a great time. It was relaxing and super convenient to all the local attractions. We'd stay again on our next trip.

Jasmin was a great host and very responsive. The house and property are tucked away and feel very private with a beautiful view. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Karen's little house is perfectly situated in Petaluma: quiet but still close to downtown. No car needed for the day-to-day, amazing! As a single dad with 3 little kiddos, we enjoyed the bunk beds. The kids had a blast and slept through every night—all in one room. The additional foldable bed was key to this, so that everyone had their own mattress. The neighborhood is so lovely. In May, all the flowers are making it a color fireworks. Roses everywhere! The playground one block away was our goto activity after sipping an espresso and hot chocolates at Avid.

Situated just 20 minutes walking to the many things to do in downtown Sonoma and a quick 30 minute drive from downtown Napa Ian’s place was just right for our group of 5. The home is lovely and the outside area was a great place for an evening glass of wine with great company. We enjoyed Ian’s recommendations for wineries (We joined Kunde wine club after meeting their team and enjoying a bottle of their Zinfindale grown on 140 year vines.) We also had a Charcuterie board while sitting by their pond with great weather. I walk in the morning and walked to downtown Sonoma and although I said a 20 minute leisurely walk it took me under 15 minutes on my morning exercise walk. The people at the visitor center in the town square are very helpful and very nice (we did get a 2 for 1 tasting pass from the visitors center for one of the many wineries. On arrival we were met by Ian and he left us delicious banana bread and a nice bottle of wine!! Thank you Ian we truly appreciated your hospitality

Ariana's place is perfectly located within the small and secluded village of Dillion Beach. There are ocean views from the living room and the wrapped porch. You can access the beach from a foot path at the end of the road 2 blocks down. There is a parking pad next to the house which is a rare commodity and a wonderful convenience. The house has 2 queen bedrooms upstairs with a separate small bathroom, living/dining and a fabulous kitchen with everything you need. Just off the kitchen and down the stairs is a "bunk room" of sorts. Several beds, TV, washer & dryer and another bathroom. Ariana was a lovely host and we would stay at her cottage again! Tip: Be sure to bring all food and beverage supplies you want for your stay, there is only 1 general store and restaurant in the village. Stop by the Busy Bee farm stand for fruit, vegetables and flowers! Look for a book with Ariana's name on it, she is an author and has lived an amazing life.

This place has a lot of quirk and charm. It has amazing view of the Marin headlands and was perfect for our cozy staycation celebration. It's an older property with a lot of older furniture and knicknacks which does result in dust accumulation. But the beds are clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked for all the supplies you'd need to make meals. The deck is a lovely place to sit and sip on your coffee. The windows are huge which lets in a lot of natural light during the day but due to the construction of the house, there are very few overhead lights and only small lamps to use in the evenings. It adds to the cozy vibe but it is quite dark. Overall great stay, highly recommend!

This cottage in the vineyard was a little gem that provided the most beautiful backyard space for hosting our friends and family who were visiting Sonoma to attend my daughter's wedding. The raised bed gardens and vineyards that literally surrounded us were so welcoming and comforting and drew us outside for most of our stay. The house itself gave all the comforts of home and conveniences you would expect, was clean, and, close to the town, which we walked to several times. The cottage gave us the experience we wanted when visiting Sonoma and we felt the charm, character and history as well as gracious and friendly people wherever we visited. The Casita was an added bonus space with privacy and was a perfect space for my daughter, and now, husband to stay. Thank you for making our time there a memorable one and for the experience that made us feel we were literally in another country.

Had a restful stay at this beautiful home, well equipped house on a peaceful vineyard. This place is somehow both close to good food and far enough away to relax. I enjoyed seeing balloons and birds.

The farmhouse was a perfect weekend getaway from San Francisco, situated on a quiet property with a large garden and views of the blue Pacific waters. The interiors were artistically done, combining rural, country vibes with modern amenities. Also checks off the box for eco-friendly travelers looking for places that recycle, upcycle and preserve. Will be adding this place to the must visit again list.

Overall, very nice! My only real issue was the inflexability on the check out end of things. We had to leave a day earlier than planned, through no fault of our own. I tried for a late check out a day earlier (only 3 hours), to save some money of course. The response was, well you are booked until the 20th, so you can stay as long as you want on the 19th. I just felt that there could have been a little compromise, as people sometimes have to change plans due to circumstances beyond their control. Maybe a charge for staying later could have been offered, but I ended up paying for the entire last night without actually staying there. I have had similar situations over the years with other hosts, and they have been more than happy to compromise.

Beautiful location with the best scenery. The place was comfortable- great bed - and had all the amenities we could have needed. Will definitely recommend this place to other family members who may want to visit Petaluma in the future.

My family had a great stay at Hafeez's place. The space was exactly as described and provided a private sanctuary at the end of the day of activities. The pool was pristine, perfect for all ages to enjoy, and lots of outdoor seating allowed everyone to be together. The kitchen/dining area provided plenty of space for eating and kids to play. The location was convenient; downtown Sonoma is ~10 minutes by car, and there are plenty of wineries and restaurants within a 15 minute drive. Muir woods was about 1 hour drive.

A Thousand Million Stars! This home was even better than described! Pia, the host, was incredibly responsive and attentive from the start, making everything so easy and welcoming. The house itself was spotless, super comfortable, and beautifully decorated with a unique artistic touch that made it feel truly special. The outdoor area was amazing especially the pool, which we all loved and made the most of! When I asked my 6-year-old how many stars he would give it, he said: “a thousand million stars!” That says it all. We highly recommend this gem of a place and will definitely be back.
