Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Luray

This airbnb was better than I expected. Although, it is not at the google maps location when using maps, it has a sign directing you where to go. It was very clean and homey. It felt comfortable and the bed was like a cloud. It was very private and the hot tub was just icing on the cake since being in the mountains is chilly. The hosts left extra food/supplies that came in handy. I would definitely come back! The water was a little smelly, but it is most likely just from being so far in the mountains. The hosts were super responsive and answered any questions I had. 100% would recommend.

The house was impressively clean. It was very private, and had a good amount of space for our family. We found our stay to be very comfortable. The space was well supplied. Nicole‘s communication was excellent, and we had an easy time getting in and checking out. It was in close driving proximity to Shenandoah national Park and downtown Luray which we enjoyed.

A nearly perfect stay - We had a wonderful stay at this cozy Airbnb tucked away in the woods near the Shenandoah River. The setting was peaceful and scenic—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The home was impressively well-stocked with everything from cooking essentials to medical supplies and even female hygiene products, which was a thoughtful touch. We did run into a couple of technical issues with the HVAC not cooling and the ceiling fan not working. However, the hosts were incredibly responsive and sent someone out as soon as possible to address it, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a nearly perfect stay, and we’d happily return!

We had a great stay at Stephanie's place! It was exactly as pictured! She's extremely responsive. The extra games and chalk for our 1 year old to play with with fantastic. The basket she leaves with snacks is touching and the fresh eggs in the fridge were great! This was one of the best places we have stayed.

Our stay at the Sunset Mountain Retreat was wonderful. The property has beautiful views, the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with everything we needed and the house was very clean! We were in the perfect location - got to visit luray caverns, a few trips into the national park, and had delicious meals at triple crown BBQ and west main market (and flotzis for ice cream!) and coal ridge brewery was fun for an early evening activity. Vanessa was a great host with great communication. Worth every penny and I will definitely be booking this house for our next trip to Shenandoah!!

Great location and responsive hosts! Clean and comfortable! We identified a few maintenance type issues that they are addressing quickly, but nothing that made our stay less enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Very nice and spacious house nestled in the mountains. The house has great amenities and is in a very nice and peaceful location. Great getaway.

This is a great location and one I would absolutely recommend for families staying locally or day trippers visiting the national park or national forests. Luray is a tiny little town but you have 4-5 restaurants and cafes within a 5-10 minute walk from your front door. It’s such a prime location you’ll likely have locals inquire about the house when they pass by on their morning walk along the Hawksbill Greenway. Everyone loves this house, basically. The house is very accommodating for dogs and it’s secluded enough that you really don’t need to worry about barking. In the summer you can often enjoy live music at the beer garden next door from the privacy of the porch or patio. The house is already stocked with kid-safe utensils and dishes and even has a private playroom. Our kids also loved going across the street to skip rocks in the stream or walk along the protected bike/pedestrian path.

We had a great stay, it was so clean and we had everything we needed. They made everything so easy with well written instructions for how everything worked. Best AIRBNB we have ever stayed in. Loved it.

Besides the above, the place had an excellent internet connection with multiple outlets in both the bedroom and living area. Lots of small details throughout that showed a lot of thought went into providing comfort to whoever stayed there. Its appreciated.

Such a friendly host who truly cares about this property and the people who stay in it. She has a lovely welcome book with lots of information. I had a wonderful stay. Ruthann’s place was beautiful both inside and out. The room was spacious, spotless, and full of light, perfect for a solo traveler. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, great water pressure in the shower. I especially loved the raised nook beside the bed; it was a lovely place to begin the day, reading by the morning light and listening to the birds. The private patio is peaceful, a well-shaded garden with comfortable furnishings; you can spend all day out there. Ruthann is just lovely. Her instructions for parking and accessing the space were clear, and she was very responsive and checked in with me each day. It was great to chat. I felt very welcome. I appreciated all the little touches, from snacks and water to the collection of DVDs. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and hope to stay again!

Loved our studio apartment in Shenandoah! The studio had everything we needed, was easily accessible and was quaint. We loved visiting the playground nearby and ice cream shop as well! Our little loved being able to see the mountains from the lobby, hearing and seeing the trains go by! Everything we wanted to see was 30 minutes away- some vineyards, the National Park, Luray Caverns, and so on! Thank you Brad and Elizabeth for opening your place to my small family! We hope to visit again one day!

This Airbnb was so beautiful and clean! We stayed here for a stopover during our trip to see family. It was very spacious and comfortable!! The owners are very welcoming and respond quickly. We would definitely stay here again and would suggest others to do the same!

If I ever return to the area, I will definitely stay at Awesome View! William is very easy to visit with and accommodating. We had a short drive to enter Shenandoah NP and spent lot of time in the NP.

Beautiful little upstairs flat in a lovely area behind the Woodrow Wilson’s Presidential Library. Cozy and relaxing decor and the king bed was very comfortable. I hope to stay again when in the area.

Have stayed here multiple times now but this visit was specifically for my daughter and son in law to enjoy a babymoon getaway. The river is easily accessible so they floated in tubes one day and took their canoe out another. They were able to take their dog as it is dog friendly. They grilled out and enjoyed the beautiful decks around the home. Resturant suggestions were layed out with local menus as well as local attractions. Luray Caverns is close by, Cooters, from Dukes of Hazards store serves a great lunch, and the drive and scenery all around is incredible. Sharon is the best host and always available by text or phone for questions. Check in and out were simple.

Communication was great, the location was nice and the description of the facility was spot on. It was roomy and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Very clean, nicely furnished b&b. Beds were comfortable too. The views out the window were lovely in fall with the changing leaves. We found the stay peaceful and quiet. The apartment had everything we needed. It was a little light on supplies (e.g. detergent pods, shampoo and conditioner) but we had brought our own supplies so it wasn’t an issue.

Andy was very responsive and gave clear instructions. We had been at this resort a few times in the past and the unit we received was very nicely appointed and updated. We had all amenities and were super close to the indoor pool and gym. Comfortable.

Molly was a great host. The Airbnb looks exactly like the photos. The place was clean and had everything we needed. It was quiet and we couldn’t hear any neighbors. Molly gave very detailed instructions which made checking in super simple. The beds were a little bit hard but other than that, this was a perfect place to stay.

Alison's place is great if you value being walkable to Old Town. We prefer this over staying at the Wyndham Grand because of the separate room for our baby to sleep in. The kitchen is modern and fridge with a water filter is clutch. We didn't try to make any meals. Bed was clean/firm, HVAC was responsive, and lounge chair in the sitting area was comfortable. You can hear the train and street noise (especially cars w/o mufflers) at night, but I assume that's the case if you stay anywhere near Old Town.

We had a great couple of days here. Really enjoyed sitting on the back porch. We had to leave a day early because rain cancelled our mountain biking plans. We would stay here again!

The rental and grounds met our expectations and needs very well. Lots to do in the surrounding area. The pool and hot tub were just right. Comfy beds and cozy common area.
