My home is in the country on a beautiful all sports lake. Its a lovely quiet neighborhood just 15 minutes away from Lake Michigan. Attractions are fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, walking the beach, climbing the dunes, biking, hiking or just relaxing on the patio. Manistee national forest trails are withing 10-15 minutes to hike or cross country ski. Three coastal towns are 15-30 minutes away with quaint shops and restaurants. A lovely small meal will be offered for breakfast.
“Bev's home is absolutely beautiful! The pictures are lovely, but it is even lovelier in person :) We were only there for 2 nights due to kids' schedules; would have loved to have stayed longer. There is plenty of space inside and outside. There is a covered porch/balcony on the back that wraps around two sides and part of the front - lots of sitting areas; there is also a wonderful cement/stone patio on the walk out level with wonderful sitting areas. Bev's home is just a few steps to the water - she has a double and single kayak to use and a paddle board (harder than it looks :)); she also has a fire pit (and wood) that you can use. The beds were comfy. Everything was clean and well thought out. Bev is a wonderful host; her breakfasts are amazing! Her home is located off the beaten path, but still within 20 minutes or so of the big lake. I highly recommend a stay at Bev's.”
This quaint log cabin is nestled amongst trees in the heart of the Manistee National Forest. Your stay at the Aubert Den will give you that true Up North feel. This cozy cabin is central to the Pere Marquette River, Biking/ORV/ATV/Snowmobile Trails.
“Excellent property, we stayed there amazing 9 nights. It was an excellent vacation for all of us. We had great time biking, hiking and sun bathing by the lake (in Ludington). Our goal was stay further out of the ordinary working days and out of the city's turmoil . It met our expectation 100%. Clean, cozy easy to access, lot of biking an hiking options and owners are very helpful. One think you should realize that the area lies in the middle of a prehistoric see and everything around is on sand. If you like biking as we do, you can take many single tracks for example by Bowmanlake, BigM or North Country Trail some are accessible directly from the cabin some by a short drive. There is also an option to ride on the roads which were very quite too. We combined them with trails often.”
Zane’s Landing is a cabin built in the middle of the Manistee National Forest, it sits alongside the Little Manistee River which is a blue ribbon trout stream and an excellent steelhead River. Guests will enjoy the private deck built along the river and have 100’ of river frontage all to themselves. Inside guests will find that the home has been completely remodeled, the owners paying attention to every detail. Come enjoy all that Northern Michigan has to offer.
“We had such a nice time in this house in the woods! The owners were very thoughtful when they designed the house—everything is so very cute and also practical, with just what you need to be comfortable. We appreciated all of the little touches (blankets, movies, games, toiletries, etc), and we used every space. The screened porches (one up top and one down by the river) were our favorite places to hang out together. The river is gorgeous and we had fun playing games, reading, and swimming. The location is great, too. We took long walks in the woods and my husband mountain biked every morning on the nearby trails. We also kayaked on the Pine River (and had the whole river to ourselves). When we had an issue with the water (the well’s pump broke) the owners came out immediately and fixed it—and they refunded us some $ for the inconvenience, which was unexpected and very nice. This was a great place to get away, tune out, relax, and reconnect. We’ll be back!”
