Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Los Pargos

We were looking forward a remote location to settle for some months. This was a great sanctuary to be alone and explore the empty beach. The WiFi was very good , even when other local services were unavailable. The neighbour made us delicious food when requested. A great adventure.

Great place to stay! We loved the jungle feel at casa abejas and the salt water pool was amazing.

We stayed in the rainy season with two families. The unique layout let us all move around after hours and have pretty of privacy. The covered seating area and large sliding and folding doors to the pool made for such an awesome set up in the rain or sun. The pool had plenty of shade to hide from roasting in the sun. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay here. It’s tucked away on a hillside, but Alejandro gave very detailed instructions and videos of how to get there. The place is as pictured. My kids loved the pool and the monkeys that showed up in the morning. Sunsets are beautiful and it’s only a 15 minute drive to Playa Avellana.

We stayed a month at Casa Azul and loved it. We had our 10 year old son with us and we did not have a car so we walked everywhere. It was an adjustment at first with the heat and dusty roads but after a few days it felt fairly easy. We loved that we could walk 2km in with either direction and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Playa Negra and Playa Avellanas and the shops and restaurants in those areas. Or that we could walk just 300m down the road to Playa Lagartillo if we didn’t want to walk that day. Despite what we read beforehand about playa lagartillo, it does have decent places for swimming and enjoying the water. There are spots without rocks on the larger span of the beach where the waves and tide is not too strong so ideal for kids and families. And it’s a very quiet beach with beautiful sunsets. It was very helpful to have the local deliveries of fresh fruit and veggies, German bakery, fish, and chicken and eggs on various days of the week. We would definitely come back again!

My family of 5 had an amazing time here! Our three boys (16, 13, and 8) loved the house, the pool, and the great vibe here. The house and surroundings are even better than the pictures, which is saying something since the pictures made it look like paradise. Monica was extremely responsive—more so than any host I’ve ever dealt with previously. They have everything you could possibly need for your stay. The area is gorgeous and Playa Grande is a cute town with great restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the second year in a row we have stayed here. It is super cute and perfect for my family. The pool is fabulous. The house is about a 25-minute drive to Tamirindo. The location is perfect to keep you out of the hustle and bustle of the touristy town. The howler monkeys hung out in the trees surrounding the property. There are restaurants and small stores close by if you need anything. You will need a car in this area to get around, and note that if you take the "back road," it is a very rough ride but quite the adventure. But if you take the main road through Paraiso, it is super smooth and simple. This is a great place to stay. We have always felt safe and secure. We will be back.

We had an incredible time at this property. The photos do not do it justice. Views for days, comfortable living area, three new king beds and a well-appointed kitchen. Extra bonus of having filtered water and ice in the fridge. The outside area is incredible and you can have shade/sun/pool all day. The A/C works well to cool the house and keep it very comfortable. At this property you are a short drive from playa conchal, Tamarindo and other local beaches (Flamingo, Brasilato). There is a grocery store close by with basics and a larger one a few minutes further, there is a gym and a fruit/veg stand as well. We spent our mornings lounging on the deck and in the pool, our afternoons & evenings exploring and our nights watching a movie or listening to the monkeys on the deck. We saw butterflies, dragonflies, birds and lizards, heard monkeys and watched a tree full of parrots. We drove in the wrong side when we arrived, so be sure to come in the main gate.

Everything you expect. Great home, great host. Very clean, nice pool. Excellent communication. Only the surf teacher that was recomended wasn’t that good but that’s not on the host in my opinion.

Patricia’s home was precisely what our group was looking for in Costa Rica—spacious enough for 9 people (including two couples), private and safe, full of amenities look cooking supplies, and responsive hosts. Patricia and Susan were more responsive than any host I’ve ever stayed with. They messaged us on Airbnb and other apps for ease of communication, and check-in, which was a breeze, included a tour with the property manager. They also connected us with the most trustworthy, affordable, high-quality transportation and tour company. The property was safe, well air conditioned, comfortable, and easily accessible. If our group finds ourselves in Guanacaste again, we’d love to return to Casa Bella Tortuga once more. You made my partner’s birthday and PhD graduation celebrations all the more special. Thank you!

This is the best place to stay in the best place in Costa Rica. We had a great time surfing, eating, sitting by the pool, watching wildlife, and doing little else. We stayed 10 days and would have been happy to stay longer. The apartment is super comfortable, very pretty in the tree tops with the monkeys, and easy to feel like you’re right at home. David was an excellent host who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we need. Avellanas is a sleepy town that has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Excellent restaurants and a beautiful untouched beach. Visit soon before it gets too developed.

Awesome property with a spectacular view. Photos don’t do it justice. Preston was a great host who was very responsive and offered great insight to the area. We will definitely return again. The house and grounds exceeded everyone’s expectations. The villa is very large with plenty of room for 7 adults.

If you are looking for a unique Costa Rican experience, this is the place for you. The house backs up to a rainforest, where you will enjoy indoor/outdoor living, encounter Howler monkeys swinging from the trees, birds chirping, the sound of rain falling against the leaves. And yes there were a few critters, but that was to be expected, especially since we visiting during the beginning of the rainy season. The beds are cozy and the house is less than 10 minutes from town, the beach, restaurants and shopping. David was responsive and made great recommendations. Our experience was definitely memorable.

LIM Villas was a great place to stay, very peaceful and close to an incredible beach. We enjoyed many sunsets and beach walks and also fell in love with BernarDos and their incredible staff<3 Isis and Carlos were super helpful with recommendations and very responsive to any questions or needs we had. We had no issues with directions, everything was very clearly communicated. The layout of this little villa was great and the outdoor shower and pool were a perfect addition! We also spent time in the mornings listening to and watching the howler monkeys frolic in the the big beautiful guanacaste tree. Don't forget your binoculars, there is so much to look at:) We felt very safe and comfortable, would definitely go back. Thank you for everything!

This place is AMAZING! We came here on our honeymoon and were blown away by the beautiful surroundings and the attentiveness of the hosts. The breakfast provided was so nice, and felt like a feast! Even more enjoyable sitting and eating the meal in their outdoor common area, you truly feel like you’re just sitting on a mountain. It was lovely getting to know the hosts. They provided us with fun recommendations on things to do. We drove down off the mountain one of the days and took surf lessons in Samara! One evening we drove about 15 minutes down the road to eat dinner at Restaurante Teosinte (highly recommend checking that out while you’re in the area). Be sure to pay attention to their specific instructions on how to get there, those were very helpful. Especially having a 4x4 is very necessary. The hosts have created a fantastic stay in the mountains of Costa Rica and I’m so grateful they did and offer it available to be enjoyed by others! 10,000x recommend this place!

The host was very responsive with suggestions for my teenaged son to enjoy local surfing areas and options for local places to eat (Lola's and Tiki Hut are fabulous!)

I loved the container house! We went to rest with my partner and two dogs and it was amazing. I loved the pool and the deck too much. And I was fascinated by many details of the house, such as kitchen tiles, bathroom, sliding doors. Beautiful quiet place to enjoy and/or rest. I wanted to stay longer, so we'll definitely be back!

Giselle was such a wonderful host! She was always there if we needed anything, and her place is magnificent! She gave me some helpful composting tips as well! Ha ha, freeze your compost! We took Yoga together, she is such a joy and sweet woman with a rental unit that was perfectly described, and exactly like the photos! We slept like angels and had a wonderful stay. Marbella had the best restaurants around with the friendliest community and people! Thanks so much

Edwin's place is great. there are always great neighbors and the town is beautiful. the beach is about a 3 minute walk and it's amazing for sunsets and just hanging out. nice to have laundry facilities on site. had everything I needed in the kitchen. overall a great stay and I'll be back!

Spending my 50th birthday here was magical—truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Krista and Guido go above and beyond to ensure guests feel at home. The house sits atop a mountain with stunning views of the valley and ocean. Each evening, we were serenaded by thousands of birds—pure magic. I spent hours in the hammock listening to nature and unwinding. The bed linens and pillows were exceptional—a rare treat in CR. Thoughtful touches like organic coffee, honey, and pantry staples made cooking a breeze. The pool was spectacular, surrounded by fragrant flowers. We explored Nosara and Samara for beaches and great food. Meeting the hosts and sharing our love for Costa Rica—having moved here a year ago—was a highlight. The on-site waterfall was the cherry on top.

Mark's place has a really nice atmosphere, quiet, far from any kind of noise. It also feels like you have your own beach :D the kitchen was fully equipped. The location to other beaches were convenient by car. Mark was very responsive whenever we contacted him! thanks for everything!
