Birkwood Cottage at Symington

Idiotic location close to amenities. The cottage was private and ideal for dogs. Fiona, met us on arrival and helped us unload the car. All that is described on the website is accurate and true. We had a great stay and look forward to the next time.

The Railway Sleeper

My favourite Air BnB i have stayed in so far. It is newly opened so everything is fresh and new, however it is on an existing bed and breakfast space which has a beautiful garden which is well maintained and the inn itself is well looked after, the leads me to believe even after it has been open for some time, Alan will keep the place well looked after. The host, Alan, was a lovely gentleman, you can tell he cares for his business and enjoys hosting, on arrival he gave us local recommendations for food and even the best way to travel in to Edinburgh. During our stay in the separate building to the inn we felt we had our own private space, the hot tub is located on the opposite side to the inn, so you are private to other guests in the separate building. 5/5 starts for everything! Thank you Alan for being a fabulous host

Garden Cottage

KimberlyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This lovely cabin ticked all the boxes required to suit 7 adults from families coming together from afar, different generations, and physical abilities. Spacious yet cozy. The conservatory table was perfect for hysterical games of UNO while the weather dazzled us with its fickle self outside the giant windows, shifting from glorious rainbows over the hills, thunderous rain, and sparkling sunrises. Walks from the cabin were enjoyed by everyone. A Park and Ride into Edinburgh and a short drive to Peebles made days out easy. We had an unexpected plumbing issue and it was sorted out immediately while we were out. All said they slept well and the shower pressure/supply of hot water is fantastic. Underfloor heating is great. would happily stay again!

Arts and crafts cottage

Really lovely cottage, in a lovely part of the world. We managed to make the most of the facilities in our four days. The grounds and setting are really lovely and give the impression of being really remote, although in reality you are 5 mins from the local town by car. This was a very spacious, comfortable and well equipped place to stay and acted as a really good base for exploring the county. Abbotsford, Peebles and Traquair House were all highlights for us and were handy by road. Recommend The Crown in Biggar for dinner and drinks, and then home to a roaring fire in the log burner. Reasonable access to nearby charge spots if you are EV users like us. Excellent hosts with an excellent property!

Loganlea Cabin, Cairns Farm, Kirknewton

ElizabethRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Had a lovely stay in the quiet and scenic environment, the pubs recommended in the welcome book were a nice touch as we didn’t know where to try once we arrived, we tried the kinleith inn and we were pleasantly surprised. It was a lovely quiet retreat to escape the liveliness of the main city which is what we were looking for. The cabin was beautiful, the bed was so comfy, the bathroom was clean but watch the door as people over 5’2 will need to take notice of the ‘mind your head’ signs to avoid a headache. The tea and coffee, biscuits and orange juice hamper was a nice surprise. We would definitely come back and stay again. 5*stay would definitely recommend.
