Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Lake Anna

This is a family friendly place to stay with little ones! Lois did a great job at making sure we had what we needed for the little ones, including baby gates, a pac n play and a high chair!

We stayed here with some friends and all our small kids. The place was really clean and had all we needed - the kitchen was stocked with all the tools and basics you need for cooking, the property had plenty of space for the kids to play, the downstairs kept the kids occupied in the mornings, and there is a really nice dock to fish. Perhaps the best part was the ability to rent a boat directly from the owners for the weekend - we had an absolute blast doing this. Overall, this place was a great find, and a rare occurrence where i'd like to stay there again instead of trying something new (I usually don't prefer repeat rentals). The checkout procedure included doing the dishes, but the place has a dishwasher so it was ok, and checkout was at 11AM which is optimal. The house is clearly getting intermittent updates and upgrades, and feels very well taken care of and updated. Our only issue was with the outdoor video cameras which were monitored as we were staying at the place.

The property is brilliantly located, right on the lake. The Dock House was a perfect place to hang out and read, fish, watch T.V. and socialize. We especially liked that the home had sleeping amenities on all three floors, and private bathrooms. The downstairs area provided a perfect space for the kids to play games, and bunk up in bunk bed room. Lastly, the appliances were top of the line, the stove, oven, washer/dryer etc..

Peaceful and then some. The house is located on a quiet dead end street…perfect for walking your 4-legged friend. Once inside the covered breezeway, make your way through the door and you’re greeted by a well appointed kitchen with plenty of room to prepare meals. From there you enter the dining and living room areas with plenty of seating. Hidden on this level of the house is a master bedroom with en-suite bath. Take a trip up via the spiral staircase and you will find 3 more bedrooms and another full bath. Head back downstairs to the main level and you will be met with the showstopper…the outdoor area. There’s an expansive deck with a large table and chairs plus deep seating for an evening relaxing while looking over the lake. A short stroll away lies the pier and all the water toys. We enjoyed the paddle boat and the canoe very much.

We (2 adults + 2 dogs) went for Thanksgiving week; we basically had Lake Anna to ourselves -- minus 2 of Mary's wonderful neighbors. The expansive property has tons of room for dogs to run, and the two neighbors we met had friendly dogs. Humans will love the firepit, screened porch, comfy outdoor, furniture, TV, bbq grill & smoker. Inside, there's TONS of room. The beds are comfortable & bedrooms are spacious, plus there are 2 full baths (1 w/tub), and a beautiful "French country" kitchen with which my wife fell in love. The kitchen had everything you'd expect/need and more like tons of spices, plenty of boxed/canned foods, a waffle maker, a Keurig w/pods, etc. We remarked numerous times how wonderful it was to have all this at hand (compared to other places we've stayed). There are toys for kids and dogs, a canoe, plenty of board games, and several TVs. It was a perfect, peaceful, and stress-free stay in a wonderful home; we'd choose it again without hesitation. This place is great! Melissa was very responsive and helpful. There are activities to do in the house and at the water, and the location was wonderful.

Loved our family time here! House was spacious and had everything we needed from the pack n play and kayaks to an easy boat rental. Alisha was always super responsive and friendly and very easy to book with. We wish we could have stayed longer!

The house was great! It had everything we needed to enjoy the long weekend. I would suggest packing water shoes for the little ones. We did not and left with a couple cuts but nothing serious.

Very secluded location. Beautiful outside sitting area that backs to the trees. 2 bedrooms that are on opposite sides of the apartment that allows privacy for both rooms. Full kitchen area and TV in sitting area

We had the pleasure of staying at this Airbnb over Thanksgiving, and it was a truly delightful experience! While the property is about 8-10 minutes off the main highway, the peaceful and serene surroundings made it worth it—exactly the escape we needed. The house was immaculately clean, with every detail thoughtfully prepared. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed to cook our holiday meal, the bathroom and bedding were spotless, and everything felt so comfortable. The thoughtful welcome basket filled with snacks and the fridge stocked with water were such kind touches, showing how much care the host puts into making her guests feel at home. Communication was exceptional. The host was incredibly responsive and kind, answering any questions quickly. By the end of our stay, the property truly felt like home—warm, inviting, and cozy. She even made the effort to meet us as we were leaving, adding a heartfelt touch to our experience. I can’t recommend this place enough.

I’ve stayed in over 40 airbnbs and this was one of my favorites! Incredibly cozy, well decorated, had every amenity you could possibly need, private, quiet, and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here - you’ll be more than pleasantly surprised by your stay!

I enjoyed my time staying and working in Mineral, VA. This cozy little spot was everything I needed to be comfortable and warm during my stay.

John was a wonderful host. His home was in pristine condition. The property was very peaceful and the land was beautiful. I’m planning to travel frequently to Virginia and this will be my first choice. Phenomenal experience!

The house was perfect for our stay. There were plenty of restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The beds and linens made for a restful night sleep after a busy day.

House was beautiful, well stocked, clean, and comfortable. The beds were especially cozy. All as advertised. Really appreciated that the front yard was fenced in so it was extra easy to have a dog here. Jeremie and Joelle were very responsive and helpful for a few questions we had, and for working to address one minor issue that came up during our stay. Great find!

Nice Cabin. Super close to a food lion which was great for essentials. Host was very helpful with her direct instructions on how and where to enter the cabin and how to get there via alternative directions needed instead of the maps route. The game room downstairs was cool with the pool table as well.

Our stay at The Cozy Bear Cabin was so enjoyable and relaxing! Jessica was super friendly and responsive right from the start. The cabin was very cozy and comfy. It was quite charming, well stocked, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the scenery and the peacefulness of the lake and its surroundings. The weather was so nice that we had our meals at the table on the deck. Our family went canoeing for the first time and had a blast! It was really nice that there was a multitude of sizes of life jackets in the boathouse and a refrigerator in the Tiki bar/kitchenette. We loved sitting in the Adirondack Rockers while watching our kids use the paddle boards. A lot of fun memories were made and will be cherished forever. Thank you Jessica, for making our time at your lovely home such a memorable one!

We were in town for a local triathlon and stayed at Ali's house for the weekend -- it was spacious, clean, and well-furnished. The fire-pit outside was perfect for a relaxing evening. We also loved the personal touches like local recommendations and a card wishing us luck in the race and a wonderful weekend! We reached out several times through the weekend with questions and updates and Ali was extremely responsive. While cars do require parking passes, the instructions were very clear and the staff members at the gate were super welcoming and helpful in getting passes for everyone. Overall, we had a great time!

We were visiting family and sadly didn’t take advantage of many amenities but there was plenty to choose from! We were given info on activities for the week. The security and the receptionists were wonderful! We enjoy the lovely setting and our cabin, especially the hot tub. I want to come back again when we can explore more of what Wilderness Park has to offer. We will be back! Thank you!

We enjoyed a little staycation with our family of two teens and dog. We enjoyed walking to the dog park, checking out the lake and walking around the wooded neighborhood. The fire in the back with cornhole was enjoyed by all. The house was clean and comfortable.
