Holiday rentals with a fireplace in KwaZulu-Natal

This was our third time staying at this incredibly charming farmhouse, and once again, it did not disappoint. The property is as beautiful and welcoming as ever, with lush gardens, cozy fireplaces, and more than enough space for everyone to relax and feel comfortable. The location is ideal—peaceful and tucked away, yet so close to all our favorite Midlands gems like Fables, Blueberry Café, Terbodore Coffee Roasters, and The Salt Slab. Whether we were out exploring or simply enjoying the serenity of the farmhouse, it was the perfect long weekend escape. Victoria is a wonderful host—always kind and communicative—and the housekeeper is equally fantastic. Everything is spotless and well cared for, and there’s a real sense of warmth and hospitality throughout the home. This place truly feels like a home away from home. We already can’t wait for our next stay!

We had an unforgettable stay at the Thatch House in Hilton! This home is nothing short of magnificent—modern, stylish, and perfectly tucked away to create a peaceful escape. It's the ideal hideaway to enjoy with both family and friends. The attention to detail in the decor and amenities made everything feel luxurious yet cozy. From relaxing mornings on the veranda to evenings by the fireplace, every moment felt special. The surrounding nature adds to the charm, making it a true retreat from the hustle of everyday life. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful space to reconnect and unwind. We can’t wait to return!

Such a lovely spot! It exceeded our expectations. We stayed 2 nights with our little Staffie - such a big yard for him to run around in. Loved that it was fenced off so we could just relax knowing he wasn’t wondering off. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone

Zebra View lodge was very well designed and comfortably furnished. Cathkin Estate is a peaceful and private estate with an incredible view of the Drakensberg. Security at the gate were very friendly and helpful. Local amenities and the berg itself were all close. All in all, a wonderful long weekend with family that we hope to repeat.

The place was absolutely stunning. Exactly as the pictures. Cleaning service and support staff were great. The road the get there is extremely bumpy.

This spot is the best and ideal for kids. From the big wrap around veranda, beautiful garden and big lawn (perfect for kiddies cricket and rugby matches) to the beach right on your doorstep, you can unwind, enjoy being outdoors and watch the kids living their best lives. We will definitely be back!

Chantelle was a wonderful host,very accommodating and helpful. Checked in with us regularly to see if we needed anything. Complex very secure and the beautiful sea view made for a wonderful stay. Will defenitely come back.

Elmarie’s unit at Eden Dunes is a great place to stay. Scenic views of the ocean, great location, all you need within walking distance and sunshine gleaming through your windows every morning. Highly recommended if you want a peaceful getaway by the coast. 🌅

The photos looked interesting and the reviews were fantastically positive - then the reality? Absolutely splendid! 10/10 - minus nothing! We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was spotless, cozy, private, safe, and secluded, with thoughtful touches throughout. Everything we needed (and more) was provided. Michelle was incredibly attentive, offering great advice and quick responses, and Vincent and Nadia were so kind helping us when we got stuck in the mud. Such warm, welcoming hosts. Thank you for an unforgettable getaway - we’ll definitely be back!

We had a great stay at Elsabe's cottage. A very peaceful location with great walks close by. Everything was as described and we look forward to returning sometime.

what a amazing time at Dawn's place it is just as the pictures portray the place u can just walk to to beach but I recommend pedington beach it is a small drive but worth it for swimming while the beach by the house is amazing for walks and sandcastles

We had a wonderful stay at Conrad’s home in Cathkin Park. The house is beautifully appointed, with thoughtful touches throughout that made our stay extremely comfortable. From the well-equipped kitchen to the cozy living spaces and stunning views, everything was perfectly in place for a relaxing getaway. Communication was smooth and responsive, and the peaceful surroundings made it an ideal escape. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

The location was good, the house was jolly good, Essy was mega helpful, the facilities were fine, the grounds were delightful, the cottage next to the house was a pleasure, the gates worked well, and it was a decent place to stay. I thought it was useful value for the money. Before you arrive though you need to find a contact WhatsUp number because Roger was in Canada and the intercom at the gate didn't function. But that was a small thing. I'd be happy to go back again.

I don't think any review I write could accurate convey what a SPECTACULAR property this is. Stunning scenery, animal sightings from the house and poolside, great recommendations for local activities (Do the incredible elephant interaction!), game drives, the spotless house and rooms and your EVERY need catered for. Then there is the staff that went above and beyond. So warm and welcoming, proactive and professional. Jubs, Li, Zi, and Sipho made us feel like family. I cannot express just how well they took care of our every need and the fun we all had. We will be back!
