Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kern River

We stayed here for a few days while exploring the Sequoia National Park. The home was easy to get into and was nicely clean. The living room was spacious and warm, allowing it to be a nice center point for relaxing and hanging out. The appliances like the washer, dryer, fridge, and dish washer worked perfectly. The hot tub was also a very nice addition, be sure to read the provided instructions, especially if you are unfamiliar with hot tubs. Water was consistent and high pressure. The neighborhood was very welcoming and overall quiet. Would definitely book again if in the area.

Wonderful stay! We used the property as a base for exploring the local national parks - very convenient location! The property/house was clean - we notice small things and think the cleaning crew does a good job. It is rare today that online pictures accurately display the current condition of a property, but all online pictures are very representative of the property! Obviously the pool/hot tub were amazing, especially upon return from a day of hiking, the afternoon heat of California and with kids! Perfect dwelling for a young outdoor family looking for a resort like feel at a fraction of the price! Furthermore, the privacy and quietness of the location will best any other place in town. Excellent stay and the hosts are very responsive, often immediately responsive, and offered great recommendations. Overall, great property, location and value.

Great Airbnb. Everything was as described with the exception of the hot tub which was not in service when we arrived. Besides that this a big spacious airbnb, very good for big groups

Ava is very responsive and proactive about communications about the house. The place is spacious and clean. Long ways to gas and food and Pine Flat is very isolated. Surprisingly number of houses for so little services. If you’re looking for a jump-off spot to some sequoias or are in town for work like us, this is a great option.

Wow! What a great place! The indoor pool was the best. It was so hot outside so being able to swim without sun and UV exposure was absolutely amazing. I have already recommended this place to friends for future adventures. ❤️

The Sleepy Racoon Cabin is a small, simple house in an incredibly beautiful and peaceful setting. A wild turkey was often nearby. So many birds - a joy to watch - flocked to the feeders. There were quail and lizards - we loved it! Convenient to King's Canyon, it made a great home base for our exploration of the park. Kim's hospitality was truly wonderful. She was there to welcome us, answer questions, and she made us feel welcome and at home. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat - if you want to spend time in Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park - the Sleepy Racoon is a great place to be.

With just my husband and I staying at the cabin, it provided enough space for four comfortably. We choose the left bedroom where the plushiest queen bed awaited us. Best sleep we’ve had in months! The kitchen area was spacious and allowed for comfortable cooking and dining. We utilized the bbq grill and large deck for dinner and relaxation during our stay. The highlight of the cabin is the large creek on the back side of the property. The water was cool to touch with a nice sandy bottom, so there was no need for water shoes. It is kid friendly as the water doesn’t go much deeper than your legs at some points. It was a slice of heaven staying at the Shirley Creek Retreat. There’s just as much to do outside the cabin as there is in. Sharon was gracious enough to provide a list of outdoor activities in the surrounding towns of Wofford Heights that we took advantage of, including walking the Trail of 100 Giants about an hour drive north of the property.

Great location and a lot of privacy. It was peaceful and extremely close to the entrance of sequoia national park. Will definitely stay here again

If you want to stay in the peace and quiet of beautiful nature, but you don’t want to sacrifice your personal comfort, this is a great option for you! John’s place was family-friendly, kid-friendly and dog-friendly! We truly loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others and return. Thank you John!

We first stayed at this cabin in January 2019 and I’ve been wanting to revisit ever since. I cannot believe somehow 6 years passed! Our second visit over this weekend was even better than the first and the cabin was just as charming and cozy as I remember it. The beds are really comfy, and the lack of solid cell service makes it a perfect place to disconnect and enjoy the huge DVD, VHS, and record collection, Thanks so much, Niel! Can’t wait to visit again.

My family enjoyed the stay. My two dogs had plenty of space. Very private and enjoyable.

We came back for a second stay and, just like last year, had a great time. The place has a special charm - it's set on a citrus ranch with peacocks, dogs, cats, and birds all around, so it's definitely lively, but in a really fun and unique way. It adds a lot to the atmosphere. We also enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit in the evening. The hosts are thoughtful and make sure everything is comfortable.

Arriving & staying at Joanie's place is like entering Garden of Eden. Just seeing the wide smile & "ohh-ahh" from my parents who are visiting from a city country, they couldn't believe their eyes seeing real oranges on the trees!! Thanks Joanie! for making this the most memorable experience for my parents !! Bestest of Hostess !

The place, the people, the atmosphere, was absolutely perfect. If there was something I needed it was figured out within minutes and yet I felt that I had all the privacy that I needed. It was quiet and VERY clean. It was beautiful and open, and I was completely in my own surroundings and still felt comfortable to come and go as I please. This is a place for families, or couples without children, or elderly couples there’s something for all family situations. you cannot go wrong with this place Robert, Sarah, and Grace have nailed it as hosts

Lilly and Jon are great hosts. Their ranch is absolutely stunning and something very special to experience. The nearby rolling hills and animals that you can interact with are priceless on their own. The amount of space you get is well worth the money. There is a bedroom with a king bed, entirely separate living room that has a sofa sleeper, coffee bar, and large bathroom. There is also an outdoor kitchen area that has more than you need for a short stay. I used to clean hotels and have a high standard of what clean looks like and I can honestly say I’ve never stayed somewhere that felt so clean which I was not expecting for a ranch stay. Looking forward to finding time to go back for another stay!

We loved the location, which is within 3 miles of Sequoia National Park entrance. The pool area had a child protection gate/fence around it, which really put our minds at ease. The balcony views were lovely! Really loved the interesting art work as well!

This place was what I was looking for, disconnecting myself from the rest of the world for a weekend. My family really enjoyed the stay so much that they wanted to stay longer. The host such a nice lady always greeted us with a smile. Hope I can come back soon. Thank you Michal sorry my daughter still some these juicy great fruit of yours she loves fruits.

The house was perfect for our extended family to stay together for my daughter’s wedding. The layout was terrific; we all had our own space. My son and granddaughter had time to enjoy the pool and the clubhouse restaurant was within walking distance for a hot breakfast. The house and some items are dated, but everything was clean and adequately supplied.
