It was an unforgetable stay. Yuya home is a dream in the full nature of shirekoto. Yuya is very responsive and friendly. The house is beautifull, very comfortable and well equiped.. it is close to all famous sites of shiretoko. Thank you very much Yuya!

6 people stayed in June.The location was very beautiful, the cottage was kept clean and I was able to relax! There are many insects because it is in nature, but there are almost none in the house, and insecticides are also provided, so I think you can spend your time with peace of mind.

Nori’s place was very clean, well laid out, well stocked and extremely organised! The views of Mount Fuji from Lake Yamanakako were to die for.. Nori was prompt, respectful and responsive. The complimentary fruits and pre-warmed accommodation were well received and appreciated by my family. It was a pleasure to stay here, so close to the lake, free from the throngs of tourists; a must stay! Watch Mount Fuji from the privacy of your own spa!

The house is old Okinawan style, well maintained and nicely decorated. Rey is very environmentally concerned, which felt like a relief after almost a year spent in Tokyo. Finally Iriomote is wild and beautiful, a place where you can reconnect with Nature, its sounds and rhythm. I wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back! Ps: We were there with 2 kids of 10 and 8yo, who loved the house which felt like a cabin.

We loved the authentic Japanese feel of this house in the woods. We used the irori (hearth) to cook a lamb stew, which was an unforgettable experience. We were also able to walk to the nearby onsen which also has a restaurant/cafe. This is an excellent base from which to explore Asahidake and Sounkyo. The town of Kamikawa is also worth exploring.

We enjoyed it very much, we would receive super warmly, were able to get into the house earlier, the breakfast is very tasty. We felt right at home. We got dinner from Kaoru twice and enjoyed a lot! As an experience, this is highly recommended! Kaoru is a great cook and host and has a very nice family that we were also allowed to meet. What was great was that she gave us a lot of recommendations for things to do in the area, we were able to benefit from it. This will certainly not have been our last time at this property!

Very quiet location, which exactly met my expectations. Beach right in front of the house (but would have to be cleaned).

Perfect for families: plenty of space filled with toys and a bunk bed decorated as a boat. Large dining table, and kitchen with all the essentials to cook with. Two large bedrooms that were comfortable and clean. Large parking space. Located in a very quiet neighbourhood by the beach. Cute coffee shops just a few minutes away (89 Coffee and Margiche Coffee x Bagel), and a couple of restaurants. Also equipped with an umbrella, cooler, and toys for your trips to the beaches on the island. Owner responds within minutes. Would rent again for our next trip!

The owner was very kind and polite, and provided a proper amount of strawberries and beer for free, the room was neat and had a small stone bathtub, and it was very nice to come back after skiing, it was very nice, the room, restroom, sleeping room, etc. were warm, the room price was also fair, we would stay in this accommodation again, thank you Ittoku for the hospitality!

I stayed with my 3-year-old child, and there were many toys, so we had a lot of fun. There is also a place like a private beach nearby, and I was able to relax.

Great for a weekends with friends. The place was peaceful and private, relaxing with a great view. The big onsen like bath tub was great!

We enjoyed our stay here, a little piece of rural Japan in a typical Japanese home, next to bamboo forest and rice fields. We were treated to seeing Mount Fuji on our first morning and the walk into Fujionmiya was lovely along the river. Plenty to do there and the Mt. Fuji visitor centre is a treat! Hoshiyama was a perfect host, very welcoming and helpful if you need anything. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our 4 nights here. The room was so tastefully decorated and very well kitted-out with everything we needed. We enjoyed being able to stay home and cook on the portable bbq and pizza oven instead of having to go out for food for a change too. We had a car so it was a very convenient location from which to explore the capes and beaches on either side, plus a trip into Shimoda. Only downside was the outside furniture which was not comfortable for relaxing in (Cape Cod chairs) so we spent more time inside than I would have preferred. Hopefully that can be improved. Would definitely stay here again.

The host's polite service and the beautiful and warm atmosphere make it the perfect place to rest your mind and body A night wrapped in the scent of wood and organic futon, listening to the sounds of nature A simple yet delicious handmade breakfast with carefully selected ingredients, filling the heart in the morning It is a wonderful place that makes you want to come back to Kochi again.

great place to experience rural japan. the house is quiet and well equipment for a peaceful stay in the country side. Although we did not managed to see the stars due to cloudy conditions, we had a great time. Spending time outdoors and having open space is a welcome change from the busy streets of japanese towns. We appreciate the clean and comfortable house of our host and look forward to visiting again.
