Was greeted by host and she was really friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mele Lani. There was plenty of space for all of us to enjoy our time together as well as have our own sleeping areas. One thing to know that is not listed in the main description is that many homes in this part of the island are on catchment systems. The water at Mele Lani is filtered and uv-treated, but if you do not want to drink it, you can also get free water from a nearby municipal water station. I think it would be worthwhile to make this a note in the main description of the Airbnb. This Airbnb is well-stocked with supplies in the bathroom, extra linens, etc. and had a great kitchen where we enjoyed cooking all our own breakfasts. The beds were comfortable, and the building was well temperature-regulated using either windows or AC. One bedroom was missing a screen in its window, and I think it would be nice to have this fixed so both bedrooms can enjoy the fresh air. Overall we had a great time and would absolutely stay here again.

Had a fantastic time here. Perfect spot if you like quiet and relaxation. Lots of space and amenities. Close to Hilo and the volcano. Fantastic hosts. Very helpful with lots of tips and info. Very responsive. We're particularly helpful during our arrival day due to a missed connection in Honolulu. Very much appreciated waiting up so late and info sent. Thank you. We will be back.

First time staying at a bed and breakfast! The hosts were away unfortunately but their friend Anthony was incredibly friendly and helpful. Communication with Stephen and Su was fantastic, very quick to message back. Amazing to be able to walk to the beach. And very close to drive into Hilo for meals and groceries. Luckily we were still close enough to race to Kīlauea to watch episode 23!!!! Mind blowing experience. Thank you so much for opening a part of your home to us. Trip if a lifetime! Merlinda’s farm was the perfect mix of peaceful, calm and quiet with the benefit of being close to all of the beaches, hiking and restaurants in Hilo and other areas I could want. Her home is exactly as described, spacious and well appointed. Merlinda was a perfect host, both very communicative and also gave me space to just chill. An added bonus was that there was fruit growing from almost every tree/plant on the property and Merlinda was so generous in showing me around and allowing me to taste them! I highly recommend staying here and I look forward to coming back again! This stay was the perfect Aloha experience!

A charming unit conveniently located near downtown Hilo, but tucked in a quiet neighborhood. Rachel was very friendly and accommodating along with Abby and her four-legged friends. The house itself was simple with everything you need. The natural air and fans provided more than enough of coolness throughout the night. The backyard space was a perfect way to start off my mornings with a cup of coffee. Mahalo Rachel for your hospitality! A hui hou!

We had a fantastic stay at Linda’s air bnb. It was super close to Volcano National Park. Very spacious, could easily fit 5 or so people. Had everything you need in the rooms. We did have a little trouble unlocking the front door on arrival, but if you just pull the front door closer to you it will be easier to unlock with the key. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and would stay here again.

This was my first time using Airbnb, so I was a bit nervous at first. However, Dennis was very kind and always responded quickly to any questions I had during my stay, which helped me feel safe and comfortable. The room was clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything I needed for daily use, making my stay very pleasant. I would definitely love to stay here again if I have the chance. Place was just as advertised. Beautiful view of ocean from cliff with surfers every day! No AC but none needed. Two fans are provided if you like. Ocean sounds and frogs lull you to sleep, birds and sunrise greet you in the morning. Close to Hilo downtown area. Bathroom nice with plenty of hot water and amenities. Would stay there again if I visit Hilo again!

Thank you Melissa for sharing your beautiful 5 star home. This home is immaculate! I can’t say enough about the furnishings, views, privacy, cleanleness and the pool. We loved sitting back and enjoying the ocean views. We did enjoy the last day by the pool, reading, and taking a nice refreshing swim. It was a great way to end a long vacation. The recommendations for food and things to do were helpful. The beaches are gorgeous and low key. We will be back to visit Hilo and when we do, Melissa’s place is where we will stay.

The property has beautiful landscaping that gives off a resort look. The living room is very spacious with a couch that has a pull out queen bed with additional bedding located in the storage ottoman bench in the room. The king bed was so comfortable and the ceiling fans kept us very cool at night. The kitchenette has everything you need to cook a meal, electric stovetop, pots, pans, tea kettle etc. The pool is clean and lounge chairs were great for laying out to tan. It’s a pretty new unit so everything was new and clean. It was a relaxing and comfortable stay. Highly recommended!!

This was one of the best AirBnB experiences I’ve had. The place is beautifully decorated and the location is peaceful and relaxing. It had all needed amenities and then some. Being a native Puertorican, I 100% enjoyed listening to the Coqui frogs sing at night. Hidden gem in Pāhoa. Would highly recommend.

Loved staying at the lotus house. The private pool was awesome. We swam every night after being out for the day. If you read other reviews about the sheriff being called on visitors for non issues. That is no longer a problem as that neighbor has moved.

Amazing airbnb! We stayed for 6 nights and absolutely loved it. Rachel truly thought of everything a traveller may need. By far, this airbnb exceeded my expectations. The bed was amazing and despite not having AC, we felt very comfortable at night with just the fan. The two dogs and one fluffy black kitty were so amazing and cute. Very loving and difficult to leave because of them. I will miss this place, especially the pets! Mahalo to Rachel for this amazing place 🐈‍⬛🐶🐾🏝️

We really enjoyed our stay! Eric and Joli were wonderful hosts, always quick to respond to any questions we had. The place is beautifully quiet with a lovely garden, yet still conveniently located near both Volcano and Hilo. (We definitely recommend the Lava Thai food truck nearby!) As mentioned in the listing, there’s no air conditioning, but with the windows open it stays comfortable, especially at night.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hale O Noelani in Pāhoa! The guest suite was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had such a cozy, welcoming vibe. From the thoughtful touches like local snacks, guidebooks, and eco-friendly amenities, to the colorful and peaceful decor, everything made us feel right at home. The space was perfect for a relaxing Big Island getaway, and we enjoyed the quiet, safe neighborhood that was still conveniently located for exploring Hilo, Volcano National Park, and the nearby black sand beaches. Felecia was an outstanding host—warm, responsive, and full of helpful local recommendations. You can tell she really cares about her guests’ comfort and experience. We also appreciated the attention to detail in the suite, like the comfy chairs, vibrant island-inspired art, and the little touches that made the stay special. I would highly recommend Hale O Noelani to anyone visiting the area. It truly felt like a peaceful retreat, and we would happily stay again!

Daryl is a great host! The description of the studio matched what you feel and see when you first enter the unit. Daryl was very prompt in providing instructions and check in information soon after the reservation was confirmed. He also provided very nice local restaurant recommendations when we inquired. The unit was very clean and smelled fresh. The AC provided comfort when the afternoon was hot and the room fans provided great circulation at night when the AC was turned off and we could enjoy the cool breezes in the unit. Daryl’s place was perfect for our needs and budget! We would stay here again if available should we want to stay on the Hilo side of the island

Very friendly and helpful host + very budget-friendly stay = a good value AirBnB experience! I would recommend to anyone who wants to visit this side of the island near Hilo and Volcano, without spending too much. Beds were comfortable, which already makes this place better then many places that are more then double the price. :)

Eleonor is a very wonderful host! One of the best I’ve ever had! Very prompt with response and helpful! Had the chance to speak to her a few times along with her kids! Accommodation had a kettle which is so good considering that most places do not have! Even allowed us to check in early and store our luggage past our check out time! The goats are a fine addition to our stay! Tatami mat was surprisingly comfortable to sleep on! Looking forward to staying here again!

This Airbnb was very clean. We enjoyed our French press coffee in the mornings. It had everything you would need. Beds were comfy and plenty of towels including beach towels. Proximity to town and all the great restaurants is a short walking distance. We really enjoyed Kaleo’s, Ning’s Thai Food, and Pele’s kitchen for breakfast. It’s very centrally located. The sound of the coqui frogs lulled me to sleep. Truly an Hawaiian experience. Matt and his family are wonderful. Matt is very responsive and kind. We had a major flight delay and his wife made us some scones for breakfast. It’s not the Ritz but it’s clean, has good beds and in a great location.

It was a very cute and cozy studio. I loved how easy and very detailed the instructions were to find the place and to get into the house, easy to follow. The space was very clean and well kept. I’d definitely stay here again and the host is very friendly and helpful. Overall 10-10!!
