Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Gulf Islands

We had a wonderful stay! We loved that there are trails accessible by foot from the cabin. (Just walk up the gravel road about 3 minutes.) We discovered that a great morning routine for us was to have coffee, walk through the forest, enjoy the morning light on the ocean, and head back to the cabin for breakfast. Peaceful and relaxing :) Henny is a great host. She shared a ton of wonderful information about places to go and yummy restaurants on the island. The cabin itself is cozy, charming, and quiet. The bed is comfortable, a high priority for me! We also appreciated that we could bring our dog and that she could be off-leash in the grassy area around the cabin.

Lovely house with amazing deck to relax and great views. Erik gave a passionate introduction at the check in that would make you want to stay for much longer. The perfect nature getaway!

Priceless views and amazing architecture are showpieces of this magnificent home that combines coziness, elegance, comfort and rustic charm. We’ve stayed at many airbnbs, but this one is a new favorite. It’s an ideal getaway for the whole family; plus it’s close to interesting hikes and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked for eating at home. We didn’t enjoy the taste of the well water, but bought drinking water at Tru Value. Carley was very responsive and helpful throughout. We would love to come back in the summer.

We spent a few nights here right after our wedding and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. A beautiful cabin, with a light and airy look and feel. We utilized the hot tub, sauna and cold plunge and all were amazing. We hope to come back again soon!

We decided to splurge on an extra nice Airbnb for a local family getaway and staying in Marie’s place was a wonderful treat. Everything is so nicely arranged and Marie is a very friendly and helpful host! I really couldn’t recommend this place any higher! It’s a short drive to Birch Bay restaurants and shops, but honestly the place is so nice you won’t want to leave! The huge windows and deck let you enjoy the beauty of the water throughout your stay whether you’re in the hot tub, enjoying the fire pit or sitting inside watching a video on the big screen. The huge shower was a special treat too! :) Thank you, Marie, for sharing your wonderful home with us!

We had a wonderful here! It was an absolutely beautiful space. We had everything we needed and even things we forgot. It was so relaxing and felt just like home everyday when we returned. Lisa was a great helped us with any of our needs! We would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed a four night stay at Gabrielle’s house. It is a beautiful spacious house with beautiful views over the water. There is a big deck with plenty of seating including a dining set for those warm evenings. There is access to a private dock which is great for fishing. It is up water from the ferry terminal at Long Harbour so there was very little traffic on the water, ideal for fishing or just enjoying the peace and quiet. We even enjoyed a visit from a local deer, grazing quietly on the banking by the garage. The house is clean and has a very well equipped kitchen and ample seating. Bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. In the lounge there were books and guides plus a few games to suit all ages plus pbinoculars to study the wildlife. Food shops, restaurants and other facilities are a 10 minute drive into Ganges and there is a local market on Saturdays with a selection of artisan stalls. Gabrielle was a very responsive host, and easy check in/out Certainly recommend.

Had the most relaxing and peaceful stay at Tanya’s, it felt like a retreat. The garden was beautifully manicured with plants and flowers. It was lovely having morning coffee on the deck overlooking the valley. It’s even more beautiful than the photos. I saw a few deer and bunnies on the property. Bed was cozy and sheets were soft. It had everything you’d need for a great stay. Will definitely come back to stay again in the future. Thank you Tanya!

Well from start to finish this was 5 star accommodation! Exactly as shown except better. This was a true bucket list for initially our parents and then for us as well. Don’t think twice book it!

I had a wonderful stay here. Ginny and Gary were so warm and welcoming, they checked in to see if I needed anything and made sure I felt completely at home. After long days of climbing, it was the perfect place to come back to just as described, if not even better! The surroundings are stunning, and the place has absolutely everything you could want. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a cozy, comfortable, and well-equipped home base. I will definitely be back!

Great location that was very peaceful that overlooked the bay. Rooms had comfortable beds that were well maintained. We will be back.

Linda and Jay's place was outstanding! The special touches and attention to detail made us feel right at home. It's obvious that Linda and Jay put alot of care into making their place as comfortable and inviting as possible for their guest! The gardens are absolutely beautiful! The apartment is pristine and super nice!! Such a beautiful place all around! Enjoyed our stay very much!! Loved the homemade bread! Delicious! We recommend staying here one hundred percent!!

Cozy, peaceful place perfect for couples looking to explore victoria!

A wonderful, fanciful beach cottage, but in the wods, miles from a beach. If you want a quiet place to stay and maybe write or think or look at tree and flowers, thias is it. It's 1/2 mile from the hiighway, and about 10 minutes of open road to all sorts of mall shopping. I could easily picture a week here, not running off to tourist activity, but to hang out and enjoy quiet time.

Stayed for a week in May 2025. Great location, walking distance to inner harbour, miniature world, Chinatown, and great restaurants close by. Perfect for two couples. Outdoor bar across the street gave us some good people watching from the balcony. Used the hot tub and the condo robes were appreciated! Coffee, tea and some kitchen spices were helpful. Condo safety and parking were excellent.

The Inn on the Harbor was a perfect weekend getaway spot. Super clean and comfortable with great water views. Check in was made really easy and Tracey gave great directions ahead of time. Downtown Blaine is very walkable from this spot. We will be back!

The only complaint I have is the bed in the bedroom. Could not sleep on it very squeaky, wiggly, mattress very lumpy.. needs a foam mattress and new frame. It was so uncomfortable. Thank god the couch was comfortable. Hopefully he will replace the bed by the next time I stay.

We really loved our time at the Strand. It was our first extended family road trip with our little one and we couldn’t have asked for a better spot to relax, play, explore and create some lasting family memories. Jenn was personable and prompt in her replies. We really appreciated all the extra touches to make us feel welcome!

This is our second time staying here and definitely not our last! Wonderful, spacious, comfortable condo with walk out access to the beach. So peaceful with the resort a few min walk away with lots of amenities. Beds were very comfy. Can't beat the view! Highly recommend.

We had a really enjoyable stay at the apartment. It's incredibly convenient by foot to all of the downtown area. That means there are tons of really good restaurants, coffee houses and boutiques within a 5-15 minute walk. We walked through Beacon Hill Park down to Dallas Beach in about 30 minutes. Foo, a really low-key Asian fusion place, for instance, was literally 5 minutes away (we got the take out there and it was great). The apartment is great. Fantastic views of the city, the water and the mountains. Very clean and set up really well. We cooked a few meals there and the kitchen is well stocked. Lesley was very responsive and super friendly! She'd respond to messages consistently within 15 minutes. Some of our favorite restaurants were the Blue Fox Cafe for brunch, Union Pacific for coffee & breakfast, Hey Happy for lunch. We had a terrific hike on Saturna Island and also highly recommend going to Botanical Beach (go at low tide for tide pool action)- a 2-hour drive.
