The Hut at Medlands

AndreaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Prime location in Medlands. 2min walk to the beach. 1min drive to local brewery/coffee spot. Loved the layout of the house. Two pods, lounge/kitchen/dining then a two bedroom with bathroom inbetween. Huge deck with beanbags, chairs, outdoor lounge suite & table and chairs. Huge outdoor umbrella that you can move to any spot you like and adjust to sun. Perfect for summer. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you need to cook with, eat with etc. Sunny location - all day sun. Nadia was super efficient with communication and super accommodating. Loved our stay at the hut. Thank you so much.

Great Barrier Island Beach property

LynneRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We loved our stay after being recommended by friends. We also had perfect weather which helped as it was autumn and we enjoyed the luxury of an excellent fire every night. And there was plenty of dry firewood available. We particularly enjoyed the rural, bucolic setting with sheep around the house but also the proximity and views of the private beach. An amazing setting.

Mokoroa Retreat

Very clean for a pet allowed place. A very comfortable, quiet and safe place to stay. Equipped with whatever a guest may need. We were tempted to expand our leaves and stay more. Extremely recommended! Thanks for the great experience.

Bonnydoon - Luxury on the Waterfront

Becks & GaryRating, 5 stars1 month ago
What an absolute gem of a place! Looked even better than the pictures. Jo and Pete were very welcoming hosts. The house is well located with the ferry being just down the road and a handful of eating options within a five minute drive in Tryphena. The linen, the bed, the pillows, the amenities were all fantastic. The house is so incredibly well set up and you don't want for anything. Great fully functioning kitchen had everything you need to cook a meal. It's perfect for two couples, as you each get one of the house with a beautiful shared living space in between. We loved our stay here and would 100% recommend this magical spot and will hopefully return one day soon. The views are obviously amazing... glorious sunsets, but if you don't like to wake up with the sun, maybe bring an sleep mask, as the blinds provide shade only. But we didn't mind that at all. In fact, I rather liked it a lot. Not an ounce of day was wasted. I wish all Airbnb's were this awesome.

'Kiwi As' cosy family Bach

BruceRating, 5 stars3 months ago
The stay at Melanie's bach was wonderful; it is located in a little paradise, and was exactly as described by her. I had a wonderful viewing of the stars and planets in the middle of the Dark Sky Sanctuary, with the assistance of Good Heavans. Food & drink at the nearby brewery was good & casual. Attended the church next door to the bach, and was welcomed by the friendly neighbors.

Kaitoke Beach bach. Newly renovated :)

SimonRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Barrier Island is all about location, location, location and Jo's place certainly has that. The place is at one with the off grid culture that makes the island so special. Jo was one of the more attentive hosts I have ever encountered and went the extra mile on every occasion.

Medlands Bach

JulienneRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We have stayed here before, and would stay here again. Didn’t do any cooking so can’t comment on that but the kitchen looked full of everything you would need. Loved the house design, living area doors open onto lawn where we spent most of our time gazing at the bird life - so many birds! Two minute walk down to the beach, and the night sky is just spectacular. Great weekend

Motu Honey House

NicoleRating, 5 stars3 months ago
What a kind, generous man in a fantastic place. Alan was such a wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble. Staying at his house is a rare opportunity to experience the true Barrier spirit. From the first moment of contacting Alan to the moment we left we could not have asked for more.
