Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Franklin County

This home is a hidden gem in the woods. It is perfect for large families or groups of couples traveling together. The only negative is actually a positive; the house is situated far from markets and restaurants, but if you like privacy and seclusion, this is your perfect retreat.

Mark's High Pocket Bed and Barn was absolutely stunning and cozy. My friends and I stayed while attending a wedding nearby, and were so delighted by the home the minute we walked in. Thoughtful furniture and decoration through out the house, as well as beautiful yard and walking paths that were so nice to explore on a sunny spring day. The home was immaculately clean and well stocked. Mark was very communicative and responsive. We would all very happily stay at this home again!

Our family converged on Shelburne Falls from several faraway places for a nearby college graduation. We rented 5 nights in order to make it a family reunion. This lovely home turned out to be the perfect setting, as it has a large amount of common living space, in several adjacent rooms, so that we could be all together or in smaller groups. We enjoyed meals in the large kitchen, sitting by the fire, short walks to good restaurants and handy grocery stores. We sat on the porch enjoying the garden. The area is quiet and safe. The trains coming through at the bottom of the garden were entertaining, but didn't wake people up because the trains go very slowly through a sunken section and don't honk nearby. The town is delightful, and plenty of hiking and things to do (Clark Art Museum!) nearby. As longtime AirBnBers, what we appreciated most is that this is really a family home, with an attentive host and a helpful neighbor/manager. In other words, AirBnb at its best!

My family had a great weekend in charming Northampton, and Mina’s place was an exceptional home base. This duplex is comfortable, convenient, and impeccably clean, and the co-hosts are attentive and thoughtful.

We had a most magical stay at Brookley’s home: it was immaculate, super comfy, and the grounds are gorgeous. We hosted a special graduation party for my daughter, who graduated from Mt. Holyoke College, and this was the perfect spot. Our hosts were gracious, kind, and incredibly attentive, which made things even more lovely.

We stayed here over 4 nights for UMass graduation. The house is in a small town about a 35 minute drive from UMass, and at least compared to the insane prices of hotel and vacation rental places closer in over graduation weekend, this one was reasonably priced. The area is scenic in the summer and the town has a few restaurants including a very reasonably priced diner and a coffee shop. This was the kind of AirBnB where you feel like you are a guest in someone's home, rather than a something used exclusively for rentals by a corporate entity. The house and bedrooms were comfortable and there was a family room that was a great place to unwind. One of the little things that we greatly appreciated was that there was real half-and-half available in the fridge to go with the coffee (and also non-dairy creamers for people who prefer those). The hosts were responsive, the place was clean, and it was a nice stay.

We had such an excellent stay! The apartment is even better than the photos showed--the view of the lake is beautiful. There are several great hikes in the area. The hosts were responsive and communicative. They even offered the loan of their paddle boat. All in all, I highly recommend staying there.

We stayed at the downtown apartment for two nights. Fabulous location and spacious loft like vibe. If you are looking to walk out the door and enjoy everything Northampton has to offer without having to get in the car, it’s a perfect spot.

Katie and Mike are fabulous hosts! Katie provided helpful information prior to our arrival. Mike helped us pump up a flat bike tire and gave us great tips on area activities. The apartment was very clean and spacious given its size because it's not cluttered. The bed is very comfortable, and everything in the apartment worked well. The pool is lovely! It's shared with the family, but Mike and Katie were very thoughtful about making it accessible to us when their kids weren't in the pool. The house is set in a quiet, rural setting but only 20 minutes from downtown Northampton. I would definitely recommend this spot to other travelers!

We needed a place to stay a couple days for Amherst graduation access, and this worked out perfectly. It was a few minutes from campus, town, and easy to find. Comfy bed and linens, coffee, quality furniture, and squeaky clean. Even though it's connected to the main house, we didn't have any contact with, or hear our host for the weekend. It's a perfect place for a small group, low-key family stay.

A great apt, conveniently located near Northampton. Great restaurant up the street, which host recommended. Pool and hot tub were wonderful, and we had them all to ourselves - the hosts left the back yard to us! Right size apartment for the 2 of us plus our little terrier. Very comfortable king bed, although rooms were a bit crowded with extra daybeds and trundle beds in case of a larger group. Host was very accommodating - even raced to Walmart to get insect repellant due to rainy weather.

Wow! I was so impressed by John's home. The space is clean and bright with soothing colors and well appointed furnishings and fixtures. We really felt like it was our home away from home. I could go on and on about the comfortable mattresses and linens, well equipped kitchen, beautiful electric fireplace but instead I will stop here and just say thank you for sharing your home with us. We will surely return.

Great place across from the Smith College campus with a lovely garden. The kitchen had everything we needed for all 3 meals. Very comfortable king bed and a spacious bathroom with a warm shower.

Quaint little apartment in the middle of the city! Really loved the location of the stay and the proximity of Smith College and all the restaurants. Would stay here again. Just a heads up, the walls can be a little thin, so if people are loud in the hallway, you can hear it in the living room and one of the bedroom. This wasn’t too big of an issue for me, but may be an issue for light sleepers.
