The Wharf, National Mall and three Metro stations are within a ten-minute walk. The first floor is all yours. Very private. Your bathroom is stocked with amenities. Always fresh towels, clean sheets on a queen-size bed. Closets, wifi, laundry, courtyard view. Full access to the living room, dining room and kitchen on the second floor. We live on the third floor. Start the day with a fresh-ground coffee and a homemade breakfast. Happy to adjust to personal preferences and dietary restrictions.
We live at G & Third Street SW. G Street is a cul-de-sac, and Third is not so much a road as it is parking for our townhouses. The road has several speed bumps. So, the traffic is light, local and slow. Very quiet.

Stay in one of DC's most historic, elegant homes. Built in 1890, but with all modern amenities. Only 1 block to Cap South metro, 2 blocks to Capitol and Library of Congress, and 8 blocks to Eastern Market or Nats Stadium. You can't beat the location!
The unit is located on one of the most prestigious streets in all of DC, New Jersey Ave. This tree-lined street dead ends into the U.S. Capitol Building, only two blocks away. This 750 square foot English basement unit includes a bedroom with a queen size bed, a large living with two futons that fold out into full size beds and two twin fold out beds. You'll also find a full-kitchen, with oven, microwave, stove, and cooking supplies. Moreover, you have access to a large tranquil backyard, to get some R&R after hitting all the nearby sites. Parking available for flat service fee.
Capitol Hill is one of the city’s most popular places to visit, with 19th-century rowhouses and a market plus a vibrant dining and nightlife scene. Tourists head to the neighborhood both for its government buildings like the U.S. Capitol and the Supreme Court and the surrounding historic, walkable, restaurant-filled blocks. Tour the U.S. Capitol via its impressive visitors center; guides lead small groups under the intricately painted, 180-plus-foot dome and past the dimly lit Old Supreme Court Chamber. You’ll need a reservation for the tour or to visit Congress or the Senate (when they are in session); for the latter, just contact your senator or house representative. Nearby, the Library of Congress’ impressive 1897 Thomas Jefferson building is open for tours that reveal its Italian-Renaissance style architecture and gilt murals plus the stunning, circular main reading room with its 160-foot-high ceiling. Other attractions include the Folger Shakespeare Library (the world’s largest collection of the author's timeless works), and the glassed-in U.S. Botanic Garden at the base of Capitol Hill, which holds palms, ferns and orchids and provides a peaceful escape. Nineteenth and early 20th-century rowhouses (think turrets, stained glass and ironwork) lead to throwback commercial zones. Eastern Market, an 1873 redbrick building houses grocers, bakers and pasta makers inside every day plus a lively weekend bazaar with produce, crafts and antiques. The nearby micro-neighborhood of Barracks Row centers on 8th Street SE, where vintage storefronts hold oyster houses, pubby bars and foodie-focused restaurants. Our neighborhood is truly special - we have lived here for over a decade and love being on a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined, brick-sidewalked street just blocks from everything. The space is a spacious studio apartment. The main room has a glass front door and two windows to let in natural light, a large flat-screen TV, couch, coffee table, chair, and bookshelves. The queen bed is in the main room as well. There are hardwood floors in the main room and hallway and a marble-tiled bathroom with a large rain showerhead. Trader Joe's is five blocks away, and we have a new Whole Foods coming in 2018 that's even closer. Our street is one of the most adorable in DC, and was featured on the 2018 Capitol Hill Restoration Society's historic homes tour.
People all over the Hill know our street and the wonderful community we have (including DC's longest continuously-running block party). It's a quiet one-way street with beautiful landscaping, gorgeous Gingko trees, and brick-lined sidewalks. We provide maps, guidebooks, Metrocards you can load, and recommendations for dining and sightseeing. There's a free "Little House Lending Library" on our street if you're looking for something to read, too.

Other attractions include the Folger Shakespeare Library (the world’s largest collection of the author's timeless works), and the glassed-in U.S. Botanic Garden at the base of Capitol Hill, which holds palms, ferns and orchids and provides a peaceful escape. 19th and early 20th-century rowhouses (think turrets, stained glass and ironwork) lead to throwback commercial zones. Closer to the Capitol, Massachusetts Avenue NE has multiple restaurants and longtime watering holes. Sip coffee at the granite-topped breakfast bar or unwind with a glass of wine on the patio of this open-concept, vibrant home. Red brick walls, cream cabinets, and hardwood floors add a vintage, country charm to this industrial-style space.  We can comfortably sleep 7 guests in a queen sized bed in the master (with a loveseat that opens to a twin bed), a full sized bed in the second bedroom, and our luxurious sofa bed in the living room.   There is a darling outdoor space - ideal for relaxing in the warmer evenings, reminiscing, and making new memories with your group! A palette of soft color tones & warm wood floors are designed to induce relaxation, while exposed brick walls provide a modern, industrial edge. See Airbnb pictures of Capitol Hill here: https://www.airbnb.com/locations/washington-dc/capitol-hill While DC is a city, it`s one filled with parks and not by tall buildings. (This is hardly The Concrete Jungle!) Capitol Hill is very multicultural with families, singles, and overall atmosphere.  We are LESS than 4 blocks from the Capitol Building our charming apartment is the ideal home base to explore DC! The neighborhood is teeming with amazing restaurants, lively and unique bars as well as a plethora of entertainment options - from live music, comedy, improv, and stage plays; those interested in the arts or just looking to see something new will not be disappointed! Aside from being so close to the United States Congress, Capitol Hill is the largest historic residential neighborhood in Washington DC, stretching easterly in front of the United States Capitol along wide avenues. It is one of the oldest residential communities in Washington, and, with roughly 35,000 people in just under 2 square miles (5 km2), it is also one of the most densely populated. You`re also a very short bus or Uber ride from a number of other neighborhoods, not to be missed; including Union Market, Chinatown, Gallaudet University, and the Navy Yard.

Secure your dates now. My home is a fully renovated, stately 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom row house and perfectly situated on one of the nicest blocks in Washington DC’s fabulous Capitol Hill neighborhood. It sleeps six very comfortably with a king sized bed and two queen sized beds and sleeps eight with a queen sized Aerobed. Includes off-street parking in a private driveway. Metro access is available one-half block away at the Capitol South station. Grocery, restaurants are steps to blocks away.
I personally oversaw the renovation of my home, preserving the historic architectural details. It's perfect for both vacation rentals and temporary executive housing. The location is literally steps from the Capitol South metro station, one block from the House of Representatives office buildings and two blocks from the U.S. Capitol. It is a perfect place for a family or an executive, lobbyist or politician who prefers immediate access to the Capitol, the House Office buildings, the Capitol Hill Club, the National Republican Club of Capitol Hill or the Democratic National Committee headquarters. Four current congressmen live on this very same block. The fully renovated home combines luxurious, high-end finishes with historic architectural features and provides the very best of Capitol Hill and Washington DC right outside the door It is walking distance to the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, the National Mall's monuments, museums and memorials, Metro (orange and blue lines), dozens of restaurants, bars and shops along Pennsylvania Avenue, Union Station, the historic Eastern Market, the Barracks Row district of even more restaurants, bars and shops, the Washington Nationals baseball stadium, many beautiful parks and green spaces and Interstate 395. The home was built in 1910 and includes original woodwork in beautiful condition, including oak floors throughout the home, baseboards, window trim, door trim and archways. An iron gate opens from the sidewalk onto a long walkway that leads through a landscaped front yard and up several steps to the front door which opens into an extremely large and sunlight filled living room (approx. 27' by 16') highlighted by a beautiful bay window and with ample space for two separate seating areas. A skylight directly above the original staircase adds even more light to the room. The dining room (approx. 16' by 11') is accented by a unique vintage light fixture and a classic wood table with period legs and inlay wood border. Leather chairs provide seating for six; however, the table can be extended to allow for dinners of up to 10 seated guests. The dining room can be separated from the living room with two large oak-panel pocket doors. Adding to the beauty of the room is a tin ceiling and a built-in buffet from the early 1900's with wood and leaded glass doors. A half bathroom with window and custom tile work is located between the dining room and the kitchen. The gourmet kitchen is perfect for both serious and casual cooking. It features custom built solid wood cabinetry providing extensive storage space, gorgeous green granite countertops, a tin ceiling, undercabinet lighting and two large windows. The stainless steel appliances include a Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer with ice maker, GE Monogram wine refrigerator with storage for 28 bottles, Thermador electric cooktop and wall oven, Bosch dishwasher and Sharp microwave. A glass door in the kitchen opens onto a large covered porch which steps down into a shady, tree lined, brick oasis of a backyard with amazing outdoor privacy and an outdoor table and chair set. A fabulous master suite highlights the upper level of the home. It consists of a large bedroom (16' by 16'), marble en suite bathroom and a large closet. The bedroom has four large windows, a king sized bed with top-of-the-line memory foam pillow top mattress and a Casablanca ceiling fan. The master bath includes sparkling Waterworks fixtures, a walk-in shower with frameless glass door and gorgeous marble flooring. The custom closet includes built-in shelving and plenty of hanging space. The second bedroom (approx. 12' by 10') has a large window and clothes closet and a queen sized bed. The third bedroom (approx. 12' by 12') includes two corner windows, a Casablanca ceiling fan and a lovely Storehouse furniture set including a dresser, armoire and a nearly new queen sized pillowtop mattress. The hallway bathroom has a restored bathtub and new period-style tile and fixtures. A Bosch washer and dryer are conveniently located in an upstairs closet along with laundry detergent and fabric softener.
You will not find a better Capitol Hill location! The very best of Capitol Hill and Washington DC are located just outside the door! My home is literally steps from the Capitol South metro station, one block from the House of Representatives office buildings and two blocks from the U.S. Capitol! It is walking distance to the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, the National Mall and its monuments, museums and memorials, Metro (orange and blue lines), dozens of restaurants, bars and shops along Pennsylvania Avenue, Union Station, the historic Eastern Market, the Barracks Row district of even more restaurants, bars and shops, the Washington Nationals baseball stadium, many beautiful parks and green spaces and it also has easy access to and from Interstate 395.
