This was an amazing stay The house was spotless and beautifully decorated and exactly as described The host was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed I highly recommend this place

Laura’s house is beautiful, it’s very private and the pool is fantastic. The house is cosy and spotless clean. The area is also quite nice, and there’s also a pub walking distance.

We had such an incredible time at this house. We were all pleasantly surprised at how great the house was and all the amenities. I don’t think the advert does it justice. We were a big group of 21 with 11 little ones who were in HEAVEN. We got very lucky with the weather and spent the whole weekend in the glorious grounds. We brought our own paddling pool and it was perfect. The aspect of the house means you get stunning sunsets and the back terrace is a real sun trap - long evenings sunbathing until 7pm! The surrounding area is stunning and the local village is so beautiful!! Walking distance (even with a million young children) to the village shop and then on to the very well equipped play park. We only wish we could have stayed for a week, the kids never wanted to leave. Some very special memories made here! Rachel the host is on the end of the phone for any questions and was excellent at responding to our queries.

The Stay at Kays was very comfortable the house is very well equipped you do not need to arrive with anything apart from yourselves, food & drink. Kay was quick to greet us by txt mgs asking if anything needed contact her plenty of clear instructions for the house. Bikes games indoor & outdoor and patio furniture all available. Parking pretty much next to the house. Will use again. Thank You Kay

The place for a great stay for myself and a work colleague, location was nice and quiet with no issues especially having a work van. The host was excellent and very responsive. No problems at all would stay again

Absolutely perfect stay in a beautiful area. The house was spotless and even bigger than the photos show! It was perfect for 4 adults and my 16 month old daughter. Stuart sent great instructions through and loads of information about the local area, although we actually loved the house and grounds so much that we didn’t venture any further - we had a lovely few relaxing days in the house and walks around the woodland. My daughter even got to feed the goats. Will definitely come back, and will do a summer visit too as the pool looked beautiful.

My daughter and I had the best experience staying at Henry’s cottage! We loved the house! It’s very nicely decorated, very clean and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Loved the town of Saffron Walden and its closeness to Audley End station where it was easy to move by train to other places. Have to say that what made our stay feel so special was Henry our host! He is such a nice person! So attentive and welcoming. We got to meet Joanna too, super nice with us! They are both lovely people! Thank you Henry for your kindness and for letting us enjoy your home!

A very comfortable stay in a more civilised part of town,very quiet. Very comfortable bed and large air fryer are a bonus. As previous occupants have stated that you will not find a better deal in Colchester for the solo traveller or couple - I will agree on that, would definitely stay again.

Good accommodation in a beautiful area, very quiet, perfect for a " getaway." Accommodation was very clean.

For someone who had to go to university daily and also wanted a beer by the river with colleagues in the evening and go to London on weekend this place is perfect as it’s 20 mins to uni and 20mins to train station. The place has very rational space, good kitchen and spacious living room and bedroom, ready to be lived in for the two weeks I stayed! Definitely would stay again!

20 years ago we were married at Layer Marney Towers and returning to stay at Nicholas' Airbnb was an anniversary present to my husband. We had not visited since we were married so really appreciated being able to explore the grounds and gardens in peace to relive our memories and re-create some of our wedding pics. Nicholas very kindly opened up the room where we said our vows all those years ago. The space itself was charming and romantic and so so quiet (unless you count the chattering of jackdaws and bleatings of the sheep!) We slept well on the comfy 4-poster bed and enjoyed exploring some of the footpaths from the door to Aberton Reservoir and the Hare & Hounds at Birch. I really hope we do not leave it another 20 years before returning. This really is a very special place.

Jo was a superb host! Very helpful with recommendations and instructions to get into the place. She went above and beyond as well. When my friend left her rings behind, Jo helped us to look for it and arranged to have them returned to my friend. Her place also has a great location and is near to both the Colchester Town station as well good food options nearby. We really enjoyed our stay here and will hope to return next time!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, met with friends, easy for taxi drivers to find their way. Enjoyed the walks around the area, Newhall feels you are living in the countryside with all the greenery surrounding the area. Very pleasant area.

Lovely and beautiful accommodation. All clean and has everything you need, including tea and milk! Much appreciated an arranged earlier check in, which was important to us. Overall a great stay!

Stayed at Janine's studio for 5 nights. Loved our stay, location was peaceful with easy access to local pubs and shops. Walkable distance to main road with two local pubs and Indian restaurant (which we didn't try) and chip shop(which we did..very nice). Also easy access to local buses into Brentwood high street, from there can travel to Romford, Chelmsford etc which for us was easier then taking the car. Studio was well set up, lovely and clean, with instructions on how to use heating etc. Janine did check in with me to make sure everything was ok which was nice. Studio exactly as described. As someone else suggested probably best to reverse onto parking spot as on a narrow lane. So couldn't fault our stay at all and would be happy to stay again next time we are in the area xx

I ended up cancelling, however, the host was most accommodating, responded to my messages within minutes and will be booking to stay at a future date.

Amazing find within 10 mins of the airport. Rachel was super lovely and communication was excellent. The accommodation was pristine and every possible need was met. Loved the stocked fridge and snacks available. Couldn’t have asked for more.

This place was perfect- so peaceful, clean, and comfy. I loved how it was so closed to a beautiful wood to walk through.

Joe was a great host, always kind, helpful, and attentive. The Mousehole is a lovely place to stay: very cozy, clean, and equipped with all the essentials. The house is beautifully decorated and very warm and welcoming. If you have any doubts, don’t hesitate to ask Joe, who is honest and very accommodating. Wivenhoe is a quiet and charming town, full of flowers and beautiful views of boats along the river. There are also a few nice pubs and restaurants just a short walk away. All in all, a great stay in a lovely place.

Beautiful place to stay and the pub in walking distance is an absolute bonus

The apartment was beautiful with lovely high ceilings! It was clean and very well equipped. We came from Dorset and with the help of Google Maps it was very easy to find the accommodation. It was a very easy walk into the city centre and took us less than 10 minutes. The city was very clean and had absolutely everything you could want. We would definitely recommend the apartment as it was so nice and welcoming.

Just about perfect for what we wanted - a night stay in the Wivenhoe area. The studio has everything you might need and the thoughtful supply of a breakfast cereal and milk was so helpful. Only saw Siri briefly, but enough to see she was friendly and would be there if we needed anything. The immediate area is nothing special, but it is quiet, the town is lovely and local attractions (we went to Beth Chatto's Garden and to Brightlngsea) are very accessible. The studio is easy to find with Siri's clear directions. Excellent all-round and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
