Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Emmental District

Me and my friends loved our stay at Judith's and Simon's place. It is such a lovely old style chalet, very well equipped, and so cozy, that we felt right at home. The hosts are also such nice people and welcoming. Staying here definitely made our roadtrip to Switzerland more special. We definitely recommend it.

We had a great multi-generational weekend (2-65 years), were the only guests and had the generous surroundings, incl. Outdoor kitchen, for us and we enjoyed this very much. The kids found some toys for outside and were happy. In the outdoor area, there are certainly a few things that need to be renewed or overhauled (chairs and tables around the grill, beach chair, possibly fabric of the yurt and lounge cushions) Merci Kurt:)

This was an awesome stay for us! Perfect for a lot of people to hang out and have a good time. While not in a super populated location, it is easily drivable to larger cities and grocery stores were 5 minutes away. I would love to come back someday!

It was a great time with the family. I find the accommodation very expensive. But nowadays everything is overpriced anyway. Still, a great location! Perfect for relaxation - Werner is a very nice person. He even gave us a whole bucket of eggs - thank you!

We stayed at Barbara and Walter's dream house for 3 nights and had the 3 greatest days of our lives. First of all, the house and especially its garden (and view) make you feel like you are living in paradise. Everything (absolutely everything) is available in the house and the decoration of the house is perfectly done. While watching the view inside the house and in front of the stove, you feel like you are in a completely different world with the objects made of wood and ceramics in the house. Barbara and Walter are the best hosts in the world, providing immediate support in everything we needed. They are so kind and caring that they translated the oven at home into our native language. If you want to enjoy the unique view of Switzerland, integrate with the green and be close to the city at the same time, you can choose Barbara and Walter's dream house. We look forward to coming again and thank you very much for everything to them!

A great place for a getaway, Daniela is always helpful and responsive.. Her parents who live one floor below the property are always smiling, very kind and helpful. We arrived very late and they were so flexible with the check-in time, they helped us even in the late night hours with check-in and showing the place. The house is so beautiful, clean and very convenient with everything that you need. The property is surrounded by beautiful green flush meadows, and you have a lot of space to relax outside the property as well. You need a car to reach the property, but the location is correctly marked in Google maps that we had no trouble and the instructions were very clear. Daniela is always responsive for anything that we asked, suggestions for places and any other help needed. Will definitely recommend this place and would like to come again.

We felt at home. There was all kinds of equipment in the kitchen for cooking. Ellen and Dino approached our questions and minor problems in a solution-oriented manner. They were very friendly as hosts. If we come back to Bern, it will definitely be the only place we will prefer.

You were so helpful, not only with carrying my large luggage but also with all the useful information you shared about the interesting place nearby. Actually, I left some precious things at the bnb, but Erna manage to post it to my bnb at Stalden Saas. It really means a lot to us. No words can describe how thankful I am. Really enjoyed our stay here! There were a lot of grocery stores nearby and the location was just nice because of the ease of public transport. Would recommend!

Beautiful apartment for exclusive use in the basement. Due to the large windows in the living room and bedroom, it is by no means dark. You enter the apartment via an external staircase and enter the kitchen. There is everything you need for cooking. It joins the living room with sofa and dining table. A TV is not available, which did not bother me. There is fast internet for that. From the living room you enter a small hallway from which the bedroom and the bathroom run off. Everything was very clean and Samuel was quick to respond if there was a question. Perfect! I'd love to come back.

We stayed for two night and absolutely loved it.Very peaceful and would definitely come back.

Nice apartment, spacious living area, comfortable bed,nice balcony, kitchen quite small but fully equipped. Very peaceful area but only a few minutes walk to local supermarket, train station and the village pub! Thun is a short drive away or a couple of hours walk on the riverside path. The pub served typical pub meals, they were large and cheap. Annemarie and her daughter were both very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed only for one night but we wished to have stayed longer ! Christine was very friendly, the apartment is cosy, very quiet we can enjoy the view of the fields and the garden from the bedroom. Easy access by car, we could park in front of the apartment and all kitchen tools were available, plus lovely surprises (home made salts with herbs, pasta and few more things). We highly recommend for a quiet stay and to discover this region :)

Our stay at Eveline’s place was absolutely perfect – it had everything we could possibly need and more! The home was incredibly spacious, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with every comfort. From the moment we arrived, Eveline was a wonderful host, and Marion was simply exceptional – so kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. The setting was magical for our family. Located on a peaceful farm, our children loved visiting the cows and even got to help feed them. A real highlight for our son was being able to take the lovely farm dog for walks – a special experience made possible thanks to Marion’s kindness. This was truly one of the most memorable and heartwarming stays we’ve had. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

What an amazing little spot and an amazing view! Waking up to an incredible view of the mountains everyday makes this place totally worth the stay. The house is very clean and organized with everything you need to cook for your family in the kitchen. Beds are very comfortable and linens are extremely clean and fresh. Located a quick drive from downtown Thun or a 5 mins walk to the train station that takes you right into downtown as well. Peaceful and quiet surroundings. Everything about our stay was perfect. Very pleasant and spacious apartment. Located at the end of a dirt road. Very quiet, in the hills, overlooking the mountains. The area is rural and walks start at the front door. Bern is a half-hour drive away, and with an hour's drive you are in the middle of the Bernese Oberland mountains. The house is beautifully decorated, and everything you need is present. Juliane is a friendly host and responds quickly to questions. Definitely recommend this property.

WOW!!! STUNNING!! Everything was simply divine, location placed in an unforgettable scenery and breathtaking views!!! The appartment is even better than on the photos, absolutely clean, fresh aroma in whole appartment. The kitchen was equipped extremely well as well as the other rooms in the appartment. Most importantly the both hosts- Monika and Daniel are so attentive, very kind, always available to give a very knowledgeable advice as well as offering their constant time to help with anything. We really enjoyed our stay at Antoinette's place. The apartment was super clean and equipped with all necessary appliances. It also had a high chair and crib for our 5 month old - very baby friendly. The location is on approx. an hours distance from major cities like Zurich & Basel. Highly recommended :)

The accommodation is a Bijoux and you immerse yourself in a past time - with contemporary comfort. The accommodation is furnished and decorated with a lot of love for detail and everything is super clean! Ann, Nadia's mother is a wonderful host, open, warm and straightforward. I felt very comfortable and still revel in the beautiful memories... :-)
