James was the perfect host! Very knowledgeable and friendly, helpful and seemingly a jack of all trades! The house was comfortable and inviting, very homey and well thought out. Everything you could need and more is there. Thank you for a very memorable stay and visit to Houpetown Castle 💕

This place is a true gem, a country house in the old style, lived-in but immaculately maintained, set in idyllic peaceful grounds with a (swimmable) river running through them — trout rising, rhododendrons and ducks and hens and even a heron... All that was needed for perfection was the perfect hostess, and Fiona delivered on that score, with a warm welcome, pots of tea and coffee at key moments, delicious home-made breakfast and general willingness to help with everything I needed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We had a wonderful stay! The accommodation was very comfortable, and Felicitas’ family are absolutely incredible — so warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. Every morning, they prepared a delicious breakfast for us, sometimes even quite early to accommodate our plans. One morning, they even joined us for breakfast, making us feel completely at home. It was amazing to hear their stories and connect with them on a personal level. The location is perfect too, with shops, restaurants, trains, and buses all just a short walk away. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

We had an amazing stay! The location was perfect, and the house had such a unique charm. We wish we could have spent more time at the house, but we were eager to explore the city. John was an excellent host, and his two daughters were a true delight. Most mornings, we enjoyed breakfast with the two of them, and they were wonderful company, sharing stories and laughter. If we ever return to Edinburgh, this place will definitely be our top choice!

What can I say about Rose and Jake except absolutely amazing. Great hosts. Super responsive. The place was spotless. I miss lil Millie already. What a hidden gem. Rose and Jake’s will always be a home base in Scotland. Fantastic find.

Beautiful home!! Having just moved to the UK, I was in “survival mode” as it were while in the process of getting a let and everything set up. It was a process and Debbie’s home was a welcome break from the hotel/transient status. The home is beautifully maintained and Debbie is a lovely host and a pleasure to speak with. I highly recommend!

I came to the area for a 3-day workshop. I had plenty of time and space to prepare for my studies. H and Jimmy were also very personable and easy to socialise with. I felt like I was staying with friends. The complimentary breakfast was lovely. I highly recommend staying with H and Jimmy.

Located in peaceful area with amazing view to Arthur`s Seat, so its a must do hike while u stay at Duncan`s :)! Supermarket 1k walk, few restorans close by, good bus connection to center. Room was spacious and clean, comfy bed. Bathroom in the room, but needs some renovating. For sure best part of the stay was fulsome breakfast that we didnt know, was part of the price -amazing!

Lois is an amazing host, she’s very sweet and gave me great recommendations in Edinburgh. The breakfast was very Scottish but very good!! You will enjoy your stay with her; a comfy bed, everything is clean and the area is good as well. Not to mention that you will definitely have a great time talking with her. Definitely recommend this if you are looking for a place in Edinburgh

Deane's place is great to visit Edimburgh. The city center is walkable and there are very close bus to the center or the airport. Deane was available for any questions and we felt very welcomed.

Great stay for two nights, Easy and smooth check-in, the room described clearly like the pictures,expect to share a wonderful living room and kitchen with other guests, breakfast was delicious. The house 20 minuets far from the city center, hosts are very friendly and help me to keep my luggage until my next check in, if you look for clean and quiet places this is the right place, overall it was a good time spending there. They let me to take many pictures for the house and share it in my insta@M4.f.

This is how airbnb is meant to be. We got welcomed with a cup of tea in our nice room, had a good sleep and in the morning a breakfast like you wish for everyday. Mary and John are very nice educated people with whom you can talk about a lot of things, and we did. Breakfast took almost 2 hours, and in that time we became more than just guests. Later on in the week Mary guided us through the Royal botanic gardens, so nice. We will go back there.

Eleanor is one of the most beautiful and thoughtful person I ever met in my life. Her kind gesture is so admirable. I truly felt like home and really wanted to stay some more days. Even though this was not the correct time for that I will definitely come back to this beautiful place again.

Logement idéalement situé proche d'un arrêt de tram pour rejoindre le centre de Édimbourg en 15 min et facile d accès également depuis l'aéroport. Quartier paisible. Accueil sympathique par Serghei qui nous a expliqué clairement le fonctionnement du Airbnb. Nous n'avons pas rencontré Lele. La chambre est propre ainsi que la salle de bain. Petit détail gourmand à l'arrivée qui fait toujours plaisir 😉

Emma es una extraordinaria anfitriona. Realmente piensa en darle una buena estadía al inquilino. Está siempre dispuesta a ayudarte. La casa está siempre impecable, y te ofrece un desayuno completísimo. La cama cómoda y un baño con ducha fantástico. No dudes en alquilar con Emma.

I cannot speak highly enough about my beautiful stay at the magical yurt! Fay and her husband Jamie were fabulous hosts, and their property provides the perfect balance of total privacy in the yurt area as well as access to shared space in their epic relaxing garden complete with lovely animals! It was peaceful, the views and plant varieties are incredible and the space is so beautiful and healing. The relaxing seaside location is perfect for exploring Fife, Edinburgh, Stirling Castle and more - I was glad to have rented a car as it allowed me to easily explore, take day trips and shop. I loved being close to nature with the added convenience of the kitchen, toilet, shower and sauna(!) so close to the yurt. I felt at home right away and was comfortable and cozy the whole time. I was lucky to be able to book some sessions with Fay during my stay, she is an amazing healer and shamanic practitioner. If her services speak to you I recommend her 100/10! Overall a fantastic experience

The room in Jessica’s house was the perfect accommodation for a solo traveler, enough space to be comfortable and spread out a little, with a very comfortable and warm bed, right next to the bathroom, with soundproofing good enough that you will barely notice other people using it. Jessica herself was an amazing host who did her utmost to make me welcome, even offering the occasional food and beverages; never intrusive, always helpful, with some great recommendations for things to do in the city and beyond. Jessica was also just a great and colourful conversationist with many an interesting story to tell. Don’t hesitate to book a stay with her.

Tracey was adorable; so lovely and friendly and couldn’t do enough for me. I felt very safe and comfortable. Everywhere was very clean and tidy, the bed was comfy, and there’s lots to do round about. Accessibility to the environs was easy, including the main city of Edinburgh. The coast was also only a 2 minute drive. Thank you for everything Tracey x

We had a the lovely few days at Carol's house; the bedroom and bathroom were lovely and very comfortable and beautifully clean. Carol cooked us a delicious breakfast each day, and was very accommodating with providing an early breakfast for my husband when he had to leave early the first morning and then cooking me breakfast later. The area is beautiful, and we would love to return to see more of it. Finally, Carol & her husband were very friendly and made us feel very at home. We would highly recommend!
