Family-friendly holiday rentals in Dunfermline

Wallace Lodge was by far the most beautiful and peaceful of our entire trip. The house was the perfect mix of modern amenities with a rustic feel, everything from the private Loch to the sheep in the surrounding fields made our stay even that much better. Wallace was a most helpful and gracious host, from letting us check in s little early, to showing us how to work the appliances. The hot tub overlooking the private Loch was the icing on the cake for this amazing place. would definitely come back here for a vacation.

Excellent accommodation and location, a real memorable trip. The restaurant is pretty much 'on-site' and was excellent. One negative - the hob. Seems like a small thing but when you are cooking for 8 and struggling to hold water at the boil it is frustrating. It was so weak. Since it is accommodation for 8, it really ought to be a more powerful hob. Frying bacon took *ages* ! Otherwise amazing, and highly recommended *****

We stayed 2 nights at the beginning of our vacation in Scotland. The location was perfect for walking to all the best spots in Edinburgh. Michelle was the person I communicated with upon arrival, she was extremely helpful and very prompt in returning my texts. I would definitely recommend this rental.

Absolutely fantastic location, out of the way and really peaceful. Another Airbnb next door but was exactly as advertised and contact with other guests was minimal and no issue at all. Perfect for a Scottish getaway in the Trossachs. The accommodation was clean, tidy and so well decorated - a home from home! Alison and Matt were so accommodating. Really helpful and friendly. We even asked about bringing a BBQ and they kindly offered their own for ease. Would absolutely recommend the stay to family and friends! Thank you for a lovely stay, 5*

Secluded, peaceful, private property with a river at the bottom of the garden. Bright, airy, clean, well furnished accommodation. Loved the log burner. Very well attended clean hot tub. Owners were very attentive for any needs should they be required but not intrusive at all. The bedrooms were clean and well furnished with fully equipped bathrooms - upstairs and downstairs. Great towels provided. Plenty of space to have a quiet time inside or outside from the hot tub or seating area at the large table with chairs. Beautiful views of the river and fields through the French doors. Nice touch of freshly baked scones welcomed us on arrival. Unfortunately we could not spend much time enjoying the property over our 3 day stay due to our daughter’s wedding but we would definitely love to return again. A great property to spend time as a family with children as there is an outside play area for children and huge amount of board games and toys available in the house.

Lovely stay with clear instructions and good amenities. Everything felt well presented and spacious. The only downsides were some staining on the couch and the DVD we watched being scratched.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay in Maggies place. Cottage was exactly as described, hot tub was easy to use and absolutely amazing. A lovely and cosy little place perfect for a wee getaway. Local pub staff were also very friendly and food was yummy.

We had a really lovely stay at the cottage, and as others have said the games room is fabulous fun, the horses were a huge hit with our kids, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after a fun day out! Thank you again Helen and family for a super place to relax and have great fun. We really enjoyed our visit.

We loved staying in Dan and Alex's home! It had everything you could possibly need, spotlessly clean, tidy, loads if linen, towels etc. And the views from the lounge and kitchen windows were absolutely spectacular!! Also the WiFi and tv were excellent! Lovely walks along the beach and surrounding areas and beautiful sunsets! Also the town had good local shops and the locals were extremely friendly. If you needed a big shop, Kirkaldy was only just over 2 miles away with a large Morrisons and a Lidls across the road plus an Aldi's about a mile further on. The Kinghorn fish & chip shop directly up the hill from Barton Buildings was excellent, very reasonable and friendly staff! All in all, we'd definitely go back to Kinghorn and would recommend Dan and Alex's flat to everyone!!

Absolutely lovely place to stay. 2 lady professionals traveling for work and this was a fabulous stop over. Quiet, super comfortable, safe and a lovely welcome hamper on arrival: Highly recommend. There is a lovely beach/woodland walk to stretch weary car travelled legs as well. Thanks Julie - hope to be back one day

Wonderful place to stay - felt luxurious, quiet with beautiful views and a lovely garden. Easy walk to supplies at the Larder and the local Toll Tavern pub - which fitted us in for a lovely meal even though they were fully booked. Maggie was super helpful and had provided some treats which were really appreciated after a long drive. The fully equiped kitchen had cooking basics and easy to use. The whole place was sparkly clean, warm and really comfortable. We chose the location as it is within easy reach for a range of places of interest - we thoroughly enjoyed being based here and highly recommend.

Can’t recommend this place enough, fantastic location with great views, lovely hosts and clean & tidy apartment. Easy access to Edinburgh and the airport, when I arrived I got a Taxi from the airport, if I’d have known how simple the tram/bus journey would have been I’d have done that, I did for my return journey. Local restaurants are lovely and welcoming (Saphire & Queens Spice), good pint in the Thirty Knots too! I arrived late in the day, to be welcome with bread and milk amongst other things was just wonderful, simple touch which went a long way! I would definitely return and recommend this to anyone looking Thank you to the host(s)

We had an amazing stay at Eleanor’s place! The house was spotless, incredibly comfortable, and equipped with everything we could possibly need — the facilities were top-notch. Eleanor was a fantastic host, even kindly waiting up for us after our very late arrival. Highly recommend staying here — we’d love to come back!

We, a family of five, enjoyed wonderful four nights in the lovely House on the Hill which was exactly as described. A great plus was the tennis court, that was very well received by our children. Walking the dog was a great experience. We used the farm cottage to explore Scottish Borders, Northumberland and of course Edinburgh. We would certainly come back and highly recommend this lovely place!

Had a wonderful stay with Eva! The flat was gorgeous and in an amazing area! Eva was a fantastic host, very helpful and really made sure we had everything we needed. When we’re next in Glasgow, this will be our top pick to stay!

Pascale's directions to the cottage were very helpful. Everything matched the pics in the listing. Beds were comfy, everything needed to cook your own meals, and she also provided face cloths and tissues, which are not often provided. Pascale is very responsive to messages and very easy to work with. I would recommend staying at her cottage if you are in the area!

We had an enjoyable weekend break in the Lookout at Pitmilly. Excellent standard of accommodation and facilities and a wonderful setting, convenient for exploring the Fife coast. Would highly recommend.

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

This apartment was perfect for our family of 8. Great location with many restaurants in the area. Easy access to bus service for city center. Facilities had everything we needed. Perfect place.

This was our second time staying at Anthony's flat. The location is excellent (right on the river, quiet neighbourhood). It has everything required for my elderly mother (no steps and large enough rooms for her to navigate with her walker). And Anthony is very helpful. Thanks again for a wonderful stay in Dunblane.
