Family-friendly holiday rentals in Dorchester

Orchard Barn Spa is a peaceful retreat for those looking to escape the city. We stayed there with our four month old and Chris was very accommodating, providing a baby bath etc. It provides the perfect base to explore all that the new forest has to offer, has ample parking space, is very clean and sits in a private plot. Thanks again Chris for a great stay and for your great communication throughout our trip.

Lovely hut inside and out, set within lovely gardens. Plenty of places to relax outside, especially the hot tub. We drove to the Bell at Broadway, lovely pub for food with plenty of options and majority can be gf too, including the home made pizza with a large selection of toppings.

Great place to stay with great sorroundings! Highly reccomend staying here.

Amazing place! Perfect location for a family holiday. The house has absolutely everything you need and more. We really enjoyed sea kayaking and paddle boarding with all Daves's kit. The sea is so close you can carry everything down to the shore. We really loved the hot tub and sauna and bbq area. The games room was a great space for the kids to hang out and play as well as the adults. We couldn't have wanted more. We'd wholeheartedly recommend this amazing house.

We have just returned from a wonderful and restful 3 day break. Would highly recommend this property as it was private, spotless with everything you could need. The hosts were amazing, very friendly and informative of things to see and places to go to locally. Their beautiful dogs were an added bonus for us. Will definitely be returning ASAP. The best Airbnb we have been to.

Definitely recommend Sam’s beautiful house. Immaculately kept garden with hot tub and huge trampoline which kept the children busy. All rooms with clean and had everything that we needed. Beds very comfortable and bathrooms were clean and showers etc all in good order. Thank you!

Thank you so much for hosting us Tracy. The hut was perfect, beautifully furnished with lots of thoughtful touches. The best bit was the location, private and secluded. The view from hut was just of rolling hills - no buildings or even roads in sight! A place to unwind and de-stress.

A homely and clean accomodation on beautiful settings on a farm, reminding us of memories of staying on farms in our childhood. Approximatley 30 mins from Weymouth where we carried out our bucket list - a visit to Durdle Door by boat, attendning the festival, swimming in the sea, going on the big wheel, eating delicious meals and relaxing in beautiful harbour settings. And where we could return from our days out to relax in our wonderful accomodation, sit in the garden, with a barley field backed on to us, listen to the cows in nearby fields and relax in the hot tub! Spending time together away from the hustle and bustle of life. Our host Jane made us feel very welcome, providing us with helpful information and was at the end of a phone or text if we needed any additional help. Thank you Jane - we made precious memories during our stay

What a lovely surprise for we history buffs to find ourselves in an historic church and graveyard. Once inside, delighted at the little touches on theme, eg welcome goodies greatly appreciated. On our long trip, the most comfortable beds and pillows yet. Also compared to many AirBNBs, Gordon’s place had good kitchen facilities eg plenty of cups, plates and cutlery etc.

A very beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Immaculate and full of beautiful furniture and books. Beds were very comfortable We found parking just outside. Bruton is a lovely town to walk around.

We had a lovely Stay, was in a perfect location to explore lots of amazing sights, beautiful views and lots of seaside town nearby. Sharon was very friendly and helpful and the place was comfy and had everything we needed.

Wow, what a stunning location. It's every bit as beautiful as in the photos. We watched glorious sunsets from the terrace and enjoyed walks on the beach. I enjoyed looking around the immaculately kept gardens and could have watched the colourful koi in the pond for hours, plus the two cute horses in the field. Andrew's directions to the house are spot-on, please don't trust your satnav or you risk being taken down some very narrow lanes with grass growing in the middle and no passing places. Ask me how I know. There is no mobile reception at the house, as you would expect given the location, but the wifi is very good. Beds and bedding super comfortable.

Jude and Will made us feel very welcome. Also a lovely welcome from their dogs. Lots of space and a lovely welcome pack including milk, bread and eggs. Easy 10 min walk into Bridport and lots of places to visit that are a short drive away. Definitely hope to make a return visit.

A house with great character. Excellent accommodation for all the three generations in our group. Nice to have a bath plus two showers and WCs on each floor. On busy road but double glazing very effective. Four good sized bedrooms, lounge and long dining room table easily able to seat us all. Nice wall art, books of local interest. Useful and tidy walled yard at back of the house. Xian and Ross quick to respond throughout the booking.

Lyn and David are the most wonderful hosts! David build the home from the ground up and it is very beautiful! We loved how homely it felt, comfortable beds, views that are out of this world and a really peaceful place to be! We can’t thank you both enough for allowing us to share your slice of Mendip Hills beauty!! Lyn left some homemade scones which were to die for! We have to revisit as we didn’t explore all the amazing walks and Wells in more detail , and would not think twice to stay again. PS there is a beautiful little shepherds hut nearby with the same amazing views also built by David (Lyn said because he was bored!) Hopefully David remains bored, we look forward to his next amazing space/s. We highly recommend you visit!

Where to begin? A small piece of paradise I think comes close! Eddie and Becks were super hosts, warm, welcoming and full of great advice and recommendations. The farm is in an idyllic location, yet only a couple of miles from the sea. Peaceful, quiet and the best place to unwind and explore. The cricket pavilion is a charming , rustic and well equipped bolthole for a couple or small family to enjoy. Dennis the Cockerpoo had the time of his life exploring and playing with his toys in the garden. The local pubs are great and the local beaches are excellent. We had a special dinner in the Ilchester Arms in neighbouring Symondsbury and hours of countryside walks in the hills surrounding. The local farm shop is an absolute gem of a place. The best of Dorset is a short drive in the car away. There is so much more I could add and we are definitely looking to return there for more Dorset heaven. We had a lovely week at Alpine Grove touring park. Clear communication from Keith. The space was very clean and had all facilities needed for our stay. Our toddler also really enjoyed the swimming pool! Would definitely stay again. Loved it

We had such a lovely stay at the Potting Shed. The location was beautiful- so peaceful and picturesque. The Airbnb was cosy and the bed was extremely comfy. We were there in 30 degree heat but it was lovely and cool inside. Would highly recommend and would love to come back one day and stay again!

The views from Seascape are wonderful and added greatly to our holiday. From sunny breakfast on the deck to cosy evenings watching the sun set we found everything we needed and we felt at home straight away. The lodge was immaculate and Judith dealt quickly with the only issue we had when the oven had a fault, so our holiday was not impacted greatly. It's a 15 minute walk into Swanage with an uphill return or free 2 hrs parking next to the Co op if you spend £10 there. Altogether a perfect place to enjoy Swanage and explore the Isle of Purbeck.

This is our second time staying in this lovely caravan. It’s always pristine and lovely. I always felt like a home away from home there. The bedrooms are a good size and the extra full bathroom is a definite plus! I’d highly recommend staying here.

I booked this wonderful property for my best friend's hen do. 10 of us stayed here and hired the property for the weekend. We paid for the garden games, escape room, wine tasting and bbq use for one day. We had the most amazing weekend, we had an entire packed itinerary for almost every hour of the whole weekend from everything available on site and had the best time, we almost didn't have enough time to enjoy every amenity. Not only was the property expansive and full of activities ,even if we didn't pay for extras, but the hosts were incredibly welcoming. From taking time out of their own weekends to check we had everything we needed to setting up games, awarding prizes and giving the bride keepsakes for her wedding they couldn't have made us felt more welcome. Waking up in the morning there were horses, sausage dogs and incredible views paired with a kareoke room and a swimming pool. A site that can accommodate a plethora of activities, we would definitely revisit.

We've just returned from another wonderful stay at this property in Long Sutton. As returning guests, we were delighted to find it just as perfect as we remembered. The location is stunning, offering peace and tranquility, and the property itself is immaculate. This time, we particularly enjoyed the pool and sauna – a real treat! We can't wait to return. This is our first Airbnb stay, also our first stay taking our dog. Having read and turned down a number of other Airbnb places the ducks wing seemed to fit the bill (no pun intended). The garden is lovely and secure, the rooms are extremely quirky which we both liked, our dog loved it. We didn't make best use of the many facilities including the pool, BBQ etc. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden listening to the countryside. As I've said our first experience with Airbnb but we were very impressed.

Thank you for the loan of your beautiful lodge,it was beautiful,clean,tidy and perfect for my 90 year old mum to enjoy her little holiday away with me,everything was as described and instructions were clear on getting to the park, checking in and checking out.
