Lake house holiday rentals in Donner Lake

Lovely home, very spacious, beautiful, and excellently stocked with amenities. Minutes away from the Lake, grocery store, town, etc. Fantastic and responsive hosts -- we helped refill one of the propane tanks and they reimbursed as promised! We will stay here again next time we're back in Lake Tahoe.

Nice little Craftsman home within easy walking distance to the Reno River Walk and downtown. Convenient to the main streets to reach the freeway, as well. Very clean and comfortable.

Great space and very clean. We spent a lot of time on the patio and down by the river in the evenings. Even though it is a shared space, we never saw anyone else in the back yard. We would definitely return.

Amazing lakefront property and best place we’ve stayed in Tahoe yet! Incredible views from the main living space. Ryan, the host was extremely accommodating and responsive our entire stay. The use of paddle boards and the dock was a hit with our kids. We paddled to Garwoods, a must on every visit for our family. We had everything we needed from beach towels to kitchen utensils & the bbq. We are very appreciative to Ryan & his family for sharing their lake house with us to make our own memories and we hope to return in the future!

Great place especially for larger groups. We had 14 and everyone was comfortable. Just be aware that this house is 4 levels and the stairs are a consideration. Would go back again!

My family and I had the MOST relaxing stay here. We didn’t leave the house! The views from the house were just so breathtaking. And the house itself felt so homey. We had everything we needed. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We had an amazing stay! The home was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well stocked, perfect for our large family group! We had enough room for everyone, plenty of space for shared meals, and comfortable sleeping arrangements. The host was super friendly and responded quickly to the questions we had. We had such a great stay here with family and friends over the weekend! The cabin was beautiful, in a great location, and the host was super friendly and responsive. One thing that really stood out was how well-stocked everything was, which isn’t something we’ve typically seen at other Airbnbs. The kitchen had everything we needed, from pots and pans to coffee machines, spices, and seasonings, which was perfect since we did a lot of cooking. Just a heads-up if you’re a coffee person: they provide the machines but not the coffee, so be sure to bring your own! The place was also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus. We loved that there were tons of games, activities, and even outdoor gear to keep everyone entertained. You can tell the host really cares about the guest experience, and we’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Very spacious house, conveniently located close to Lake Blvd, providing a short drive to Kings Beach, Northstar, Tahoe City, and the Alpine and Palisades resorts. The house is quite spacious, with plenty of sitting space, a good kitchen and dining room space. There is room for 4 cars in the driveway, plus one or two in the garage (depending on your parking skills ;-), which is nice. My friends and I are already thinking of trying to rent this lodge again next year (although this review may make it more difficult...). We had a small issue with the hot tub -- it was perfectly usable (it is really big too), but the jets did not function correctly every time. This has been reported and given Madelyn's responsiveness, I am confident that this will be solved.

This was the perfect vacation home for us. Kings Beach is nearby hardly 5min drive. Safeway is nearby. The home was really cozy, bear themed. The outside deck was amazing to relax. We used the grill as well and was amazing. 100% recommend to stay here if you are here in North Lake Tahoe. Also, Lisa's responsiveness was quick and she helped us with information throughout the trip. Bed was comfortable as well. We saw one coyote around from the deck outside.

Ken is an outstanding host. He is extremely responsive, proactive and a terrific, efficient communicator. He also set (at least for me) the gold standard for "before you get here" communications, in the form of a 89 page (!) guidebook to the property, the surroundings, restaurants, ski-shops, where everything is and how everything works. Whoa! When I asked Ken for recommendations for Ski rentals, he steered us to exactly the right place within an hour. The cabin was spotless, well-stocked, and in every way as described. Zero surprises, which is how it should be. I can 100% recommend Ken and am looking forward to renting from him again.

We had the most incredible stay at this stunning cabin nestled in the heart of Lake Tahoe. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and felt like a luxurious mountain retreat. The views from the deck were breathtaking—especially at sunrise and sunset, with the trees silhouetted against the lake and mountains. The amenities were top-notch: cozy fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, super comfy beds, and even a hot tub under the stars. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, from the plush linens to the complimentary coffee and local guides. It was the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort. We spent our days hiking nearby trails, relaxing at common beach, and relaxing by the fire in the evenings. The location is perfect—secluded enough to feel peaceful, but close enough to great restaurants, shops, and activities.

When you close your eyes and envision the perfect house in the mountains for you and 9 of your friends, it’s actually this house, bobbing up and down, waiting to open its doors to you. Hot damn, we loved staying here. 🤠🤠🤠 This is a great place for a large group and would be great to enjoy with kids, too. So much space and almost everyone had their own bathrooms. We loved the open layout, huge kitchen and dining room table. Beautiful fireplaces in the living room and primary bedroom were a mountainy treat. Location is fantastic and only 10 mins to downtown Truckee (our favorite Tahoe town with great restaurants and nightlife). We had plenty of room for 5 or 6 cars including the garage area. The hot tub on the porch was used multiple times a day and we just really enjoyed the home. Matt was a great host. He was super responsive and helpful throughout. We appreciated having shampoo and conditioner in the showers, extra toilet paper etc. thank you Matt!! 🎿

We had a fantastic stay for the 2025 ski season! The cabin was both cozy and well-equipped, making it the perfect home base for our trip. The linens were neatly organized, which made laundry a breeze. The kitchen was impressively stocked—even a Vitamix! The board game closet was a treasure trove, with a huge selection of games and even toys for kids. Our 1-year-old is definitely going to miss the toy power tools! The location was also ideal—secluded enough to feel peaceful, yet just down the hill from the park-and-ride for the Palisades shuttle. Thank you for being such thoughtful hosts! We’re already hoping to book again next season.
