The R-J Rabble's Retreat

ClareRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The cabin and its surroundings was wonderful for our family of 4. Very comfortable and the kids loved the bunk. Very spacious, clean and beautifully presented. We booked at last minute and Dru (and family) were not about the weekend we stayed but communication was fantastic, we cannot fault, the yummy Brownies on arrival were a really lovely extra touch. We would certainly recommend staying here. The area is also beautiful (walks and activities recommend in the lodge), we had a great time at Attingham Park National Trust and a walk around Wenlock Edge, the Presthope car park a couple of mins down the road is great with 3 options of walk length, fantastic den building and little bits for the kids on the walk. A great few days away, thank you Dru!

RebeccaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
A lovely getaway for the family and dog. Boys loved climbing in the tree house, space to run around, the canoes and the painting station. the dog had freedom to roam. the cabin is quirky and everything is well thought of and John had left marshmallows and choco digestives for s'mores. John is a fab host. really attentive and knowledgeable. relaxing stay, many thanks 👍 would definitely visit again.

Cabin Under The Bridge

DannyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Colin’s place was amazing, from the get go he was proactive with contacting us about the hot tub and check in, as we booked last minute. The space was incredibly well put together and clever, wood fired hot tub was great and the surroundings very tranquil. Despite seemingly being situated on a residential street, you go through the gate and down the steps and you could be in the middle of the woods absolutely anywhere in the world, it was so so peaceful and exactly the rest and reset we needed. Our only gripe was it got really warm in the bed at night, as it was high up and a small space, although I must admit this is seemingly unavoidable and somewhat expected… I’d highly recommend Colin’s place to anyone, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again for the same reason!

The Cosy Stable -Peak District National Park

SamRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is a beautiful, cosy little cottage in a perfect, peaceful location. The cottage is perfect for two (and a dog!) and has everything you could need for your stay. There are so many walks from your doorstep and maps have been provided for excellent local walks. Annette is a brilliant host, going above and beyond during our stay. She is full of information about the area, both before and during our visit, with plenty of recommendations for good places to eat and visit. We visited two of the pubs she recommended and they were fantastic, and dog friendly! (The Black Lion & The Lazy Trout). We absolutely loved our stay and would love to go back soon.

This is a great cosy place to stay when visiting Matlock. Location 2 mins from centre. The accommodation is very clean and tidy with everything you would need amenities wise and also has its own parking bay opposite. The best compliment I can give is that I would book again.

Norwegian style cabin

JessicaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beautiful little cabin/ tree house. Everything we needed & so much more. Quirky little trinkets everywhere you looked. Loved the Norwegian viking theme. (& the cute little mouse house) We've stayed in some lovely little places & this is definitely one of our favourites. Could really feel the family & the happy memories created there. Just lovely. 🥰 Beautiful garden. Can't wait to return in the summer to enjoy it & have a fire pit etc. Listening to the rain & the toasty fire burning was just as perfect though. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 🙂 Thank you for having us. Jess & Greg. Xx

The Hut on the Hill

DanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The Hut on the Hill is a hidden gem and perfectly positioned for a walking trip to the peaks. You can see Mam Tor from the door and the location is just beautiful. I especially loved the wildlife around, alpacas, cats, dogs, rabbits, birds. It was honestly a pristine spot of tranquility. The hut itself had everything you need and the bed is super comfy!

Little Elm

DorothyRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Lynn and Simon were such great hosts to both me and my dog! Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to suggest restaurants and points of interest in the village ( and the best way out by road and local places of interest to visit.) I walked into Brewood and on their recommendation, went to the Indian restaurant for a takeaway which I can definitely recommend. Little Elm is so peaceful, just an owl hooting at night and the cottage itself is ideal for a single person or couple. A lovely welcome pack of breakfast essentials, milk, tea, coffee, bread, butter, marmalade and jam plus cereals and the most fantastic Victoria sandwich ! I’m still enthusing about that now! My dog loved running and exploring in the spacious enclosed garden and loved the treats from Lynn and Simon even more! Lovely wet room/bathroom and a sauna available too. Thank you for a fantastic stay and I'll definitely return if I'm in the area again!

The Carriage near Matlock, Peak District

HannahRating, 5 stars5 days ago
The Carriage is a really lovely bolthole. Beautiful views across green fields and valleys and so peaceful. The accommodation is very comfortable and extremely well equipped for its size. You do need to be quite flexible to get into bed and the bathroom is very compact. We loved our stay there and would definitely return. Wendy and John are excellent hosts.

What a great place! I booked it last minute as my plans changed & so glad I did. The kitchen is very well equipped - had everything I needed for my stay. Bed was super comfy with lovely bedding. Great outdoor space with decking & table & chairs. Although in the the grounds of their house, it was very private & quiet. Would definitely stay again & recommend.

Water's Edge Retreat With Amazing Views

DebbieRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Beautiful accommodation in a picturesque setting. The house was immaculately clean - and very well maintained! Gorgeous, comfortable bed and large chairs to sit in to admire the amazing views. Perfect location for our running routes and a trip to The John Smith’s Stadium for a concert. Very good communication with the host! We do a lot of research to find good quality accommodation and this certainly ticked all the boxes!!!

Pod with Hot tub in woodland near Alton Towers.

GemmaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We’ve just returned from a gorgeous two night stay at The Pod. This was a last minute decision to get away from it all. We couldn’t have asked for a better escape. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and the Pod is in the most gorgeous peaceful spot. Just what you need to fully switch off. We stayed with our two children, 7 & 9, and our Germans shepherd. So it was cosy but we had everything we needed. The accommodation is clean and well thought out. Lovely bathroom and shower. Sally and Andy were both on hand and really helpful throughout our stay, giving us information about local walks etc. We dropped on with the weather and we feel like we’ve had a little holiday, just what we needed. We will certainly back, thank you!
