Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Davis

Perfect quiet rustic yet clean and charming get-away. Proximity to Seneca Rocks was stellar. Surrounded by a horse farm, we got to experience the pleasures of simplicity. From the photo album of the transformation of the place, to the hand written notes, the fire pit, to the local maps, to the 3 dimensional mountain farmland road, it was an awesome experience.

We stayed for a weekend in the spring and the kids wanted to stay another day. It was peaceful and just what we needed. We would absolutely stay here again.

We loved staying at Mammy’s Memories so much we can back a second time. Very cozy well equipped house for cooking and recharging after long hikes with our dogs at Dolly Sods and Seneca Rocks. Hope to be back again next year!

Our stay at The Black Horse Farm was excellent! Everything was just as described and even better than the photos! Very peaceful setting and private as well. I have been traveling to the area since the early 80s and this was our first stay with Darrel and Cindy, but it won’t be our last!

We had a little problem! Not her fault! Had a storm and the electric went off. Sherry came right over with lights and was very helpful’ the kids enjoyed no electric for awhile and practiced chess! She has lots of games! We went for the Blue snd z gray Reunion! Great!

We loved this AirBnb. So clean, well equipped, spacious, and comfortable. Angela was the perfect host. Close to many hiking trails and downtown Davis. We loved our stay and will be back!

This place was perfect! Location was great, extremely easy to find and close to everything that we had planned for this trip. Beds were comfy and the fans were a added bonus (cant sleep without them). Unfortunately, with our limited time, we were not able to take advantage of the beautiful back porch. Would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect location- comfortable vibe. Lovely decor. Alison was superb. The bed was comfortable. We loved walking to all the things. Our car didn’t move! However, with the convenience of being in town and able to walk anywhere comes noise. Typically I wouldn’t turn a TV on, so not having one wouldn’t be an issue, however I would have loved to have one to drown out the neighbors conversations. Literally, someone sneezed in another unit (or upstairs) and I said, bless you. They responded saying, “thanks.” 2 things would have made our stay perfect, a white noise machine, tv or Bluetooth speaker to drown out the noise and provide some semblance of privacy and a full-length mirror in the bedroom. Overall, I would recommend this place and will likely stay again. The convenience of being right in town coupled with the river and fire pits right outside was awesome. Next time, I will pack earplugs and a speaker!

We were in town for WVU graduation for my niece and wanted to stay somewhere away from Campus with a little more peace and quiet. Shari's place was one of the most beautiful and well-appointed we've ever stayed at on Airbnb. She has literally thought of everything and the pictures dont do her place justice. It is home away from home vibes. She even left us cake pops decorated WVU colors and a bottle of their own BBQ sauce from their business...how nice! They have everything from multiple coffees, tea, hot chocolate and water...to makeup wipes and bandaids. Shari has not missed a detail in her place. We only stayed an evening due to the drive to WVU being a little further away than we expected (country roads) but that one night was perfect. If you're looking for relaxation...this is the place.

what a lovely place to stay. Cheaper than the local hotel and much nicer. Carolyn is a great host! The apartment is equipped very nicely, very comfortable furnishings. We will stay here again for sure.

An absolutely beautiful location! I was able to watch the leaves change in fall while soaking in the deck hot tub. The studio apartment was perfect as my home away from home while on a travel nursing assignment. I had everything I needed. I was able to bring my roku and watch my TV shows while relaxing in the recliner chair. The shower is very roomy. I love that a washer and dryer was included. The only thing I wish it had was a toaster oven…but that is a luxury not a need. The stove, toaster, and microwave were perfect for my month stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to “get away” or working in nearby by Oakland, MD. The host is wonderful and very responsive.

What a great place to stay for a weekend getaway or for a week. Cozy, clean, energy efficient, and everything you need to cook a nice email and settle in after a day of hiking. Very close to the art scene in Thomas and great hikes in Dolly Sods Wilderness area.

The location of this apartment is very attractive. It's walkable to the main strip in Davis and the apartment is along the river. There is adequate outside seating which allows you to enjoy the view. The apartment is comfortable overall. The bed is cozy. This is a good place to stay if you don't plan on being in the apartment but rather outdoors, which most of us coming to Davis choose to do. I would highly recommend as it has everything you need and is overall quite nice. They allow pups which is great and the wifi works well (I was able to work remotely no problem). There are a few other apartments in the building, but everyone is respectful and there is no noise. There is also a nice river walk you can do with the pups. Very peaceful.

Blackwater Bed & Bikes was a great home base for exploring Davis! The apartment was clean and cozy. The host was super responsive and was on-site within 5 minutes when we had an issue, which she resolved quickly and cheerfully. She also proactively provided drinking water for us during a boil water advisory. The location is even better than the pictures and description. Great fire pits, a big grassy area for pups, and a gravel walking path right along the river. The town is super close and we took advantage of the restaurants and shops every day. They just opened a brand new dog-friendly outpost of Big Timber Brewing right next door, with great beers and good hours. You can also hike right into Blackwater Falls State Park - one of the viewing points for the waterfall was only an easy 2.5 mile walk from the property. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful property! The cabin was very clean and exactly as pictured. Rachelle stopped by shortly after check in to see if we needed anything. We didn’t think about the lack of cell service at the property and had to drive back down the road to get enough service to pull up the access code to get in, but Rachelle saw the remainder of our party waiting behind and was able to let them in while waiting on us to get back. Once connected to WiFi we were able to make calls as usual. Can’t recommend this place enough! We would definitely book again!

I had a great time staying at this cabin. Most things were provided, and the cabin was clean. Check in was a breeze and check out was clear and easy to follow. I really liked the location. Did not realize there was mini golf and tennis. Looks like there’s a pool in the summer, maybe too (The pool was drained during my stay). All in all, this was an excellent rental with a great location and would return in the future.

Merry Jo's place was a beautiful, clean and comfortable mountain home with stunning views. It is extremely private and peaceful (I think we saw one vehicle during our stay), and a great place to relax, meditate, and refresh. True escape! We saw deer daily and enjoyed the hiking nearby. It is close to restaurants (Davis, WVa) but the kitchen was well-stocked and we did cook out a few times. Merry Jo is a wonderful host, and she is quick to answer all of our questions, etc. We highly recommend and hope to visit again in the near future.

Such a beautiful cabin, perfect for a peaceful getaway. Walmart was an hour away and most hiking/caves were about the same distance but the drives are breathtaking! We wish we stayed longer, can’t wait to come back!

Amazing place. Quiet, peaceful, secluded in nature, and had everything we needed. We even saw deer and a bunny rabbit. It was the perfect vacation!

What a beautiful, clean and well-equipped house! We loved gathering there with our extended family and dogs. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had nice equipment (not junk) that was easy to cook on. We appreciated all of the thoughtful touches and felt at home in Sara's beautiful place. The house is very remote and perfect for those looking for a private getaway. And we are very thankful for Sara's hospitality. She was incredibly responsive and kind.
