We had a wonderful stay with our 3 young boys. The house manual has all the information you could possibly need including lots of information on local days out, walks and restaurants/takeaways. We were really impressed with the level of information you included within this and used it to plan our first day as we weren’t sure what to do. The lodge was extremely clean and inside was everything we needed for a comfortable stay including a selection of toys which kept our toddler entertained. We had pretty rubbish weather but the views from the lodge are beautiful and it is super peaceful. The perfect relaxing break away.

All round a lovely trip. It was peaceful and nobody else around us, where we could just switch off from the outside world. Check in was easy and the instructions of how to get there were very thorough.

The Alton Lodge was a fantastic stay! Lovely place, with lots of space and great amenities. Thanks to Watson the caretaker, for lighting the hot tub and for the tour! Definitely recommend!

A stunning view and a stunning cottage. Highly recommend. Completely relaxing. And the hot tub is a great way to unwind after a long walk around the beautiful countryside.

We loved everything about pur stay. The bungalow is very clean. The area is lovely and the hot tub was amazing. The open plan kitchen and the living area is very spacious, the kitchen is very well equipped, it would be amazing for a longer stay. It struck me me as a place someone put a lot of effort into ino order to make it a really welcoming and livable space. I would definitely go back. The host is very responsive and welcoming!

We are already looking to book in with Sam again. Her place was absolutely beautiful and we felt right at home. Sam messaged me back extremely quickly when I had questions regarding local shops- FYI there is a Nisa Local around 8 mins away and then a Tesco and a Sainsburys slightly further out for a bigger shop- but all very close via driving. The hot tub was stunning and we really enjoyed getting in after walking and resting our legs. The garden was also a massive hit with our two children who enjoyed playing and looking at the horses. The farm cats were a wonderful addition! If I could rate Sam’s place higher, I would! Thank you so much!

Beautiful lodge in lovely surroundings and private. Parking right next to lodge and village walkable with 2 lovely pubs. Lodge is very spacious for 2 people, comfortable bed and sofa, with the added bonus of sauna and jacuzzi bath (which we made use of). The well lit decking area is great for a peaceful drink in the evening. Kitchen had everything to be able to cook a meal. We visited Calke Abbey which is walkable with free entry to gardens and grounds if not taking a car. Plenty of walks around the village too. We

We had a lovely, chilled stay at the cabin with our dog. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bedding smelled lovely and fresh! The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, and let us know they were on hand if we needed anything. The cabin is small but perfectly equipped and thoughtfully furnished - it felt like a home from home. The garden is beautiful and so relaxing to sit and listen to the birds. We enjoyed watching the sun set over the forest from the deck with a glass of wine. There are plenty of walks in the forest just a few minutes from the cabin, which was ideal for our nervous dog. Unfortunately we didn't see the wild boar but did spot some deer on a morning walk. Overall we had a great time and would love to come back again!

I had such a lovely few days away with my son. The cabin was absolutely lovely and in such a beautiful setting. We loved exploring the woodland and enjoyed using our paddle board on the lake. We loved being around the animals- we visited the pigs, horses, goats, sheep etc. several times a day! Had a lovely bbq, despite the weather! It was a great location to visit Warwick castle, as well as the surrounding villages. The owners couldn’t have been more friendly- we learnt so much about all the animals. The fresh eggs and treats were a lovely touch. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Really gorgeous few days at the lodge. Felt so quiet and peaceful but a stones throw from the Marina with some lovely places to eat and grab a drink. Some lovely walks to do along the canal too. Lots of lovely little touches in the lodge and Rob was very friendly and helpful with making sure we knew how to find the lodge and check in etc. Would 100% recommend and return!

We loved our stay here, and being surrounded by the horses. The cabin was cosy and comfy! The views were very pretty, the area was peaceful, and there was a nice outdoor space to chill in! Wed love to come back sometime!

Needed somewhere to stay near a farm that we were visiting for a course. This was comfortable, well provided for (including parking) and the communication between Mark and Shell was excellent. Recommendations on local services and resources were provided including pubs and restaurants. It was within walking distance of the village pub (maybe 1/4 mile?), roads were narrow but it wasn’t open when we needed it so can’t comment (looked cute though). Thanks for a comfortable stay!

Jess was such a helpful host, very quick to reply to all my questions. The cabin is beautiful and very relaxing. So close to Alton Towers which was the reason for our stay. Would highly recommend a visit! Thank you Jess :)

Beautifully clean and well equipped, stunning location, fantastic shower, lovely host and beautiful weather! Local foothpaths are well walked and we plan to be back to explore more.

We had the most amazing stay! The place was incredibly peaceful, quiet, and completely private, just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Lucy, our host, was absolutely wonderful. She messaged us beforehand with plenty of great local recommendations and was super helpful. We came to celebrate my partner's birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The hot tub was already heated and ready to enjoy when we got there, which was such a thoughtful touch. We both had such a lovely time and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommended!

So much thought and effort has gone into making this place very special. It is set in an old orchard so you are surrounded by wildlife with incredible birdsong at dusk and in the early morning. It is near the Worcestershire Way so we had some lovely walks from the door. Very well set up camp fire with all the kit for cooking in the evenings, and the baths over the stream were fun! Would love to return.

This place is nothing short of amazing. We were in search for a private, secluded getaway, and Luke’s cabin exceeded our expectations. There are three cabins along the lake, in a completely private area and a short drive away from pubs, amenities and things to do. The cabin itself was spotless, bright and thoughtfully designed. Would definitely return.

Victoria & Craig have re-written the rulebook when it comes to hosting. Both were very very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and every single detail you can think of was covered. The cabin was extremely well appointed in beautiful, peaceful, and very private surroundings! Everything was immaculate, it was impossible to believe that someone had stayed in it just before we arrived. Although completely left to our own devices the welcome pack, instruction book and decor made you feel like they were there to make sure you were having a good time. An extremely professional, beautiful and well run setup from two lovely people! Can’t wait to come back! Love to the Alpacas aswell!!
