Romantic Dog-Friendly Escape, New Abbey

We had a wonderful stay at Rosewall cottage. Beautiful cottage in a lovely village with lots of easy walks surrounding the old Abbey. Our host Tina provided a lovely clean, well stocked and equipped place for us to stay and couldn’t have been more helpful. We would definitely love to return.

Cargenbank Farmhouse

We booked the property last minute so did not have a lot of options based on the area we needed to be in. If something similar has come up away from the main road then we would probably have opted for that as we are both light sleepers. However if that had happened then we would have missed out on this delightful property, ease of access (due to the location of the main road A75) to all the beauty spots we were looking to find and handy for the shops etc. We enjoyed it so much we actually asked to stay on for a further 2 nights and would definitely book again if in the area.

Country cabin retreat - hideaway and relax

CoraRating, 5 stars2 days ago
I booked Julia's little cabin for a few days writing retreat and it was exactly what I needed. It was a haven of calm, set in the beautiful surrounding countryside. I was able to just sit with the french window open and hear the birds chirping away or often out in the beautiful garden which was incredibly peaceful. Julia was very helpful and responded quickly when I needed a little help with the fire. The place was pristine when I arrived. It's. a good 35 min walk into town but the walk is beautiful and a nice way to take a break. It is 5 mins in the car. There is a wooden veranda outside which is perfect to do some morning yoga. All in all, exactly what I was looking for and very reasonably priced.

Austin Lodge 12, Hot Tub, beautiful country views

AimeeRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We had a fabulous stay at the lodge. It was as described, super clean and beaitifully decorated. The hot tub was the highlight, as well as being able to watch the cows and sheep go about their day in the field behind. The lodge is in a wonderful location to explore different towns along the south of Scotland. The nearby farm shop is one to try for some yummy delights. All in all we had a wonderful, relaxing stay made all the better by the lodge. We would love to stay again and hope we get the chance to again! Highly recommend.

The farm was really peaceful. John showed us the animals and we got to pet sheep and cows. Our four year old loved the hidden bed.
