Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Calvados

Fabulous stay! Host was very responsive and the house was great. Easy for exploring the Normandy sites! House was sparkling clean and the beds were super comfy! Highly recommend.

This was one of the best Airbnb properties we have stayed in. Valerie is a very gracious, kind and welcoming host. She met with us on arrival and departure and gave us a full run down on the house, nearby shops and restaurants and suggestions for things to see during our stay. She has thought of everything and there was no amenity in the house that had been overlooked. The house is perfectly located for the quintessential visit to Normandy with manageable drives to the main tourist locations. It’s located in a beautiful tranquil village and we loved watching the sheep grazing outside our window and listening to the nearby church bells chiming out the day. It was a wonderful place to return to at the end of each action-packed day! The house was spotlessly clean and gorgeously planned. It’s a centuries old stone house which has been furnished in contemporary style while maintaining some traditional touches. It looks even better than the photos. Highly recommended…. Look no further!

We had a very enjoyable short stay at Helenes beautiful cottage. It was just as it looked in the photos etc. It was immaculate inside and Helene always responded quickly to any questions. The gardens were a great place to relax in and enjoy the peace and quiet.

I had an amazing stay!!! Staring before check in to check out, Céline was very responsive and accommodating. She responded quickly with any questions I had and was a delight to talk to. I had all the amenities needed for the perfect stay. It was definitely a home away from home. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to be surrounded by a peaceful environment and the view of the ocean was AMAZING. short stay but it was wonderful. Everything neat and present. the host only speaks French but with Google translate it went well. they are flexible and respond quickly. The only thing was that it was unclear that there were not 2 closed rooms, this meant that we finally had to sleep with our son in 1 room. Not bad, but would have liked to have known in advance.

We cannot say enough good things about Christian’s Chateau! The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful and made for a very peaceful start to our month long Europe trip. We loved greeting their horse and chickens each day and waking up in the bucolic countryside. It was the perfect gateway to Normandy and had everything you could possibly need for a memorable stay. The bedrooms were huge and beyond comfortable and you literally have an entire castle to yourself which makes you feel like royalty! The decor is whimsical and Victorian and adds to the charm and homeyness Christian certainly treated us like royalty too; he answered all of our questions in a timely manner, gave great area recommendations, and even left us a basket of delicious croissants for lunch! We relished the peace and quiet of this Airbnb and feeling like we could truly rest and escape the hustle and bustle. Thanks for being an amazing host and making our time in France so wonderful, Christian! :)

I recommend this accommodation, the view is extraordinary, its terrace well sheltered from the wind we were able to eat there every noon, the amenities and bedding are perfect! Just to review the coffee maker which is not up to the standard of the house. The concierge is superb as communication and flexibility for check-in and checkout! We'll be back!

What a perfect stay we have had, truely outstanding. The cottage was so pretty, clean and beautifully furnished. The location was excellent for exploring the vast history and beautiful Normandy countryside. Rodolphe and his family were extremely welcoming, friendly and on hand to offer any help or recommendations. We really enjoyed every minute and would love to return next year. Highly recommend. great stay in Thierry's apartment. I would have liked to have been able to stay longer to fully enjoy it, but the apartment is ideally located and has all the comforts you could wish for, with a very appreciable historic character. Total calm, in the center of Caen. Thierry is caring and friendly! Totally recommend!

Romain Et Céline's AirBnb was a lovely little retreat in Caen. You can reach it from the train station with a 30 minute walk or you can take the tram which gets you there in about 10-15 minutes. The location is in the center of the city. It is a five minute walk to several restaurants for dinner and you are never further than 20-25 minutes walk from most of the popular tourist sites. The listing itself had all the promised amenities. There was not much sound at night so we all slept well. Three of us comfortably used the space. The internet was also able to handle all of us using it at the same time. The shower also had good water pressure and hot water. The check-in instructions were easy to follow and the check-out instructions were quite reasonable. Romain messaged to ask how our stay was going was quick to respond whenever I had questions. I had a wonderful time and would be happy to rent this AirBnb again.

Cozy unique apartment with beautiful view to an old church. It is also in a beautiful shopping street with pubs and restaurants. The aparment itself has everything you need, and you get alot of value for your money. The owner answers quick and with clear instructions. Would definitely stay here again!

Things we loved about Robin’s apartment: the Chateau immediately across the street. During the day, the Chateau intrigues. At night, it attracts, with its beautiful lighting. The Vaugeaux neighborhood is a mere 5 minute walk away to take you back in time. Plus, so many restaurants to choose from! Oh and the Twisto is just out the door! Robin included helpful suggestions for the Beaches, restaurants, and walking tours. Robin was also accommodating of our changing schedule. We hope to visit again!

We had a wonderful weekend for my husband's birthday. The house is beautiful, tastefully decorated and all the necessary equipment to spend a wonderful stay (billiards, foosball, swimming pool, Nordic bath, large and very functional kitchen!) The cottage was everything advertised and more. Beds were very comfortable; literature was provided for local attractions, groceries restaurants; emergency contacts, etc. Loved the horses on their breeding farm, and the serene rural setting - just the perfect distance from everything we came to see. Our gracious host, Venessa, was bilingual and spoke English, which made communicating with her much easier. The kitchen as well as the entire cottage was beautifully furnished with everything we needed. She had even provided games, and other children items -which we didn’t need - but we appreciated seeing the details given to the needs of visiting families. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to enjoy the pool or hot tub, but would have enjoyed spending time at both amenities, given more time for our trip. I would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone desiring to travel to the Normandy area of France.

We had a wonderful week in this property just outside of the town of Deauville. The house is located in a quiet suburban area with a Carrefour just a couple of minutes walk down the street which was very convenient. The large walled garden was great for the kids and the table tennis table, sun loungers, outdoor eating area, and table football all proved popular! The house itself is absolutely stunning - a beautiful traditional style timber framed building. The interior has a lot of exposed wood beams and very high quality furnishings. Everything that we needed was provided and we were very comfortable during our stay. The local town of Deauville has plenty going on including shops, bars, and restaurants. It's a pretty place with a harbour and some canals - lovely to be by the water. Between the house and Deauville is a wide sandy beach with stunning views along the coastline from Villers sur Mer to La Havre. Well worth a visit!

Eric and Alexandra were fantastic hosts, very kind and very helpful. The house is exactly as in the photos, if not better, clean, cozy and equipped to spend a wonderful weekend with family or friends. We will definitely be back!
