Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Calvados

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille chez Claire et Yoann ! Le logement était impeccable on s’y sentait comme chez nous. L’emplacement était parfait, à proximité de la plage d’Omaha Beach et de site de la 2nd guerre mondiale (Cimetière américain, Pointe du Hoc…). Merci à nos hôtes pour leurs informations claires et leur réactivité ! Je recommande à 100% ce logement de qualité !

This was one of the best Airbnb properties we have stayed in. Valerie is a very gracious, kind and welcoming host. She met with us on arrival and departure and gave us a full run down on the house, nearby shops and restaurants and suggestions for things to see during our stay. She has thought of everything and there was no amenity in the house that had been overlooked. The house is perfectly located for the quintessential visit to Normandy with manageable drives to the main tourist locations. It’s located in a beautiful tranquil village and we loved watching the sheep grazing outside our window and listening to the nearby church bells chiming out the day. It was a wonderful place to return to at the end of each action-packed day! The house was spotlessly clean and gorgeously planned. It’s a centuries old stone house which has been furnished in contemporary style while maintaining some traditional touches. It looks even better than the photos. Highly recommended…. Look no further!

Wat hebben wij een geweldige week gehad in het Petite Maison van Hélène. Een prachtige gite, in wonderbaarlijk mooie omgeving. Alles was top! Van ontvangst tot vertrek. Ook onze hond was welkom en kon genieten van de geheel afgesloten tuin. Op frisse avonden konden we lekker de haard stoken. Bij een klein ongelukje met de sleutel werd dit direct en zonder mopperen opgelost, dank je wel!

I had an amazing stay!!! Staring before check in to check out, Céline was very responsive and accommodating. She responded quickly with any questions I had and was a delight to talk to. I had all the amenities needed for the perfect stay. It was definitely a home away from home. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to be surrounded by a peaceful environment and the view of the ocean was AMAZING. This will 100% be my go-to rental whenever I'm back in Normandie. Thank you for an amazing stay Céline. Your place is comfortable, accommodating, beautiful and worth every penny. kort verblijf maar het was heerlijk. Alles netjes en aanwezig. de host spreekt alleen Frans maar met Google translate ging het prima. ze zijn flexibel en reageren snel. Het enige was dat het onduidelijk was dat er niet 2 afgesloten kamers zijn, dit zorgde ervoor dat we uiteindelijk met onze zoon op 1 kamer moesten slapen. Niet erg maar had het graag van tevoren geweten.

We cannot say enough good things about Christian’s Chateau! The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful and made for a very peaceful start to our month long Europe trip. We loved greeting their horse and chickens each day and waking up in the bucolic countryside. It was the perfect gateway to Normandy and had everything you could possibly need for a memorable stay. The bedrooms were huge and beyond comfortable and you literally have an entire castle to yourself which makes you feel like royalty! The decor is whimsical and Victorian and adds to the charm and homeyness Christian certainly treated us like royalty too; he answered all of our questions in a timely manner, gave great area recommendations, and even left us a basket of delicious croissants for lunch! We relished the peace and quiet of this Airbnb and feeling like we could truly rest and escape the hustle and bustle. Thanks for being an amazing host and making our time in France so wonderful, Christian! :)

Je recommande ce logement, la vue est extraordinaire, sa terrasse bien à l'abri du vent on a pu y mangé tous les midi, les équipements et les literies sont parfait ! juste à revoir la cafetière qui n'est pas à la hauteur du standing de la maison. La conciergerie est superbe en tant que communication et de flexibilité autant pour l'arrivée que pour le départ ! On reviendra !

What a perfect stay we have had, truely outstanding. The cottage was so pretty, clean and beautifully furnished. The location was excellent for exploring the vast history and beautiful Normandy countryside. Rodolphe and his family were extremely welcoming, friendly and on hand to offer any help or recommendations. We really enjoyed every minute and would love to return next year. Highly recommend. super séjour dans l'appartement de Thierry. J'aurais aimé pouvoir rester plus longtemps pour en profiter pleinement mais l'appartement est idéalement situé et présente tout le confort qu'on peut souhaiter, avec un cachet historique très appréciable. Calme total, en plein centre de Caen. Thierry est attentionné et sympathique ! Je recommande totalement !

Romain Et Céline's AirBnb was a lovely little retreat in Caen. You can reach it from the train station with a 30 minute walk or you can take the tram which gets you there in about 10-15 minutes. The location is in the center of the city. It is a five minute walk to several restaurants for dinner and you are never further than 20-25 minutes walk from most of the popular tourist sites. The listing itself had all the promised amenities. There was not much sound at night so we all slept well. Three of us comfortably used the space. The internet was also able to handle all of us using it at the same time. The shower also had good water pressure and hot water. The check-in instructions were easy to follow and the check-out instructions were quite reasonable. Romain messaged to ask how our stay was going was quick to respond whenever I had questions. I had a wonderful time and would be happy to rent this AirBnb again.

Cozy unique apartment with beautiful view to an old church. It is also in a beautiful shopping street with pubs and restaurants. The aparment itself has everything you need, and you get alot of value for your money. The owner answers quick and with clear instructions. Would definitely stay here again!

Things we loved about Robin’s apartment: the Chateau immediately across the street. During the day, the Chateau intrigues. At night, it attracts, with its beautiful lighting. The Vaugeaux neighborhood is a mere 5 minute walk away to take you back in time. Plus, so many restaurants to choose from! Oh and the Twisto is just out the door! Robin included helpful suggestions for the Beaches, restaurants, and walking tours. Robin was also accommodating of our changing schedule. We hope to visit again!

The property is amazing - beautifully decorated, comfortable and in the historical heart of Caen. At the same time its quiet and private. We loved it! Marie is an amazing host - warm, very responsive and helpful with any questions we had.

We voelde ons direct welkom in dit typische Franse verblijf, overal was aangedacht van een Haard die klaar stond om te ontsteken tot een gedekte tafel met een heerlijke chocolade taart! Naast elk bed stond een flesje water met een Madeleine voor de nachtelijke trek. Wel hangen er door heel het huis briefjes met instructies, maar wanneer iemand gewoon normen en waarde kent zijn de reglementen vrij logisch. Misschien een tip om deze regels te bundelen en op de gedekte eettafel te presenteren zodat alles gelijk duidelijk is ipv door heel het huis. Wij hebben een geweldige tijd gehad in dit pittoreske Franse huis.

Nous avons passé un superbe week-end pour l’anniversaire de mon mari. La maison est magnifique, décorée avec goût et tout le matériel nécessaire pour passer un merveilleux séjour (billard, babyfoot, piscine, bain nordique, cuisine grande et très fonctionnelle!) Merci à Adélaïde pour son accueil et sa disponibilité !

The cottage was everything advertised and more. Beds were very comfortable; literature was provided for local attractions, groceries restaurants; emergency contacts, etc. Loved the horses on their breeding farm, and the serene rural setting - just the perfect distance from everything we came to see. Our gracious host, Venessa, was bilingual and spoke English, which made communicating with her much easier. The kitchen as well as the entire cottage was beautifully furnished with everything we needed. She had even provided games, and other children items -which we didn’t need - but we appreciated seeing the details given to the needs of visiting families. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to enjoy the pool or hot tub, but would have enjoyed spending time at both amenities, given more time for our trip. I would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone desiring to travel to the Normandy area of France.

We had a wonderful week in this property just outside of the town of Deauville. The house is located in a quiet suburban area with a Carrefour just a couple of minutes walk down the street which was very convenient. The large walled garden was great for the kids and the table tennis table, sun loungers, outdoor eating area, and table football all proved popular! The house itself is absolutely stunning - a beautiful traditional style timber framed building. The interior has a lot of exposed wood beams and very high quality furnishings. Everything that we needed was provided and we were very comfortable during our stay. The local town of Deauville has plenty going on including shops, bars, and restaurants. It's a pretty place with a harbour and some canals - lovely to be by the water. Between the house and Deauville is a wide sandy beach with stunning views along the coastline from Villers sur Mer to La Havre. Well worth a visit!
